CS6 Creative Cloud and Apps are currently unusable. Any ideas. Thanks.

This is my current setup:
Mac 2 x 2.26 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
20 GB 1066 Memory
Apps and startup on SSD
User account on 2 TB internal Drive
Running 10.8.1
CS5 runs perfectly
Using latest version of Suitcase for font management
These are my issues?
1. Photoshop works, but does not load anything when initiated through - edit image with - in any other app. Except for the following error:
Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder.
2. InDesign will not open at all
3. Illustrator Will not open at all
4.  Flash opens.
5. Dreamweaver opens.
6.  At work, every time an app is opened it tells me the trial is up and makes me log in. This is a slightly older machine attached to a completely different Adobe ID for the day job..

It completely seems to be bad permissions issue on the OS.
Step-1. You can try to give Access to Adobe folders below:
/Applications/Adobe*
/Applications/.AdobePatchFiles (hidden, use Go > Go to Folder command)

Step-2. Try to run Disk Permissions Reset Utility by following steps below:
1.  Open the Disk Utility by selecting Applications -> Utilities -> and then Disk Utility.
2.  Select your primary hard drive (the one that you loaded OS X on) and then click the Verify Disk Permissions button.
3.  Disk Utility will check your drive for any permission errors. In the example screenshot below there are none  If any errors do appear, click the Repair Disk Permissions button.

    If you updated the desktop installer and the screen is blank: try this:
    Rename the opm.db file.
    Close the Creative Cloud application if it's running.
    Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
    Rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db
    Launch Creative Cloud

    Gawd, how have you managed not to update it?! The current version is Version 3.1.2 (4525.22)!
    Small wonder it won't work with 10.4.11.
    Have you ever used Software Updater to check whether there are any updates available for your Mac?
    I would recommend that you download the latest version from here:

    But please make sure that you download the version for Tiger and not for Leopard.
    BUT before you do so, and before you install it, please go through the following routine:
    Repairing permissions is an important part of regular maintenance, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
    Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
    In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
    This only takes a minute or two.

    If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
    Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

    If all is OK, install the new Safari, and REBOOT, then repair permissions again.

    I had liquid damage to my phone and had to receive a new one so I went home to restore it to its old settings from my back up on 5/8/11. I've had an iphone since 2008 so I have a lot of data and apps saved on to my computer, many of which I paid for. When my back up finished all my music, contacts, photos were restored but none of my apps. Can someone please help me get them back? Thank you!

    After you restore from backup, you MUST sync to restore your iTunes content. No iTunes content is included in the iPhone backup. Your apps should be in your iTunes library, just sync them back to your phone. If for some reason your apps are not in your library, you can re-download them for free:

    For starters, have him open Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, select the volume (the indented listing) and Verify Disk. If it reports any problems, have him try a Safe Boot by holding the Shift key at startup. This boot will take much longer than usual. It's checking and trying to repair the drive directory, if possible. Once in Safe Boot, have him repair Permissions.

    Also, have him try a PRAM Reset. At the startup chime, hold down CMD-Option-P-R together, listen for two more chimes, total three, then let go to finish booting.
    Also, is he running any AV? If so, have him uninstall it. It might be responsible for this behavior. (There are no viruses for OS X.)

  • Should I uninstall Creative Cloud and CC apps before using migration assistant to my new imac?

    I have heard that Creative Cloud and CC apps dont transfer well with the Migration Assistant from Apple.
    I have a new iMac with Yosemite. Should I uninstall everything before using the Migration Assistant and then re-install Creative Cloud and apps afterward by downloading from the Adobe site again on the new iMac?
    Is there a link to full instructions how to completely uninstall CC and the apps and clean up?

    Try to Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app
    Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later
    If that doesn't help.
    Try to uninstall the product and run the Adobe CC cleaner tool to be on a safer side.
    Install Creative Cloud app, Install the product again.
    Kindly revert if the problem still persists.

  • Why is it so hard to find the download link for the Creative Cloud desktop app?

    So - I have a subscription and I needed to move the location where the files were on my computer. The easiest path is to uninstall and reinstall. So I used the Adobe uninstaller tool (which, even though I told it to uninstall everything, does not uninstall everything). Then I rebooted. All Adobe CS creative cloud desktop apps are gone. I log into my Adobe account online, and the only thing I can find are downloads for downloading "trials" of the adobe apps - this is whilst being logged in. And to download the trial it starts to ask me questions about how I will use it etc. so I didn't bother.
    When I go to the page that has what ostensibly looks like it will lead to the Adobe creative suite downloader/desktop tool, it takes me to the list of ALL adobe desktop app "trials".
    I finally found it by hunting around in the help screens and Google for five minutes, but it's still obnoxious that there is no link to directly download the Creative Cloud desktop app here, which is where it sends you:

    Instead all you see are a bunch of "Trial versions", even though these are included with the adobe creative cloud subscription.
    So I don't really have a question, more of a rant at the stupidity of the way this is set up. When I'm logged in, I should be able to access the downloads, or at least the tool that lets me download the downloads, without spending time hunting around for it. It's ridiculous that it's not set up that way currently.

    I'm not on a network and I didn't change anything on my secutiy setups, so I got in touch to the customer support. They checked my computer and found nothing wrong, so they uploded some log files to analyse the case. I'm waiting for a answer.

  • Error Code 201 and 213 when trying to install any Adobe application / Update my Creative Cloud Desktop App. Have tried troubleshooting with Online Chat Agents, no luck.

    I have been trying for 2 days now to get this resolved.
    Computer hashard wired internet connection, running Windows 7 Home Premium. No other issues with downloading or uploading from any other sites or programs. No other network issues reported on other computers.
    It started when I went to install Lightroom through my Creative Cloud. It prompted me to update my Creative Cloud Desktop App, which I went to do and then promptly got Error Code 201. I restarted my Creative Cloud and then skipped the update, hoping it was just an issue with that specific download. I clicked to install Lightroom and the same thing happened, Error code 201.
    I restarted my machine, and tried again. Same issue.
    I contacted Support. They had me go in and change a bunch of folder names to and add "old" to the end of them and then had me try using the Adobe Cleaner tool, which did not work. He had me go in and change some internet settings, still nothing. Same issues as before, only now with all the renaming of things I cannot even open programs I had previously been able to open like Photoshop.
    He instructed me to reinstall the CC Desktop App because the Cleaner tool was not recognizing that it existed anymore (probably something to do with renaming files.. just saying) and now I get the 201 Error when I try to reinstall the CC Desktop App.
    I ran out of time and had to stop after being on with them for over an hour.
    Today I contact back and was instructed to create a new user account on my computer and try downloading and installing the application in the new user. Same errors. 213 at first, restarted my computer and then got Error Code 201 again.
    I am getting really frustrated and really behind on my work. Any information someone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Currently waiting for a chat person to be available again.
