CS6-Bridge- Not Sorting Correctly

In the above image you will see that Bridge now sorts edited CR2 files(TIF/JPG) at bottom of folder. Where as up until yesterday the edited files were placed right next to the CR2 files as shown in a few above.
Now all PS CS6 Bridge 8.6 users that have responded privately say this is how there Sort order accomplishes what my machine did do:
View>Sort>Ascending Order>Manually
Now it will only work this way-View>Sort>Ascendg Order>Filename. So there is another problem. Also this was not the fix Chris Cox or Noel gave me a few years back but since the Forums have changed, I can't find the "fix" discussion.
Dan

We can't know. You are not offering any system information or e.g. info about what image files you are working with. Since they do show up in your otehr programs, my assumption would be that you need to switch the Camera Raw engine back to the 2009/2010 version in Photoshop and not use the default new 2012 one. Perhaps your thumbnails will appear then....

  • Some photos are not sorted correctly by date

I just imported some photos from my friends camera who were on the same trip. However, I noticed that a couple (not all) of his photos are not sorted correctly by date in the Event. A photo from day 3 somehow comes before the photos from day 2. I checked the extended information and the dates on the photo are correct. Has anyone had this problem and know of a solution? Thanks.

It might be of some help to delete the photo cache. Please see this link - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • Smart playlist not sorted correctly on ipod

I have a smart playlist in my iTunes 10.0, which contains all podcasts (with play count 0), sorted by release date.
Unfortunately, this playlist is NOT sorted correctly on my ipod (nano, 5th generation). After syncing with itunes, the ipod playlist has some apparently random order (not by release date, not even by name, artist or anything, it really seems random).
It's strange that, if I click on my ipod under "DEVICES" in itunes and click the playlist there, the correct order is shown (by release date). But again, on the ipod it is actually not sorted.

I have a smart playlist for my podcast's and I normally sort them by the date added (oldest to newest) or by release date. No mater what I do now they only show up on my iPhone in date added order newest to oldest and I am unable to re-order them. I have a number of other playlists that work fine it is just this one smart playlist that is acting up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Synced photos from iTunes not sorted correctly

I have around 300 pics that I took with my iphone that I moved to a local folder on PC.
I want to put those pics back on the iphone to use in a timelapse video.
I enabled Photo sync on itunes and chose that folder, and synced.
All synced OK, but these pics are not sorted correctly on the iphone.
The file names on the PC are exactly as iphone assigned them when taken, and according to date taken.
It is very important that they are sorted in ascending file name; any ideas how I can correct the sorting?
    Thanks.

For those in this discussion concerned with the "Sort" order, the criteria is in the "metadata" date that changes when you adjust the photos.
The directions below apply to Lightroom
To keep the order you created you must make an adjustment to "ALL" photos at the same time such as increasing the contrast by (1) point.
First select and change the contrast in the first photo in your collection, then select the remaining photos, click "Sync" The "Metatdata" date will change on all photos selected and will then import in the prper order.
I should mention that I have renamed all photos so they have a name that is sequential but I don't know if that matters

  • ATV2 not sorting correctly

Has anyone else noticed their ATV2 does not sort TV Shows correctly? Here are a couple of examples -
The Colbert Report is under "T" - AppleTV1 listed it under "C" as it should be
Multiple seasons of of shows are showing up separately. So instead of having a 30ROCK listing in the root list, then clicking that to get to Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 options, I have multiple 30ROCK listings at the root list.
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
Or is ATV2 not sorting correctly?

    No
Or is ATV2 not sorting correctly?
    It's doing it differently.
Biggest annoyance for many is that TV Shows now have an entry for each Season rather than Seaons being listed under the main show name.
Also metadata tags used to group related films eg Star Wars, Superman etc, in a common folder no longer works.

Video playlists don't work properly either.

  • Outlook Contacts do not sort correctly under iCloud

I have recently started mucking around with iCloud (after the unfortunate discontinuation of MobileMe...).
I use MS Outlook 2007 on my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) for my Contacts, Calendar & Tasks.  Untill recently, I was syncing my Outlook Contacts & Calendar with my iPhone (latest iOS) via iTunes.  All was working fine.
A couple of days ago, I installed the iCloud Control Panel on my PC and gave it a go to see what will happen to my Outlook setup.  I enabled just the Contacts in order not to stray out too far...
Once done, iCloud took all the contacts from my personal folder in Outlook and moved them to a new iCloud folder.  So now, I have two different Contact folder, the iCloud dedicated one (which is fully populated) and the other one is the one previously used (which is stored in my local .pst file and now empty).
All syncing to the iCloud seems to be working OK - I checked my contacts from the www.icloud.com and they are all there.
The problem I have is withing the new iCloud Contact folder that was created in my Outlook installation.  It does not sort my Contacts correctly
I have contacts written both in English and in Greek, depending on where they reside.  It seems to get mixed up because of this and mixes up the Greek contacts inbetween the English ones, in a manner that I cannot justify.
Previously when I had all the Contacts in my local .pst file, it was showing the English ones first and then all the Greek ones, both sorted 100% correctly (by the way, this is how it looks as well in my iPhone).  I have also enabled an option in Outlook settings which allows me to create a second index for the Contacts in Greek - this creates a second Greek alphabet next to the already existing English one on the right of the Contacts view.  None of that seems to have an effect in the case of the iCloud Contacts folder in Outlook, which doesn't sort as it should.
Has anyone come across this issue and is able to offer some assistance?
    Regards.

No none, the contacts just do not sort in alphabetical order they should be in. For example I added a name that started with an S but it would not go under the S category of names but rather it would create a new S group at the top of the contact list before the contacts starting in A. The OLD list of names starting with S is still existing and in the right alphabetical order but the new contact would not save under that group but rather as I said in a new group starting with S at the top of the contact list.

  • Address book does not sort correctly

I have not been able to get the address book to sort correctly. If I go Preferences/General/Sort by Last Name, it only sorts about half. I discovered that the ones that don't get sorted are ones that have had the "Swap first/last name" function applied to them. This appears to be only cosmetic. How do you make the first/last switch permanent?
I thought that exporting them out and then importing would get around that but when exporting from Address Book it also ignores any first/last switches you may have done.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks. -Derryl
      Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Bneely, thanks for the reply. It still doesn't solve the problem though. If what you are saying is the case then the switch should be an option in Mail, not the address book.
Example: Our office in Switzerland sends us their addresses via Vcard. Most of Europe (like Japan) displays their cards reversed from ours. I get hundreds of addresses that don't sort correctly unless I manually retype them in their address cards. That is a waste of time (and certainly a waste of a G5). In addition to the temporary switch there needs to be a "Permanent Switch" button. Or at least a more intelligent sort function. Thanks. -dr

  • TV shows from iTunes are not sorted correctly on iPod

I bought episodes of a TV show from the iTunes store and all of a sudden nothing is sorted correctly anymore. They're completely fine on iTunes but on my iPod Classic (it's the newest one, 160 GB) it just doesn't seem to want to work. I've tried restoring it a few times but so far, no change. And I've checked all the tags and everything so it shouldn't be wrong but I'm thinking the issue is with my iPod, not iTunes.

I had the same issue with this. what I did to fix it was select the shows in the TV playlist, then apple - i to get info, click on the video tab, select "TV Show" from the "video kind:" pull down menu.
Resync the touch. You should see the files in the video playlist on the Touch. I'm not sure why they let you sync tv shows if they don't appear on the Touch. In any case, the above work around should work for you.
    Good luck.

  • Line Chart X Axis Not Sorted Correctly

I have created a line chart where the x axis is date closed and the y axis is number of days to close. This chart is placed within a group called priority.
When the chart is created the close dates are not on the x axis in ascending order. I'm expecting it to be 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, etc. but instead I'm getting 10/6, 10/31, 10/28, etc. from left to right.
I've got the Record Sort set to closed date ascending and if I place the records into the report they sort correctly. It's just the chart that sorts incorrectly.
    What am I missing here?

    Hi Jason,
here is the steps you should follow in order ro set the sorting for barchart.
    1. go to chart expert
    2. click on data tab
    3. select the field in the selected list of report columns on which you have to sort, then the order button will be enabled
    4. click on the order button
5 it will open new window by name "chart sort order", where you can set the sorting order(ascending order, descending order, specified order or the original order) for the selected report column.
I hope this will help you..

  • Pix on touch not sorted correctly after upgrade.

Hi, my pix were sorted by Name in iPhoto'08, iTunes (10) and iPod touch 3g (iOS4).
After upgrading my touch to 4.2.1 last week, they are scrambled on the iPod touch. I created another Event with some pix, which was appended at the bottom. I presume the Events are sorted by date rather than name. I cannot get them back into sort order by Name. They are still sorted correctly in iPhoto and iTunes - not on the iPod. I am stumped. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the hints.  I took out the databind() and it still throws the same error.
    Also, I tried adding
    crReportDocument.SetParameterValue("pi_letters", "LETTERXXX")
just before setting ReportSource and I get the following error:
    Failed to open the connection
This confirms to me that the push method is not being used by the application/report since the report is still trying to open a connection with the database and is throwing this error when the logon credentials are not supplied.
Can someone tell me why the push method is not working here?  I have a valid dataset, so my thinking is that I shouldn't have to go through the trouble of supplying parameters and logon credentials to the report.

  • Numbers Not sorting correctly?

I am trying to sort on a field that has both alpha and numeric characters.
ergo: I expected a sort to give me
    1a
    1b
    1c
    1d
    1e
    1f
    1h
    1i
    2a
    but received a sort of:
    1h
    1d
    1a
    1b
    1c
    1e
    1f
    1i
    2a
Justifying the field left or right makes no difference
if I insert a hyphen between as in 1-a 1-b etc it sorts as expected.
I also tried inserting a decimal between instead of the hyphen ergo 1.a etc but  when I did that as in (1.h) Numbers (automagically) removed the decimal (same with 1.d)
Any ideas?  Bug? (An Inverse Semi Hex Sort With Left hand English?)
    Thanks

    Hi C,
Interesting spelling of your username. I'd always associated this type with dogs, not with hearts.
I think you may have discovered a bug (or perhaps more accurately  generously, an artifact—an overlooked effect of automation).
On copying your (sorted) list, pasting it in (column B), randomizing it, then resorting in ascending order, I got the same results you did.
When I typed a copy of the list into column A and sorted it, I got the same results again.
Column C is a list of random numbers, generated by formula, and offering a column on wdich to randomize the sort of the table.
Columns D and E contain the formulas below, which pick off the first and last characters of the pair in column B, then rejoin them, in one case placing a period/full stop/decimal point between them, in the other, simply concatenating them into a two character text string.
Sorting on either of columns D and E produced the expected sort:
A light was beginning to glow. Entered directly, or by copy/paste, into an unformatted column, the items sorted 'incorrectly'. Reformed into text strings, with or without a constant intervening character, they sorted as expected.
One further test: Column F was added, preformatted as Text, and the values entered into it. The table was randomized (sorted on column C), the re sorted on column F, with the expected ('correct') results.
One more check. I selected column B, where the original list had been pasted, and set the formatting to Automatic:
    AHA!
Text is automatically aligned to the left side of cells. The two misbehaving items were not being interpreted as text, but as a numeric or quasi numeric value.
Numbers sees both of these as duration values—1d = one day, 1h = one hour.
Sorted in ascending order, one hour is less than, and comes before one day, and all numerical and quasi numerical values come before alphabetical (text) values.
Numbers is sorting the list correctly, using its interpretation of each value. To make it sort correctly in our view, you'll need to force numbers to see those values as text, most easily done by formatting the column as text before typing or before pasting, using Paste and Match Format, in the Edit menu.
Thanks for that question; it was an interesting one.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Applications NOT Sorting Correctly

    Hello -
I'm having a little issue with Finder and the way its sorting my Apps by type. Just recently it Finder started keeping VLC and Mac-The-Ripper at the top of my App list. When the Apps are sorted by name everything is sorted corrected, so it's only doing it when I'm sorting by type. I've posted a screen shop of my Finder so you all can see what I'm seeing.
    http://www.jlhoyt.com/web/Finderapps_sorted_by_type20081201.tiff
    Thanks!

In the "Finder", try using "Get Info" (⌘I) or the "Inspector"(⇧⌘I) to view more complete "Kind" information for the applications.
What is displayed under "Kind" as an "Application" in "List View" can actually be one of several sub-types - eg. Intel-only, PPC-only, Universal, Classic apps, java applets, etc. Given the ages, "VLC.app" might be "Intel-only", MTR "PPC-only" running under Rosetta, and the standard Mac apps "Universal".
I believe sorting application subtypes separately when viewing a folder's contents in "List View" and sorted by "Kind" is standard behaviour under 10.5 and am not aware of any way to change this.

  • Ipad photos not sorting correctly

When you synce your photos the Ipad will not sort them by name but in numeric descending order so your photos will not display in the correct order and there is no other way to sort them unless you own a Mac with Iphotos.... Please fix

I contacted an app maker and they are looking into expanding one of their existing photo apps to allow the iPad user to arrange the order.
I think this is mostly a Windows issue, because I read on another thread that iPhoto on macs allow for sequencing and this carries over to the iPad. Also, if the iPad sequencing is done with the date, then they'll have to determine the best method for dealing with this with that app.
If they do add the functionality to their app, I will post the info here.

  • ITunes is not sorting correct

I have downloaded a mix of 2cd's of Pacha Summer Anthems(Mixed by Chuckie & Mischa Daniels).
Both cd's are mixes, when I upload these cd's to iTunes I cannot let iTunes sort them correctly. It doesn't sort by track, so the mix is not played correctly.
When I upload the cd's to my iPod, the sorting is oke.
Anyone a idea how to solve this?

    Hi
First try and activate the 'album' column with the arrow pointing up:
    http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3838/sortingbyalbum.jpg
Or try and activate the track order column:
    http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/9404/sortingbytrackorder.jpg
You can also try and edit the Sorting options in:
select all songs of album > Right-click > Get Info > Sorting
