Cs6 histogram why always set to colors?

Hi
about cs6 , why the histogram is always set to colors??
i mean is a bug like cs5
it should be set by default to rgb
every photo i load it's always set to colors
and i guess there is not option to save and have rgb by default
thanks
cheers

Slowly I'm beginning to get the impression that "bug" is the word for "user error" or "user inexperience" in your language.
You're looking at colors in the histogram because that's what you have chosen in the dropdown:
Here's what you see if you set the Channel dropdown to Colors:
and here's what you see when you set it to Luminosity:
As you can see, there are other choices, such as RGB and individual channel, six selections in all.
Next time you feel like crying wolf—or bug—reach for the Help files in Photoshop instead.  You might also want to buy a good book to learn Photoshop, mantralight.  I'd recommend "Photoshop Clasroom in a Book".

  • InDesign CS6: How do I set Character Color to Unspecified/Undefined in the Paragraph Style Options?

    Is there a way to create a Paragraph Style that leaves the Character Color unspecified?  I have a bunch of existing text frames containing characters of various colors. When I apply the Paragraph Style, the text is changed to black. I want the text color to remain unchanged; that is, I want the Paragraph Style's Character Color attribute undefined.  How do I do this?
    All of the text frames in this case have their Character Style set to [None]. The text colors were applied individually, not via the use of Character Styles.

    If you apply the color to the characters via Character styles then the colors will be unchanged when the Paragraph style is applied. Like this:

  • Setting the color of 3D EM Structures

    i have no issues setting the color i like for the 2D layer drawings.
    and they are also correct on the 3D of the schematic layout
    however my problem is in setting the color in 3D layer for EM structures. They seem to be different.
    I tried setting the color of my material definitions (topmetal) under the material definitions tab of the STACKUP.
    but the color does not correctly translate in the 3D EM structure.
    please advise.

    i got it correctly setting the color of the 2D and 3D for EM structures by following your suggestion in setting the COLOR KEY. that's new to me. thanks
    but my major problem is still unsolved where the color settings of my 2D/3D schematic layouts is different from 2D/3D EM structure layout. I always set the color in the LPF file. for my case for example, my topmetal is defined in lpf as RED. but then when i draw shapes in 2D EM structure, the color for this topmetal layer becomes BLUE...quite lost on this because there's only 1 way to set the color in LPF under "General, Drawing layer 2d"...

  • Why can't I set label color? I have write permission.

    I can't set label color on a particular file, or rename the file, or duplicate the file.
    Why not?
    I'm in an Admin account.
    Get File Info shows that the file is not locked.
    Get File Info shows that the file is readable and writeable by my account, by staff, and by everyone.
    In Terminal, "ls -l" agrees, showing that the file is readable and writable by user, group, and other.
    I have write permission to the containing folder.
    Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions didn't change the permissions.
    What else can I try?

    Might try BatchMod, it's much better/easier than the Finder for recursive Permission changes, but careful, it's powerful...

    Once open, drop that folder on it's icon, change rights, Apply to all within.

  • Can I set histogram to always display in luminosity?

    I am using PSE 8 for Mac.  I am teaching beginners.  I would like the histogram to always display in luminosity mode as default.
    Is this possible?
    Mary Lou

    I would encourage Adobe to consider making this something which can be done in Preferences.  Since Elements is often used by beginners to digital photography, it would be helpful to limit the histogram to luminosity.

    Any easy fix or will periwinkle blue always look muddy, tending to magenta?

  • Report Generation broken after deployment - Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi

    Upon deployment, the Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi became broken.  After installing LV2010 SP1 to view the VIs in the deployment, I noticed that in the second case structure where the code draws the border using the BorderAround invoke node, there is an extra variant input parameter named 'Parameters'.  Upon right-clicking, an option to 'Relink Invoke Node' appeared and after selecting this, the extra input disappeared and the VI was no longer broken.
    Why does "Relink Invoke Node" appear?  How do I create a deployment with this issue?  Has anybody else experienced this?  Why is the TestStand deployment so buggy?

    Hi Ching-Hwa,
    I have set up a test deployment here where I am deploying a workspace that contains a sequence file.  This sequence file has a LabVIEW Action Step calling a VI that opens a new Excel file and simply calls the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI.  After deploying this, both the VI and my test sequence ran on the deployment machine without error.  Therefore, I do have some more questions to more accurately reproduce what you are seeing.
    First, what operating systems are you developing on and deploying to?  Also, what license do you have for TestStand on the machine you are deploying to?  If you have a development version, can you manually take the sequence file and VI to this machine and run it?  I know you now have LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on your development machine, but if you have the development version of TestStand as well, it would be interesting to see if you copy the files over if you still see this behavior.  Are you including the TestStand Engine in the deployment?
    Can you open a blank VI on the deployment machine and add the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI?  It would also be interesting to see if this is not a product of the deployment, but rather an issue with something on the deployment machine itself.  What version of the Report Generation Toolkit do you have on each machine?  Also, what versions of Excel are you using on the development and deployment machine?  Again, it would be helpful for me to know exactly what versions you have installed on both the development and deployment machines so that I can reproduce this as accurately as possible.
    One last thing to try, too, would be to try deploying the VI by itself just to see if it also has the same behavior.  Do you have the Application Builder in LabVIEW?  If so, could you also try building an executable from the VI, create an installer, and deploy this to the deployment machine?
    In regards to the "freezing" of code by removing the block diagrams, I do not believe this will be a proper work around in this case.  While this removes the block diagram from actually being deployed along with the VI and restricts users from editing the code on the deployment machine, if something is getting changed in the compiled code upon deployment, this will not stop this from happening.  This option is available more as a memory option to lower the size of the deployment as well as prohibit any users on the development machine from editing the block diagram themselves.
    Thanks, Ching-Hwa!  I look forward to your response so that I can continue trying to reproduce this issue.  Have a great day!

    Hi 0rc,
    Welcome to the HP Consumer Printer Forums!
    I would like to help you, but have a few questions:
    1. Are you using a PC or a Mac?

  • Setting row color in REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY_LVC

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if this function perhaps is not released or has bugs?  I didn't see any OSS notes.  I've read several sources on how to set the color for a given line and I'm not sure why I don't see it.  I see the values in my internal table in the ROWCOLOR column.
    We are on 4.6C and I wanted to use the LVC function to move toward the ECC versions of the structures ( LVCS_LAYO instead of SLIS_S_LAYOUT).  Perhaps this function module is not really supported???
    Could the ZEBRA parameter throw it off?
    Could it be a buffer issue?  I've tried it alternate ways and don't see a difference.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Ray
    Here is the code I'm using to set the layout and define the table.:
    gs_alv-callback_pf_status    = 'PF_STATUS_SET'.
      gs_alv-callback_user_command = 'USER_COMMAND'.
      gs_alv-callback_program      = sy-repid.

    I set the color in my list table:
    ls_data-rowcolor = 'C600'.

    This is how I call the grid:

  • How to set Interior color of annotation ?

    Hi,
    I am using following code to set interior color of annotation(square/circle). But it is not working. Could you please figure out the issue or let me know how to set interior color?
    CosObj cosAnnot = PDAnnotGetCosObj (annot);
    CosDoc cosDoc = CosObjGetDoc(cosAnnot);
    CosObj cColorObj = CosNewArray(cosDoc,
    false  , 3);CosArrayPut(cColorObj, 0, CosNewFixed(cosDoc,
    false, interiorColor[0]));CosArrayPut(cColorObj, 1, CosNewFixed(cosDoc,
    false , interiorColor[1]));CosArrayPut(cColorObj, 2, CosNewFixed(cosDoc,
    false, interiorColor[2]));CosDictPutKeyString(cosAnnot,
    "IC", cColorObj);PDAnnotNotifyDidChange(annot, ASAtomFromString(
    "IC"), 0);
    I am calling above code in the notification of PDPageDidAddAnnot.
    Regards,
    Arvind

    Did you check that your object was correctly modified?  Looks good here, but that's an important check.
    Second, calling a notification from a notification is never a great idea - always prone to issues.  Try postponing the change till the next Idle, for example.

  • Setting background color in a Box

    Below is the code for a simple dialog displayed from an applet. The dialog contains a text area and a button inside a box. I would like for these 3 items to have the same color. However I'm not able to set the color of the box. I hope you can suggest a solution.
    Thanks for your help.
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class ComboBoxApplet extends JApplet {
      public void init() {
        new MessageDialog("Hello there....");
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class MessageDialog extends JDialog {
      JButton okButton = new JButton("OK");
      public MessageDialog(final String text) {
        JTextArea label = new JTextArea(text);
        label.setEditable(false);
        label.setForeground(Color.black);
        label.setBackground(SystemColor.control);          // successful
        Container pane = getContentPane();
        pane.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
        pane.add(label,BorderLayout.CENTER);
        setSize(150,120);
        Box okBox = Box.createHorizontalBox();
        okBox.setJForeground(SystemColor.control);            // unsuccessful attempt
        okBox.setBackground(SystemColor.control);            // unsuccessful attempt
       okBox.add(Box.createGlue());
        okBox.add(okButton);
        okBox.add(Box.createGlue());
        pane.add(okBox,BorderLayout.SOUTH);
        okButton.setBackground(SystemColor.control);            // successful
        okButton.addActionListener(
          new ActionListener() {
            public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event) {
              setVisible(false);
        getRootPane().setDefaultButton(okButton);
        setVisible(true);
    <HTML>
    <TITLE>ComboBox Applet Test</TITLE>
    <BODY>
    <APPLET CODE=ComboBoxApplet.class WIDTH=400 HEIGHT=200>
    </APPLET>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    I have a really easy solution to this, I just tried it out and it worked perfectly. You cannot set the background to the box, but you can set it to the frame(this), and panels. so why dont you do the following:
    1)just create a panel
    2)add the "Box" that you have to the panel
    3) set the background of the panel
    it works good for me

  • CSS - Setting the color attribute of the commandMenuItem

    Hello
    Under the menuBar in Jdeveloper resides an item called commandMenuItem. The
    color of this item always defaults to a Golden Brown Color. I can change the color
    attribute under the properties navigator and it takes the new color. However I'd like to have an item in the CSS to define the color of all the commandMenuItems.
    Is there a way of doing this.
    Any Help will be appreciated
    Regards
    Kes Moodley

    Hi,
    I am specifically interested in setting the text color of the .AFMenuBarItem. I have tried setting this color attribute in the CSS and it does not seem to take.
    The reference you pointed me to refers to the background and foreground color of the menu Bar. This is different to the text color on the menu Bar.
    Thanks,
    Kes

  • Fireworks CS4 to CS6 - is there a setting that needs to be adjusted so that web pages look right in

    Fireworks CS4 to CS6 - is there a setting that needs to be adjusted so that web pages look right in Internet Explorer?  I was in the middle of creating pages with Fireworks CS4 and exporting them to Dreamweaver CS4 and publishing them to the website. Those pages looked fine. Then I upgraded to CS6 and the pages  look fine in  Fireworks, Dreamweaver and when I preview them "live" in Chrome but not Internet Explorer. Anyone know why?  Also, with upgrading the software I upgraded to a new computer.  Any and all suggestions are welcomed.  Thanks!

    Most likely caused by a missing document type declaration (DTD).  Truth is, the HTML code generated by graphics apps is not web worthy.  It's really only intended for quick mock-ups to show a client before you rebuild everything with CSS & HTML code in Dreamweaver.
    This 3-part tutorial describes how to take your Design from Fireworks or Photoshop to a CSS Layout in Dreamweaver.

  • When I open Adobe Acrobat, the menu onthe left is always set to 'Layers'.  I have tried to change it to 'Pages' without any luck.  Can anyone suggest a fix?

    When I open Adobe Acrobat X, the menu on the left is always set to 'Layers'.  How can I change it to always be set to 'Pages'?

    Most of the time you see something like that. The image in question has a color profile other then sRGB. Some image viewers/displayers are color managed and others are not.  So the image do not look the same in all of the applications you use. So colors seem to change.
    Try converting it to sRGB color and see if then looks the same all around. Also I think PC and Mac displays are set to different gamma something like 1.8 and 2.2
    Though I'm colorblind I even see color variations.
