CS6 Creative Cloud but also have DVD

Good afternoon,
I have subscribed to Creative Cloud and have been a member for 5 months. I realise I can only register it on TWO machines but only use it on one when it is 'live'.
However, I also have an upgrade DVD from CS 5.5 to CS6. I tried loading this on to my 3rd Mac and when loading it is saying you already have CS6 on two machines which is quite correct.
How can I bypass Creative Cloud and use the copy I have of CS6 from DVD as a seperate entity on this particular Mac?
Thank you.

You might have bought the creative cloud and the upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 with same Adobe ID.
Which is wrong to can only have either Perpetal license or a CCM subscirption on one Adobe ID.
Contact Support to get this checked and get CCM subscription transfered to a different Adobe ID.

Hi, i want to buy a licence of Creative Cloud, but i have one question... Whats the best choose for a little enterprise?? And if i buy a Single Person Licence, on how many pc's can i install the suite??
    Thanks for helping

    no, that's incorrect.
you can activate on 1 mac and 1 pc, or 2 pc's, or 2 mac's, concurrently.
i have cc installed on 2 pcs and 1 mac.  i can only activate 2 at any one time which works well for me because my pcs are at home and my office and i use them most of the time.
but when i travel i take my macbook so i just deactivate one or both of my pcs (uninstalling is not needed) and sign in to my macs cc app.

  • Installed most apps on creative cloud but now have to upgrade to 64 bit

Hi, I am am new to Creative Cloud, I succesfully (with patience) downloaded and installed 11 of the Creative tool apps available to me. I could not download Photoshop CS6, after many attempts.  My OS is 32 bit and I was told I really should be running on a 64 bit. OK so I have the opportunity to upgrade but my question is:
Do I transfer these apps to the new system by CD or mobile drive or can I re-download them through the Adobe Application Manager through my account?  I would expect I am only allowed the one download, your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Thank you John.
@Bunch3 - Photoshop has both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The 64-bit version is recommended but you should still be able to run 32-bit Photoshop on your machine. If Photoshop is failing to download from the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) you can go to the Photoshop landing page http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html and in the dark gray sidebar on the right click on the yellow Try button. Download the installer and run it. Sign in with your Adobe ID. The only shortcoming of this method is that AAM may still show an Install button for Photoshop.

  • I recently purchased a subscription to Creative Cloud but only have access to trial versions of the apps. What should I do?

Every time I try to download apps to my creative cloud desktop app, it only allows me to use trial versions of every application. But, I just paid for a subscription. What should I do?

  • CS6 Creative Cloud subscription also valid for CS7?

If I purchase Creative Cloud CS6 today and CS7 is avalable in e.g. two months - can I use the CS7 applications within my subscription too?

That's really a great point.  Historically with Adobe software, "updates" has meant bug & compatibility fixes (which are always free for everyone), whereas "upgrades" has meant getting the next version and major new features (which are included now with CC).  Lately the use of these terms has been a bit muddled.  This post from Adobe's John Nack tries to clarify.

  • I have got Indesign CS6 (Creative Cloud subscription) but I also need Indesign CS5.5. Can I buy it?

I have got Indesign CS6 (Creative Cloud subscription) but I also need Indesign CS5.5. Can I buy it?

Adobe CS 5.5 is not available for sale from any reliable source, including Adobe.
If you see offers for the product on other websites, BEWARE! It's highly likely that they are bogus software, which is not legally obtained or licensed.

  • Can I install CS6 from Creative cloud and still have my existing CS5 software?

Basically, here is the deal.  I have been working on a couple projects in CS5 but just bought CS6 creative cloud as I want to start using it.  The question I have is, can I still use CS5 to finish up these projects and install CS6 at the same time so I can start working on new ones in CS6?  Or do I need to wait and install CS6 once I am completely done with the projects that are using CS5.  I understand that CS6 would be able to open my CS5 projects, but I just want to finish in CS5 since that is what I am used to.
Also, on a side note.  With the cloud, will I be able to install CS6 on my desktop at home and my laptop?  Thanks.

    Yes.
CS6 installs into a separate directory to CS5 and can still be used at any time after CS6 is installed.

Yes, each Adobe license permits a maximum of two activations. So you can install on two separate computers.

"Are there any unique benefits that come with my paid membership?
Yes, as a member of Creative Cloud, you get many benefits that you do not get when you purchase a traditional shrinkwrapped product:
Access to both the Mac OS and Windows® versions of the desktop applications and the ability to install them on your primary computer and one backup computer. So, if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, you can install your applications on both as long as they are not running at the same time. See the product license agreements page for more information."

  • Considering moving to the Creative Cloud but have an important question...

I'm considering moving to the Creative Cloud but have some concerns. if, for example, after spending 1500+ over the next three years on the Creative Cloud and by then, presumably at version CS9 or CS10, will I be able to continue using the CS9 or CS10 products as I would have, had I bought the retail software?
I know if I continue to simply buy upgrades to retail items and stop at CS9 I will be able to use those products forever so I am not seeing the incentive here if that is the case.
Your confirmation is much appreciated so that I can move on to decide on my next steps.
    Cheers,
    Chris

No. It's an all-or-nothing exit policy at the moment.
When you stop paying your monthly fee, you lose all access to Adobe software (unless you already own a pre-Cloud version which you can fall back on).
Many requests have been made to relax the exit policy and permit users to perhaps pay a residual fee to keep using whichever version is current when they leave the Cloud. But that hasn't yet been offered by Adobe. Personally I don't expect it to ever be offered.
PS how much will you spend on the retail versions over the next three years given that you must upgrade with every new version under Adobe's new upgrade policy introduced with the CS6 cycle? i.e you can no longer skip a version and still qualify for upgrade pricing next version.
Licensing issues aside, in effect, you never really "own" the software if you want to stay current. Both Cloud and retail are now effectively subscription models.
The choice really boils down to upfront $$ vs monthly $$.

The primary incentive is full access to the entire Master Collection for a low monthly fee. Don't have to outlay thousands of dollars upfront.
    You also get:
additional Cloud services (host up to 5 websites etc)
multi-platform licenses (activate on Win/Win, Mac/Mac or Win/Mac for the same monthly fee. Retail items are single platform only)
early access to new software features for Cloud members only. As soon as Adobe finishes writing and testing the code, Cloud members get it. Retail users must wait for CS6.5 or CS7. Depends if living on the bleeding edge of Adobe software interests you. As we all know, change is the only constant these days.

If you want to purchase CS6 it can be purchased thru the page linked below:
    CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
You can also use CS6 as part of your sunscription to the Creative Cloud.
If you want to get the trial version of CS6, you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • The Creative clouds says I have Photoshop downloaded but I cannot find it help.

I downloaded Photoshop but then I had I dumped it in the trash, but now I'm trying to get it again and the creative cloud says I have it installed but I cannot find it anywhere. So please help.

    Maybe this can help.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
In the future you may want to use the uninstaller/s instead of trying to manually delete Adobe applications.

  • I have creative cloud - but cant open acrobat XI pro?

i have creative cloud - but cant open acrobat XI pro

I had creative cloud for a year. Something in the program was corrupted, my Mac Pro uninstalled it with Apple’s Security uninstaller which obviously left out some key Adobe unimportant file but the Apple message was an  instruction to reinstall. Sounds simple enough unless you are Adobe and believe your programs are part of the NSA’s drone program both recording your personal calls but also secretly scanning your systems for illegal software. LOL
For whatever reason the Install program for Acrobat wan’t on my system, yet the “Creative Cloud” showed that it was indeed installed and performed perfectly with a bug green checkmark. The smarter people are, the harder it is for them to understand simple problems and solutions. Its why they take those people and put them in a corner away from the world. Trying to explain that my Macbook Pro did not use the software written by the hand of god "Adobe uninstall" so trying to run it after the fact just gave me errors. Plus, no where on my system was an Acrobat Install so I'm assuming it was inadvertently deleted by the internal Mac uninstall software.  After several calls to Adobe, maybe 2.5 hrs just trying to explain what happened, and that I need to reinstall Acrobat, so turn off the flag that prevents me from installing a fresh copy. Why? because the twenty year tradition of spending 98% of their development time just trying to figure out methods to prevent licensed users from the egregious sin of trying to install another copy on a second machine, which as long as only one copy was running at a time does NOT violate the approved standard software license.
So for 7-8 of the 12 months I paid monthly subscription rates, I still do not have Adobe Acrobat and just cancelled the subscription today after they raised it by $10 more per month. I've struggled with this company for over 25 years and they have the most propeller heads of any one on the industry and are proud that only a small few can actually figure out how to use it.  I wish you luck but they provided  me three solutions the tech dreamed up for fixing my problem which underscored their complete ignorance of the MAC OS X Operating System or their own creation of the Creative Cloud that in and of itself, needs removed from every system. I cancelled, and they debited by account anyway. Someone needs to send them a gift wrapped present via email to thank them for the best years of my life.
I only use Photoshop & Lightroom 5 plus Acrobat. And I truthfully don't need them to obtain it.  The concept is a perfect use of cloud technology, until you add in the Adobe Windows Vista coding combined with their paranoia that someone will figure out a way to utilize two copies on the same license. I'm a finance guy and these are not the things that increase revenue. They just continue to piss off the customer base..
Make sure you are first installing Creative Cloud and installing and updating from that program that will always run in the background and when you want to peruse their other software, that is where you do it. It is also where they notify you of updates and of course the green check mark which is their lock from you ever being able to download another copy. if you download Acrobat into your downloads but trying to execute it will be a futile effort even though it would solve my and maybe even your issue while the Creative Cloud correctly sees that you have one licensed running copy. However, that solution almost threw him into a virtual coma. But then he reduced himself to utilize common sense and  began to apply what two hours of previous conversation explaining that there had to be a method to temporarily neutralize the cloud monitoring of your system just for five to ten minutes, just enough time to reinstall a fresh copy of Acrobat and insert the same license. After bringing up the full blown acrobat software and its running perfectly, Adobe could reactivate the interface with its web based system and the monitoring of your hard drive, specifically all your Adobe software and now the green check mark actually is correct and you are back in business. However, in Adobe land, I just articulated what was a version of Alice in Wonderland. That solution never happened and therefore i decided to cancel the subscription. Adobe will have a nuclear feature that removes you and probably the software. Then after a couple months, it may be possible to resubscribe and have the system treat you as new, thus allowing the reinstallation of any software which surely had updates or went up to a version slightly higher. However, now I think they have defeated their original marketing scheme and overpriced AGAIN which will drastically reduce their renewals which are auto yearly auto renewals where the user is supposed to receive several emails regarding the renewal date, the price change, etc. Just using my on file account and debiting my account, I can reverse that.
I wish you much more success during your year long commitment and hope that you at least receive the value of the subscription because Adobe has never been one to offer a conselation by extending your original subscription at your original rate, but we aren’t in OZ and he name wan’t Dorothy.   Best of luck!

The CC does not needs any serial number, it is based on Adobe ID.
