CS6 desktop apps and Creative Cloud

Hi,
This may be a dumb question [request!] but I bought the CS6 design and web premium [as disks] back in May. More recently, I signed up to Creative Cloud [free version] just to allow me to sync desktop apps with the just bought touch apps on my iPad.
The trial version of Eddge Animate is about to expire: is it possible to swap/trade-in Flash Pro CS6 and/or Fireworks CS6 for Edge Animate apps.
Basically, I won't use [or can live without] some of the installed [from disk] CS6 apps but would like to install the Edge apps - swap the ones I don't want with the ones I do want.
Thanks
steve

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately this is probably not possible because Edge Animate is only available as subscription, and currently only as part of Creative Cloud Membership. You may be able to get a subscription to just Edge Animate by itself in the future but I don't think that option is available yet.

This movie gives you a quick overview of how to download and install the Adobe Application Manager and all of the desktop applications that come with Creative Cloud membership.
    Watch the movie (02:17 min.)

    Completely agreed TristanSF.
Also, this page, https://creative.adobe.com/#apps, has a Download link for Gaming Tools that only gives an error and no download. I asked the support team via chat and I was told that he would recommend the phone service to me.
Wich I called and I was told they dont know at this time.
The download link takes you to this page: http://www.adobe.com/go/GamingTools
That link forrwards you to: https://www.adobe.com/products/gaming/tools.html
That link opens up a blank page and my web browser just tells me "Error on page" and leaves an Exclamation point inside of a triangle at the bottom left.
No download starts or stops, no activex prompt, nothing.

See how easy it is to download and install the Adobe Application Manager and all of the desktop applications that come with Creative Cloud membership.

I think there's a way to change the default directory. I'm not a admin or anything, just a normal user who works with motion graphics.
In the AAM window, your full name (that appears to be grayed out) of your account will appear at the upper-left corner. Click on that and then click Preferences.
I think from there, you can change the default location to wherever you want it to go, but it might be like you said - it isn't made exactly the way to use for a specific program like making a folder for each different software on each seperate partition. That procedure would be having to go change the default directory every time installing a new program...
I don't mind too many safety notification pop-ups just as long its communicating with me. I worry that if I ended up with a virus and had to resort to using Safe-Mode and then System Restore on a PC, then all of my apps will be synced prior to the restore date file it must load will be removed without clearing the initial installation data which means that the AAM will still appear that my apps are "up to date" when they're not even installed on my PC!!

It would have been nice to have a video on how to install the Touch Apps to your mobile device before just jumping to the Mobile Device and...."now I open the Touch App on my iPad." huh?

  • How do i download desktop apps in Creative Cloud once membership is paid?

I have a receipt and an order number but my account does not allow me to download the desktop apps.
I only have the option to download trial or buy it. I have tried restarting whilst being logged out of my account and then logging back in but it did not help.
The support available from Adobe has not been useful so far. Can anyone help or know the reason why i might be having this problem?

  • What is the difference on the desktop app for Creative cloud between "install" and "try"?

Basically that is my question. Does anyone know if the "try" apps are extra money? thanks

    Correct.
Install usually means its included in your membership and can be downloaded for free.
Try usually means try for 30 days then spend more money if you want to continue using it after that.
Most Cloud software is included in your membership. Which software is showing Try?

  • CS5 to CS6 upgrade and creative cloud pricing

I dont understand adobe's logic with pricing of upgrades compared to the cloud.
I bought the cs5 master collection upgrade from a single suit at least in part because I assumed each subsequent upgrade would be about $800.  I skipped cs5.5 because it
    a) it was priced as a whole version number upgrade
    b) my core apps werent updated.
Now I come to upgrade to CS6 and find that I have to pay again for a single suit upgrade. There is no upgrade path from CS5 master to CS6 master.  That is a rip off to start.
I also find that even paying the full price on yearly contract its far cheaper to go with the cloud over the expected lifetime of the product: over 2 years its $1200.  The upgrade path I have available is around $1500.
How does that make the upgrade viable?
And finally having to post this here because there is no formal route to contact adobe sales via email. If anyone can provide one i'd be obliged.

I have had Adobe software for a long long time, and I decided to drop my perpetual licenses for the Creative Cloud. I upgrade every version anyway (more or less) so it's not a big deal for me price wise.
I also use more than just the Production suite software (Acrobat and Dreamweaver) so Creative Cloud sort of consolidates all of that.
My current experience is...the Creative Cloud is a work in progress. There are still features that aren't there yet, like the Creative Cloud desktop app, and some other functionality that's all coming sometime later this summer or this year. The online storage is nice. The website hosting is nice too (although I haven't quite got it working yet).
I do have access to other programs I didn't have before like InDesign and Fireworks, so I've found those interesting to toy around with. Over the years I'd occasionally get an InDesign layout from someone and be unable to do anything with it, so that does solve a rare problem for me as well.
I'd say if you qualify for the discount pricing (which means you're either a student/teacher/edu subscriber, or own an existing CS3, CS4 or CS5 suite) then the $29/month is awesome. Just do it. If you're looking at the $49/month price, maybe not so much.
If you are only an infrequent creative type and only do video/image/print projects occasionally, go with the month-to-month plan and you don't have to worry about getting stuck on the long term, and you only pay for the software whenever you need it.

  • CS6 Subscription and Creative Cloud

Hey folks, regarding CS6, I was wondering, if anyone is considering subscription pricing, and if so are you thinking in month-over-month of yearly subscription , and what may be the reason for this.  Also wondering if anyone can share their experience using Adobe's creative cloud.  Will appreciate any advice you may have.

  • Using Creative Cloud 2014 apps, but Creative Cloud 2014 desktop app never installed.

I have been trying to solve this issue for months now. When I installed the 2014 update for Creative Cloud, my CC desktop app disappeared (the app that shows you updates and is a shortcut to all apps, etc). Now, applying updates and getting fonts is a real pain. Also, when I installed the 2014 update, instead of overwriting my current apps like it always had, it installed the 2014 ones and kept the old versions. This caused many issues when I uninstalled the old versions. However, I never uninstalled the desktop app, it just disappeared during the install of 2014. Is there any way to solve this issue besides uninstalled and re-installing all the apps? If that is the only solution, will is cause any issues with documents I am currently working on?

    Hi Srezler,
Adobe CC-2014 is not an update but new version of the products that we offer to our customers that is the reason why it never deleted the older versions for you. While doing the update, Creative Cloud Desktop was never supposed to be removed from the machine and it seems like that it got removed may be because of corrupt installation ( Could be because of download corruption).
I suggest lets follow the below steps and suggest if this worked for you or not and accordingly we can proceed further.
    1) Perform an uninstallation fo CC Desktop application if it is available in the Control Panel ( Utilities > Adobe Installers for MAC).
    2) Navigate to the following locations and Rename OOBE to OOBE_old.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE   ( /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE for MAC )
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE for MAC).
Post doing the above steps, please use the below link for installation of Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  • Why isn't Acrobat XI listed with my other CS6 apps in Creative Cloud

All my installed CS6 apps are listed and easily updatable except for Acrobat XI.  How can I add Acrobat to the list of other CS6 apps in Creative Cloud, so that I can easlily manage updates?  Thanks.

    Hi FrankFS,
Restart your computer and check, if doesn't help then:
Sign out and sign in back in the Adobe Creative cloud applicaton, click on the Gear icon>> Preferences>> Account>> Sign out.
Make sure that the product is activated.
    Thanks!

How do you run apps on creative cloud? I can't seem to run them or see them on my desktop

    Hi JasonLuong,
You will have to go to www.creative.adobe.com and login with your Adobe Id on which you have purchased the subscription.
You can go to the download center and then start downloading all the cc apps available. It will first download and install the Creative cloud desktop tool in your computer. This creative cloud desktop will show you the option to download all the CC programs, the updates, etc.
    Thanks
