CS6 Image Processor won't run

My company just updated our systems to CS6. I use the batch processing of the Image Processor a LOT, day to day.
Everytime I try to run it now, I get "There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop".
The folder is full of jpgs....which open just fine in photoshop if I open them manually.
I've reset the settings file, rebooted my machine, still won't run.
Can anyone offer any help? Photoshop seems to be working fine on it's own, I'm only having trouble with the Image Processor :\

  • Bridge to Photoshop Image Processor won't run

    I'm using Photoshop CS3 Extended - V 10.0.1 and Bridge V 2.1.1.9
I'm trying to run some photos through Image Processor via Bridge. After selecting all of the photos, selecting Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor, Photoshop opens, but the Image Processor doesn't run.
I've tried processing other photos in other folders and it works fine. Then I tried processing the problematic folder on a different computer with no luck. There just seems to be an issue with this group of photos.
I check the information on the photos and they're not locked or anything. I'm not sure what else to do. Any ideas?

Try run the Image Processor directly from Photoshop menu File->Scripting. See if you can select the folder and run the processing.
What is the special with that folder? such as size, permission, special name or special file?

  • Image Processor won't run action correctly

I have CS6 (CC) on a Mac (2013).  I wrote an action for saving my work.  In my normal .psd file, I use multiple layers for editing, etc.  I also use a group folder for my B&W conversion.  I made an action to utilize the saved .psd file to save both the color and the B&W versions.  The B&W action works completely fine.  However, the Image Processor will not properly run the color action.  It tells me that "The object “layer “B&W”” is not currently available."  If I open a .psd file and run it manually, there are no issues.
What am I doing wrong or what do I need to change to have the IP correctly run the action?
    Thank you!

    Oops...sorry...I guess that would help.

  • Unable to get Image Processor Pro to run on Laptop. Creative CC suite.

    Hi, All,
now i been using the excellent plugin from Russel Brown on my work PC for as long as i can remember. I had to do some work from home on Windows 8.1 Laptop 64Bit.
However this strange issue as show as image below just unable to get past this point. Seems like something is stuck.  I can close it only. left it for ages. I even tried to trace the system with Microsoft Systemmonitor with no luck.
I have re-installed the creative cc bridge now three times along with photoshop, cleaning out every reference to data settings etc..Still with same results.
Even from outside bridge just trying to run the script from Photoshop directly gives the same result.
Anything have any great suggestion what possibly could be reason. I got a ton of batch conversions i need to save PNGs otherwise i would just just the normal image process.
    Thanks in advance.

Its Not Adobe Code and its not shipped with Photoshop.  Photoshop versions also has bugs in ScriptUI which is used by scripts with a dialog.  Image Processor Pro 2.3.1 has some bugs. Some files formats its saves may have problems.
Russell Brown works for Adobe but he has been pulled away from Photoshop.  Xbytor is the programmer that wrote Image Processor Pro he does not work for Adobe and he is feed up with Adobe for not fixing bugs in Photoshop scripting.  He stated he will support Image Processor Pro for some time.
Russell web site has this. The Open Source code is now available for many of my script and panels
Because of new projects and a changing demand for my time, it will be necessary for me to move on to new projects at Adobe. For this reason I will no longer be able to support, or update many of my scripts and panels. Never fear! – I am releasing the source code for many of my programs and if you are a programmer then you can use this code to modify and change my scripts to meet your needs. If you are not a programmer then I recommend working with anyone on the list of programmers that I have supplied below. However! Let me make it clear that his code is not to be sold. This is an open and free source to be used for the good of humankind and Adobe Photoshop users around the world

  • How do I start the script for Photoshop CS6 in Bridge CS6 image processor ?

I am new to Bridge and I am lookiing for a way to batch process images. I opened 'preferences' and did not find Photoshop CS6 under the script list. How do I open and run the image processor? Thanks for any help!!

I have clicked on 'tools' within Bridge but there is no 'Photoshop' in the drop-down menu.
Misread your post a bit and see you want the image processor, however, this should be in the same location as the Batch option. If you don't have Photoshop in that list it means the start up script is not active or not installed properly.
First check Bridge preferences / Start up scripts and see if Photoshop is listed inhere and has a checkmark in front. If no checkmark then set it to on, restart Bridge and try again. If no Start upScript at all first try restart Bridge holding down option key (Mac) or ctrl (Win) and choose reset preferences.
If still no luck try a reinstall of PSCS6 to also reinstall Bridge again. (you first have to uninstall PSCS6, be sure to have a back up of custom settings etc).

  • CS6 Image Processor Retains Unwanted Paths

I use the image processor in Bridge to batch convert my finished .PSD images to JPEGs for final distribution. I have been doing this for a long time and it fits my needs and my workflow perfectly. Unfortunately, though, something seems to have changed in CS6. In CS5 this would delete all paths in the file, but it seems in CS6 the paths are still there in the final JPEGs. This is not ideal for a number of reasons (e.g. clients don't need to see that I used a path called "fat guy's belly" during editing...). How can I loose them?

If you did want to use Image Processor / Pro ....
Here is the required script ...
    try{
    activeDocument.pathItems.removeAll();
    }catch(e){};
Save the script as plain text with a .jsx extension into the applications Presets/Scripts folder.
Close and re-start Photoshop so that it picks up the new script.
Then create an action using "Insert Menu Item" (from the action pallete fly out menu) and then File - Scripts - select the script, and stop the recording.
You can now call this action from Image Processor / Pro

  • When in Bridge, my image processor won't work anymore

When I am in Bridge I go to Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor and the dialog box doesn't come up anymore. It does nothing. I use Creative Cloud and all plugins are updated. Help!

I once had functions like Photomerge go kablooey when I uninstalled Photoshop CC (once I was comfortable using Photoshop CC 2014). A complete uninstall and reinstall fixed it.
Do any of the other Photoshop tools function properly?

  • Illustrator CS6 Czech version won't run on English Windows 8.1

PLEASE help, I had to get a different computer and Illustrator won't run on it. It comes up with an error that the language is not supported. Can't do anything about it.
I would download and install an English version if I could but I only have an access to the Czech one as that's what I bought. I spent a lot of money for this and it's not working!

  • Image Processor Pro won't run in PS6 using Window 7 OS.

Trying to run IPP on a Windows 7 OS in PS6.  I select my images in bridge and run the script IPP. Photoshop pops up and a blank white screen appears and nothing else happens.

Scripting was an extra down for PS7 and the first version of Photoshop to have scripting support PS6 has no scripting support.  The Image Processor Pro script uses newer scripting features like Plug-in support that was added in CS3 and I think Image Processor Pro needs newer then that like it may only works with CS5, CS6 and CC. I use it with CS6 and CC... I do not usr the installer I extract the zxp file and install manually. There are a couple of minor issues the X is working on Alpha Channels in PSD files and some TGA and BMP support... Adobe has pull Russell Brown off of Photoshop  and X is feed up with Adobe.. Make sure you have the latest version of the script... I use Windows 7 Pro OS...

  • Why did running image processor in CS6 lose all changes to CR files?

I am a creative cloud subscriber. I made and saved changes to my Camera Raw files in CS6. On running image processor these changes have all been lost.
    Can you help?

    no it opens up fine.
if I open it up in the Windows File Explorer, it opens fine as well, and it says it is a jpg.
In File Explorer it shows that it is a jpg. It also shows the WxH for some jpg's, and not others. The files that PS processor ignores are the same files that windows file explorer does not show the WxH.
In other words, I believe they are jpg files, but maybe not including certain profiles or something. Is there a batch command using bridge or something where I can simply open these files, and then save them as true jpgs?

  • Shortcuts for Batch and Image Processor in Bridge CS6

I use Batch and Image Processor all the time, and I'd like to use a shortcut.
Can you tell me if there is a shortcut or how I can program one?
I set up shortcuts for those two commands in Photoshop, but they don't work in Bridge.
I remember from the time I started with Photoshop and had Deke McClelland's book with his set of shortcuts. There was a shortcut that worked with image processor, but it was just a set you did install and no explanation. When I moved to a different computer and a newer version of Photoshop, these keys got lost.
Is there any way to automate Batch and Image Processor?

There is no way to economically batch process in Bridge without having to go thorough sub-menus.
I'm sorry you can't get it to work, but on my system it works flawless.
Testing a bit more it seems you don't need to use a unique shortcut at all. I also tried to use the shortcut for Batch I created in PS itself to get the Batch window to front for running actions on open files. For me that is [control + Cmd + B] but feel free to find an other one.
When I discovered you don't need the unique shortcut at all I used the same shortcut for Bridge CC. . Also created [Control + Cmd + i] for the Image processor.
    Both started without problems.
To extend I also created both same shortcuts for Bridge CS6. This also was working correctly, off course, having only PS CC open using the shortcut in Bridge CS6 it auto started PS CS6.
So can you specify a bit more about what OS you are using on what computer (I have OSX 10.8.4 on a MacPro 2012)
Some screenshots to show the shortcuts in System prefs and how the show in the Bridge Submenus:

  • Losing raw edits when using image processor CS6.

When I select a CR2 file(s) (that has been edited in ACR 7.1) and attempt to run it through image processor, all of my edits are gone. If I save as a JPEG manually every edit stays. Here is a shot of the files side by side. Left side is manual right side was with image processor.

When i edit my images with Bridge and ACR (AdobeCameraRAW) ... when i finish ... i select all pictures i want ...
So, i select "Tools/Photoshop/Images Processor" i select my options et click "RUN" ... so after process my images ... i check and every picture where a "CROP in ACR" will lose this configuration ...
What JPEG Files ... level 10 no resize and no convert to sRGB profile

  • In Bridge CS6, my "Tools" tab is now missing the Image Processor option.

    Hello!
Two glaring changes were made in my system all by itself.  One is that in Bridge CS6, under the "Tools" tab, the "Image Processor" option is gone.  All that's left is Batch Rename and Cache options.  Does anyone know why this happened or how to restore this.  Also, whenever I double click an image, it now goes directly to Photoshop as opposed to opening in Camera Raw first like it used to.  All and any help is appeciated.  Thank you!!!
    Eric

Curt, thank you for your response.  I did try that.  I unchecked then
reselected all start up options and still nothing.  Any other
    suggestions?

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't run, problem with Application Manager

I've now got three Adobo Photoshop CS products on my MacBook Pro, the latest is CS6 which won't run.
I own Photoshop CS3, I just happen to install the CS5.x suite today, which runs during the trial period (30 day, today is day #1).
I then see that PSCS6 is out so I install that and get an error dialog.
    Adobe Photoshop CS6
Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.
Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.
I go to that URL, run the new application manager and get that same dialog box when I try to run CS6.
When I did the CS6b install it asked for my Adobe ID/password and I entered that and the install completed. So I'm not sure what's going on.

Hi, Using OSX Lion...was getting the same AAM errors.
I hope my "fix" is of help:
During one installation attempt I noticed that it was using an Adobe Application Manager here:
    ~User/Applications/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
It is version 6.0.236.0 and the installer deletes it after the install. The download page only has version 2.
So during my last install attempt, I grabbed a copy of that OOBE directory -- to catch the support files -- before deletion.
Did not work in user Applications folder, but when I copied it in the location of AAM 2, it works.
The full location is as follows (I renamed the original OOBE folder as a back-up):
    HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
Authorization works, and software update seems to...however, uninstall can't use this method.

  • Bridge CS6: How do you write a script to assign a shortcut to "Batch" and "Image Processor"?

Many times a day I need to access "Batch" and "Image Processor" in Bridge.
There is no shortcut, so I have to go the Tools-Photoshop-Batch and Tools-Photoshop-Image Processor menu - the items I need are locked into a second level menu.
    Which is impractical.
I remember, when I started out with Photoshop many years ago, I downloaded "Deke Keyes" from Deke McClelland, which included keystrokes for "Batch" and "Image Processor".
From the Bridge forum I learned that you cannot assign shortcuts in Bridge CS6.
So the general opinon was that a script was used to assign the shortcuts.
Could you please tell me how to do that?
    Thanks!
PS: I tried to assign shortcuts via the Mac OS X Mountain Lion keyboard preferences (applications), but it did not work.

    Hi,
in the exit:Event of the 1st date field add this FormCalc script:
    DateField2 = Num2Date(Date2Num($.formattedValue, "DD.MM.YYYY") + 21, "DD.MM.YYYY")
You may have to change th date pattern  "DD.MM.YYYY" in the way you need it.
