CS6 Bridge "Lens Specification Data" appears incorrect (W7 Pro 64Bit SP1)

Viewing Camera Data (Exif) in CS6 Bridge
Noc ahgnges to default settings applied in CS6 Bridge
Observed Results:
The new "Lens Specification Data" under the Camera Data (Exif) appears to be be correctly reporting the lens type but shows the lens as "f/0" which is incorrect
This appears to be the case with pictures taken with two different lenes both of which are reported as f/0
Further up in the same tab the "Lens" data is correctly reported for the lens type and maximum aperture.
Expected Result:
Wasd to see the maximum aperture of the lens reproted in addition to the lens type, which I would ahve expected to be the same data as reproted under the "Lens" information higher up in the same panel.
Which begs the question what is the difference between the "Lens" information and the "Lens Specification Data" meant to be ?
Observed these results with the following two lenses:
EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
System Info:
Won't let me paste in :(

Hi Baichao,
Thank you for your response.
The camera in questions is a Canon 7D (actullay I shoot with a pair of 7D's and the results are the same for both cameras), the files are both .CR2 and .JPG, with the same results being seen for both file formats. the images have not been edited in any other applications but viewed immediately after donwload to the PC from the memory card.
I have also viewed these and other older images in both the CS6 and CS5 versions of bridge for comparision purposes and see the same differences irrespective of how old the image is or if its been previously edited in CS5 for both .CR2 and .JPG files.
In addition I also don't see an indication of the subject distance displayed in CS6 bridge, although the option is selected and works as expected in CS5 bridge.
I will send you a seperate email with screen shots showing an example in both CS5 and CS6.
Regards Mark

  • CS6 Beta Modifies CS4 & CS5 Bridge File Associations (W7 Pro 64Bit SP1)

    Symptoms:
    After installing CS6 including bridge CS6 onto a W7 pro 64Bit Machine with SP1.
    The File associations in the existing copies of CS4 and CS5 bridge are updated to make the CS6 Beta the default programme for opening the majority of file types from either CS4 or CS5 bridge.
    When right clicking ona file from CS4/5 bridge only the option of opening in CS6 is presented
    Expected Bahaviour:
    I expected that CS6 would be the default programme launched from CS6 bridge but that CS4/CS5 would remain the default programmes launched from their own versions of bridge.
    Setting CS6 as the default file association in previous versions of bridge makes no sense at the Beta stage, as it interupts a clean migration back to existing workflow.
    I would also question the value in not preserving the existing file associations in prior versions of bridge in the final CS6 release, as there are cases when it might be desirable to go back to a previous version of CS, in which case opening that version of bridge and launching directly into the prior versions of CS is very desirable.
    Is there anyway to quickly restore the previous associations in CS4/CS5 bridge and be sure that they are exactly the same as prior to the CS6 beta install ?

    Sorry for the noise. I misunderstood your depth of knowlege and what you had tried. I also committed the sin of not testing the procedure all the way through because I did not want to change the association on my computer. I get the same behavior.
    Guess for .jpg
    Registry shows for .jpg:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpg\UserCho ice  Progid = Applications\Photoshop.exe
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command  (Default) = "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1"
    UserChoice seems to be added when I made the association choice. Note that it points into Applications with a non-version specific Photoshop.exe. Within HKLM\....\Applications there is only one Photoshop.exe -- no version -- and that entry points to CS6.
    I believe that explains why the browsed to association is CS6. It does not explain why it would be set up that way. Probably has something to do with Windows special handling of certain file extensions. Beyond my depth and tells me I am not going to find a solution.

  • IPhoto 11 Faces and Dates are incorrect when synced to iPad/iPod

    iPhoto 11, "Faces" and file creation dates appear to work perfectly when viewed within iPhoto 11 on my MacBook Pro. However, a few dozen Faces and creation dates appear incorrectly and out of chronological sequence when viewed on my iPad or iPod. I have rebuilt my iPhoto 11 library several times and re-synced to the iPad/iPod, but the problem persists. Anyone having the same issue or happen to know of a solution? Thanks in advance.

    iPhoto Version 9.5.1 (902.17)
    It was moved to the library by being imported from an NTFS external hard drive, which has now been reformatted to Mac OS Extended (Case Sensitive, Journaled), the iPhoto library was originally located on the built in SSD drive, but is now located on an external hard drive, due to capacity limitations.
    I am seeing the incorrect face orientations when I view the faces in the faces view of iPhoto, when I go onto a person, some are incorrect orientation.
    But when I click on the files, they are correct.
    |
    They are also incorrect using photo screen savers.
    (These images are for demo purposes only, and the issue is not limited to the photos shown).

  • How to modify Bridge CS6 default sub-folder date format while importing?

    How could I modify Bridge CS6 default sub-folder date format when we are importing images from a connected camera? Default format for shooting date is aaaammjj. I would like instead aaaa_mm_jj. How could I add "_" to the date format?

    You only can do so after the import process using a third party app called A better finder Rename,  originally designed for Mac but they seem to have a Windows version also:

  • Bridge CS6 occasionally displaying wrong 'Date Created' for .NEF's

    I noticed this problem only recently, and this the third time it happens (that I know of).
    Sometimes my Bridge puts a wrong Date Created (not Date File Created or Date File Modified) on a NEF RAW file, whilst the next one (taken perhaps just a few seconds or a minute later) has the proper date. Strangely the Date File Created & Modified do show the proper creation date.
    Example to clarify:
    Metadata viewed on my D90 itself

                   Date File Modified: 30/09/2013, 9:09:34 PM
    As you can see, it's not a 'stable' deviation.
    I could live with it, apart from one problem: the batch rename function only has 'Date Created' as option for renaming with date.
    It's also quite annoying for my photography study, since my teachers might get confused by the wrong date in the Metadata when I turn my photo in.
    I tried compacting the cache whilst my camera's SD card wasn't connected (so the files aren't 'available' anymore), no difference.
    Another thing I tried was to hook my SD card up on a different computer, same result.
    So it might be my SD card, but that doesn't explain why the correct date is shown on my D90 itself, though.
    If anybody here has an idea how to fix / avoid this problem, help is much appreciated.
    Greetings,
    Alex

    I have never inserted the 8GB card in the D3000 before just a minute ago.
    And I just took 7 rapid photo's of my previous post (~1s interval)
    All 7 displayed actual date in my camera, the first 4 displayed a wrong date in bridge (24/09/2013, times; 2:12:16PM, 2:12:20PM, 3:09:24PM and 3:10:26PM). Last 3 displayed proper time in bridge.
    So yea, I'm pretty sure something is wrong. I'll try formatting the SD card (as suggested before) but however you look at it, this doesn't add up.
    edit:
    Well I figured out one thing: if I view the photo's directly on my SD card through bridge, it shows the same date for Date Created, Date File Created and Date File Modified.
    Quite logical, to be honest, since I am viewing the date the file was created on the camera.
    However, if I export photo's with Adobe Photo Downloader (or whatever it's called again), it displays the date those copies were created (by Date File Created). Date File Modified is still ~the same as Date Created since it hasn't been modified since the original creation.
    edit2:
    The formatting seems to have solved the issue, for now anyway. Still have no clue why the SD card got such (occasional) cases of drunkness.

  • CS6 Bridge Under Windows 8 Slow Response

    When I use CS6 Bridge in Windows 8 (64 bit) it takes about 10 seconds to open a folder.  I select an image from the grid and press the spacebar to see it full size.  It takes another 10 seconds.  If I go to the Menu Bar and click on an item such as Window it takes about 10 seconds to get the drop down list, but if I then slide the cursor over to View and click on it, the menu appears right away and if I then click on Full Screen Preview, the  full size image appears immediately.  When I check the Widows Resource Monitor there is no unusual activity occurring during these 10 second intervals.  It is as if the program is in a wait state pending some event.
    When I was running CS6 under Windows 7 (32 bit) everything worked fine.  When I run CS4 Bridge on Windows 8 (64 bit) it also runs fine.  I have purged the cache, and increaed cache size but to no avail.  My system has lots of processing speed, memory and disk space.
    Does anyone know what I could do to get CS6 Bridge running correctly in my Windows 8 environment?   Is it possible that there is some kind of incompatibility with
    Bridge, Windows 8 and the GPU?

    But if it works it is better than the alternative.    curt
    Surprisingly the bit about trying it under a different or new user actually works here.  All the aggruvating 5 to 10 second long freezes disappear when used under a fresh account.
    Ok, so how can that be parlayed into being able to use Bridge CS6 under my own account?
    Does the fact that it works as expected under a new fresh account point to something particular that needs changing or adjustment under my regular account?
    The Adobe staff person seems to think it is most likely a problem of  (lack of) updates or incorrectly installed updates, but that would not have any bearing if changing to a new account fixes the problem would it?
    PS - How does one run in Vista compat mode?

  • Pentax Lens Model Data in Aperture

    I have finally figured out how to get Aperture to display Lens Model EXIF data for Pentax cameras.
    The problem is that Aperture is looking for that date in one specific field, but Pentax stores it in another. The solution is rather like what we did back when Aperture could not import PEF files. Using exiftool, it's possible to copy the the lens model data from the field Pentax puts it in to the field Aperture expects to find it in.
    This is a procedure you can use (a) for importing new pictures and (b) modifying selected pictures in your Aperture library.
    Assuming you've installed the exiftool library, here are the steps I have used successfully:
    1. Have the pictures you want modified in a folder +in your user folder+. For this example, we'll call the new folder "lenschange." These might have been exported from a project or imported from a camera. I have verified this works on PEF and JPGs.
    2. Open the terminal and type the following command exactly except put your actual user folder name in place of "YourUserFolderName":
    exiftool '-Lenstype>Lens' /Users/YourUserFolderName/lenschange (hit return)
    It will take exiftool a while to do this. It will open each file, move the lens model data, and write a new file, renaming the old one with _original at the end of the filename.
    3. Import the new files into Aperture wherever your want them.
    You should now see the Lens model data in the "Lens Model" field for the EXIF data.
    Clunky, yes; but if you really want that data visible in Aperture, this is (for now) how it has to be done.

    clawhammer, OMG that is VERY strange. Given what I have read like using exiftool in terminal and sRGB vs adobe profile that this works is odd. Obviously the theory that Aperture is looking for the lens info in the wrong place is not totally true.
    Here's what I did with one Pentax. pef image. In the adjustment HUD in the 'RAW Fine Tuning" brick (Aperture 2.1.2) I switched from 2.0 to 1.1 then back. For a very quick moment I saw the lens info appear in the metadata for Lens. But it went right back to blank. BTW the 1.1 image was awful (green!). So I tried the same thing with 2.0 to 1.0 and back. This time it stuck and I can see the lens info "smc PENTAX-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED".
    To me this is very weird. Obviously it is there somewhere AND accessible to Aperture but either Apple or Pentax is screwing up. Now this is only one image but now I'm thinking can I use Automator or AppleScript to run through my whole library to make the correction (man this would take a lot of time). And then how could I automate this on download.
    I'd be forever grateful if either Apple corrected what now seems like a very simple problem or some script guru solved the library conversion and the download issue with a one step process. Clearly the info is still there so HEY APPLE FIX THIS!

  • How to marking email for follow up on a specific date

    In projects I often receive e-mails which need to be followed up/chased by a specific date in the future. I would like to be able to mark them with a specified date and then file them in the relevant mail folder. On the date specified either the email re-appears in your in box for action or a reminder is sent.
    The flag option is fine - but does not really help if one has many e-mails to follow up on different dates.
    This must be feature which would be useful to 1000's of users - does it exist is there a work round? I have not found this feature on other e-mail applications including Yahoo.
    Thanks in advance.

    There are always programs on http://www.tuaw.com that do things like this. I don't know if any of them specifically do this. They always want to suck you in and live in their little iGTD world. I don't really conform to that. I am trying to write software that I would want to use. This seems like one that would fall into that category. Simple, easy-to-use, does one thing well, and doesn't get in your way.

  • How to return a specific date/time range and last event details, when checking the event log via command prompt

    I am new to scripting (literally started reading/learning scripting a few hours ago), and I am stuck in trying to get my current script/command to filter a specific date range.
    * Note: I am working with Server 2003 and 2008; because of the environment I am in, a lot of scripts (such as Powershell and VBScript) don't work; trying to stick with command line, as it appears to be the only thing that functions correctly in my environment
    I am trying to search the System log in event viewer, for the most recent server reboot. Here is the command that I am currently running:

    What I would like it to do is only show events that have happened in the last seven days, as well as show the event details if it does find an event that matches the criteria.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I would prefer using Powershell , you can use below code
    function Get-EventViewer
    param(
    [string[]]$ComputerName = $ENV:COMPUTERNAME,[string]$LogName,[int]$eventid
    $Object =@()
    foreach ($Computer in $ComputerName)
    $ApplicationEvents = get-eventlog -logname $LogName -cn $computer -after (Get-Date).AddDays(-7) | ?{$_.eventid -eq "$eventid" }
    foreach ($event in $ApplicationEvents) {
    $Object += New-Object -Type PSObject -Property @{
    ComputerName = $Computer.ToUpper();
    TimeGenerated = $event.TimeGenerated;
    EntryType = $event.EntryType;
    Source = $event.Source;
    Message = $event.Message;
    $column1 = @{expression="ComputerName"; width=12; label="ComputerName"; alignment="left"}
    $column2 = @{expression="TimeGenerated"; width=22; label="TimeGenerated"; alignment="left"}
    $column3 = @{expression="EntryType"; width=10; label="EntryType"; alignment="left"}
    $column4 = @{expression="Source"; width=15; label="Source"; alignment="left"}
    $column5 = @{expression="Message"; width=100; label="Message"; alignment="left"}
    $Object|format-table $column1, $column2, $column3 ,$column4 ,$column5
    $Object.GetEnumerator() | Out-GridView -Title "Event Viewer"
    You can do a function call like
    Get-EventViewer -LogName system -ComputerName "computername" -eventid "2017"

  • After importing images from my card using LR 5.4, the GPS data does not show in the metadata panel. However, when I look at the imported images using Bridge, the GPS data is visible. Anybody know why LR is not seeing the GPS data? Camera is Canon 6D.

    After importing images from my card using LR 5.4, the GPS data does not show in the metadata panel. However, when I look at the imported images using Bridge, the GPS data is visible. Anybody know why LR is not seeing the GPS data? Camera is Canon 6D.

    Ok, the issue seem to be solved. The problem was this:
    The many hundred files (raw and xmp per image) have been downloaded by ftp in no specific order. Means - a couple of files in the download queue - both raw and xmps. Most of the time, the small xmp files have been finished loading first and hence the "last change date" of these xmp files was OLDER than the "last change date" of the raw file - Lightroom then seem to ignore the existence of the xmp file and does not read it during import.(a minute is enough to run into the problem)
    By simply using the ftp client in a way that all large raw files get downloaded first followed by the xmp files, we achieved that all "last changed dates" of the xmp files are NEWER than the related raw files. (at least not older)
    And then LR is reading them and all metadata information has been set / read correctly.
    So this is solved.

  • Report On Data As Of A Specific Date

    Post Author: Todd

    We are currently using Crystal 10 to report on employee data housed in Lawson.  We occasionally need to pull data on employee history so that we can see employee data as it appeared on a specific date in time (i.e. job title, rate of pay, status, etc.).   Is it possible with Crystal to pull this data based on a date parameter (i.e. "Show me what everyone looked like as of 01/01/07) or formula?  I'm fairly new to Crystal, so I wanted to explore what options we had in this area.

    You can exclude any data that was entered and/or effective after the date you specify.
    Without knowing what you're data looks like it's difficult to know what "as it appeared on a specific date" means, but you can set up a record selection formula something like:
    {table.date1} <= {?DateParameter} and {table.date2} <= {?DateParameter} . . .

    W64,  cs6 bridge when I move or copy files the  context menu does not retain  recent folder destinations after I close the program. The context options that show are the ones from original install. The workspace I set up is also gone. I have every explorer box and cleaner checked to save recent. Had to disable nivedia desktop software because of weird display conflict. Have Dell pro support and they cannot fix. Any ideas to help me with this would be appreciated.

    Self-solved!  I work in column view in Finder so get there in a Finder window with folders and files appearing.
    There really is no problem, just select an ITEM in the COLUMN before right-clicking!
    The "old" context menu will appear. If you click in the white space in that column (or anywhere in a Finder window) and then place the cursor over a folder or file WITHOUT selecting it and right-click you will bring up the secondary context menu - Open, Copy, Duplicate, View Options and a greyed out Labels option. No "Move to Trash".

  • Create  Invoices on Specific Dates

    Hello Gurus,
         how to Create  Invoices on Specific Dates?  so all deliveries due for billing on a certain date can be
    combined into one collective invoice.
    Many thanks,
    Frank

    Hello Frank,
    Yes, all deliveries due on a certain date can be combined into a single invoice, provided the following must be met:
    1) the header data(like payment terms, payer,sales org, etc..) appearing in the billing document must agree
    2) the split conditions specified do not apply.
    I hope this helps.

  • Crystal reports 2008: Data appears upon refresh, but not on initial open

    I have an updated crystalreports.com / salesforce.com report to which I added a new subreport and an additional grouping.  The report is working fine, with one (rather major) issue: when the report is first opened, only some of the data is shown - there are ~15 columns of data, most of which populate, but some individual values, which sometimes means an entire column of data, do not appear unless the report is refreshed.
    I have the original report still loaded in crystalreports.com, so that I can (and have) run both reports one right after the other; on first open, the data doesn't agree.  When I refresh the newer report, the 'lost' data appears and everything is fine.
    (Makes for a tough sell, though - 'Oh, just refresh the report.')
    Any thoughts as to a) what might be causing this, and b) how it might be resolved?
    It is not subreport data that is being affected, just so you know - that's working beautifully; the affected fields are Standard Summaries of formula fields, and not all instances of those summaries, either, but specific ones again and again.

    I have not used the 'Save Data with Report' option, and I verified that it is not selected under File / Report Options as well.  It appears to be an issue when there are too many (unknown how many that is, as of yet) results being retrieved.
    In this case, the main report is a report on Activities from the start of the current year, using a Salesforce.com report, and the Subreport pulls its data directly from the Activities table (as the main report considers all of the fields to be String(255) fields, even if they are ought to be read in as Memo fields (or number)).  The link to Activities allows the Description field to be pulled in based on the Activity ID, and coming straight from the database the value is pulled in as a Memo.
    If I limit the Activities to records beginning with 'A', for instance, the report runs fine; 'A - G', in this instance, retrieves too many and the error re: the database connector appears.

    It happens when I try to to set criteria on a specific date column or I do not set criteria at all. If I set date column 1 to greater than 4 or so months back the report returns, along with all the dates from date column 2. But if I then try to set date column 2 as the criteria, no matter if I just ask for data from a week until today, I receive this error. I tried changing the Server Stack size to 512, but that did not help. Anyone have an idea on this???

    You seem to be using an ODBC connection with an Oracle database, is that correct? If so you should install the Oracle client and use the OCI driver instead and it is much faster and stable than ODBC.
