CS6 Captivate Quiz not recording Quiz to SuccessFactor Plateau LMS
I've created a simple quiz in CS6 Captivate and it works on scorm.com. Why does this simple quiz not work on Plateau? Which is identified as a LMS supported in Adobe's Authoring tools.
Can you add some more inforamtion around your project.
Share us the Screen shot of Quiz Preferences-- Reporting Menu.
Was the project checked in the same way on both LMS?
The LMS Team sould have adetailed log to decipher what could be causing the problem.
Thanks,

Captivate will not record ALL screen movements
I have been using Camtashia and recently move to another
company where they want to start using Captivate. I just bought
Captiveate and I am getting very aggrevated! Captivate will not
record all my movements with the mouse or when a screen changes. It
appears that everything is driven by an actual mouse click. Only
when I move my mouse around and then click will it actuall record
the "action".
Please tell me there is a way for Captivate to record all
mouse movements, keystrokes, changes in applications just as I see
it when I am actually doing the recording.
I dont need all this fancy highlighting and project wizards,
I just simply want Captivate to record EXACTLY what I do and see
while I am recording.
PLEASE HELP!Hi Tmy8ster and welcome to our community
No doubt you are frustrated if you are expecting Captivate to
behave like Camtasia. Yes, both create similar output, but both
accomplish it in entirely different ways.
Perhaps the following link to a thread where I attempted to
explain it will help:

Captivate 7 not recording clicks suddenly
I have been using Captivate for about 2.5 years now and have never experienced this problem. Two days ago, I didn't have an issue, but today it will not record my "clicks" when attempting to record a software simulation. However, it will record any keyboard actions. I've checked settings and it is set to automatically record, so I'm not sure what's going on. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

Captivate 5 Not recording actions in Automatic mode but records in FMR
Hi, I am trying to create a software simulation of SharePoint. The users need to be shown how to edit pages, profiles, etc. I am running Captivate 5 as administrator. The operating system is Windows 7. The problem is when I record the actions in Automatic mode, some of the actions are not captured; for example when chosing a profile picture from an explorer window, clicking Save and Close button on the edit profile page. However, when I record these same actions in FMR, everything is captured. Now that it adds extra work for me to insert captions in the FMR, wanted to check why Captivate is not capturing all the actions in Automatic Demo mode. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
HareeshIn order for Captivate to perform an automatic capture it has to 'hear' the screen event, e.g. a button click, load of a dialog box, drop-down menu etc. Some software advertises these events well, others don't. In almost all software you'll typically need to do SOME manual captures, and for some software you'll need to do lots. Sounds like SharePoint might fall into the latter category.

Captivate is not recording tooltips in a web application
Hi,
I am using adobe captivate 3 to record a web based
application i.e. SAP BusinessObjects BI Dasboard using IE 6.0, I
have exhausted all options of converting tooltips into rollover and
using full motion recording option, in either case for some reason
AC3 is not capturing tool tips.
Any suggestion would be very helpful, i am running out of
time and have a deadline to catch.
Thanks!
:SAnything that Captivate does not capture automatically you
can 'force'
to be captured by pressing the PrintScreen key on your
keyboard. So,
rollover the item so the tooltip shows and when it appears,
press
PrintScreen. This has worked for me before, but with CP 2 I
think it was.
Now, what you mean by 'converting tooltips to rollover' and
'using full
motion recording', I'm not sure. I'd avoid full motion
recording unless
you need to show an animation of something - it just makes
your file all
the more bigger.
If you want to setup CP so the user rolls-over an item and a
tooltip
appears, then it would seem you do NOT want to capture the
application's
tooltips but recreate them in CP itself, no?

Captivate 5 not recording on macbook
Hello,
I am trying to record on a slide in captivate 5. After confirming all settings, nothing happens when I click on the record button . This only applies to when I'm trying to record a video. Recording audio is perfectly fine. Could this be a hardware or software issue? Thanks!
I have a macbook pro 2010.Hi jethromax22,
The Settings on this window look fine. This would not help resolve the issue.
Could you please send us a screen shot of the main recording window? i.e
Also,
On clicking the Record button in the above dialog, do you see a message box for counting down "3,2,1.. Press Cmd-Enter to End Recording"?

Captivate 5 Not Recording Completion in LMS
Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix? Learners have 3 attempts to complete the module. Attempts are recorded but not completion.
I am experiencing similar but inconsistent issues with Captivate content in SumTotal LMS (SCORM 1.2) -- athough I have used other e-learning authoring software, I am admittedly new Captivate user so assume that I am just unclear on exact settings to use when publishing for and/or uploading to LMS. But I still can't figure out where/how to report simple completion of course (no real testing/scoring) to LMS, and can't seem to find any other documentation or discussions around these LMS publish settings, so any input/advice would those experienced would be much appreciated. Thanks, JC

Captivate 4 not recording mainframe emulator demo
I had used previous versions of Captivate to record simulations of our proprietary mainframe system. Since upgrading to 4 a couple years back, I am no longer able to get Captivate to recognize the keystrokes or the screen changes. It captures the first screenshot only and then nothing. Could there be an option/property I have set wrong?
Thank YouHi there
Is this really the same question you asked a year ago?
Click here to view that thread
And if it is the same issue, is it one you never resolved or is it one you resolved for a while and it has since returned?
Sometimes the answer is simple. Perhaps you turned off Automatic recording and have shifted into Manual mode.

Captivate 7 - Not recording drop down menus
Hi - Last week I was able to record the movement of drop down menus and now it's skipping the movement. During play back nothing is showing as happening. My settings are Automatic / Demo / Automatic Panning. Thanks!
Hi
Have you modified AdobeCaptivate.ini?
I have added a HTML5 demo (published from CP7) which shows two runs of visiting drop down menus here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1796574/demo1.zip
In the first run, the entire navigation across all of the drop down menus got recorded.
In the second run, however, only the end points of the navigation got recorded.
This is to show that Captivate uses a set of heuristics to decide when to retain and when to throw away the in-between slides. A simple rule of thumb is, if the mouse landing click has a "good correlation" with the intermediate slides w.r.t x,y coordinates and the amount of screen changes that happened during the mouse navigations in-between, then the entire navigation is retained in the recording.

Captivate 6 not recording screen correctly
Hi, I recently had Captivate 6 installed as part of the Adobe e-Learning Suite on my work PC, which is running Windows 7. Unfortunately, there seems to be an issue with recording - I set it up to capture this area:
...but instead, what it captures is this:
It looks as if the recording area has shifted 10cm to the left. I tried lowering my screen resolution (currently 1680x1050) but it didn't seem to make any difference. Has anyone encountered this problem and is there any solution?
FionaUPDATE: I installed the latest version of Java on my PC and now it's working!

Captivate 5 not Reporting Quiz scores correctly in LMS
Our organization is transitioning to Captivate 5 from Captivate 4. We are using SumTotal as our LMS. I took a CP4 project and converted to CP5, then uploaded it as a test. The results were dismaying.
Captivate 5 Scorm 1.2 apprears to send scores to the LMS instead of scaled scores. For example; If you have 20 questions the scaled score should always be 0 to 100.
In the example I converted from Captivate 4, I have 15 quiz questions. In my first try I scored 60% on the Quiz. Captivate reported to the LMS a percentage complete of 0 and a score of 90%. In my second attempt I scored 80% (which is required for passing from within the Quiz setup) and Captivate reported to the LMS 100% complete and a score of 100%.
I repeat, all worked fine with the same course published as Captivate 4.
I work for a very large multinational company. This is a killer for us if we want to go forward with Captive 5. In fact, I have just spent a lot of money upgrading everyone in my department - money wasted if we can't use the output with our LMS.
Does anyone have any ideas, and is there a way to get to someone at Adobe if this forum is unable to provide answers?
Sorry to sound panicked, but I guess I am.
FrankHi all
You're absolutely right. Adobe silence is extremely unsatisfactory and unprofessional. Below are the email correspondences. Does anyone know who are the President or the CEO and the email address? I think it’s about time to find out why from the top man himself.

Hi Vish
The configuration is exactly as described in the Adobe help. Both the quiz and Wampserver is on the same machine. The rest is as per stated on the forum thread.
By looking at the results of the Cp5 Quiz Results Analyzer, does it make any sense? The statistics doesn't fit in at all.
Appreciate your interest in this issue. Hope we can work towards resolving this issue.

Have Adobe Captivate 6 (not interested in upgrading)- Struggling to publish a simulation in a format that QMP can pickup - QMP needs a qml file. previous versions had no problem all had tick boxes for QMP in the Quiz - Reporting Settings but this version does not have. If i publish to Flash QMP does not see the file.
Re:
The quiz review button is inconsistent - sometimes it shows the ticks and crosses other times it doesn't - did you find a solution? I'd dearly like to be able to tidy up the ticks!
Thanks

Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer not generating results
I am using Acrobat.com to track my quiz results. I currently have 26 modules, however 5 of them will not show results in the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer. I have tried the quizzes myself and posted the results, however it is still not showing results for the 5 courses. Any suggestions as to why 5 of the courses aren't generating?
Hello,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Do you have 26 different projects ?
Which version of Captivate are you using ?
Do you have MAC or Windows ?
Any Error message while generating results for those 5 courses ?
Thanks,

Problem with registering Captivate Quiz score in LMS
We are using Integrity e-Learning’s WBT manager for our
LMS. We have been using Captivate (SWF files) for several months to
show simulations for software. Generally we are quite happy with
the software.
We have been able to easily create a quiz (a Captivate
generated SWF file) and access it through the LMS (using a HTML
frameset), unfortunately we are having trouble passing the
numerical score the quiz generates to the LMS.
When a student takes a Captivate Quiz (bound into a SWF
file), the final score displays on the final frame of the SWF file,
but is not getting passed to the LMS. All the other data seems to
be fine. So far we are only viewing status using the Lesson
Progress Report, which indicates “no score (n/a)”. In
this case we are embedding the SWF file into a HTML page contained
in a frameset.
We have been able to get a score successfully passed to the
LMS if we link directly to the .swf file, bypassing HTML
altogether, unfortunately we also get a warning about using Flash
Player and multiple warnings about downloading the
“aicc_int.asp” file.
I have read through:
“Output Options in Captivate” by Andrew Chemey
(Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4)
“Exploring Quizzing in Macromedia Captivate” by
Mark Fletcher
“Integrating Captivate-Generated Learning Objects into
WBT Manager, Part 1 and 2” by Carol Fallon
Has anyone had this problem and solved it?
TPKPlease contact me at [email protected] I have many
examples of Captivate passing scores sucessfully back to WBT
Manager. So hopefully I can help you figure out what is going on.
