That said, it may be able to be made to work... Visit nVidia.com and see if they have released an updated display driver for your hardware.
If not, consider buying a new video card. Even inexpensive cards today are insanely fast and support all the functions of Photoshop.

I already own the Student/Teacher Edition CS6 Photoshop Extended and want to buy the Design Standard Student/Teacher edition in order to add In-Design and Illustrator to my Mac. My concern is that, since Photoshop is included in the Design Standard collection, will my pre-existng copy of Photoshop keep me from getting a serial number/license on the other two products since I know you can only puchase one product per student? I was just hoping someone could clarify this for me before I spent money on something that I may not can use. I really want In-Design and Illustrator and this is my cheapest route as a student.

There will not be any issues, while you are installing the Adobe CS6 Design Standard, you would not have an option to install Adobe Photoshop CS6 as its already installed.
Alternatively, You may de activate and uninstall the Adobe Photoshop CS6(curently installed) and keep it as a back up and use the Photoshop which is a part of Adobe CS6 Design Standard.

Because your graphics card isn ot supported or at least its driver is not up to snuff. 3D featurtes require working GPU features.

You need to provide much more info: What files are you trying to place into what document? What are the document sizes, resolution, color mode etc.? Anything else we should know about? This could be a million things from color profile issues to color space mismatches to the files to be placed being damaged or badly structured or a importer module being broken. Photoshop/Bridge CS4 problem with AFP shares

I have recently purchased Photoshop CS4 and encountered the following problem: when opening images from a NAS share connected via AFP using File/Open command, Photoshop will correctly display the list of files but Open command in the File open dialog remains disabled after a file is selected from the list.However, I can open the same file by dragging and dropping it from the Finder to the Photoshop Dock icon or later using the Open recent menu command.
Similar problem is visible in Bridge: it will not display the image thumbnails from any of the subfolders in the network share.
I am using Leopard with the latest updates, I have a read/write permissions to the network share and Photoshop/Bridge are the only applications that have problems browsing/opening files from the network share. The NAS unit is a Synology DS-107+ with the latest official firmware.
Futhermore, I have noticed that I can work around the problem by opening the same directory in Finder. After the image thumbnails are visible in Finder, both Photoshop and Bridge will correctly open all files in that directory but opening files from other directories still has the problem.
Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing this strange problem?

This is the boilerplate text I use in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):

I tried the process you described on my machine using LabVIEW 7.1 and could not reproduce the behavior. If you can clarify the version you were using that will be helpful. I will have to clean a test machine and try it again without LabVIEW installed, and get back with you if the problem appears. In the meanwhile, I found the following KB which, while not referring to the exact same problem you are describing, does address the evaluation message issue. You can try to follow the steps at the end of the KB, and let me know if that worked.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't run, problem with Application Manager

I've now got three Adobo Photoshop CS products on my MacBook Pro, the latest is CS6 which won't run.
I own Photoshop CS3, I just happen to install the CS5.x suite today, which runs during the trial period (30 day, today is day #1).
I then see that PSCS6 is out so I install that and get an error dialog.

Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.
I go to that URL, run the new application manager and get that same dialog box when I try to run CS6.
When I did the CS6b install it asked for my Adobe ID/password and I entered that and the install completed. So I'm not sure what's going on.

I hope my "fix" is of help:
During one installation attempt I noticed that it was using an Adobe Application Manager here:
~User/Applications/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
It is version 6.0.236.0 and the installer deletes it after the install. The download page only has version 2.
So during my last install attempt, I grabbed a copy of that OOBE directory -- to catch the support files -- before deletion.
Did not work in user Applications folder, but when I copied it in the location of AAM 2, it works.
The full location is as follows (I renamed the original OOBE folder as a back-up):
HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
Authorization works, and software update seems to...however, uninstall can't use this method.

How can I download my registered CS6 Extended Photoshop and Illustrator and Flash?
Not the Cloud software - the static reward packages I got from Adobe last time I was a beta. I had to replace a bad hard drive and need to reinstall the software. I remain on Beta for several Cloud packages but use CS6 Extended for my daily work. I need the link! I have the serial number(s) for all the stuff in my account but cannot find a place to download it!!!

When Adobe bought Macromedia and put a version of Photoshop into a cold fusion forum for support I was one of the volunteers.
We had about 12,000 complaints about the new icons and not one bug find. That was the first and last time the company went public on anything. I used to spend a lot of time on the prerelease site but with the CC versions even the back end connections got hairy.

Photoshop found a problem with display drive ??

Now I have the Photoshop CS4 working but everytime it starts, it gives me the messege that the GPU enhancement is disabled. If I try to go to performance to enable it, the program crashes ????
I'm using aa ASUS EAH4850 and I have 5.9 sorce in Vista 32 H-Premium.
Can anyone please help.
I'm sure it's not a DEP problem as I just installed the CS4 on another PC with an old Graphic card, without even touching the performance settings and it worked perfectly and the Photoshop CS4 detected and used the graphic card.
What's the problem ?

Well, after what I did yesterday, updating the ATi 4850 drive to the latest, and updating the 11.0.1 of Photoshop CS4, everything went ok and the CS4 detected the Graphic card.
Today, I was asked for updates (Creative Suite CS4) and once the updates were over and installed, Photoshop went back to it's old story !!
Now everytime I start it, it gives me that error of GPU, and if I try to go to preference or General the program crashes.
I already enabled the graphic card in preference yesterday..
Now I really don't know what to do.... Shall I re install the 11.0.1 update ?

Cs4 photoshop top 40, problem with #30 - actions

I was using the lynda.com tutorials on photoshop when I was watching Deke's top 40... on # 30 - actions, I hit a snag... I was following along with the video, and I made the new folder, and the new action, but got a "can't do" sign when I tried to make the new layer to begin the processes... and I did load the files Deke provided, however, it wouldn't work at first, and I had to try it several times to get it to work... has anyone else had this problem?

I tried it again, and got it to work...
I opened a file to use as background, created the folder and created an action name, hit the record button, then clicking in the graphic to be able to create a new layer....
(The tutorial is on lynda.com)
It doesn't work the same when using a smart object... I think that is why it prevented me from making a new layer... and from loading the exercise file action...
I had to resize the canvas and set up my smart object FIRST before recording the action...

CS6 Photoshop Print Settings- Problem w/1/2" borders

I have started to have probelms with the printing pictures using the CS6 Print Settings box.
After I have selected all the appropriate Printer setups and set the Print size to 8.5x11 both in Printer Setting and in the CS6Scaled Print Size box I get the below Print Preview.
Both when I manually enter Scale,H&W and when I check the "Scale to fit Media Box".
It leaves the top and bottom with a 1/2" white border at top/bottom as seen below.
Any advice would be welcome.

There may be a interaction between your Printer Driver Settings and your Photoshop Print settings. May depend on your OS and Printer Drivers. I'm on a Windows 7 PC with Epson 4800 Printer. I opened a new black document set to be 8.5" by 11" at 300 DPI. I did some screen captures of Photoshop Print Dialog where I used the Printer setting button to set different printer setting so you can see the effect they have on Photoshop's Print Dialog. I have Photoshop manager the colors and turn off the printer color management. So basically all I use the printer setting for it to turn off color management and to set Paper options.

As you see the Photoshop Dialog changes after the Printer setting are changed using the printer setting buttons.
However your screen capture look more like a mismatch of Aspect Ratios. The print dialog shows portrait paper and your image windows shows a almost square aspect ratio the aspect ratio difference between your image and your paper is causing your white boarders. Your image is more square then portrait. So when its width is scaled to 8.5" wide some 229% the same percentage of the height does not reach 11". Aspect Ratio you must not forget about you Images Aspect ratio and your paper aspect ration you do not want to distort you image to fill the paper so crop you image to your Paper aspect ratio if you want a boarderless print.

Photoshop Elements 12 - problems with copying image

I'm trying to select a person from one photo and put them into a completely different photo. Using the selection brush (the lasso and magic wand didn't work with this photo) I have outlined the person then copied to the other photo. The problem is when I paste all I get is an outline, no content. I've also tried using the move tool with the same result, just the outline, no content. I've watched various videos and tried many other methods with no luck. Even unloaded and reloaded Photoshop Elements 12. Anyone had any advice? Thank you.

If you are using the regular selection brush, not the quick select tool, it only selects the area directly under the brush, so if you are using a small brush to brush around the outline, that's all you're selecting. The quickest way to fix it is to increase the brush size and hold down the shift key while brushing over the area within the outline, or switch over to the quick select tool, which finds the edges of objects automatically.

Photoshop Elements 9 - problems with locating photo files

I have saved my photos and my catalog on a removable hard drive. When my laptop's techical support had to unexpectedly replace my laptop's hard drive, it meant I had to reinstall Photoshop Elements 9, which we have done. For some reason, the My Catalog on the removable hard drive was showing that it was created in Photoshop elements 6 which was surprising since I know that I had used it in Photoshop Elements 9. I went ahead and converted My Catalog. It now shows the key tags,star ratings, and captions, etc. Everything except the basic picture. It is not looking for the files on the removable hard drive. What can I do to get it to look at the removable drive where they are stored with a matching file name in the appropriate subdirectories? The properties of the pictures seem to be showing the photos as being at various other locations that no longer exist! What do I do? I do not relish having to reimport, re-caption, re-edit, etc., etc. for hundreds of pictures. Photoshop's catalog sensitivity is really frustrating. I am about ready to go to another product. If I have to re-construct everything again, it will be my second re-construction of a PS catalog. And I will strongly consider a much more forgivng product.

Suggest that you make your own collage, esp. since time is running out. Do the math and determine the size that each of the 5 pictures should be, leave enough room to add text.
Crop each picture to the appropriate size.
Go to File>new>blank file, enter height and width of your document, background white, resolution 300px/in. The resolution of the pictures should be the same.. However, resolution 240-300px/in is probably ok for printing
Open the 5 picture files. Access pict. #1, go to Edit>copy, open the blank file created in step #3, then go to Edit>paste
Repeat for the other pictures. Each will on on its own layer. Use the move tool to position, and resize with the corner handles if necessary.
Using the type tool add text.
TIP: Open the grid to help you to position the pictures. The grid can be configured via Edit>Preferences>Guides and grid. You may want to check "snap to grid" under View>snap to grid

I Have CS6 Photoshop Extended on my PC. Can it be transferred to a MAC?

Has anyone been able to move there Photoshop from a PC to a MAC. If so, I would be most grateful to know how.
