CS6 opens only master pages?

Hello,
Recently, I upgraded my Adobe InDesign from CS5 to CS6. Since then, I have had three different files displaying a similar problem - when I open them, these files, they automatically open to my master page. This was pretty jarring the first time it happened to me and I found myself staring at a nearly-white page!
Now this is not a huge problem, because I can use the Pages palette to open the actual page itself. But it is annoying, because there appears to be no way to change this so that ID will open up the page itself rather than the template it's based upon.
I cannot do a "Save" after I switch over to see my page because ID doesn't think I've changed anything in the actual file, (which in fact, I haven't).
I did print the file and it appears that I can still print all of my content, even if it doesn't automatically appear on my viewing screen (without specifying that I want to see the actual pages).
So my question is this: Would anyone have an idea how I could fix this? Has anyone else seen a similar problem where ID would only open up your master page(s)?

Good advice, Peter! I switched back to page view and re-saved the document under a different name. Now it's opening to page view as before. Thanks again!

How to upload only Master Page changes to server

Hi guys
I've been working on a massive website. It started out as a small brochure style website, but has now grown to a multitude of subpages and categories, etc. I exported the Muse site to html and started working in Dreamweaver, creating all the extra subpages, etc.
The client has now made changes which has to be done on my master page in Muse. I have done these, exported the site to a new location, and thought it will be as simple as uploading the CSS for the master page to the server to see the changes. It's not working.
Any ideas on how to upload only the changes I made to the master page to the web server?

Actually, Muse master pages and BC templates and fundamentally different in some key ways. While you can create a BC template using Muse, a Muse master page is not uploaded as a BC template.
svendextro, as Brad stated, once you edit outside of Muse you give up the ability to further edit within Muse. The content and settings on a master page are part of the code generated for each page. There is no independent master page in the generated code that could be modified in the way you're expecting.

Browser will open once and open only one page. It closes but then won't open again. How do i fix it?

In the last 24 hours my browser will open only once and go to only one site i choose. after that , i can go to another site but links won't open or anything else. After i close the browser , so i can restart it, it tells me firefox is already open. Problem is it never shuts down in the background. I have to use the task manager to shut it off so i can open it again. Funny thing is that internet explorer, works fine but i don't want to use it. I even tried reinstalling firefox but it did not work. I had to post this on a different computer as well.

Safari opens only Google pages

Hey guys,
I just bought my new MacBook White and have already started experiencing problems with it. Safari only open Google pages!!! How is that possible? Google.com, orkut.com, gmail.com... all these open. Facebook.com, download.com... none of these work... Google conspiracies?!
I have a LAN connection to the internet without any proxies. I have even tried installing Opera and Firefox, but none of them seem to fix the problem. How do I fix this?
Any kind of help will be appreciated.

What do you mean by 'safe browsing' applications?
Well these other sites have never worked on the Mac. Its a new Mac and its the first time I am trying internet on it.
The ISP isn't blocking these sites, but I was able to find out how I am able to connect to the internet. Actually there is a main server which runs Windows XP and Tune Up Utilities 2008. This server has to be on for other users on the LAN to connect to the internet. Also the other users have to have a version on Tune Up Utilities 2008 installed on their Windows machine for the internet to work. Now the problem is that I have the first Mac in the network. Is there a version of Tune Up 2008 available for the Mac or is there any other way I can bypass this obstruction?

File opens only in Pages

I create a document in Pages 08 and save it to the desktop. When I click on the desktop
icon later, a message pops up telling me it cannot be opened. So I have to go into Pages,
and open it using Recent Items. Obviously, this is a big problem. What am I doing
wrong that is making the icons not open? I also have Pages 06...the problem does not
occur there. Please help. Thank you.

I think Jerrold is right in that your Mac is trying to use Pages 2/iWork '06 to open Pages 3/iWork '08 files. But there is no reason you can't have both versions on your Mac. I do & don't have a problem. I think you can overcome this problem by using Get Info to "tell" OS X which application/version to use.
Highlight a Pages document in the Finder, highlight it & choose Get Info from the File menu. In the Get Info box, click the triangle next to "Open With." Click on this drop-down menu & choose Pages. To make sure you're choosing Pages 3, choose "Other" & navigate to the iWork '08 folder in Applications, then to the Pages application. Now click the "Change" button under the text that asks if you want to open all documents like this with Pages.

Master page is not refreshing

We are using JDeveloper/JHeadStart - 10.1.3.5.0/10.1.3.3.88
On master page, we have the following - Text input fields and one drop-down list.
On LOV page, we have the following Search values - Two text input fields and one drop-down list.
We have used ADF LOV in our project. We have used the Advance Search method to find.
As per the requirement, we have to disable the master page till user didn't find the value on LOV page.
To achieve above, we have set the value in SessionScope on Find Button of LOV page and checking the value on master page.
When we are opening the LOV from master page and after Find if we are clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV, it is not refreshing the master page and master page remains in the read-only mode due to this we are not able to update the value. After refreshing the master page it is coming in editable-mode.
Expected result - The master page should come in editable-mode after clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV page.
Actual result - The master page is coming in read-only mode after clicking the Add New button(custom button) on LOV page.

Master page means the page from which the LOV page is opening. Master page means the parent page from which we are opening the LOV(popup) page.
On LOV(popup) page, we have a command button(FIND), on which we have set the setActionListener tag.
Eg. <af:setActionListener from="#{'Y'}" to="#{sessionScope.find}"/>
Depending on this value, on parent page we are enabling/disabling the fields.
On LOV page, when we are pressing the "Add New" button(custom button), it is closing the LOV page but on parent page it is not updating the fields(i.e. editable mode). If we refresh the page, then the parent page appears in editale mode.

Master page not picking up images associated in ISF file

Hi
I am using FM11. RH10 as part of TCS4.
Last year I had created a master page and settings file (ISF). We are now revising it.
Some of our styles have images associated with them (Style name > Format > Borders and Shading > Shading > Pattern).
My workflow:
1.   Open a blank RH project.
2.   Link FM book. All the FM files are imported. But there are no images in the Project Manager pod > Images folder yet.
3.   Associate and apply the ISF file. Images show up in the Images folder. But they have this X mark against them. So I assume they are just some sort of placeholders yet. I check the topic where these images are used. They are empty as well.
4.   Import the master page. I get a message that images are also imported. The X mark against the images are gone and they show up in the topic as well.
That is how it worked in the previous version, which was correct.
Now, that is not happening. Steps 1 to 3 work fine. But when I import the master page (Step 4), The confirmation message does not mention anything about the images.
In both cases, the ISF file, master page, and the images are all in the same folder. Now the only way to get the images work is by manually copying all the images to the RH project folder.
Can somebody please tell me why this is not working the way it used to work? From what I see, I am not doing anything different. I have even opened the master page in an XML editor and checked. I did not see any difference.

Printing Master Pages

Hi everyone,
I have created a set of master pages and would like to print them or make a simple catalog for my reference. Id there a way of printing maseter pages without creating a real page out of the master and can I make size display inside the graphic frames as well as spacing around them on the printout?

How to Insert custom master page menubar above suitebar in sharepoint 2013

Hi,
I have created my custom master page. But it renders in sequence as Suite link bar, Ribbon bar, Master Page Navigation Menu.
I want that page to be as master page menubar, suite link bar and then ribbon .
Please tell me is it possible way to do it?
cause,ribbon is used often so if there is option when ribbon gets opened hide master page ribbon and when we click on browse in ribbon get the master page again.
Please, suggest me any way?

Setting a page as a master page

How would I set a page that I created as a master page? I would just copy and paste everything to the master page, but I created a pretty elaborate slideshow widget that I cannot seem to be able to copy (how would I copy and paste a widget?).

Do the following steps to make the most accurate move of content from page to Master.
> Open the page and do Edit > Select All (Ctrl + A)
> Do Edit > Copy (Ctrl + C)
> Open the Master Page and do Edit > Paste in Place (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + V)

Reusing Master Pages

Hi to all,
I'm a very new user of ID CS5, and I would like to know if there is a way to create a library of master pages so I can choose what I would in my document and import them. I know I can save an empty project with only master pages but this isn't fast way if I would to send a new master page model to my writers and then add it to already writing documents...

The writer isn't able to create master by itself. At this moment It sends me entire document so I can manually insert new masters but I would like to have a way to send it a file and it only click "Import new masters"...

Using Master Pages in more than one Muse site

Can I import a master pager from one Muse site into another so I can use it there without having to start the layout over from scratch?
And if so, then how?

Hello Angela,
You can do this by opening the master page from the source site, then use Edit -> Select All, copy and then go to the master page in the destination site, and use Edit -> Paste in Place. This will make the destination master page same as the source master page.

Why doesn't it show me the Second Master Page in Adobe Forms ?

I have an Adobe Form that has Two Master Pages. When I call the form through the program, It shows me only Master Page 1, it doesn't show me the Second Master page.

Interactive buttons on master pages only appearing on first instance in document [CS6]

I have a document being created for on-screen use that has next and previous buttons in the design. These buttons are on the master page with the 'On Click go to next/previous page' behaviour applied.
When the document is exported the buttons only appear on the first instance of that master page. IE. If pages 2-20 are created from that master, the buttons only appear on page 2.
I've seen other people reporting this problem in some other threads without an answer, so hopefully someone will see this who knows what the issue is.
I presume this is something to do with CS6, this is occuring in a document that was originally created in CS3 or 4. It's been revived for a new edition, and the buttons used to work perfectly under the old version, but now they're behaving as described. I've recreated them from scratch as well as using the previous version, but the results are the same.

Wasn't there an Acrobat issue that affected this as well? Make sure that is updated, too.
While I'm on it, this is being viewed in Acrobat/Reader, right? Anything else, especially Mac Preview is a bit of crapshoot.

CS6 master page problems with CS5.5 script

I've an extensive script created for CS5.5, that creates 16 documents, styles them, and adds them to a book file.
Under CS6, it still works fine, creates all the necessary stylesheets and master pages, but the master page items are shifted.
I've checked the position with the Page tool, and clicked Show Master Page Overlay, and the centre of the master pages are now sitting at the centre of the spread (which is also the zero point of the ruler).
I've tried versioning for CS5.5, but I can't get it to stick (compiling simply changes CS6 to CS5").
Can anyone tell me how to correct the problem? Ideally, I'd like to append the part of my script that creates the master page. This starts thus:

Each document only has three different master pages, but I now have to open all 16, and use the Page tool to shift the master overaly, which can be pretty time consuming.
Any pointers would be most appreciated.

I'm seeing this as well, but when I go to override master page items to a normal page. This code worked fine on CS5, but broke when we updated to CS6.
