CS6 in Windows 8 won't capture video

Capture in CS6 won’t record VHS after loading Windows 8. Computer used to work, only change was upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8. The anomaly is that using the same settings, the capture works using CS5.5. The capture was a VHS tape through a Canopus converter (ADVC 300). Done many times before, the only change was Windows 8 instead of Windows 7. Weird that it works under same Windows 8 and conditions for CS5.5 but not for CS6. This indicates something different about CS6.
CS6 gives the message that the recorder in CS6 is not capturing any frames.
Anyone having similar problems?

For John's information, I tried a Legacy Driver. Made no difference. When trying to record in CS6, I could see the video, but when trying to record, message received that no frames recorded. Nothing would happen. Left everything the same, same hookup, closed CS6, opened CS5.5 and recording happened. My guess is that Windows 8 may have changed a file in CS6 that prevents recording. I haven't tried recording to tape yet.

  • CS6 for Windows "Problems won

I purchased and have been using CS6 since September and everything was working fine until this week when I tried to launch Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc. and I get the message “The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernal32.dll”. Consequently, the programs won't operate because of this.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS6 and also using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool. I've reinstalled Windows and even replaced my processor thinking that might be the problem but nothing has fixed this. Now I'm getting the message when I try to launch Illustrator that I'm only using a "Trial Version" and I have to sign in. By the way, I also own CS5.5 and everything workd fine. Please help me. I really need to use CS6.

Thanks. I am running Windows XP with Service Pack 3, but it does show me
another possible explanation of why I'm having issues. It's just strange
that this is happening now after using CS6 for eight months on this same
    operating system.

  • InDesign CS6 with Window 8 Won't Launch

Had been working fine, last launch was 3 days ago.  Today tried to open InDesign CS6 (Windows 8.1) and get the following InDesign.exe error box: "CAnot load InDesign.exe because it requires Paragraph Composer. Please install the Paragraph Composer plug-in and restart InDesign."  How do you do this, where do you get?

    Peter thanks for your help.
I set up a new user account and tried, but that didn't work either.
    Do I need to :
    1. uninstall InDesign only with Windows Unintsaller (not the entire suite?)
    2. download InDesign from Adobe's website
    3. put in our serial # and I should be good to go?
Or will I still need to reinstall my plugins through the Adobe manager?
    Thanks
I would certainly try just doing ID first. If that's not successful you can remove the whole suite, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) then reinstall.

  • Windows iTunes won't play video from shared libraries

    Hey guys.
There are 4 computers with itunes in my house. I have a MBP and a Mac Mini with 10.6.4. Also, my brothers have 2 PCs with Windows 7.
I store my media on the Mac, but would like to share it with them thru iTunes on the other PCs. So, we all set up library sharing and updated to iTunes on all machines to 10.0.1.
Problem is: The windows PCs can't play any shared video.
Whether it's from Mac or PC, iTunes on the Windows PCs can't stream any videos from any of the other 3 shared libraries. The Macs do it fine from the other sources, Windows PCs don't.
All that being said, the Windows PCs do play video in their own libraries. Just not Shared ones.
As I said, all 4 PCs have the latest OSs, iTunes and QT. Any ideas?

It has to do with how I was transscoding the videos. Handbrake tags the videos in a way that makes it impossible to play in Windows. Retagging with a program like MetaX will solve the issue.

  • My amazon download of CS6 for windows 7 won't work on new PC with window 8. HELP!!

why wont' CS6 work on new PC with Windows 8?
    my email is [email protected]

Solved my own problem. Sorry for the spam. :-)
Windows does not support multiple gateways. I had foregotten I had a 2nd wireless access point/router plugged into the network (Cisco/Linksys E1000). That router had been working fine in combination with old SpeedStream DSL router from Verizon, but apparently it introduced a second gateway address which was in conflict with GT704WGB.
    Solution:
    1. Unplug Cisco E1000. Reset it to factory settings by pushing red button.
    2. Plug Cisco E1000 back into network.
    3. Use Cisco CD and setup.exe to "install" E1000.
    4. Use Cisco CD and Cisco Connect to reconfigure E1000.
    5. Done.
All devices working with all OS's including Windows 7.

  • Webcam won't capture videos. HELP!

I don't know whats wrong, it was working fine.. and then today it just refuses to cooperate. Everytime I go to record a video it freezes the frame, and then when I click stop the video is blank with a tiny sound clip. Any ideas? I've already tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the software and drivers.. neither of which worked. I'm getting desperate.

To see if there is something deeper see if the video plays in Bridge.

  • I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera.  CS6 c

I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera.  The CS6 capture box keeps putting up a message that capture device is off line.  The Sony DCR-TRV340 camera is not listed in the CS6 Device Type  list in the CS6 DV/HDV device control settings box of Sony cameras.  I've downloaded what I think are the correct drivers for the TRV340, and when I plug the camera into the computer, the computer shows it listed in the devices and printers box, but CS6 will not recognize it.  Do I need to install these drivers into a specific folder in the CS6 program?  If so, where do I find these drivers in the windows 7 professional operating system, and into which CS6 file folder would I copy them to?

Most camera's are not listed in Device controle, set it to Sony and generic. Yours is very old its a Digital 8 camera (I still got a TRV210). Johns second link wont work with your camera.
You do not need to download drivers nor do you need to install anything. Most likely its the Legacy driver.
    Read though this document.

General rule is connect camera to pc wait until windows reconigzes the camera.
    Fire up Premiere and capture.
Never connect the camera to pc when the camera is on.

  • Capturing video via Firewire does not work on CS6

    I recently installed 64 bits Windows 7.
The capture function in Premiere CS6 does not work with my panasonic camcorder NV-GS500
Windows recognizes the camcorder, but I cannot do anything with it in the Capture window.
This not an Premiere-specific problem , because also wit Nero I have the same problem.
I expect that the Windows7 driver for my camera needs to be upodated, but Panasonic cannot help me.
Is there anybody out in the Premiere community who knows a solution?

Windows 7 Changed the standard 1394 driver from XP which allows Win 7 to Throttle bandwidth on Firewire devices. This is why Ann mentioned the legacy driver which is basically the old XP driver. The bandwidth throttling causes allot of issues with certain cameras during the Handshake process which is why you often have deck control but no preview or primary video stream. If you follow the instructions in the link above or the paste below to set the Legacy driver for the 1394 controller , that will often resolve these issues. However some firmware on different manufacturers Firewire controllers include these C-State Bandwidth throttling sets so it still may not work. In that case you want to get a Firewire card with a TI chipset. The firmware on TI chips are clean and dont include the C-State changes.
Solution 6: Use the Legacy FireWire driver (Windows 7 x64)
Click the Windows Start button; type "device manager" into the Search box and select Device Manager
Swivel open the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" item
Right-click on your listed 1394 controller; select "Update Driver Software"
Click the "Browse my computer for driver software" button, followed by the "Let me pick from a list" button
Select the option that has "(Legacy)" at the end of the name; click Next and let Windows install the driver
Make sure you restart the system after you make the change to legacy. Also do not have the Firewire device plugged in when changing the driver to Legacy.
Close out of dialogs and retry capture'

  • I am unable to capture using Matrox MXO2 LE with Preimere Pro CS6 and Windows 8

I have a Matrox MXO2 LE and trying to capture with Preimere Pro CS6.  My OS is Windows 8 and it sees my Matrox Device via my device managers.  No option comes up in CS6 to allow me to actually capture.  I am a new beginner with both Matorx and Preimere so learning on the way.
    Background Information:
I have a Datavideo SE 600 Switcher (SD) and it is connected to the Matrox.  I am trying to capture into Preimere Pro so that we can make DVDs instanly after service, we are a church.  I am able to capture using Adobe Live Media Encoder for Live streaming but not Preimere Pro CS6.

Check with Matrox... ask 2 things
1-do you have a device driver that is "certified" for PProCS6?
2-do you have a device driver that is "certified" for Windows 8?
The only NATIVE support in Premiere (any version) is Firewire

  • Premiere Pro CS6 won't capture HDR-HC3 properly

In HDV capture mode it wants to assign an mp3 extension.
Doesn't capture in native M2t format.
Tried reinstalling. Haven't had this problem with previous versions.
    ver. 6.01

I've used numerous programs over the years so on the off chance I'm mistaken about whether Premiere Pro captures Sony HDV in m2t or mpeg, I'll take your word for it. However, you're not addressing the real problem which is that it won't capture my Sony HDR HC3 video, period, in any format. It wants to create a file with an mp3 extension and won't import the files it captures even if the extension has been changed to m2t, mpg, or mpeg. I may not be sure about the extension previous versions have captured in, but I'm 100% certain that it did capture it.

  • Windows media won't play mp4, audio no video

I upgraded from a desktop to the HP TouchSmart 15 TS Notebook PC so that I would have all the functionality
of a new operating system that would work. Guess I was mistaken?!?!?! I have the same problem I had with my old crappy desk-top, MP4 videos still don't play on Windows 8.1???? I get audio but no video????? just a black screen?????

According to Microsoft support website, Windows Media Player still won't support MP4 files. Though we can make WMP play MP4 video by install some codec, sometime we still encounter can't play MP4 in Windows Media Player issue. MP4 is a container format which may contain multiple video and audio streams. And the video and audio stream can be encoded any of several ways. If the MP4 video or audio codec is not WMP installed codec supported one, Windows Media Player won't play MP4 video of this kind. In order to solve "Windows Media Player won't play MP4 files even when the appropriate codec is installed" and to successfully play any MP4 video in Windows Media Player, we had better convert MP4 to Windows Media Player more supported video format like WMV, AVI. • Why won't iPad video open when emailed to Windows desktop?

Why won't iPad video open when emailed to Windows desktop?

    Hey there Ray_J,
I understand that you want iTunes to be opening every time you connect your phone to your computer. You may wish to adjust this setting in your iTunes preferences to affect this behavior:
Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically
Prevent devices from automatically syncing with this iTunes library when a device is connected. To sync a device, click the Sync button when the device is connected.
iTunes 12 for Mac: iTunes Devices preferences

If this is unchecked, iTunes will open automatically when you connect an iOS device. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

  • IPod Touch won't download videos onto my MacBook with image capture..

My ipod Touch won't download videos I took with the Photo app onto my MacBook.  Is this a memory problem?  The videos play fine on the iPod but I can;t get them off of it.  Thanks.

    - Could it be that the ones that can't be viewed are really too big of a file size and thus can't really be emailed?
    - Is there any pattern to the computer OS and email program your friends are using?

  • Grab won't capture a Safari window

I've just upgraded to Mavericks today. I want to capture a window in Safari, something I've done many times in the past. Each time I go capture > window, I get the message 'This window could not be captured. The contents of this window could not be shared.' I can capture a 'selection' in Safari, and also the entire screen. But not a specific window. It works OK in other browsers and elsewhere on my computer, it's just Safari. I've done a restart a couple of times but still the same problem.
    Any ideas?

I've attached a screenshot (taken using Tuttle's suggestion above!) of the error message I get. As I've said before it is only in Safari and it is only to grab a 'window'. I'm sure it must be an installation fault as no-one else has complained about it. Thank you all for your work-around suggestions.
