CS6 Does not Crop the way I want to Crop

It seems in previous versions of PS that when I wanted to crop a large photo just stored from the camera that all I had to do is select the Crop tool, select the size of the finished photo from the top line and then go inside the photo and drag the a rectangle around the portion of the photo I wanted to retain and it would end up, in this case as a 6x4 landscape photo. That is not the case in cs6. I get a photo that is 2x3 / 4x6 ratio in area but not in inchs. To get the actual 4x6 inch photo I need to go to Image and Size then input the inches which gave me the size with a very large pixel count. I was able to print but really not happy with the result. I tried the Classic version but it still did not do what I asked and still ended up going to Image > Size to enter the actual size of what I wanted in inches. Is there a way to just Crop a large photo to the actual inches I want with the Crop tool?

When you type the size 4X6 it defaults to pixels just type 4in and 6in and photoshop will use inches instead of pixels. Once you get it the way you like, create a preset so you don't have to type the in after the size anymore.

THat indicates a permissions issue on your preferences file and/ or your files are stored on some external or network device that doesn't use persistent file paths. Look into that.

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

If I recall, the picture package is in Bridge. Which was removed in CC and newer.
In bridge change the workspace to see the output options.

Videos not organized the way I want (I think)

I FINALLY downloaded videos to my iPod, however they are not being organized the way I want. Let me explain.
I have 32 videos purchased from iTunes, various artists, and only 1 video per artist. With audio files for artists with 1 to 3 songs I group them all into one artist called "VARIOUS" and the album is "iTunes". I delete all other information pertaining to the artist.
I applied this same reasoning to the videos, I also numbered them 1-32 in order that I bought them. However when I go to the videos on my iPod (when it's NOT connected to my computer) all the videos are in Alphabetical order of the artist, which I THOUGHT I deleted. So when I play them they play in alphabetical order on my iPod when it's NOT connected to my computer. When I play them through my iPod connected to my computer they play in the order I organized.
Is there something I missed? Is there a shuffle option for videos that I can't seem to find?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I checked the shuffle option and it does not work on videos, only Songs and Albums. Thinking it might be an iTunes 7.3 thing I removed that version and reinstalled the 7.2 version - same results.
I've tried numerous things and still have the same result:
With the iPod plugged into the computer, the videos are in the numerical order I placed them, and I can play them in that order in iTunes.
With the iPod on its own, the videos are in Alphabetical order and play that way all the time everytime.
UPDATE:
For some reason I NOW have an iTunes Videos playlist in Videos>Video Playlists and they are in the order I placed them.

CS6 does not play the sound

Hi, I bought CS6 some months ago, tried it briefly and it worked. Now, half a year later, I really want to work it, but it does not play, neither mp3 nor wav-files. I see the waveform, I can amplify it, cut parts of it, edit it otherwise, but the red lline and the yellow cursor do not start/move and I hear nothing. I clicked on the start btton and on the endless button, nothing happened. I am using Windows 8.1. Please, help....

Invariably, when Audition's transport doesn't start it's because you've lost the connection to your sound device. So go to the Preferences menu and Hardware setup, and re-establish it - you should be good to go then.

PP CS6 does not recognize the mp4 format!

I am used to CS6, and usually have no problem importing any high-quality video format. My hubby and I have the exact same computers and same desktop Adobe apps.
We recently changed computers, and now his desktop PP CS6 will not recognize an mp4 file, yet my desktop PP CS6 does!
How can I get the PP to recognize an mp4? And why would it recognize on one machine, yet not the other?

Range partitioning does not work the way I thought it would

I have a table that is range partitioned by number.
The number represents a date field of the form: YYYYMMDDHH24
However, there are extra values on the end of the field that represent an exact datestamp so a record looks like
20071102100000001
What I found in my tests is that if I have a partition based on range based on the following:
values less than (2007110210)
Any records inserted with a length greater than what is above automatically go to the future partition. It does not make sense that I would have to add another column and then do a substr on this field for just the first 10 characters to get them to go to the correct partition.
???? I am at a bit of a loss.

If you a column storing a timestamp you should use the timestamp or date datatype, not something else!!! Not only it makes not sense but you will have a lot of problems with that. To name only two: not consistent data and misleading the query optimizer.
As you defined, since 20071102100000001 is greater than 2007110210 (i.e. not less then), I don't see why do you expect something else.

Omg help-template does not create the page I want

I got my site all finished, it's uploaded, works fine online. I went to go make a site map in DW CS4 and I went to apply template(the one I have used for all my pages) and it came up completely different then what my template looks like. It is white, the links are blue(my sitemap links) and the pictures show up. So I closed out of everything restarted DW and went to new/page from template, the preview looks like what I want but when I click on create it comes up as the white page with the blue links. I do not know if I just hit a button or what but I am freaking out. I am a newbie to DW so I don't know if there is some setting I can fix and it will all be better. Please Help, it took me a long time to create the template I wanted and now it's gone!

Burning to Cd sends originals-modifieds not titled the way I want. newby

How can i name the files and have them be labled after burning so they can be printed with the file name on back by my local lab. I just purchased the mac and when I burn the files to cd it burns the originals and modifieds. I want to give a client a CD with only modified photos on it # the way I need them. Help me please. I am a photographer, I love the mac but this is confusing.

The best way to do this is to select the pics you want and use the File -> Export command. In the resulting dialogue you can specify the size of the pics (full size or otherwise) and the naming convention you want to use. (Filename or iPhoto title etc.)

Overflow:visible; not working the way i want.

ok so i have a problem with using overflow. I have an large image that I want to overflow outside the normal 940px wrapper on either side. So far it is all displayed fine however, im left with a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen which allows me to scroll over to the right untill all the image is displayed. I want it to only be visible if a large res display is being used. So how can i keep al this but remove the x axis scrol function?

JavaScript Code Not Operating the way I want it...

Got a bit of JavaScript that doesn't seem to work properly.
The line is as follows:

It is tied to a dropdown box called "Class" and when you choose a choice, the field is supposed to do one of those three equations based on your choice. I've assigned all the proper export values, but the field seems to only display the value of the first equation. It doesn't change or alter when I change my choice. The other fields the equations tie to (Level and CON) change the value accordingly, but it doesn't seem to register the value or variable of the dropdown box. I thought it might be a 'calculate order' problem, but that doesn't seem to be it as it is in it's appropriate spot in the way the rest of the calculations occur. If I assign a simple box to display the "values" of the dropdown box, it works like it should.
Am I missing something?

You're doing the classic mistake of using the assignment operator ( = )
where you should use the comparison operator ( == ).
So in all of your if-statements, like:
if (begin = 1)
You need to use:
if (begin == 1)

Code Completion does not show the Class I want

I try to get familiar with JDeveloper 10.1.3.
I have a simple project with an external Jar file.
In this project I am using the swing file-chooser dialog. So I want to use a FileFilter to let the user choose only one type of file.
At least there are three FileFilter:
1. java.io
2. javax.swing.filechooser (<- this is the one I want)
3. com.ibm.as400.vaccess.FileFilter
When i type FileFi the code insight is positioned on Float.
The little window mentions alt-enter to get the 3rd choice (ibm FileFilter)
So, do we have a bug, or is it just a config problem or do i want to much?

Hi,
The javax.swing.filechooser.FileFilter class is an abstract class. Though JDeveloper imports the class for you, it cannot be instantiated. E.g.
jfc.setFileFilter(new FileFilter());
doesn't work because you cannot instantiate an abstract class. JDeveloper will show this file as underlined in red to indicate this.
When importcing classes through pressing alt+Enter, a dilaog shows up that you select the wanted import through the arrow - down or - up key. Press Enter to confirm the selected choice
