CS6 Photopshop, Illustrator and Indesign crash upon opening Window 8 64-bit.

Runnning Genuine CS6 Photopshop, Illustrator and Indesign crash upon opening  without any error message... worked fine then stopped working.  Running it on Window 8 64-bit.  Have tried opening without 3d party plugins, resetting preferences, and uninstalling and reinstalling.

did you clear the caches?
and onthe off-chance that ID got far enough to leave something behind, find the InDesign Recovery folder (a hidden folder, I think, since Snow Leopard or Lion) and empty it if there's anything there.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Crash upon opening - Windows 7-64

I just had a rather weird problem occur today. I hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.
I opened PrePro CS6 like I always do and after the initialization screen I get to the window that asks me which project do I want to open, I click the latest project and after the load bar fills up a windows message pops up saying that their was a problem loading PrePro and that windows will search for a solution to the problem and than I have to close PrePro. I tried opening it again and the same problem. I tried opening a different project and it crashed just the same again. I tried restarting my computer, again I got the same results. I restarted my computer again and tried opening all my other Adobe apps and they all worked fine. I opened PrePro again, tried opening my latest project and it crashed again. I opened PrePro one more time but this time I created a new project and didn't change any settings, PrePro opened and worked. So I went to file, open recent projects, and opened the latest project (the one I had been trying to opening all along) and presto, it opened and worked.

    Weird.

  • CC Illustrator and InDesign crashing when moving objects

This problem began a week ago out of nowhere. I didn't install anything new or update anything that would cause any sort of conflict (as far as I know). I've tried suggestions in other posts such as trashing prefs, reinstalling, signing out of CC, moving folder, unplugging mouse, etc. I previously had CS6 installed and it was happening in those versions too.
I reformatted my entire computer to see if that fixed the issue, and the first thing I reinstalled was CC to ensure there wasn't anything else causing a conflict, but it is still crashing.
    I'm running on a late 2013 15" MBP
    Processor: 2.3GHz i7
    Memory: 16 GB
Graphics: Iris Pro/NVIDIA GeForce GT 750m
    OS: OS X 10.9.5
    Crash log: Process: Adobe InDesign CC 2014 [775] Path: /Applications/Ad - Pastebin.com

    Hi bodeintern,
    You can try these steps:
1     Try disabling the printers (If connected Wired or wireless)
2     Try making the Plugins folder as Plugins old in Application folder and then try to launch. If it works try to isolate the issue by moving a few plugins and then reload.
3     Try enabling the root user account and then try.
Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
4     Make sure Verdana and Tahoma fonts should be enabled.

  • Why do my CS4 Illustrator and InDesign crash occasionally with Mavericks?

I can not print a "booklet" in InDesign any more. Trying will crash the program. I've had crashes with Illustrator while moving imported images. This only began after upgrading from 10.6.8 to Mavericks.

Just found your question as I was looking for the same. Might be a bit late but this worked for me.

  • Handbrake and Twitteriffic Crash upon Opening

My friend is having this problem where whenever she tries to open Handbrake of Twitteriffic they either open and then immediately close or don't open at all. I asked her for her Handbrake log, I don't really know what part of it to post that would be helpful, any ideas would be great.

The reason I posted here is because the crashes seemed to be linked by Growl in someway. So it's a bit complex and was hoping that this has happened before where Growl would somehow crash various applications.
Ah, okay, Growl too. It does help to know the full background from the get-go. Still a set of third party software questions but... (you'll have to get help from a Growl user).

  • Indesign crashes when opening

When I go to open Indesign, the pink opening screen box thing opens, to start the program. But whenever it gets to "Starting up Trackers", the program crashes and won't open. Please help!

I am a student working for my college's IT department as an assistant. After some troubleshooting on a student's machine that was experiencing problems with Indesign crashing upon opening, I found that removing the "font.lst" files worked to fix the problem.
I am not sure if this student has recently installed a new font incorrectly or is using a corrupted font, so I don't know what the possible cause of the problem may be.

This is what pops up when Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign are opened.

  • InDesign (and Photoshop) crash on opening for only one user

I just spent the weekend "fresh" installing all of my software and data onto a new computer (MBP OSX 10.7.5). I have CS5.5 Master Suite Install Discs.
InDesign crashes on opening ONLY in my main "standard" account (Let's call it "Rebecca"). I'm prohibited by my university from regularly *working* in admin mode, but my admin ("Rebecca Admin") account opens and saves InDesign files totally fine. I also created a Test "standard" account in which InDesign works fine. I have tried (many times, orders, and ways for each solution):
    1. removing the preference files (and caches files)
    2. removing the SING files
    3. making my main accout the "owner" of the programs and their folders.
    4. running the Adobe July mini-fix icon updater (didn't work), tried to do the same "manually" (where I replaced the previous three files that the Adobe updater inserted).
    Nothing has worked.
Photoshop also works fine on my admin account and the test "standard" account, but says that I have inadequate permissions on my main Rebecca account (even though Rebecca is the "owner" now). It closes after giving me about three info monologue boxes.
I feel as though I have scrubbed the internet clean, and still have not found a solution. Any ideas?!?!?
I just spent 3 full days getting the new computer up to speed with the old one (that I must turn in), so "moving" to the test account is not a nice thought. I also don't really want to have to log into another account just to use InDesign!
    Many thanks,
    Rebecca

For anyone having similar problems, here is what solved the problem (that was clearly a permissions issue):
    Type into Terminal:
    cd /var/folders
    sudo rm -rf *

  • Adobe Illustrator and InDesign CS5 crash when trying to place images. Happens around 5+ times a day.

    Hi there
This Mac is quite new and was originally a migration (using Migration Assistant) from an older Mac.
Illustrator and InDesign in CS5 were both crashing often and most of the time it's when placing an image (in either application) – it doesn't crash each time I try to place an image, but 90% of the crashes are when placing an image.
We tried lots of things, like cleaning out the fonts, clearing font caches etc. After several months of that, we decided to wipe the Mac clean and start from scratch. It has been reformatted with a clean install of the OS and only minimal additional software added. Although quite a few fonts have been reinstalled, they all validate in Font Book.
One other thing of note is that the Adobe Updater fails to complete an update and so we have had to update each application manually from the Adobe website.
I would be so grateful someone could help shed some light on what is going on. Here's an EtreCheck report. Can also provide crash reports from the Console if useful.
    Thanks!
