CS6: keyboard command for zoom in

In CS4 I used the keyboard command, command+space bar, to zoom in to a area I selected with the marquee tool. I used this all the time. With CS6 the same keyboard command works differently. I don't have the option to select the area I want with the marquee tool. Is there a way to do it in CS6?

Go to the zoom tool, turn off "scrubby zoom".

  • I need to find the keyboard command for "PrintScreen"

I'm using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X Version 10.7.5.
Processor 2.4 GHz intel core 2 Duo.
I'm just looking for the keyboard command for the "PrintScreen" function.
    Any help?

    Thanks, Niel,
The only way that I could print all the columns on the page was to use the printscreen function. Regular printing cut off a crucial portion of the information.
If you know of any way to bring the print screen to full size - mine would only print in a compressed version - I'd love to know that as well.
Your answer, however, was very helpful.

  • System prerences won't save keyboard commands for dashboard or desktop

I clicked the checkboxes to turn on the keyboard commands for Dashboard and Desktop. I used control-up arrow for Dashboard, and control-down arrow for Desktop. When I restart, the commands don't work. I thought maybe I had made System Preferences crash, so I made a point of quitting right after making the change. When I restarted, the commands were disabled again. This has happened several times.
    What gives?

At a guess, I would think this error code has to do with the video artifacts you are experiencing. You might try reseating all the cables to the display. If the position of the screen makes a difference, there may be damage to a cable, particularly where it goes through the hinge.
Apple is the keeper of the error codes. If you have access to an Apple Store, you could probably ask about this.
Don't know about the other intermittent problems. Does an external keyboard work? If so, there's likely a problem with the internal, maybe even again, a cable or connection.
You could also try creating a new use account and see if the keyboard and mouse problems persist. If not, there could be some sort of software corruption in your usual account. Ditto with the freezing.
    Good luck!

  • Change keyboard shortcuts for zoom

    Hi
When looking at the keyboard shortcuts for MAC, the 100% zoom is down as command alt '0', yet it is showing in the dropdown list as 'n'?
Is there a way of changing the shortcuts. Previously the 100% zoom was simply command (apple) '0', which is now fit to page.
Can anyone help with how to change the short cuts please?
    Cheers
    G

    See http://forums.adobe.com/message/4947053?tstart=0
There was a change to a bizarre shortcut of Fn+n for 'View > 100%' (equivalent to the previous 'View > Actual Pixels' which had shortcut Cmd+1) when Retina compatibility was introduced a few months ago.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut for zooming out my parents' computer's desktop

I did not witness what happened, but apparently my brother ctrl+scrolled up(and zoomed all the way in) and my mother has been trying to figure out how to zoom it out. We have a Mighty Mouse, but it can not scroll down for some strange reason(It's broken). We somehow got it to zoom all the way out, but we have no clue how we did it. Is there a quick keyboard shortcut to zoom the screen out all the way in case it happens again(or in case I make some video that requires me to zoom in and focus on XCode and I later want to zoom out, seeing as my mother fixed her preferences to not allow it to zoom in)? If so, what is it? Is there also a keyboard shortcut to zoom in, in case we turn scrolling off altogether?

In the System Preference> Universal Access> panel, you can reverse the
results of an accidental setting found through a random keyboard command.
    • Mac OS X keyboard shortcuts:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1343
Or, just keyboard: *The use of Option-Command-8 is said to Turn On/Off Zoom*.
Using a standard USB mouse, be it an old one-button Apple USB or a newer
two-button PC mouse (no drivers should be needed) you could get past the
immediate issue of the Mighty Mouse's scroll button problem.
The Mighty Mouse probably has dust & debris inside the roller-ball assembly.
There have been some instructions (on how to open/clean & reseal it) online.
If you attempt to do this, be sure you have a working alternative mouse first.
*Cleaning Mighty Mouse* involves some skill, dexterity, tools, glue, tedium & time:

    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • De-activating keyboard command for iTunes

I want to use control-option-space for another program.
Currently it causes iTunes to open. To disable this through the Keyboard Prefs panel I need to know the exact menu item name, but it does not appear in iTunes's menu so I cannot do that.

We're just users here.  Send feedback -- including feature requests -- to Apple via "Aperture→Provide Aperture Feedback".
There is no keyboard command.  Aperture uses the mouse "scroll" command.  You may turn up a utility which allows you to map the mouse commands to keyboard shortcuts.
You might also search the forum for posts on resizing Brushes with the Intuos4 tablet.  There may be a work-around which you can apply to your trackball.

  • Can I create a keyboard command for the Ken Burns effect?

    Friends,
I am creating a short video that consists of about 40 stills and a few video clips.  For each of the stills I want to create a Ken Burns effect.  I know that there is a keyboard command to open the crop tool.  Can I create a keyboard command that opens the Ken Burns editor?  I guess the broader question is whether I can create a macro that combines a keystroke and one or more mouse clicks?
    Thanks!
    Steve

    The Keyboard-shortcuts-editor
    ⌥ - ⌘ - K
doesn't list the 'Ken Burns'-effect as 'shortcutable' …
And I doubt, that even Automator
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2488?viewlocale=en_US
    would createany useful 'shortcuts':
Each picture is different - so, how should a 'standardised' KB work?
What does work indeed , is copy/paste of Attributes:
    create your KB for clip#1
    hit cmd-c
select clip#2 (or many) hit ⇧-⌘-V and select the 'crop' attributes ...

  • Replacing existing file - keyboard command for Replace

In some apps, if you try to save a file to a location where an older version (same name) exists, you are warned and asked if you want to Cancel or Replace. Focus is on the Cancel button, as it should be. Is there a keyboard command to move focus to the Replace button? I've tried various cobinations etc and I'm sure that there is one.
EDIT: A bit of Googling came up with this excellent site
    http://davespicks.com/writing/programming/mackeys.html
    and the answer is Command-r

You can also enable Access for assisitve devices in the universal access pref. pane.
You can then use TAB to move the focus and SPACE to select the button.

  • Is it possible to make a global keyboard command for an Applescript application?

I have created an application with Applescript, and I want to create a global keyboard command that brings up an input dialogue.
If that's not possible, is there a way to make a dialogue appear when the Dock icon is clicked?

The regular keyboard shortcuts work with whatever application is currently active, so that leaves option number 2.  To add a dynamic menuu item to the dock menu, you can add a couple of handlers to the CocoaAppletAppDelegate.scpt, which is located in the bundle contents of the Cocoa-AppleScript applet (created when you use the File > New from Template menu item):
on applicationDockMenu_(sender) -- dynamically add a menu item to the dock tile
set myDockMenu to current application's NSMenu's alloc's initWithTitle_("") -- don't really need a title here
myDockMenu's addItemWithTitle_action_keyEquivalent_("My spiffy new menu item", "menuAction:", "")
        return myDockMenu
      end applicationDockMenu_
on menuAction_(sender) -- do something when the dock menu item is selected
set menuTitle to sender's title() as text
        # do something
tell current application to activate -- make sure dialog is in front
display dialog "The " & quoted form of menuTitle & " menu item was clicked…"
tell application "System Events" to keystroke tab using {command down} -- switch to previous application
      end menuAction_

  • How do I set the keyboard shortcut for zoom tool to be r-clicking the mouse?

I want to have the r-click of my mouse be the zoom tool like in Quark Xpress. Can I make the Z shortcut to choosing the Zoom tool instead a r-click? I know how to get into keyboard shortcuts - just dont know what to type in for the new shortcut to make it a r-click. right now its 2 steps to zoom rather than in quark 1. not that I want to go back. lol.
also, while were talking about migration differences and extra steps, is there a way I can hide guides and set overprint preview in one step? (this is something I do often and was just a simple F7 in quark)
so these are just 2 things that take 2 steps in ID but one in quark. not that I want to go back. lol

OK, I've been doing this since CS2 with no need for a script. To hide guides and show preview...
    1) Go to 'Keyboard Shortcuts'
    2) Go to 'Product Area - Tools'. Yes, you'd think it would be in Views! But the buttons for this is at the bottom of the Tool Bar.
    3) Go to 'Commands: Toggle view setting between default and preview'
    4) Click your cursor inside 'New Shortcut' and hit the key you want or type it in. I choose the unused F2 key
    5) Click the 'Assign' button and you are set. Hit the key to switch back and forth.
As for your mouse Zoom, use Power Zoom as described above or just hold down the Alt/Option button in 'Hand' mode and use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. Not one step but it works!
Now you won't miss Quark at all!

  • What is the keyboard command  for opening the disc drive on a G5

fried old keyboard and am using an older one that doesn't have an "open" button. Thanks in advance

Yes, it’s the same for me. In this case I didn’t know about drutil. I don’t want to take this off-topic, but just a quick question to you, chorleyman: I see you’re using a Firebox. Are you satisfied with it? I believe it’s Core Audio compliant. Back then I had to decide to get the Edirol FA-66 or a Presonus Firebox. I’m absolutely happy with mine, but I’m just curious...

  • What are the keyboard commands for these bodycopy adjustments?

    Hi,
I've been through my CS3 manual (and all over my keyboard) - trying to understand how to add leading to my paragraphs. I've done it before - which is why this is so maddening. Also how do I create a "circle C" off the baseline?
    Thank you in advance.
    hab

A circle C?  First if you don't know what the symbol is you probably shouldn't be using it.  I think you are referring to a Copyright symbol which Wikipedia has a long definition for ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright ).  A Copyright symbol can be inserted using the Insert Toolbar -> Text tab and clicking the Drop-Down arrow at the end which will give you the © or similar HTML code depending on the charset of the page.
The next think you need is the CSS for text-indent.  Adding the text-indent CSS to the class/id of your text will allow you to indent the first line of your paragraph:

  • Keyboard command for scrolling? In Safari it's spacebar (down) or spacebar-shift (up).

Is there a a Firefox equivalent? Hitting the spacebar sends one backwards--to the top of the page.

That should be the same in Firefox: Space to go down one screen and Shift + Space to go up.<br />
Page Up and Page Down should also work if you have those keys.
