CS6 download is a zip file that I cant open

I followed all the prompting and ended up with a package that contained a zip file.
when I double click on it it opens to another zip file. I was never prompted to open an installer (my research tells me I need this akamai installer). I didn't get the PKG or DMG. I'm soooo frustrated.
pop ups are off.
I have a brand new mac book pro running 10.9

you downloaded the window installer.  delete it.
if you follow all 7 steps, you can dl a trial via one of the links on this page:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.

  • We have just received an illustrator v17 file that we cant open with our boxed version 16.0.4...

is that is then - is this the start - it seems too soon - of the slippery slope that will see us have to upgrade to the new version - what meaningful reason makes these files incompatable... other than the obvious marketing ones...

    Scott,
It is hard that it is completely impossible to open a newer version (with Clipping Masks/flattening/whatever). But maybe it is a protection against unnoticed crucial/unacceptable changes in the files.

  • Why do all downloads get downloaded as a zip file?

Recently I was asked about downloading a file as a zipped file. I clicked ok. I didnt pay much attention to it as I thought it was just for that particular file. Now everything I download downloads as a zip file. Anyone know how to fix?

I have not seen this happen. Zip files get saved as Zip files. DMG files get saved as DMG files. In order to convert, and or make, a Zip file out of one or any number of files you need a program, or a feature in the OS, to create a Zip archive file with that one or many files.
Do you have such a program installed? Like Stuffit?

  • Mail program converts my csv attachment into a zip file that i am unable to open

when i receive email thecsv attachment is being converted in zip files that i am unable to open does anyone know why this is is happening is this a apple iisue or something to do with my exchange server?

Exe files are Microsoft Windows executables and will not work on Macs. Your Office 2008 is Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. That's why it works.

  • Does photoshop cs6 not save over files that are also open in cs5?

I started a project in CS5, saved it, left it open, then opened the same file in CS6.  Then I started steadily working on the file in CS6 for about 20 minutes.  I saved frequently while working in CS6.  Then Photoshop crashed, I believe because I had several smart objects open at once.  However, when I checked the file I had been saving, it was still in an identical state to when I stopped working on it in CS5.  Not only that, but the "recovered file" was about 10 minutes behind in CS6.
    This is really frustrating.

I don't know what went wrong for you but you are correct that it's normally possible for CS6 to save over a file that's open in CS5, and vice versa, and the same thing is possible with many other apps.
Furthermore, some apps watch for changes being made to a file which they have open and will automatically update the version of the file which they hold in memory with the modified version that another app has written to disc.
Of course, there are apps, databases for example, which do lock files which they have open.
None of that helps you, but just letting you know that you weren't wrong to expect your work to be saved.

  • Unzip (a zip file that has pdf files and a csv)

    Here is my requirement:
Receive a zip file (that contains PDF files and a CSV file) in BizTalk
Each record in CSV has a field which identifies the PDF files (by pdf file name) associated with it
For Example - record id on each row in CSV file identifies the pdf files associated with it,
                             pdf files have names starting with recordid_sequence number.pdf i.e. 11111_1.pdf, 11111_2.pdf,
                             11111_3.pdf...
Create two new zip files based on record id on the record in CSV file
For example - one zip file with a new CSV and related pdf files for record id range 1 to 5000
another zip file with a new CSV and related pdf filesfor all other record ids
    using BTS2010!!
"custom flat file disassembler component" or "use .Net helper class/service" or anything else? custom component should be fine to unzip and extract pdf files and read CSV? can go with another custom component on send to perform split
    and zip the files.
    Any recommendations?

    Hi,
You can built custom pipeline component for unzipping, I have wrote an article for it: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20640.biztalk-server-2010-processing-zip-message-having-multiple-type-files.aspx
Also sample is available : http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/BizTalk-Server-2010-42a1ae49/view/SourceCode
    I hope it helps !!

  • What to do with phoney iTunes gift cert Zip File? (After I opened it)

I foolishly opened the Zip file that came along with an email claiming to be an iTunes gift certificate (iT6561.zip).
I trashed the attachment, and emptied the trash. when I recognized my mistake. But, because i opened it first, I'm worried the next time I open iTunes, my iTunes account information will be stolen.
How do I get rid of the, now unzipped file that is lurking around in my system? (A spotlight search doesn't locate it). How do protect my iTunes account info next ime I open iTunes?
If this should be in a different discussio, please let me know where it should.
    Any help is appreciated.

The tunes that are on the desk top - will they play in iTunes without moving them OR do you get the (!)?
The thing to be aware of it that the iTunes Library and the iTunes Music Library.xml are what keeps track things for iTunes and other apps. These files by default are in HD>user>User Account>Music>iTunes. If they get moved then iTunes will create 2 new files and all you old info is gone.
If you are getting the you can try to put the tunes that are on the desktop back into the iTunes Music folder and see if iTunes will find them again.
If not, then you need to add those tunes that are on the desktop - but not in library. Once ALL the tunes are in one place then you should be able to delete the extras.
Don't delete the purchased tunes without having a backup of those tunes. iTMS is clear about the download policy. It is a one time download.

  • Need to edit a Captivate file that won't open. Can the SWF be edited?

We are currently using Adobe eLearning Suite 2 (Cp5).
We have 2 older Captivate files (Cp 3 or 4) that will not open; they act like they're opening but eventually they just time out without the error message that you normally get with a corrupt file.
So all we have access to are the SWFs & zip files that were uploaded into our LMS.
We are switching to a different LMS and need to quickly make an edit to these files before they are uploaded to the new LMS.
Is it possible to edit the SWF (delete about 30 seconds of content off the end of each file) and still have them function as far as registering completion? And if so, what program would I need?

Sorry, but only Adobe can speculate as to why the older files refuse to open in the newer version. Phase of the moon? Jupiter aligning with Mars while the house of the Moon is in retrograde?
Personally, I'm going with the Mass Coronal Ejection theory!
Assuming there is really no interaction going on, you *MIGHT* be able to fudge things to get that last 30 seconds to go away by playing the SWF and using Captivate to record the SWF as it plays.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How can I save a page offline? the "complete" option in "save as" produces a folder w/ 36 kb files that will not open.

the "complete" option in "save as" produces a folder w/ 36 kb files that will not open anything - can't I save the page as a single offline file?

This is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment.

  • I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?

I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?

Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.
    SO...
When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?
    Many Thanks!

  • Max number of files that can be opened in harddrive through AEBS?

What is the maximum number of files that can be opened in a external hard drive (Lacie 500 GB, USB 2.0) connected through the AEBS? Looks like there is a limit.
When I am trying to 'seed' files through a bit-torrent client (Azureus 2.5.0.4) many of them give an error "Error: too many open files". I never had this error before.
When I tried to delete a file in the hard drive, I got the error "too many open files". Then I stopped 'seeding' in Azureus and I was able to delete the file.

Thanks Chris,  it has almost become unwieldy now at this stage ... I'm actually thinking of calling another template for certain sections
    I belive this is possible..

I have recently received a pdf file that, although previously opened, now shows totally blacked out?  What can I do to correct this?

    Hi rdfnra,
Please check the Page Display preferences (File > Preferences/Acrobat > Preferences) and make sure that Show Large Images is selected. If sounds as though this PDF may have been created from a scanned document, and this preference is disabled.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Is it possible to embed a file that can be opened with another app in IBA?

We're making a music instructional book and would like to "embed" a .tef file that can be opened by the free tefPad reader:

I don't think it is possible, but wanted to see if there is some trick we haven't found.
    Thanks much for any insights.

Check  the iBooks Author,      > Help  > Media and Graphics and  / or if you an iTunes Connect account, open and > > Deliver your Content on the right of  some  of the options are links to a number of PDF, Asset Guides, Formatting guides etc,.
iBooks Authur has a few  widgets and  there are  many thrid party widget  makers online such as Bookry, who  may also be able to create what you want if its technically possible - at a price.

  • Is it possible to only view files that could be opened by a program?

Hello all, this is my first mac and for the most part I find it as good or better than windows in almost everyway. One feature that I guess I took for granted in windows was that it only displayed files that could be opened by a program in that program. For instance when I am in powerpoint and I want to open another powerpoint file, I would hit open and it would only display powerpoint files. I have noticed in OS X if you go to open, then enable all powerpoint files all it does is grey out everything but the powerpoint files. Is there anyway instead of graying them out, it just doesn't display them like what happens in windows? Thanks for your help, Scott

This has nothing to do with the OS. It's controlled by the individual program. The programmer has to write the specific code for what will or will not be displayed in a file dialog. If the programmer uses the code primitives "normally" then unmatching files are grayed out. This way you can still see files in the directory in case you want to open a file that has the wrong extension. Usually the application provides a drop down menu where you can select options such as display all files, only matching files, etc. However, the programmer has to implement these features.
One thing that will help you a great deal is to stop looking for OS X to be like Windows. Although there are many elements that are similar there are many more that are not. If you haven't read this yet, you may find it helpful: Switch 101.
