CS6 & OSX 10.6.8 - saving files directly to the server does not work (most of the time)

Hi there,
we just switched from OSX 10.5.8 to 10.6.8
OSX was installed on a new partition of the harddisk
Then installed CS 5
Then installed CS 6 via (adobe creative cloud)
With CS6 we got also the problem with saving files to the server (program error)
It happens mostly with photoshop, sometimes with Illustrator.
I read a lot of posting regarding the same problem but didn´t found a real solution yet.
I am also wondering that there seems to be no solution for this now, because most of the posting i read are 1 year old.
Working locally is not really an acceptable workaround for us or anyone who needs to work with Creative Suite in a professional way.

After uprading to Win7 and FF 7.0.1 the file download from our intranet server stopped working. IE 9 and Chrome 14 does not have any problems. When I try to open for exmple this URL:

(By redbot.org I found out that there was two Content-Disposition headers. They were identical, but other one had one space character more. When they were corrected to identical then douwnload work. Now I still have to find out why there are two...)

Steve Muenchs file upload sample (No. 69) does not work with JDev 10.1.3.1

I installed and started Steves sample about uploading and storing OrdImage types (http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jsfordimage/JSFOrdImageExample.zip).
When I try to upload a file I get an exception:

I managed to correct this problem.
The situation is the following:
A CRUD page (Example: userList.jsp and userForm.jsp).
The first page there is a af:table with tableSelectOne and a Edit button. (theres also other components, like af:menuBar and af:form, html, body and head)
On submit, the backing bean(requestScope) gets the selected object (table.getSelectedRowData()), copy the values to the form fields and send (redirect=false) to the form page.
When i try to update, the fileupload does not work and ignores the valueChangeListener. All the other fields are updated correctly.
The form page is used to do Inserts and the upload works correctly.
The problem is, when you redirect (redirect=false) from userList.jsp (usesFileUpload="false")
to the other page, that uses the upload, the form page does not get the enctype="multipart/form-data"
To solve it, put usesUpload="true" in both page , and you will get enctype="multipart/form-data", and upload to work.
Changing components, the af:menuBar has a similar problem.
I got a menubar with 2 goMenuItem.
On each page the corresponding goMenuItem has selected="true".
On redirect, from list page to form page, the selected goMenuItem is the one on the ListaPage, and not the form page! It only changes if I click on the tab I want!

The blog was incorrect. Photomerge should work in the trial, too.
When things get weird in PSE the first thing to do is to delete the prefs. Go to the editor preferences>general, click this button and restart the editor:

This should be considered a temporary fix. It will saturate your Internet connection during periods of WSUS downloads in this configuration.
The correct and permanent fix should be to resolve the failure of your perimeter device to properly support the HTTP v1.1 protocol specification (which is now some 14 years old).
Either your device is misconfigured, or it needs a firmware update to support the full specification.

I know what your'e going through, Gary.   OSX 10.6.7 is an absolute disaster.   Since I upgraded, I've had problems in FCP, Logic, Garageband, even issue dealing with peripheral hardware like external monitors.
Before 10.6.7 my system was running fine.
I've brought this up with Apple repeatedly.   They smile and shrug.   They've been helpful resolving the issues, but none of them has been easy to solve. I have spent days, dealing back and forth with tech support, sending logs, etc., before solutions have been found.
I wish I could give you an answer to your question.   My only guess is that Apple has totally dropped the ball on this one.   In the future they should provide a disclaimer when they offer an upgrade. Something like:   "Caution: all of your software may not function after this upgrade. But go ahead, you'll feel cool that your OS is the latest thing."
As someone who has been with Apple for close to 25 years, I'm disturbed by what appears to be an increasing sloppiness in their work.   This is especially disturbing when you depend upon their system to make your living.

Have you checked to see if your PDF add-on is up to date? You should take a look at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article. There is a lot of good information in there. You should try both of the suggested PDF add-ons to see if that fixes the issue.

Want to open Kodak Photo CD files (.PCD) in Photoshop CS5. In CS4 i copied file "Photo CD.8BI" from an older version into the File Format folder. This does not work with CS5. Any fix?

I have several old Kodak Photo CD with PCD image files. I am now using Photoshop CS5. Some years ago while using Photoshop CS4 I copied a file: "Photo CD.8BI" from an older, CS2, version to the Plug-ins/File Format folder of CS4. This does not appear to work with CS5. Any fix?

It can be made to work, but you have to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5, and as I recall there's an additional DLL called pcdlib32.dll that's needed from the old installation.

This is more of a question for IIS 6 but since I couldn't find a forum for IIS I thought I would post here. I am migrating our Intranet site from an ancient Site Server machine to a rebuilt Windows 2003/IIS 6 machine. The Intranet uses ASP and
I have everything working and all pages display correctly in IE8 and IE9. However, we have several pages that contain links to documents on a separate Windows 2008 file server. These links work fine on the old server but on the new server nothing
happens when I click the links. The links are formatted as follows:

I have seen references about adding more slashes and have tested various forms like this:

and
<a href="file:///\\server2\openshare\dept\_Open_Read_Only\docs\schedule.xls" target="_blank">Schedule<o:p></o:p></a>
but no change. Nothing happens when I click the link. Note that the links are in HTML files and not imbedded in any ASP or VB code. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

File downloads not working most of the time

[I originally included this problem in another post; I should know better. I'm posting it separately here in hopes of getting some feedback about this other issue I'm having.]
When I click on a link on a Web page to download a file (maybe the latest version of Firefox), the Save dialog that appears almost always displays the file name without the extension. For example, I just tried downloading the Firefox installer. Instead of displaying the name as "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe", it displayed "Firefox Setup 13.0.1". The file type is listed as "binary file". Every once in a while (maybe one in ten tries), if I quit and relaunch Firefox, immediately return to the download page, and click the file link again, the file name and file type will appear correctly. Almost always, I have to resort to using some other browser to download the file.
I've tried deleting the browser cache; resetting Firefox from the about:support page; installing a new copy by downloading the installer file from the Mozilla site. None of this has helped.
The thing that mystifies me the most is the fact that, maybe 10% of the time, the file download succeeds. This (the file download succeeding) seems to happen only immediately after I launch the browser.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the instructions and deleted the MimeTypes.rdf file, then relaunched Firefox. Unfortunately, nothing changed.
I did notice something strange and possibly informative, however: When I tried to download the Firefox installer, the file once again failed to download. The Downloads window that pops up when I download a file gave the full file name, including the ".exe", and displayed "Canceled - mozilla.net". It appears that the file type isn't lost after all, but the download is canceled.
Any idea what could cause this?

J'ai un petit souci sous Photoshop CS6 et je n'ai pas pu le résoudre malgré mes bouquins, et mes recherches sur Internet.
Il s'agit de la barre espace qui ne fonctionne pas pour utiliser l'outil main.
L'outil main fonctionne bien quand je le sélectionne au niveau de la palette.
Quand je travaille sur une image, par exemple avec l'outil plume, si j'appuie sur la barre espace, la petite main apparaît bien, mais je n'arrive pas à me déplacer avec la souris dans l'image.
L'un d'entre vous a t il déjà rencontré ce problème ? Si oui, comment avez vous pu le résoudre ?

I used a different wireless mouse which worked fine. The issue is possibly related to Mouse/Touch problems.

The "New Tab" function does not work either from the tab bar, the File drop down menu or using CTRL+T

The new tab is visible on the the tab bar but clicking on it does not open a new tab.Neither can I open a new tab from the File drop down menu, nor the Ctrl+T method as indicated in the troubleshooting guide.
