CS6 new file background issue

Hi, i have encountered a stange issue on PS CS6,
when i open a new file with a white background, i see the new file with only part of it with white background and the rest as it is transparent, but once i start to work on the file other parts gets the white background as well,
anyone knows what is causing this and how to sort this?

New install of cs6 32 and 64 bit on a windows 8.1 64 bit pc file association issue

If I have the 32 bit cs6 open, and click on a psd file it auto opens in the 32 bit software which is nice. However if I have no instance of CS6 open and click a psd to open, it will allways open the cs6 64bit software, which is annoying and I would like to pull the 32 bit always.
I also tried to file associate the psd to the 32bit cs6 exe file, but when clicked it still opens the 64 bit cs6....frustrating
any ideal?

I think if you use regedit and search for the key Photoshop.exe that you will find the the default programs for open and edit are set to the 64 bit exe. Try changing them to the 32 bit exe, This is what my Windows 7 registry key look like. You would change both of them to something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\ Photoshop.exe " "%1"
Do you have some third party 32 bit plug-ins installed is that why you want the 32bit version to start

Black window is open in background every time I open a new file

Hi There,
Every time I open a new file in photoshop CS6, it forces another window in the background to open.
Please can you tell me how to disable this, as it is very annoying and I hate working in tabs.
Also, how do I open all new files at 100%?

I do not use a Mac but I do use floating windows on a PC. I also know that there is some way to turn off Photoshop's main windows frame on a Mac. That frame may be what you see as the black window. Try turning off Photoshop's frame.
To have Photoshop Open new and existing documents from Photoshop's are 100% you need to set up a open event and have ir use an Action or Script the will set view actual pixels 100% zoom. Look a menu File>scripts>Script Events Manager.... that is where you enable events and set up their handlers.

Adobe cs6: extracting files, installer detects issues. Using Photoshop, the program crashes quickly.

I'm in the process of downloading Adobe cs6, and when I extract the downloaded files, installer detects a machine restart is pending, but even after restarting the computer, and retrying to extract the files the issue persists. So I tried ignoring the problem, (as that is one of the options) and completing the download, but then when I go ahead and use Photoshop, I only get to use it for less than 20 seconds and the program completely shuts down. I have no clue how to fix this problem.
I've tried unistalling Adobe cs6 and reistalling it multiple times, but no luck.
I've also downloaded the update published by adobe today (11/26/2012) but i still have this problem.
I don't know how to solve this issue, doesn anyone have any suggestions as how to fix it?
i'm using windows 7, and AMD Professional firepro graphics card

Why var file:File = new File(); is not working in Background Worker?

While working on Background Workers for Air for Desktop platform. I am facing a problem.
I want to unzip a file in the background, which contains 14126 files in it because not using the worker is hanging my system.
When I am using "new File()" or "File.desktopDirectory.nativePath;" I am getting following error:
SecurityError: file
at UnzipWorker/onMainToBack()[C:\Users\red5\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\Downloader_air\src\UnzipWorker.as:45]
at flash.system::MessageChannel/internalAddEventListener()
at flash.system::MessageChannel/addEventListener()

I am not sure why I am getting above error.

However, my background thread is still running with its Security.sandboxType set to remote, even though my primordial thread is running with Security.sandboxType set to localTrusted.
Do you know how to resolve this?

When Photoshop CS6 is invoked from PSE 11 Organizer why is a new file created with _edited-1 appende

I just converted a large PSE 10 catalog to work with a downloaded trial version of PSE 11. When I brought up the Organizer and clicked on the Editor button I selected Photoshop CS 6. At that point the Organizer created an image stack with a new file on the top of the stack that had a file name that was the original file name with "_edited-1" appended to the end of it. Is there any way to avoid this? For me it is going to create a tedious step to delete the original file and rename the new file after editing. For probably 98% of my editing I will use only the Adobe Camera Raw editor on my imported raw files (Nikon's .nef). ACR puts the editing data in a sidecar .xmp file so there's no need to protect the original file from be mistakenly replaced by an edited version.

That's not a new behaviour : in old versions choosing the external editor did create a copy in a version set.
I don't have CS6, so I can't be specific, but I wonder why you should open CS6 if most of your images can be edited in ACR. For them, you only need to click 'Done' and that saves the edits in the xmp sidecar file. I guess most of the remaining files could be processed in the PSE11 editor and saved in any image format (jpeg, tiff, psd...). Only a minority would have to be processed in CS6***, and in that case, creating a new copy in a version set seems quite reasonable.
Edit:
*** in CS6 or the full ACR version of CS6. In my case, it's very rare that I need the other tabs in ACR.

10g-cvs update/import new files issue

Hi all,
when I update a folder in jdev 10g, it doesn't open the new checked in files in the environment
in the old 9i I used to click on 'update folder' and the tool prompted me 'open the new files in the active project?'
now if I update a folder, it just update the already opened files,without importing the new ones
any workaround?

Hi,
Due to a customer support request, the behavior of prompting to open newly checked out files in the active project was removed when performing CVS update on a folder. If the project file is version controlled and gets updated at the same time, the changes are very difficult to consolidate. For the best CVS experience, we recommend using projects which scan source paths to determine their contents (see Project Properties / Input Paths), and manually refreshing the navigator when new files may have resulted from an update operation.
This issue is being tracked, and we'll keep it in mind.

Hi, I've been asked to join this discussion. CCleaner is a nice tool, but if you used the Registry Cleaner that came with it, it might have done something to Photoshop's registry entries. There is that danger in using them.
One thing CCleaner does is leave a backup of the registry, or you can use Windows System Restore to go to that point before you ran the Cleaner. Let's go with System Restore. Review the instructions.

Issue opening or creating new files in illustrator CS5 windows 7 64bit, program becomes "Not Responding" when opening a file.
I had recently tried a trial version of FontExplorer Pro X, and this issue has come up after the Uninstallation of that program. Any suggestions?

With new files opening as a layer and not a background I'm not able to create multiple layers and it wont let me convert the layer to the background.
How did this happen. I used PS just yesterday and had no problems. Today my computer did mandatory updates and now this.

Yes. You are using the Ellipse Tool's Pixel option. So it is laying down pixels as it is supposed to do without creating a layer.
Choose the Shape option:
Also Layer menu > New Layer creates layers and the curled paper at the bottom of your Layers palette also creates a New Layer. I hope those work.

Illiustrator CS6 crashes when creating New File

Im using windows 7 x64. And i have installed both Illiustrators x64 and x32. I can open Illiustrator but when i trying to create new file Illiustrator stop working.

Try the steps below to check the issue.
1. Try to reset the preferences
Press Alt-Crtl-Shift on a PC as soon as you click Illustratir icon to reset the preferences to the factory defaults.
2. If that doesnt help try removing all the installed printers from the system one by one & check.
3. Also you can try to put the system in clean boot & check if the AI still crashes if you try to create a file.

On start-up, PS CS6 Ex opens a new file menu automatically without be prompted to do so. Huh?

Whenever PS CS6 Ex is opened, a new file menu automatically opens without be prompted to do so. This happens whether I'm opening any type of file in PS or just opening PS without a file yet. Once PS is open, this does not reoccur when opening more files from then on, just at start-up only. It's not too big of a deal, just kinda weird.
PS just started doing this a short time ago so I'm guessing it's a Preference setting but can't figure which one.

Thanks for trying but this did not help. I assume you meant for me to open PS CS6 / Window / Workspace & select a new workspace such as Photography or 3D, etc. Then re-open PS & change Preferences / General / Reset all warning dialogue. None of that changed anything.
Below is what happens when I open PS 64-bit; the New file dialog opens. This happens when open PS with a pre-selected file or just launching PS. I also have PS CS6 32-bit on my PC & this does NOT occur when it is launched.

New file automatically changes to white background

When I try to create a new file with a transparent background,it changes to white background.
If I hit the color mode drop down, it goes to bitmap and won't allow anything else to be chosen until I close the request and start over.
Preset always goes to clipboard.
And finally, I can't hit ctrl/PrtScn and have the edit/paste button activate anymore. If I had copied and pasted something before, then that photo just pops back up again.
There's other stuff it's doing but maybe if somebody knows something from this much information I might get back on track.
Has something been corrupted?

Actually I have never downloaded any aps or plug-ins. I'm kinda paranoid about the internet and wouldn't even have CS online if it were an option. I hate these glitches.

How to fix gold padlock issue on downloaded new file

I have a script that downloads image file (.jpg) from ftp server to a safteyPic folder (which is inside standard user's picture folder). Script runs as an admin and every time
it runs, downloaded file has gold padlock on it. I tried sharing that folder with everyone and also changed security settings so that everyone has full access. Padlock goes away after I click on "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions
from this object" but it only works for the file inside it, once script runs and it downloads file, all new file has padlock on it.
Is there any way to fix it?

What is the result if we manually download the files from the ftp server, and what is the result if we download files form other places or other folders and paste it to another folder for a test.
I think we should finger out whether this issue is related with the script? the permission of the files in ftp server? or the permission of the safteyPic folder.

Permission issue with new files

I am having a problem uploading files with Dreamweaver.
The strange thing is I am able to upload existing files, even
if they have been modified, but not new files.
for example I created a page

If you go to the page you will find it is blank. That is the
file is there but it is empty.
I get this error message:
An FTP error occurred - cannot put test.html. Access denied.
The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.
Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the
server is properly configured.
The people who I work with who use Contribute also get the
same message and are not able to upload files.
Nothing has changed that I am aware of when this started
happening.
Any ideas what is going on?
