CS6 Mixer Brush Dead Spot Near Top Left of Screen

Hey,
I'm just wondering if anyone else has this issue.
The CS6 mixer brush stops painting and turns into a hand icon, with only the index finger out, when I paint near the top left of my screen. It's about 3 inches from the left and 2 inches from the top.
I don't have this problem in CS5.5/CS5.1 or CS5.
Does anyone know what the hand icon with only index finger out is for? It's not the move tool icon.

....I should also add that I'm using Win7 and a Cintiq.
...and I should add that the standard brushes don't have this problem in CS6.

That sounds like what happens if the brush preview window is visible in that area.
(View>Show>Brush Preview)
Are you using one of the bristle brushes with the mixer brush?
Does it make any difference if you use a standard round brush with the mixer brush?
Have you installed all the updates for photoshop cs6?

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

My iPhone 3GS has dead spots on the left side of the screen, does anyone know how this problem has started or how I can fix this?

Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys. Does anybody have any ideas on why this has happened or any ideas that I'll be able to fix this problem?
Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.

Is CS6 Mixer Brush more advanced than CS5 Mixer Brush?

I'm comparing the CS5 & CS6 mixer brush, with moist, light mix, right now...
At first I wondered why the CS6 mixer brush was slower, until I realized that it looks like the actual brush stroke in CS6 is more advanced. The CS6 stroke looks like it's calculating the overlapping brush strokes & it's interaction with the texture more accurately to real life.
I haven't read any articles on improvements to the CS6 mixer brush. Has it actually improved or are my settings just different in CS6 from CS5? I'm just wondering, since I'll probably need to work with "Sample All Layers" unchecked when working with the CS6 mixer brush.

After playing with the mixer brush for a while in cs5 & cs6 I've come to the conclusion that cs6's mixer brush is simply slower than cs5's mixer brush when "Sample All Layers" is checked (there are only two layers in the 3000 x 2000 file). The cs5 & cs6 mixer brush gives pretty close to the same results.

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can clear some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device without using the latest backup.

Having to press top left of screen to get headphones to play in stereo

When I plug in headphones I get music only from left side, but when I press top left of screen I then get stereo. When I release the pressure it goes back to mono.
Anyone know a fix.??
I've checkd the mono switch is off in settings.
ps: the top left side of the screen feels slightly raised.

Take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
There is obviously a hardware issue, likely from the device being dropped.

My mid-2010 27" iMac running Mavericks is fine in safe mode, but with normal boot up the screen goes haywire with some animation emanating from the apple menu area at top left of screen.

From what I'm reading in these forums, this is likely an issue due to some 3rd party software / kernal conflict. I am going to run a diagnostic and perhaps someone here can help me evaluate the results and determine what software must be removed.
It's hard to describe what I'm seeing on screen. I've never seen anything like it. I get a number of lines that begin at the top left of my screen, about at the apple icon, and they spread out in a triangular pattern from left to right, top to bottom across my screen, while the entire screen flickers uncontrollably. I realize that iMacs from this era have screen issues, but since I can boot fine in safe mode, this can't be a hardware issue.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.

4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. 6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Slightly blackened area on top left of screen

On my iMac 21.5 (bought February 2010) I notice that on the top left part of the screen there are a few "slightly darkened areas." I don't remember these being there originally.
Are these backlight-going-dim areas? Have other people seen this sort of thing?
Is this sort of thing covered by my AppleCare?

And I'm sending it off again. The new screen has dead pixels in two places, and I can't stand dead pixels.
It is sooo tiring debating with Apple about dead pixels. I have this argument with them every year or so. I just don't want an iMac with dead pixels. It's too distracting.
They argue they have a defined limit as to how many dead pixels are allowed. And I argue I just don't want dead pixels and I don't recognize their definition of what's bad. And it goes on and on, and they call in a manager and then they finally agree to pick it up and change the screen again. They try to get me to agree to this being "one last screen change" even if there are bad pixels in the new one, I say I can't agree to that, they say we can't pick it up for repair then, I say that sounds like a threat and it goes on and one until they finally agree to exchange it.
I feel sorry for more timid customers who cave in right away.
This is why I am always hesitant before buying an Apple product. There are almost always problems and I almost always have send things back for repairs. Though this is the first time to have problems like this with an iMac. My problems have always been with notebook computers (100% of all notebook computers I have bought from Apple have needed repair multiple times, most from day one.)
Now my iPhone 4 is acting up too. The Home button sometimes acts like I double clicked it (opening the recent apps tray) when I really only single clicked it. It must be a contact gone faulty or something. It's hard to 100% reproduce but it happens dozens of times a day and drives me crazy. It's still under warranty, so I'll have to bring it by a SoftBank shop sometime soon.
I almost wish sometimes that instead of using a Mac I'd just use some cheap Windows 7 machine and then I just wouldn't care so much if something was wrong and I'd just replace the component.

Entourage: new windows pop to top left of screen

Hi there,
I'm having a problem w/my Entourage. I'm not sure if this is a Mac Leopard issue or one directly related to Entourage and I need to contact MS or maybe something totally unrelated but maybe someone here knows and has the answer. I'm brand new to Apple/Mac as of about 2 weeks ago, never had one before.
When I open Entourage it opens in the center of my screen. When I open an email in Entourage or click to compose one, the window I'm going to read or compose in pops up to the very top left of my ~huge~ 24" screen and I have to move it down each and every time in order to read or type in it.
I personally find this to be very annoying and wondering if anyone knows how to make these windows pop up in the center of my screen like when the Entourage program itself opens up?

Did a little searching on Microsoft's Newsgroup sites. One MS employee gave this answer on the very same question.
If you start a new message window, move it to where you want it to be, close it (saving as draft), then quit Entourage. It should force Entourage to remember the window position.
However, this does not work reliably. We have never been able to track down what prevents Entourage from remembering window positions properly (through several versions!)
What I did do just now on my wife's iMac with Entourage 2008 was simply open a new mail window, moved it to the position I wanted and closed it. Since I hadn't typed anything, it closed without asking me to save anything. But now the new mail window always opens right where I had it last! Even after shutting the program down and relaunching. I'll have to try that on the Mac Pro.

Firefox opens in a small window in top left of screen

Whenever I open firefox it opens in the top left portion of the screen with the close minimize and maximize buttons only, the maximize button is shaded the curser is in the waiting form the whole time.

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

Black spot on Top center of screen Lumia 1020

I purchased Lumia 1020 few days back and I found in dark rooms a block spot appear on top center of screen in dark room when glance screen is on. Also I want to knwo is there any update coming in India. I already have win 8.1 in my device.

Hi, vik4290. Glad to see your post here. What exactly happens to your phone prior to this? Is it also visible when the phone is turned off?
Try adjusting the Brightness & the Colour profile by going to Settings > display. You may also check if the phone's system settings are updated: Settings > Applications > store > check for updates.
Let us know how it will go.

'Show' appears near top of help screen

I've inheritied the project for help and am not very proficient with robohelp so please be patient. When help pages appear, there is a link at the top called 'show', which when you click on it, expands and shows Contents, Search etc. Can anyone tell me how to:
a) turn this option on/off
b) Change the word 'Show' to something of my choosing?

a) You can turn this off in the properties of your Single Source Layout. Uncheck "Show Navigation Pane Link in Topic":
b) You can change this by modifying your language file. File > Project Settings > Advance > LNG File. You can also edit robohrre.lng using notepad. You're looking for the element named "Display" in the section WebHelp.
Note: This will disable the link. This will not display the entire skin when loading the help. For that, you need to call the help differently.
