CS6 Bridge startup scripts, AGAIN!

Had the same problem with CS5 and beta CS6, Bridge startup scripts won't load, meaning the outout pane is blank.
Over the past 2 years, 2 different computers, 3 hd's, clean installs on all and I keep getting the same problem.
This time, standard install on Lion 10.7.3 mac pro mid 2010 16gb RAM ssd, permissions repaired before/after install, diskwarrior run before install. Works fine on my laptop.
Getting a bit frustrated with Adobe, same problem hasn't been sorted out in the past 2 years.
There was a helpful post in the old CS6 forums for a cure, but surely we shouldn't have to do this Adobe, again?

Might get a better response if you post in Bridge Script Forum  http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_scripting

  • Missing bridge startup scripts

    In bridge CS4 I am trying to use the Output feature to create a PDF contact sheet. However, when I click on that, I get a new workspace but I get no features in the output panel, it's blank. In reading the bridge PDF help manual, it says that one should use the Adobe Output Module script to do this: "If the Output workspace is not listed, select Adobe Output Module in Startup Scripts preferences." However, when I go to Preferences, Startup Scripts, and select "reveal scripts" there are no scripts shown at all.
    Where can I find them? Is this also why when I select the "Tools" menu item, there is no "Photomerge" choice?

    I have gone to Bridge->Preferences->Startup script panel. The Adobe Output Module is not listed. In fact, there is nothing listed in the panel.
    I have installed Photoshop CS4 but the photomerge options do not appear on the Tools->Photoshop menu of Bridge as they did in CS3. The only choices that appear are "Batch rename", 4 Metadata items, and "Cache".

  • Photoshop CS6 Startup Script Missing from Bridge CC

    Hi. After downloading a Photoshop CS6 update, Camera Raw unlinked from Bridge CS6. I have a full CC subscription so I downloaded Bridge CC and that solved the problem. Now Photoshop does not appear in the 'tools' menu. It is missing from the Startup Script list in preferences as well. Where can I find or download the photoshop script?
    On a mac, using Mavericks.
    Thank you!

    Bump. Any solutions yet?
    restart Bridge holding down option (Mac) or ctrl (Win) key ad from the menu choose reset references. Try again. BTW, the start up scripts from the needed applications for Bridge Tool menu are in Bridge preferences / Start up scripts, they should show and have a checkmark in front of them.

  • Bridge can't find Startup Scripts on OSX (CS5, CS5.5, CS6)

    I just spent a few hours trying to figure out why Bridge could not be launched from Photoshop, and also why the Stratup Script panel in Bridge Preferences was empty.
    On the chance someone else has this issue, I have found one cause for the problem on OSX... and I must say it is rather stupid.
    If you have a volume named "Library" mounted, either a local volume or a server volume, Bridge expects to find its startup scripts on it. You can either rename the volume, or if that really isn't an option, you can create a folder path of /Application Support/Adobe on the Library volume and copy the /Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Bridge CS6 Extensions  and  /Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Startup Scripts 6.0 folders to that new folder.
    Obviously renaming the volume is the easiest. Replace CS6 in the paths above with CS5 or CS5.1 if you also use those products.
    If you have encountered this error in Photoshop when opening bridge, you may have a volume called "Library":
    Error 2: photoshop is undefined.
    Line: 1
    -> photoshop.invokeBridge (false, false, '');

    I'm sorry but I certainly can't second this advise, in fact I'm strongly against it. Mac Os uses 3 libraries, one at root level, one in the system folder on root level and one on user level, by default hidden per OSX 10.7.
    That is for a single user set up.
    Creating folders in those libraries yourself should only be done with great care and good knowledge but rather you should let this be done during default installation of the applications themselves, they have been designed to place the folders they need to use to work under the correct name and path, otherwise they won't recognize the needed files or script or preferences.
    Renaming the library folder or creating a folder called library your self is a bad idea because all applications use the default root- and user library for various tasks as does the system itself.
    If your initial installation ended up without having access to the other applications using the start up scripts inBridge the install either went wrong or your copy of the software is not correct.
    The default location for the start up scripts should be in the library at root level and that would make the path: Macintosh HD (or the custom name you gave to the start up disk) / Library / Application support / Adobe / Startup Scripts CS6.
    Inhere should each installed application of the CS6 suite have a folder with its application name. These folders contain the needed scripts. Some have only one and some have more. the particular script to run Photoshop is called "photoshop.jsx".

  • Missing startup script in bridge cc

    I have photoshop cc and bridge cc loaded on my computer. I also had CS6 on the same computer.  I deleted photoshop CS6 from my computer. When I try to open a file in bridge cc I get an errer message that cs6 cannot be found.  I checked my bridge cc startup scripts folder file and it is empty.  Has anyone had the same problem?

  • Bridge CS5.1 Tools are missing and there are no startup scripts available.

    Brand new MBP with Creative Suite CS5. Not sure what happened to the Bridge Image Processing Tools that where readily available in CS4. I looked for the Startup Scripts mentioned in other forum posts but this folder is empty: Library > Application Support > Adobe > Bridge CS5.1.
    Why make us hunt for Startup Scripts?

    I think you may be misunderstanding me.
    With many advantages with using mail for this forum the disadvantage sometimes is you don't have oversight in the whole thread.
    I was merely reacting on Curt with the CS5 and CS5.5 solution that solved some problems earlier this year but reading the thread again that seems not related to yours.
    Shortly before Curt his post I read your post about renaming the default folder name (which to me sounds bad). Hence my reference to a solution of an older problem that was solved by creating a new folder with the 5.1 addition and copy the scripts in there
    However I still don't understand why you are not able to have a normal setup after clean install.
    Without having experience with Lion I really would try the Recovery Disk for resetting your user account. With Pre Lion you could do an Archive and Install and it seems Lion also has such an option.

  • I can't get Photoshop CS6 startup script to works ?

    Hi!
    I'm trying to get a script to execute each time photoshop cs6 is started. I've tried to put it in that folder ( Photoshop-CS6-Scripting-Guide.pdf page 10) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS6\Adobe Photoshop but it doesn't start ... If I put it in there C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Startup Scripts it loads when I start BridgeCS6 but it fails as it's a script done for photoshop. So I try to put it in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop CS6\Startup Scripts but didn't work as I was expecting ;o) .
    I don' think it matters but my OS is in french but photoshop is in english.
    So where is the proper place ?
    cheers

    Yes Startup Scripts is a Bridge thing.  If you open Bridge and use menu Edit>Preferences you will see Startup Scripts in the left pane if highlight that the right pane will contain a check box list of startup scripts you can enable.
    Photoshop has a script event manager. Script and action can be start automatically when an event occurs. They will not start if a a started event process has not finished nesting will not happen. So on an event like start application, new document, open document a script or action can be set to run.
    I never tried setting one up for start application but Photoshop ships with one named clean listener which could be useful. Find it in:
    presete\scripys\Event Scripts Only. And menu>File>Scripts>Scripts Event Manager

  • Add Startup scripts to Bridge

    hello
    I would like to do as above, with InDesign you have a fodler called Scripts/Startup Scripts with scripts inside can i do the same with Bridge CS6?
    Thanks

    There are 2 startup script folders with Bridge…
    One contains the Adobe Scripts that provide the built-in functions…
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/Startup Scripts CS5/
    Most likely the one you want though is the user one…
    You can reveal this if you go to the app preferences…

  • Startup Script folder empty - no Bridge CS5 Output to Web?

    Something must have gone wrong installing CS5 Photoshop over CS4 Indesign!
    Even after net-updating to Bridge 4.0.2 the startup script folder (Preferences > Startup Scripts) is empty. When selecting the Output Workspace in Bridge, there is no pane that let one output to Web Gallery or Contact Sheet.
    I'm doing this meanwhile in CS4 Bridge, where it works fine. This Bridge version was coming with CS4 InDesign.
    I downloaded CS5 Photoshop in April (I guess it's an International English upgrade) running it on OSX 10.6.4 on a new 17" Book.
    Is there an upgrade coming, how can I achieve full functionality of Bridge CS5?
    Than you in advance for your input,
    Bernd Rummel

    Hi Omke,
    I did download and install the Photoshop CS5 upgrade by April. Since the Output to Web Gallery pane was not there at the Output workspace as well as all Sartup Scripts are missing at Bridge Preferences, I completely reformatted (actually changed the partitions) and reinstalled OSX 10.6.3, my 17" Book came with. Than I upgraded to OSX 10.6.4.
    Now, before doing (screwing up) anything else, I installed Acrobat 9 and run the rather lengthy process of installing each and every upgrade to the latest version. Than I installed InDesign CS4 (version 6) and upgraded this. Finally I installed Photioshop CS5, only to still have the Startup Scripts and subsequently the output to web gallery pane missing. Of course, also the Twitter and Facebook stuff is not there. However, this is not my concern since I do not use them.
    The upgrade to Bridge 4.0.2 didn't change anything, so didn't todays upgrade to Photoshop 12.0.1.
    Please note that I do not use the CS Suite but upgrade Adobe Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop individually, which used to work fine for many years. And so I have Bridge CS4 and Bridge CS5 installed side by side. At the CS4 version the Startup Scripts and Output to Web Gallery does work as expected the CS5 version of Bridge is short of both. This shouldn't happen, since I installed CS5 Photoshop over Bridge CS4.
    Actually two weeks back I tied to un-install both the CS4 Bridge as well as the CS5 Photoshop, and than to just install Photoshop CS5 without InDesign with Bridge CS4 being installed. The Startup Scripts and Output to Web Gallery wasn't there either.
    Do you think I can get an other Photoshop CS5 softcopy somewhere that makes my serial number as well as the output to web gallery work? This would turn me back to be a happy photoshopper that I am since version 2.5... when I switched from Cibachrome in darkroom to Photoshop on Mac now about 16 years back.
    I look forward to your input.
    Bernd

  • Opening files in CS6 Bridge

    When I try to open a file in photoshop from CS6 Bridge I get an error message: "Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe' Make sure you have typed the name correctly and then try again."
    I just moved from CS5 to CS6 and do not have CS4 on my machine.

    Did you uninstall CS6 beta before you installed CS6 final?  If not uninstall now.  You machine may be fairly well messed up by now.
    If your only Adobe product is CS6 here is what I would do.
    Save any files you might want from PS and Bridge then deactivate and uninstall PS.
    Download and run the Adobe Script Cleaner, follow instructions.
    Install CS6 and reactivate.  If it asks for qualifiying s/n, use the CS5 #, no need to have it installed.

  • Mac CS6 Bridge will not open

    I know this has been discussed a lot on the forums and I have read all of those, but I am frustrated after 3 weeks of working on this.  I bouht my wife Photoshop CS6 for xmas and loaded on our iMac running 10.8.2.  She was running Elements 8.  CS6 Bridge will not open.  Get a message "operation can not be completed". It will also not open from inside Photoshop either.  Following other posts, went into Library and deleted switchboard folder, plist files, and other listed files.  Did an option start on CS6 and reset to factory, delete thunbnails.  Performed PRAM and disk permissions repair.  None of this has fixed the problem.  The only thing that works is creating a new user account.  Bridge opens fine in my test account.  Next step is to make test account the main account; however, this is going to be a pain.  Any other ideas before I undertake this?

    Looks like you have tried all the suggested methods, so good job on that.  Your solution to create a new account is one that has worked for many where nothing else has worked.  This usually means some permission or default setting has not been affected by your actions.
    The only suggestion I can offer is to uninstall CS6, run Adobe Script Cleaner, then reinstall.  Hope this works.

  • Cs6 Bridge will not open files in Photoshop cs6, get error message pasted below

    Windows cannot find C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Photoshop.exe
    I installed Photoshop CS6 Upgrade (64bit and 32Bit) to my PC which ran CS5 Extended.  When I deleted CS5, Bridge
    stopped opening files, whether I double clicked on the file or did Open with:  I get the same error message.

    By uninstalling CS5 you have corrupted file associations.  THey want to open in CS5 now and it is not on machine.
    You can either unistall CS6, do a script cleaner, and reinstall.
    Or you can change an entry in the registry.  Here is instructions from a previous post.
    I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
    So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image...

  • CS6 Bridge web gallery - HTML Gallery template problem

    In CS6 Bridge, a web gallery created with the HTML Gallery template puts the images in a directory with a path of content\bin\images. This prevents the images from being served from IIS - the bin directory is by default a "Hidden segment". There is no need for the directory hierarchy generated to use the name "bin".
    I know how to work around the issue, but it would be better if the issue was not present in the first place. I tried to report it as a problem on photoshop.com, but was unable to login.
    How do I report this problem to Adobe?

    (Me again, my previous Adobe ID broke). We don't have Dreamweaver, and the users who create and upload web galleries would not be able to use such tools (or a text editor which works on several files at the same time). My workaround is to have a directory dedicated to their web galleries using a web.config file of
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration>
        <system.webServer>
            <security>
                <requestFiltering>
                    <hiddenSegments>
                        <remove segment="bin" />
                    </hiddenSegments>
                </requestFiltering>
            </security>
        </system.webServer>
    </configuration>
    So that the HTML web galleries' "bin" sub-directories are accessible.

  • Problem in applying startup script

    In a domain with a windows 2008 R2 domain controller, windows 7 computers apply the startup script but windows xp sp3 boxes show this log in event log:
    Source: UserInit
    Event ID: 1000
    Could note execute the following script \\192.168.1.4\scripts\ping.bat
    Access is denied
    on the script share folder permission for domain users, domain computers, domain controllers, authenticated users, domain admins are granted.

    Hi Masoud Dorostkar,
    According to your description, the GPO which configured startup script couldn't apply to Windows XP SP3 clients sucessfully, and the error was Event 1000. Right?
    It would be helpful for furthur troubleshooting if you could help to collect the following information:
    Which type of network does the Windows XP SP3 clients use? Wired or Wireless?
    Were there other events in the Event viewer about this issue?
    In addition, please help to enable the Userenv debug logging on Windows xp SP3 client machine, this log records the detailed information about the group policy applying process which is very useful for troubleshooting the group policy
    related issues. To do so, add the following registry entry:
    Subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    Entry: UserEnvDebugLevel
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value:      30002 (HEX)
    After you make this change, restart the computer and log on again to reproduce the issue. After that, compress the %SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode\ folder and check if there are any error about this GPO.
    Please note: the registry key Diagnostics does not exist by default, we need to add it first. In addition, we can disable the debug logging after the troubleshooting.
