  • Why is My MetaData Window of Bridge CS6 Displaying Incorrect File info?

The File Properties tab in the MetaData Window of Bridge CS6 is saying that my file is 72 ppi but when I open my file in PS it is actually 300 ppi 15x10 inches. See screen grab below. I understand that 72 ppi at 125" x 41.7" is the same as a 300 ppi file that is 30" x 10" or 9000 x 3000 pixels dimensions. But why is bridge making this conversion and displaying the file resolution as being 72 ppi when the file is 300 ppi? Is there a preference setting somewhere that I need to change?
When I look at these same files from another networked machine using Bridge CS6 the Metadata window is showing the files as being 300 ppi? Is there a setting inside Bridge somewhere that is making it show all files in the Metadata window as being based upon a 72 ppi resolution?

    jonnymo,
I believe I should have said Yosemite/Column view.
Has the issue appeared after an upgrade to Yosemite?

  • CS6 display is too small

I just purchased a new windows PC with resolution 3200x1800 and the display of all my CS6 production software are really small and hardly viewable. There is no option on the PC to adjust programs size, only display text and icons on the desktop.  Can anyone help?

There is no option. CS6 does not support High-DPI displays on Windows and even on Macs, Retina support was/ is limited to Photoshop and Illustrator. You can only forcibly reduce the overall screen resolution at the cost of things losing sharpness.

  • Indesign CS6 display issues on macbook retina

    Hi
Can anybody help? I have recently got indesign cs6 for my macbook pro retina and to my horror discovered it is not capable of displaying properly on the reitna. I also understand there is no quick fix for this, in fact it wont be fixed. So the display is pixilated, does anybody know whether or not plugging the mac into a non retina display monitor will overcome this issue or is it the way the retina reads the software? Basically will it still look pixilated on a monitor? Please help me

that's why i am asking, i'm not tech savvy (cleary) but i wondered if it was the screen on the mac or the way the mac manages the software. It sounds like a silly question (to you) but i thought a seperate monitor that isnt HiRes may display it better or does a monitor just replicate the screen of the mac....see this is how little i know!

  • Photoshop CS6 Display is WAY to small.

I have a new laptop with windows 8 and it has a recommended screen resolution of 3200 x 1800 which I would like to keep. When I got into my Photoshop CS6 however everything is so small I can hardly see it. What setting do I need to change in Photoshop to adjust the display setting so it is the same size as the other elements on my computer? I do not want to change the display settings of my computer. I have tried that and it makes everything else on my computer too big. Thanks so much for your help.

Photoshop CC 2014 (version 15) introduced 200% UI scaling for Windows.
    Photoshop CS6 is version 13.

  • Will Photoshop CS6 display 30-bit-color with two GPUs?

    Hello there!
I  think about purchasing a small Nvidia Quadro, which supports 30-bit-color, since its not available on my currrent GTX 780Ti running on Windows 7 Ulitimate x64.
It is not a big deal to set the quadro, once installed, as the responsible GPU for color and OpenCL-acceleration...
    BUT:
as long as the 780Ti has around 999999x times more computing-power than the small quadro (around 250 €), it would be nice to profit
of this as well. at the same time.
So: is there a way to use the Quadro purely for "displaying and color" and the 780ti for accelerating tasks in Photoshop CS6?
    I'm afraid not..
    but cheer me up pls.
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the quick response!
unfortunately that's what I expected to hear.
It's a shame that Nvidia wont enable the 30-bit-feature under windows or mac until you
spend a few thousand euros for a K5000 or K6000
I hope that there will be a workaround for that soon. (maybe some tweaked quadro-drivers as I read a few years ago)
    Thanks so far!

  • ID CS6 Display Performance Issue

Evere since upgrading to InDesign CS6, my Display Performance seems to render visuals erraticaly. As a default I keep everything set to "Typical" (under View > Display Performance). I have been noticing that some pages will render my placed graphics as though my DP is set to "Fast" (by showing solid grey boxes). I've also noticed when I change my setting to "High Quality", some of the pages will still render as "Fast" and some as "Typical". This is happening to different pages in the same document, but also happening in different (not all) of my documents.
I'm wondering if anyone else is having a smiliar problem?

That's certainly not typical. One possibility is that object level dispaly settings are enabled, and set to lower quailty for some reason on these images.  Another possibility is that your prefs are hosed. See Replace Your Preferences

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 display question

I am a landscape photographer.  Many times I shoot multiple exposures of the same scene to combine them later in HDR.  These are generally 3 or 5 exposures taken at the same time.  It would be very useful to see each set of multiple exposures on a separate line in Adobe Bridge so I can quickly choose which set to use for processing in HDR.  Does anybody know how to do that?  I could not see it in the View options in the menu bar of Bridge.  I am using Adobe Bridge CS6 (5.0.1.21) on MAC OSX 10.6.8. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

You can't do so in Bridge when having different amounts of series. If you shot always 5 you could drag the content window to a new size in combination with changing the thumbnail size so 5 thumbs would show in a row. The same with 3 but there is no way to have a content window showing 1 line with 3 and 1 line with 5 files in the same panel.
In filmstrip mode you have 1 single line but that does not meet you wishes also.
There is the option to auto stack for HDR or Photomerge (Stacks / Auto stack Panorama-HDR) but frankly spoken this sucks because it either does not do the job properly or simply crashes Bridge to my experience.

  • Bridge CS6 Display Problem

When I set up Bridge, I used 3 columns.  The left column contains the Files/Folders Panel with the Filters/Collections/Export Panels underneath.  In the middle is the Content Panel which is set to display 1 thumbnail wide.  To the right is the Preview Panel with the Metadata/Keywords underneath.
Everytime I close Bridge and reopen, the display shifts so that I get a larger Content Panel which now displays 2 or 3 rows of smaller thumbnails and correspondingly smaller Preview and Metadata/Keyword Panels.  Is there a way to make the display settings remain as I want them whenever I open Bridge?
    Thanks.

Sure, just make sure you SAVE the Workspace you create under a distinctive name.  See the Help files to learn about saving a work space if you've never done it before.
You also need to make sure you quit (exit) Bridge in an orderly fashion after recreating and saving your workspace, because Preferences are saved whenever Bridge quits normally, not when it crashes or you force quit it.

  • Text in Illustrator CS6 displays the red plus sign but there is no overset text. How can I remove?

I have some text blocks in Illustrator CS 6 that display the red plus sign that indicates overset text but there is no overset text. It occurs in files that were created with earlier versions of Illustator and now we are reworking them. It can't be deleted. I have cut the text in the box and pasted it into a new text box to no avail. It is not a screen artifact. I have tried copying everything in the file and pasting it into a new file and the little red plus sign comes along. It doesn't print, of course, but is driving me crazy...

I just tried, but the text is point type, not area type, so expanding the box makes the type bigger and doesn’t show extra space that might  be there. Looking at the hidden characters doesn’t show any extra returns. I also have a few of these plus signs that seem to be completely disembodied, just floating in space apart from any visible text. Thanks for your suggestion, though.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 displaying the wrong icon for certain file types

I recently upgraded to the Maverick and I noticed that my Dreamweaver changed some of my files' icon to Acrobat Reader symbol. This does not represent the actual file type. My most important files, such as mp3 and m4v, are not displaying correctly. My concern is that it is affecting my website. How do I change the icons back to the original file type icons? Much needed help! Thanks!

What do local file associations have to do with your website? You have a severely wrong understanding of this stuff. Anyway, file associations on Mac can be changed using a right-click and Get Info and then choosing a new default program for the file type.

  • Photoshop CS6 Display issues - After Windows 8 upgrade

Just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (64bit).  Now the background interface in Photoshop CS6 keeps changing when I click the image, the background, the layer and the crop tool.  I get transparent, black and various grey.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled PS CS6 with no change.  I did not have an issue in Windows 7.  The rest of CS6 runs fine. Can anybody help?  Thanks

What is the make and model of your video card?
What is the number and date of the installed video driver?
Is that the latest release from nVidia, or AMD/ATI?
If it is not the latest, go to the nVidia, or AMD/ATI Web site, plug in your card, and your OS, then download and install the latest driver. Test.
Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you if you have the latest driver. Verify that from the mfgr's. Web site.
    Good luck,

  • Photoshop CS6 - Display won't refresh

I temporarily solved a crash-on-startup issue, as described in this post. However, after about 20 minutes of use, my display has stopped refreshing. I must do a quick zoom in/zoom out in order to get the refresh to occur.
An example would be creating a new solid colour layer. The new layer is visible in the layers palette, but the image has not updated. I can go and hide all layers, turn them all on, and nothing changes on the image display. If I do a quick CTRL+ / CTRL- then I see the change.
A restart of the application solves the issue. Is there a GPU memory leak perhaps? I'm using latest nVidia drivers for GeForce 9800M GTX/SLIe

Is there a GPU memory leak perhaps?
Does turning off OpenGL in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

  • Illustrator CS6 Display Performance

I've downloaded Design Standard CS6 to trial and I've noticed that both Illustrator and InDesign render .psd and .tif files more coarsley than in CS4. 300dpi images in CS4 were near perfect. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a solution. Surely I'm missing something here?
I use a 27" iMac (Intel Core i7) with 8 GB of memory and OS X.6.8.

    Hi Wade
Well that was what I was expecting, so I don't know what I am doing that's wrong. I've checked everything several times and I can't find the solution. Do you mind me asking what your running CS6 on?
