CS6 dreamweaver - adding images causes dreamweaver to hang

We have a cs6 master site licence at our school.
When adding an image or video to a basic html document, via insert/image the application immediately hangs. I have seen similar throughout the forum but nothing for CS6.
This does not happen to all users but about 70%. Any ideas?

Are the images all from the same source?  And can we assume all computers are the same, or very similar specs?  I have seen cases where it happens because of the remote data source where the data is taking awhile to load.  Or it may be possible if the exact same image is being called from a shared data source and all students are accessing it at once it could be causing congestion to access the file.

  • Inserting an image causes Dreamweaver to freeze.

    Hi,
    Spec
    Dreamweaver CS5
    Windows 7 & Server 2008 R2 (mix of machines)
    4GB RAM
    Plenty of disk space
    Followng these steps...
    Open Dreamweaver
    Click Insert
    Click Image
    **FREEZE**
    Dreamweaver locks up and never recovers. Only happens on standard user accouts, admins works fine. Given 'everyone' read/write permission to adobe folder in program files, but no difference. The only work around I can see if to save the page > create a site > the insert the image; this then works.
    After running the microsoft debugger, attached to the dreamweaver process I get this at the point of the crash
    (1044.1328): C++ EH exception - code e06d7363 (first chance)
    A few of these infact and then nothing.
    Anyone got any ideas. Have tried all latest updates, uninstall > clear prefs files > install no difference. Also the Extension manager keeps say it stopped working when launched.... is this related? As I say only on a standard user, admins all fine.
    Thanks for any help on this matter.

    Hi,
    I quote: "Thanks for any help on this matter."
    One of the best solutions in this case in my oppinion is you would get in touch with Adobe Help and Support here: http://www.adobe.com/support/creativesuite/. You could use "Troubleshoot failed installations": http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/828/cpsid_82827.html Recently there is also the possibility to consult via chat.

  • How to make slide images with Dreamweaver CS6?

    How to make slide images with Dreamweaver CS6? Please teach me.

    Hello
    in addition to Jon's hint, I'll send you some links to nice sliders (have fun with the different representations ):
    http://sandbox.scriptiny.com/javascript-slideshow/
    http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/
    http://wowslider.com/best-jquery-slider-crystal-linear-demo.html
    http://www.jcoverflip.com/demo
    http://www.jacksasylum.eu/ContentFlow/
    http://addyosmani.com/blog/jqueryuicoverflow/
    You only need to use the source code to implant these shows there where you want. In my eyes it would be the best that you use first a very new and blank DW file to perform (maybe in LiveView) the one or the other.

  • Adding user comments on images using dreamweaver

    Hi.
    I was wondering is it possible to add a comments section under an image using dreamweaver.
    For example on a website, users can view an uploaded image and make comments underneath it. How do I do this in dreamweaver cs6?
    Thanks

    Hi grampy 84,
    I used the keywords "provide commenting on website" on Google, and found a few links that look to be useful. I do not want to recommend any because I have not tried them myself. However, you could go through what's available and ask the experts here for their opinion.
    Thanks,

  • Dreamweaver adding div height in tooltip?

    I dont normally use dreamweaver, but I must for this project,
    in dreamweaver for some bizarre reason the tooltip says height 50px
    (54px) and has added 4pxs to an image in a div. Anyone know why? It
    aligns in the browsers, IE 6, firefox, but why has dreamweaver
    added these 4 pixels and given it a gap in dreamweaver?
    Picture example:
    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spensley/dreamweaverbug.jpg
    anyone know why and what this is all about?
    The css:
    #logo{
    top: 30px;
    width:126px;
    height: 51px;
    padding:0px;
    float: left;
    html:
    <div id="logo"><a href="index.html"><img
    src="media/images/gtfLogo.jpg" title="GTF logo" alt="GTF logo
    design" longdesc="three circles showing the letters G, T and F in
    orange and green" width="126"
    height="51"/><a/></div>

    Oops - sorry - missed the CSS.
    You have a munged <a> tag -
    orange and green" width="126" height="51"/><a/></
    should be -
    orange and green" width="126" height="51"/></a></
    Does that solve the problem?

  • Background image in Dreamweaver CS3

    When I set my background image in Dreamweaver it shows on the "Design", although when previewed on a browser it does not show. I've checked the directory and it seems fine. What is causing this?

    Modify-->Page Properties, Im using css but not for the page background. I tried previewing the page locally and I have tried it on the server. The entire site root folder was uploaded which has the background.

  • File Causing Dreamweaver Crash

    I have a file that is causing Dreamweaver CS3 Windows to
    crash when in design view. I've tried it on a friend's machine
    (also has CS3), and same result. File works fine on the web, and I
    can edit it in code view with no problem. I am assuming something
    is the CSS code isn't right, but I can't imagine what would cause
    Dreamweaver to blow up. It should be noted that if I remove all but
    TWO of the items contained within <div
    class="auction"></div>, that fixes it. But if I add
    another <div>, boom! I can't figure it out and it's making me
    nuts. Here is the style sheet:
    body, ul, li, a, img, h1 {
    margin: 0;

    does anyone know how to add text to an image in dreamweaver cs3? someone help me im stuck

    Hello,
    pardon, your question is still formulated in too general manner, for me at least, because there are several possibilities for these things. Please take a look on Nancy O.'s templates and tutorials, for example here:
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/CSS-Semi-liq-photo-sheet.shtml
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/Dark-Grid-II.shtml
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/CSS-Clickable-Table-Cells.shtml and not to forget:

  • Update images in dreamweaver preview

    hey guys just a quick ponder, in dreamweaver when i change an image it doesnt update in the preview pannel, even after refreshing. just wondering if there is a setting i am missing or if this is just an annoying feature.

    In CS6 on Win, images update for me.  Are you certain you're editing the same image file?
    Right click on image > Update from Original, or Reset Size, or Reset Size to Original.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer ImageLinkTarget Problem

    I'm using the Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer component to make
    a quick Flash slideshow.
    I've set the ImageLinkTarget parameter to "_blank". However,
    in the slideshow, mouse rollovers show
    a hand cursor, but clicking opens the larger image in the
    same browser window. Everything I have read says that
    this setting should cause the link to open in a new window or
    tab.
    I have posted the code. If anyone has ever experienced this,
    please let me know how to fix/work around it.
    Thank you.

    I'm just a user, like you. And I'd rather you not send things
    directly to
    me unless I request you to do this. If you have a problem
    that cannot be
    solved here, then your next option would be to contact Adobe
    Tech Support
    directly. I'm not very familiar with the Flash side of DW, so
    I cannot be
    of much help in this regard.

  • How do I embed a Dreamweaver interactive image with rollover hotspots into a Wordpress post?

    Hey guys,
    I've made an image in dreamweaver will roll-over hotspots very much like this one: http://hypebeast.com/2014/6/essentials-kent-kilroe
    I'd now like to embed it into a post on my website in Wordpress.
    My website is not hosted locally on my computer, so I would somehow need to paste the code of the image into the HTML section of a new post on Wordpress, whilst uploading the photos to my hosting website and changing the img src links that are in the code to the new ones from my hosting.
    I did all of this and it still didn't work. Could any of you tell me where I am going wrong. The code is below if that helps at all:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

    I don't think WordPress allows that kind of code in posts.  If you try to add all that, WP will likely filter it out.  My advice is to find a WP plugin that supports tooltips on image maps.

    Have you looked at your page with images disabled?
    I urge you to re-think this approach to web design because images of text are not indexed by search engines, screen readers or translators.  Given the demographic group your site is targeting, you really need to ensure maximum web accessibility for all users.
    Navigation, headings and descriptions all need to be in real text -- not images of text.
    Ken is right.  Absolute positioning is pure poison for such a simple layout.  My advice is to start over with one of the pre-built Starter Pages in DW.  Go to File > New > Blank page > HTML.  Select a layout from the 3rd column and hit CREATE button.

  • Adding MP3 in Dreamweaver CS3

    Hi,
    I am new to this forum but I really need some help.
    I am trying to link some mp3s onto my website using Dreamweaver CS3. I have tried two options:
    Using a Flash button
    For example: <a href="../music/track.mp3">Services</a>
    Both instances do play the mp3 but they both open in a new window. They both open Windows Media Player.
    Is there anyway I can press the play button without opening a new windows? I just want to be able to stop, play, pause, etc. just from that button.
    Didn't consider embedding the files because I'll have a number of them a page.
    Any help?

    Thanks a million.

    Get Wimpy MP3 Player.  A single, Flash based, streaming media player can handle all your audio files from a playlist. Easy to set-up, dirt simple to add or remove media files later.
