CS6 Encore requiring a second encode of H264 BluRay from media encoder

Have noticed that when I encode an H264 file in Blu-Ray for encore, that when I try to build the DVD I get a message that the file is not proessed.  If I go back to media encoder and reprocess the existing H264 file, Encore will then accept it.  I think this is a bug, but in bug report, no option for Media Encoder.  this has happened on 4 seperate occassions since I downloaded th latest Adobe CS6 updates.
Anyone have any ideas?
thx...Jim Watt

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply.  the file i'm atrtempting to use in Encore is an .mp4v file from media encoder, which is, I think the same file type i've used successfully in the past.  When I re-encode the file has the same extension, but it will work.  I perceive this is a new issue with the latest update of CS6.  I've not encountered this issue before the update.
Thx...jw

  • Encore insists on transcoding a transcoded video file from media encoder

I've authored a bunch of Blu Ray and SD DVD's in Encore and once in awhile as in right now Encore insists on trnascoding a Blu Ray file that i already transcoded for Encore in Media Encoder on my MacPro which is running CC 7.1.  Anyone have any ideas how to solve this little, but frustrating time consuming issue?

It seems reasonable since Encore is supposedly not affected by CC updates since Adobe considers DVD's dead technology, though I really would like to meet the misguided soul who sold that, concept, that the only program affected would be media encoder.
That's why I thought I could encode on my cs6 MacPro running Snow Leopard and the encode on mt laptop running cc7.1.  I did a test on my Snow leopard CS6 system in Encore and it worked just like it is supposed to, so that's where I'll do my DVD/BluRay work .
Though this concept of the cloud and fast updates seems like a great idea, I think what is happening is that those of us "in the trenches" making our living using these programs are now the beta testers for the programs that should have been beta tested before reaching the market.  In Adobe's rush to release they're skipping beta testing.  We're it!
Red frames in Premier Pro;  direct to Speedgrade crashing; external monitor in Speedgrade not functional on release....just to name a couple I've encountered.  Adobe techs are not the problem it's Adobe management rush to market culture which is causing the problems.
I really appreciate and admire the Adobe tech staff who are trying to make this work under unconscionable pressure and unreasonable demands by their misguided management team.
    Sorry for the rant.

  • Why cant I encode a .mov using Adobe Media Encoder CC to .mp4 or .ogv to use in Edge?

Why cant I encode a .mov using Adobe Media Encoder CC to .mp4 or .ogv to use in Edge?

Yeah, mp4 in HTML5 browsers is h.264 encoded - h.264 is a subset of MPEG-4 standard. More info here:
H.264/MPEG-4 AVC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For ease of use in AME, if you look at the right side of the UI in the presets, the Web Video > YouTube presets are the ones that will encode to h.264 with the mp4 extension.

  • How to output from media encoder to camcorder via firewire?

I am using CS5.5 media encoder to output edited hi def footage from premiere as DV widescreen to sony FX 1 camcorder via firewire.
How do I route the output from media encoder to the firewire output?
This is the same camera I use for acqusition & import into premiere via firewire.
Media Encoder appears to be encoding the footage properly.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You don't--or can't, rather. You'd need to use Premiere Pro for this. Check this help page for details: Exporting to videotape

    Nonsense.
Apple Compressor has been doing wmf exports for a decade. I have the Quicktime export components from Telestream and they appear as presets in Compressor. They should be available in Media Encoder or they should be importable. Adove apparently refuses to see them. Still trying to figure that out.

  • Cannot encode for Blu-ray PP/Media Encoder CS6

This problem seems to stretch across several products, but since the key issue seems to be round encoding I am posting here.  I have searched under various headings in several forums but cannot see an answer.
I recently upgraded to CS6.  I am fairly sure that I was able to do all these things in the previous version.  This is the rough sequence of events.
1  25 minute film sitting in PP CS6 waiting to burn to DVD and Blu-ray.
2  Used dynamic link from PP to Encore and burnt a DVD with no problems.
3  Tried the same project with Blu-ray - failure at the very end of the process.  Cannot now remember the message, but some type of missing file on export.
4  Tried export from PP to ME - error messages at very end of processsaid unkown error.  The hard disc folder in question has been used umpteen times for the same purpose and has 150GB free.
5  Created a separate mp4 file for each sequence.  Imported as asset into Encore.  Would not burn Blu-ray.  Similar error message to above.
6  Used Encore to create disc image from files in point 5.
7  Used another program (Cyberlink Blu-ray disc suite) to burn Blu-ray form disc image - worked first time.
8  Tried again by splitting the main sequence into 3 parts.  Parts 1 and 2 encoded successfully, part 3 did not.
9  Split part 3 into 2 (so now 4 parts) and parts 3 and 4 encoded successfully.
10 Imported all 4 parts into Encore and tried burning BD.  Got Blu-ray error at end of process.
11  Created image from the 4 parts and Cyberlink successfully created BD on same disc.
12  Tried one more time joining together all the 4 sequences that encoded successfully individually - unkown file error again.  Is there some limit that says you cannot encode a BR file over 15 minutes?
Now you could say, why not just continue with the very convoluted workflow that I now have.  Two reasons: I am pretty annoyed that I have paid a large sum for an Adobe suite that is not really a suite (so many interfaces do not work); secondly, it is extremely difficult to break the film into sections and have a smooth connection between them.  Where two sequences join it is impossible to include a transition.  The suggestions on Adobe site when I searched for one of the error messages were less than helpful.  Since this file takes 2 hours to encode I am now getting into days of wasted time.  I cannot understand why it worked first time in DVD and never in Blu-ray.
    Stuart
    Additional note - probably solved
I may have solved the problem.
I found that one of the sequences consistently failed to encode.  I tried to render this in PP and continued to get the same error message: 'unkown error'.  I narrowed down the render to the red lined sections and found that three clips had used RGB colour corrector.  When I removed RGB colour corrector the clips rendered and I was able to encode with AME.  I still have no idea why a standard effect caused this and why it rendered correctly as a DVD.
I don't yet know if the full length film will render - that's the next test.

No one ever responded unfortunately and I never figured out a work around.
In Media Encoder CC there is a system preset for DNxHD MXF which I've used
to yield Avid files. The weird thing is that the CC version does the exact
same thing as the CS6 if you choose quicktime, DNxHD codec, and try to
change the codec settings. None of the settings update. If you find out
anything more about this I'd appreciate getting an update. Thanks!

  • 30 Second Audio Render problem in Adobe Media Encoder?

I've been trying a few things out to fix this, but no luck.
Ok, so I export videos with a audio spectrums where audio would be necessary. Now I want to do this all in After Effects without editing the Audio in in Premiere Pro. After Effects does not render in H.264. So I send it Adobe Media Encoder. When I export to AME, the first 30 seconds is mute, without fail. only on AME though. I can export straight through AE with .mov and it works fine. but I don't like doing that with the large filesize. I also did this with WebM. Audio does not export for 30 seconds on AME.
I like to send everything to AME. So if I have to go to premiere to fix audio I will. so after fixing everything I send it over to AME and let it export. for some reason, it WILL give me audio. Is there something wrong with my settings in AE or AME?
Everything is CC if that helps any

    OK, give this a shot.

  • Set CABAC option exporting mp4 h264 with Adobe Media Encoder cc2014

    hello everyone!
i would like to be sure that i'm setting an mp4 h264 video with the CABAC option.
in the video settings of the Adobe Media Encoder cc2014 i didn't find this option.
i know that i have to put the profile at Main, and i did! somebody can tell me where i can set or verify that CABAC option in On?
    thank you!
    pier

AME only uses the CABAC option for h.264 so there is no setting to set.

  • Problem Encoding WMV to FLV with Media Encoder CS4 (but not with CS3)

    Hello,
I have been attempting to encode some WMV files with Flash Media Encoder CS4 (I have Adobe Creative Suite CS4 installed) but it has failed, generating this error:
    - Source File: C:\Documents and Settings\usf\Desktop\incoming\ch01.wmv
    - Output File: C:\Documents and Settings\usf\Desktop\incoming\ch01_3.flv
    - Preset Used: Custom
    - Video: 624x343, Same as source [fps]
    - Audio: MPEG Layer III (MP3), 128 [kbps], Stereo
    - Bitrate: VBR, 400.00 [kbps]
    - Encoding Time: 00:06:36
    5/28/2010 11:26:16 AM : Encoding Failed
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.
On another computer where Adobe Media Encoder CS3 is installed (with Creative Suite CS3), I experience no such problem.  I do notice that when I add the WMV to Adobe Media Encoder CS3, it opens a window that prompts me to use "ffdshow", which will apparently work if it's configured to decode the file.  I click "OK" and start the queue in the encoder.  A few minutes later I get a successfully encoded FLV file.
I have come to question whether Adobe Media Encoder CS4 should be re-installed, whether the entire Suite should re-installed, or if there is some patch or fix I can install somewhere.  Adobe Media Encoder CS4 is installed on my "production" computer which also has Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3) and Adobe Premiere Elements (7).
    Could use some advice here.
    Glen
P.S.  the files will also not export to FLV using Adobe Premiere or Premiere elements...

Again, the reason we are capturing with Windows Media Encoder is because we tried using Live Flash Encoder to capture directly into flash but our equipment wasn't fast enough and it was dropping frames all over the place.  We also don't have the space to capture into an uncompressed format because we don't have the available storage, and our events can be 8 hours long or more (each video is about 15 minutes, 20 or more videos)
Ive listened to everything in my workflow and it sounds fine until the outputted FLV file from AME.
WME is capturing at the following specs:
160kbps 48KHz Windows Media Audio 9.2 codec (stereo) 1 pass CBR
    1800kbps 1 pass CBR video
    29.97 fps
    640x360 resolution
    buffer size: 5 seconds
    key frame interval: 8 seconds
I have verified this with a codec info utility I ran on the wmv files.
AME is encoding with the following specs:
    FLV Multiplexing
    On2 VP6 codec
    620x360 resolution
    800kbps 2 pass VBR
    100% undershoot at best quality
    160kbps stereo MP3 audio
I verified the above with the same codec info utility (gspot 2.70a) and it is all acurate, it also told me that the audio is at 44.1KHz rather than 48 (there was no place to specify this, is this a limitatino of the VP6 codec?)
Yes, these are our source assets.  They're being captured either through an XL2 via firewire, or from an analog program feed converted to firewire via a Canopus converter box.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of this, or a different encoder (either to capture with rather low cpu resources, or to encode into flash) let me know.  I can provide a sample of the clipping if you need
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • How to create alpha videos now FLV / F4V support dropped from Media encoder

Now that Media encoder has dropped support for FLV / F4V has anyone got any ideas how you would create a video with an alpha channel for use in flash professional. With flash professional only really supporting the H.264 CODEC, I can't see any way possible to use transparent videos now.  I'm currently having to resort to installing an old version of media encoder to get back access to FLV.  Does anyone have any other thoughts on how I could achieve this using the latest software.

    Hi Preran,
Can you clarify why the Alpha channel video option has been removed?
There's all sorts of reasons why people still need FLV, in our case its the video format we use with Aurasma to be able to have animated text on a transparent background in an AR environment....
Why oh why would you just remove the option when h264 clearly doesn't replace all of FLVs features?

  • FLV gone from Media Encoder - which formats work on iOS anymore?

The withdrawal of the FLV format has thoroughly confused me. FLV is the only video format I've ever succesfully worked with in AIR apps on iOS. MP4, MOV etc. - all these formats never played when I tested them on iOS devices. Only FLV. I know that StageVideo gives some more options, but my question is:
With FLV getting phased out, which video format options will work in AIR apps for iOS (without using StageVideo) at this point?

I run CS6 at home, but I talked with one of the IT guys at work and he told me that if you have a CC account, you should still be able to download CS6 versions of Adobe applications. If that is true (and not just a corporate account thing), you could download the CS6 version of Media Encoder and use that if you needed to still be able to create FLV files. But if you wanted to give H.264 another try, there numerous preset encoding options under the H.264 encoding type for Apple devices that you could try as an alternative to FLV. In my experience with videos, you're going to get a better quality video anyway at a smaller file size using H.264.

  • Encoding speed limit in Adobe Media Encoder?

    Dear All,
I experienced a strange (for me) behaviour of AME. I made an encoding test with different coding profiles used the same 1GB big MOV file (from 5D Mark II) on two PC-s, and got a very similar results regarding encoding duration. This is impossible. The difference was only 4-6 secs, see below:
    PC-1:
    -          CPU Q9550 (Quad Core 2.8Ghz),
    -          6GB /1333 RAM,
    -          Vista 64Bit,
    -          GT9600TOP,
    -          latest update of Media Encoder.
    -          Encoding Time: 16:40
    PC-2:
    -          CPU I7 - 920,
    -          6GB /1600C8 RAM,
    -          Vista 64Bit,
    -          GT9600TOP,
    -          latest update of Media Encoder.
          -          Encoding Time: 16:40
The source file was opened directly from AME. Both of them used only 25-35% of CPU. I enclosed two screenshots about it. Any idea? I repeated these tests with DVD and Windows Media 9 profiles, and got similar results.
ps. I have read problems regarding Canon 5DMII videos with PR4. I did not experience any problems expect the preview speed. With I7, it is almost acceptable, but non of slower (tested Q9550, E6400) CPUs gave acceptable playing quality.

    - with HDV to DVD, I can reach 100% CPU, but becuse os resizing the frames. If you convert it to Widows Media, or MPEG2-BlueRay, it will not use 100% CPU.
    - I have 3 Disks:
a., Vista and programs, SATA2 750GB Samsung with two partitions, second one is for the final DVD / BL folders.
    b., "Sources", 1TB SATA2 Samsung 32MB Cache
    c. "Projects" and transcoded files, SATA2 750GB Samsung.
If you check the screenshot I sent first, you can see that there was no bi traffic on the disks.

  • Problem with plugins not rendering from Media Encoder CC 2014

Hi, I am exporting a video made in AE CC 2014 with several plugins, into Media Encoder CC 2014. When I try to render the video in Media Encorder at H.264, at 720PX in an MP4. The video renders but does not show any of the plugins that I had used. Any advice?

The timewarp effect (enabled using console veiw in PPRO CC) does nothing to footage when rendered through Media encoder...
It does however render when not sending it to the queue, and rendering straight from PPRO.

    Fair enough,
Just hoping to raise attention of this...as I believe this should be a normal supported feature of PP as it once was back in CS3 days.....
Normal frame blending interpolation doesn't really cut it, and round tripping to AE is overkill for something already built into PPro....
But at least it's in there in some form

  • Exporting video from media encoder. Half of the video export other half goes blank/black

Hi! I'm in need of help I've been trying to export this video to media encoder for about 20days now. I'm working with premiere pro cs5.5 and after effects cs5.5-
Dynamic link, I've updated the two and everything, every time I try to export my video half willl export and I believe after effects crashes and thats when the other
half of the video goes blank/black, this happens everytime, it's very frustrating and I don't know what is causing this. it actually just started.
it also does this on cs5 as well.
    I am working on windows 7 HPE-510y Hewlett-Packard computer
    14gb of ram

Have you checked the output in AME? I always check that before I hit go to make sure that I haven't fouled something up and that the in and out points are what I want. I spot check all along the timeline.
I'm thinking that you have some parts of the Premiere Pro project that are shots or sequences that have been "Replaced with After Effects Composotion." If this is the case, does the blackness happen in one of these shots? If it does I'd suggest trying to render that shot in AE and replace it in the PPro Timeline. If After Effects is really crashing you'll be able to find out why.
A little more detail about your project would also help.
