CS6 officially off Vista ?

I used to run CC on vista for more than a year, and now it has stopped running or updating. Like all adobe softwares have stopped overnight.
I've been told by support that CS6 can longer run on Vista. Is there any way CC can still work on Vista ? I wish they would have told us that it would stopped working this week....

Hi John,
All my adobe CS6 softwares have stopped working (Illustrator, photoshop, indesign, etc..). On click to open, they would ask me to update on Adobe Application Manager (AAM). Unfortunately, AAM itself was not working anymore and required...updating ! then the updating for AAM turned unsuccesful, that's when adobe support disclosed to me that CC is probably no longer available on Vista. Of course, we'ra all bound to go to windows 8 eventually, I just thought I had more time. If you still have a solution, you' re very welcome !

  • What happens if you attempt to install CS6 on Windows Vista?

On this page http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2012/03/photoshop-cs6-operating-system-support-and- beyond.html?PID=2159997 it says:
"We will, however, be dropping official support for Windows Vista (Please note: although Windows Vista is not officially supported, we do not restrict users from installing and using Photoshop CS6 on their Vista Systems)"
Could someone please clarify exactly what this means, in practical terms, if I attempt to install CS6 on my mother's computer which is running Vista?  Thanks for your help.

Means Adobe has not written code nor tested Photoshop CS6 in Vista.
You're free to try it on Vista but there's no guarantee that it'll work.
Some have done so with no issues. Others say they get funky behaviour sometimes.
In short, you're on your own with any issues and Adobe will not officially support that configuration - although the user-to-user forums may try.

  • CS6 turns off after usage of Formfilter Verzerren/Verflüssigen

    Hi all,
I'm using Photoshop CS6 Extended Version 13.0.1x32 on Windows Vista. When using the Formfiter "Verflüssigen or Verformen" after the next step suddenly the system turns off with the information that the Data Execution Prevention terminated the application from running. At the window system I can't turn off Photoshop from DEP.
    System Basics:
    Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
    IntelCore 2Quad, 2,33Ghz
    Arbeitssp. 4,00Gb
    Systemtyp: 32Bit
    Grafikkarte: Nividid GeForce 9600GT
    hope anywhere can help

This can happen with lithium batteries that have been completely empty and the phone not used for a very long time, say more than 6 months. If that is the case, you may succeed to revive it by doing the following:
Charge it for an hour or so,
    disconnect the charger,
    put the iPhone ON,
do not use it for 10 minutes,
use the phone for 1 minute,
    put the phone OFF,
leave the phone for 15 minutes,
connect the charger and charge for half an hour,
    disconnect the charger,
    put the phone ON,
do not use it for 10 minutes,
use the phone for 2 minutes,
    put the phone to OFF,
leave the phone for 10 minutes,
connect the charger and charge for half an hour,
    disconnect the charger,
leave the phone for 10 minutes,
use the phone for 2 minutes,
    etc
do this 4 or 5 times: it sounds silly, but this has a scientific base, it tries to move the electrons again in the battery.
At some point the battery may come back to life completely. I have had the same three times, and in all cases it worked (2 Nokia, 1 iPhone).

  • Howto update Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6 on Windows Vista

    Hi there,
i am trying to update the Camera Raw Plugin in Photoshop CS6 to the latest supported version 8.3 but i can not make it work...
    What i want?
I want to view the RW2 Raw files from my Lumix GX7 in Photoshop CS6 and Bridge.
Lumix GX7 needs minimum Camera Raw 8.2 as of this site Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
Camera Raw 8.3 is supported for CS6 as of this site Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
I found this link Keeping Photoshop Up-To-Date but there is only the latest version 8.6 available which does not support Windows Vista.
On this site Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.4 there is only the DNG Converter available.
Help Information in Photoshop shows Camera Raw 7.0 installed and now updated available (up to date).
The only other file i found was Camera Raw 8.5 here Camera Raw updates cannot be applied but does not help me either...
Has someone solved this problem before and could tell me how? Am i missing some hidden option to make the update work?
    Greetings from Germany

    You've tried Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6?
    Or this 8.3 updater
    http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw7-7.0/8.3.52/setup.zip
If that doesn't work, you can install camera raw 8.3 by following the directions on the following page
Adobe Camera Raw Help | Camera Raw/DNG Converter 8.4 on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP, and Vista

  • Premiere Pro CS6 opens off screen

I am running Premier Pro CS6 under Windows 7 64bit with two monitors on a single graphics card.
The application had been opening correctly but it now opens off the bottom of the main screen with only the top 1/8 of the screen visible. If I try to click or set focus to the application it just blinks, the window cannot be moved. If the windows is clicked and then I press Enter on the keyboard it closes. There are no messages or dialogs shown on either screen.
Any thoughts on why this might be happening would be greatly appreciated.
    Simon

I use maya and other stuff too, and have had 2 monitors before but they were the same ( same brand, same max resolution etc ) on an Nvidia graphics card. What I'm seeing with your screenshot might be an effort to " tile " the stuff ( I know it sounds weird but it looks like it to me ). I dont know what graphics card you're using and I am sorry but I dont have cs6, cuda, and 2 monitors now.. so I think someone else here would be better to help you with at least dealing with this aspect.
The way maya dealt with 2 monitors was slightly different than the way PPro did.. I could grab 'windows' off PPro ( timeline, effects etc ) and drag to 2nd monitor and do my workspace that way, then save that workspace etc. Maya was more like putting 'separate' menu items on the 2nd monitor...like " attributes, shading etc " .. know what I mean ???  Is different.
So get stuff working with one monitor is a suggestion I'm making only because it eliminates ONE variable in a problem... kinda like a controlled experiment.. you try to limit variables and come up with the solution that way ??  Sorry, but that's how I see this one of yours.
    ps.
your screenshot is different than my 2 monitor screenshots used to be.. .my 2 monitor screenshots used to be a combination of both screens..like way wide ( not 16:9 but wider ).. like a combination of the 2 screens... that's another reason I think something is whacky with the monitor thing. Maybe other people have different views on this ??

  • CS6 and Windows Vista

On various websites, yours included, it is stated that CS6 will not run on windows vista. However according to your article kb404901 it would appear that CS6 will run on vista as it talks about having to select either the 32 or 64 bit option, unlike XP or win 7 which load both versions. Please clarify this issue as I will be purchasing CS6 in the near future. I will be installing it on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running 32 bit vista ultimate and a centrino core 2 duo processor. If I do have to move to win 7 it will be win7 pro.

Giffoj - A correction in my previous post. Sorry about that.
Adobe dropped 32-bit support in CS6 for Mac. Hence that is 64-bit only. However, on Windows, you can use the 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your OS - Vista/ Windows 7. You cannot however, choose to run in 32-bit mode. You cannot install the 64bit on Vista. 64-bit can only be installed on a 64-bit compatible OS such as Windows 7.
Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks & Flash have no reported problems in 32-bit. However, you cannot install/run Premiere, After Effects, Encore & Speedgrade on a 32-bit installation.
The only key advantage if you use the 64bit OS and install the 64-bit Photoshop is that your computer can leverage more than 4GB of RAM (even if your system had more installed in it), which was not possible in a 32bit OS with 32bit installation.
Photoshop CS6 Native Memory Module offers support for way over 4Gigs of RAM which is something you can experiment/ enjoy only on a 64-bit installation.
However, in your case, you could install the 32-bit version of Photoshop on your Vista OS.
    I apologize for the confusion.

    I am on Windows 7.
    Can you advise me. Thankyou.

I am most impressed with your powers Mr Powers. Bulls eye, ONE HUNDRED & EIGHTY ! Spot on. I changed the font size in the controle pannel as you advised and all was working. As mentioned in the last post the other person who suffered from this problem had to work very hard for the resident expert. I antisipated a long drawn process similar to this this experience.

  • Any updates on official Vista compatibility?

Right now I am using the trial with LR and it seems to work great. In fact, I have just ordered the full version this week.
However, I am a little disappointed that Adobe has yet to officially support Vista! I am concerned because as I transfer my photos from PS Elements 5 to LR I would like to do a nice backup to DVD. Unfortunately the Vista version still does not directly support this functionality.
After all, MS is the OS used by the majority of computer users! So...any ETA on the official Vista update?
    Doug

I am running LR in 2 PCs. a Sony VAIO laptop with Intel solo processor, 2 GB RAM. and a desktop with XP SP2 with 2 GB RAM. all the pics in a NAS device and a DB replicated in both PCs.
No issues with Vista, other than most of the drivers for my peripherals are late. the driver for the EPSON 2200 was just released 2 weeks ago, the driver for the 32 bits CF PCMCIA reader is not ready so I used a workaround, etc. It will probably take one year before all the drivers and applications work well with Vista. LR works perfect for me on both OS and I am managing 10K pics so far.
One tip: LR was rather slow on Vista... until I discovered that Norton Firewall was sucking up 30% of CPU power!. I turned Norton Firewall off ad Visa firewall on and LR is back running as fast as in the XP machine (where I also have Norton)... I guess Norton will release some fixes soon :-) So check out if the firewall (and the side bar) are consuming processing speed on your Vista machine.
LR needs improvements and I am sure those improvements will come with time. But it works with Vista and I am super happy with LR today as I improved the speed of my workflow at least 5x versus Photoshop CS, as I mostly do just WB, exposure, metadata and cropping... when one works on stock photography and events photos, if you do more than that it is not worth it... and probably one needs to learn how to take better pics, not how to fix the pics with PS magic :-)

  • AI CS6 won't run start

I've downloaded and installed AI CS6 on my Windows Vista machine using the App Manager (Cloud). The exe file starts, then closes without opening the software. I don't receive any error messages. Any suggestions?

Adobe doesn't officially supported Vista, but I can run it. I downloaded the 30 day test version of CS6 right after my problem  and that runs fine on my computer. I got an Adobe Cloud membership yesterday and the version downloaded from the Cloud (using Adobe Application Manager)won't open on my computer. I tried again through the Cloud to download a different software, too (InDesign), and it does the same thing: I click on the exe, it shows up in my processes window, then disappears again without having opened anything. I never get any error messages for either software. Has anyone else using the Cloud had similar problems?

  • ANN: $30/month for CS6 Creative Cloud

Adobe is offering a low introductory rate of US $29.99/month for the first year to CS6 Creative Cloud subscribers who upgrade from any CS3+ products.
    http://9to5mac.com/2012/04/23/adobe-officially-launches-cs6-suite-offe rs-30month-introductory-pricing-on-creative-cloud/
    $30 x 12 mos = $360 vs their regular annual rate of $600.
What is Creative Cloud?  See below for details.
    http://www.adobe.com/special/tnt/ccm0001/_modal_faq.html
    Nancy O.

I'm at a disadvantage  because I haven't upgraded  since CS2.  To purchase a la carte (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat & Dreamweaver), I'd have to spend $2845.
Design Standard suite plus Dreamweaver will cost me $1698.
If I join the Cloud at regular rates, I'll only spend $600/yr.  So yeah, I'm tempted.

  • Can applications in Creative Cloud be installed on a Windows Vista operating system?

Can applications in Creative Cloud be installed on a Windows Vista operating system?

Your question is answered on the Adobe website on each individual product's page.
Bottom line is that, no, Vista is not a supported operating system for CS6 applications.
All support Windows 7 and Windows 8. Some support Windows XP to varying degrees.
None officially support Vista but some users have reported success in running them on Vista.
Your best option may be to download the Master Collection CS6 Trial and see how it performs for you.

  • ITunes 7.1.1 and Vista

So is iTunes finally compatible with Vista? Or are there still issues?

Yes, many people are annoyed by the Vista incompatibilities.
You can download and attempt to use the XP version. For some people it works fine, for others (including me) most things work okay but some things don't, and for still others it doesn't work at all.
Most of the problems seem to center around playing videos (especially if they are stored on SATA drives or RAID arrays) and around file permissions.
The only way to know whether it will work for you is to try. If you decide to go ahead rather than waiting for Apple to officially support Vista, make sure you have good backups and a restore point set prior to installing iTunes so you can recover if something bad happens.
