CS6 Premiere Pro Sequence Preset in Windows & Mac

Recently I have downloaded the trail version of Adobe Master Collection CS6.
When I opened the Pr and trying to insert a sequence, there is only few presets.
For example, like the folder of Dv - 24P, dv - ntsc, dv - pal, dvcpro50, dvcprohd and mobile & devices.
However my friend was using Mac, he also downloaded the trail version for use.
When I opened the Pr in his mac, there are much more sequence preset!! Like AVCHD etc...
I just wonder why my windows would like that.
Any solution to solve this problem?

  • Exporting CS6 Premiere Pro Sequence in AE

I'm trying to export a CS6 Premiere Pro sequence through CS6 After Effects and some of the content that is present on my timeline is coming up with colour bars or just black when I'm trying to export from AE..... how can this be resolved?

    Thanks for your help Rick!
I'm working on a 2008 Mac Pro with Dual Quad Core 2.8Mhz Processors and 32GB RAM.
The sequence is .r3d 4K FF and the footage on the timeline is a mix of 4K FF r3d footage, some Animation codec (graphics from Cinema 4D exported via After Effects), some up-scaled 1080p and some 5k FF r3d footage.
The strange thing is that when I play the timeline in Premiere it all works fine but when I try to export the sequence in AE, that's when content shows up as colour bars or just black. It's all there though. I've tried disconnecting the media and reconnecting it, I've copied and pasted it to a new timeline, I've nested it as a sequence and tried exporting that but each time it's the same result.
I was thinking that I should uninstall CS6 and then try and reinstall it, but my Mac Pro I'm working off isn't connected online. I'd have to relocate the tower to where the internet modem is and I currently have a broken leg so it's not really possible.
Any other suggestions for getting this to work?

  • After Effects CS5.5 will not open a Dynamically Linked Premiere Pro sequence in the comp. window

    Hi all,
I'm trying to export a Premiere Pro sequence which is in 2K and the footage has been shot as RED 5K. Adobe Media Encoder will simply not work as I am having the quite widely discussed issue where it will just 'hang' at certain points and not complete the export.
The most popular solution to this problem is to export via the Render Queue in After Effects instead. However, therein lies the problem.
I go onto After Effects. Choose File -> Dynamic Link -> Import Premiere Pro Sequence.
The box pops up, I choose the Premiere Pro Project File then select the sequence I want to export. It then appears in the After Effects project panel window like so:
However - when I try and drag this to a new composition window, one of two things have happened. Either A) nothing happens (literally, NOTHING changes) or B) as the following example shows, it seems to add it to a new composition, but the video is entirely black. I have tried rendering it and it just produces a black video.
The other thing people seem to suggest is to just import the entire Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects. I've tried this, but any titles I have added in PP force the video to fade out then back in, in the place where the title should be?? So I can't export the video this way either.
    My system is as follows:
Thanks massively in advance for any help that is provided!

This is months old but I'm now having the same problem with AE and Premiere CS6 after updating last night: Dynamic linked sequence shows up in the project window in AE and even plays video if previewed, but will not drag or alt-drag into any comps, including a new comp (makes a new comp with matching settings, but empty).
Furthermore, I do actually have an earlier version of the same sequence placed in one of my AE comps, which I think was done using the same steps just prior to updating the apps last night. Did this break?
I'm a little concerned since the biggest reason I'm trying to use premiere is to eliminate the exports when adding graphics in AE.

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence Stops at 50%

I've been up for two days now looking thought these forums. I just need to output a simple, menu-free DVD and blu-ray disk.
    I recently upgraded from CS3 to CS5.5.
I tried exporting the "old" way, but can't just burn the work area. So I output to a MPEG-DVD file, put this new material in a new sequence, and tried Dynamic Link to Encore. Encore reads it all it, but stops with a "Import Premiere Pro Sequence" at 50%. I've let it run for hours, but it doesn't move past this point.
I'm running on an old machine - dual core, 8MB memory, HD6570 video card. I know I need a better machine, but if I can't burn discs, I won't make money, and I'll never afford anything faster.
I'm very disappointed. I'm not doing anything fancy, not much more than simple cuts. Seems like burning discs should be a no-brainer. Judging by this forum, Adobe has turned this seemingly simple function into a major undertaking.

Some observations; take them or leave them as you please:
I'm running on an old machine - dual core, 8MB memory, HD6570 video card.
I've resorted to burning using BurnAware
I've been using Premiere for over 10 years
All that seems to indicate you are running a Windows box.
I know I need a better machine, but if I can't burn discs, I won't make money, and I'll never afford anything faster.
it looks like Adobe has created another FCP user
A new Windows box will cost you far less than a similar-performing new Mac, which is what you'd need to run FCP.  Since you've indicated that the cost of a new system is an issue, you may want to rethink the Mac/FCP purchase considering its cost and the fact that you've already invested in CS5.5.  There's nothing wrong with a Mac/FCP combo, it's just that I wouldn't consider it budget-friendly.
Seems pretty cludgy for a semi-professional video editing product.
Agreed.  But most of Encore's issues are solvable.  No guarantees, but the users here are generally pretty good at getting to the heart of an issue.  They're going to need more info from you, however.  Please read here:

  • I Built My Project, And Now Changes To My Premiere Pro Sequence Don't Show Up In Encore

Once you build a project or transcode a dynamically-linked Premiere Pro sequence, Encore looks at the transcoded version of the sequence instead of the linked sequence.  To get Encore to once again look at the linked sequence, select the sequence and go to File | Revert to Original.

I have a Dell that's running Windows XP. I have found that itunes is very temperamental. this works most of the time... except on my son's computer that's running Windows Vista.
Go to your library in iTunes. Then go up to file and try one of the options (import, add folder to library, or add file to library).
Adding a folder is the least work. You can add all the files from a folder with one click... if it works. Remember that itunes is temperamental.
If that doesn't work, try adding a file. The problem with that is that you have to go through the whole process for each and every file (song, movie, etc).
Sometimes the only thing that works is to import.
I haven't gotten iTunes to work on my son's computer (Windows Vista).
I can't get support from apple in any way at all! They are good about creating electronics that appeal to us But they are lousy at support. If anyone figures out how to access support (where you can actually contact Apple) please let me know ([email protected]). I've been trying for 6 months.

  • Suddenly Media Encoder won't export to .avi from a Premiere Pro sequence

Came back to work today and out of the blue Media Encoder just won't export to .avi from a Premiere Pro sequence. Working with CS5 on Windows 7. That was the last thing I did yesterday before leaving work and it worked just fine, and it has always worked without any problems ever since I upgraded from CS4.
Here are the steps I always take: go to Export-->Media from the Premiere Pro sequence and the settings open up, I select Microsoft AVI - PAL DV, click the queue button, AME opens up but nothing loads, the queue remains empty and nothing happens.
I tried the same but selected MPEG-2 instead and it works that way.
I also tried opening the sequence directly from AME and it does it but it doesn't give me the option to export it to Microsoft AVI, it's just not on the list.
I deleted all preferences and old metadata options saved from all applications but that didn't help.
Didn't install any updates whatsoever that might have changed anything at all from yesterday till now.
If anyone knows what the problem might be and how to fix it, that will be truly appreciated, thanks in advance.

After a couple of hours going through the registry and every folder and file inside "Program Files--Adobe--Media Encoder CS5" and trying to find the problem, I did.
Thing is, the ExportAVI.prm plug-in file wasn't missing, it was there in the "Plug-ins--common" folder together with every other exporter and importer file, it just wasn't being loaded by AME for some reason. So i found a folder named "txt" and inside it there was a file named "AddExporterList.txt" which I opened and, as you could probably imagine from its pretty self-explanatory name, it contained a list of the exporter files that AME was supposed to load, and the AVI one wasn't on the list.
I wasn't sure wether it was best for me to edit that text file and add the AVI exporter to the list or just delete the damn thing, so i checked on an older PC with the CS4 suite installed in it and the "txt" folder didn't even exist, so I just deleted it and opened up AME again and it loaded every single exporter .prm file including the ExporterAVI.prm of course and it works just fine now, so that's a load off my shoulders, hope this might help someone else in the future.

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence grayed out in Adobe Dynamic Link

I'm using PPro CC, and encore CS6. I have created a finished sequence in Premiere Pro, and I want to bring it into Encore. When I go to -> file -> adobe dynamic link, the premiere pro sequence option is grayed out. Why?

OK, well that explains it. Does that mean that if I import a PProCC sequence into encore,
It means you can't import the sequence itself. You must export a file of some kind from PR/AME, then import that. And yes, there is no way to get your CC projects to update automatically to Encore. You must export a fresh file. You can use "replace asset" and such to simply changing the file.
I went to the link above, and was somewhat distressed to see that the industry is moving away from physical media in favor of streaming. Won't happen in my lifetime, but a world without books and records and DVDs and CDs, etc.? Scarey!
Adobe needed some excuse, and that was theirs. There is clearly a very significant number of users that are a) event videographers/editors who must deliver DVD/bluray to clients and b) hobbyists who want the disk format for themselves and to share. My favorite guesses are a) that Rovio's takeover of Sonic/Roxio voluntarily or involuntarily squeezed Adobe financially or b) they don't want to invest the dollars in other aspects of fixing/upgrading Encore.

Well, when I start working (should I say try to work with FCPX, activity monitor in the %processor column for FCPX jumps rapidly over 100% and reaches more than 200% ??? What the **** is that ?
200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem.

  • Downloaded CS6 premiere pro trial

I have download the Adobe Download Assistant.  I can sign in with Adobe ID.  The install for CS6 Premiere Pro after an hours said it was install successfully but I don't see a desktop icon nor do I have an entry in the Programs list.  I have restarted the computer.

After the download is complete it will launch the installer which you would still need to complete.  Do you know where you download the install files too?  Have you tried invoking the installer again?  Finally which version of Windows are you using?

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence Problems

Hello, I am new to using CS for video editing so forgive me if this seems very basic.
What I am trying to do, is bring a sequence from Premiere Pro into After Effects so that I can jazz it up with some compositing and effets etc.  I went to File>Dynamic Link and imported my premiere sequence.  It shows up in my project panel, and double clickign it I can view it as normal.  But when I try to drag it into my timeline panel to make a comp, nothing happens.  I have tried draging it to the "create new comp" button within the project panel, and all it does is create an empty comp.  Am I doing something wrong?  I am using Mac OS X 10.7.2

I think you're going about this all wrong. If you go to Adobe Dynamic Link and pick Import Premiere Pro Sequence you get a movie not a composition.
    I don't think that's what you want.
If you go to File>Import>Premiere Pro Project you get all of the footage, the bins, and either all of the sequences as compositions or a selected sequence as a composition. Only cross dissolves and cuts come across but the AE project can quickly become unmanageable if there are lots of cuts. I cut a feature film last year in Premiere Pro and there were just a little over 3000 edits. Can you imagine working on a comp with 3000 layers???
    The project looks like this:
The only difference between importing a movie and importing a Premiere Pro Project using dynamic link is that you can go back into Premiere Pro and re-edit the movie, then bounce back into AE and see the edits without rendering the Premiere Pro sequence. It's not at all useful to do what you describe in your original question. I didn't read carefully when I posted the first answer.
My usual workflow, in fact the workflow used in the project I'm showing here, is to go to one or a few of the shots I'm working on in Premiere Pro, select them then right click on the selected shots and choose Replace with After Effects Composition. This enables AE, allows me to concentrate on the sequence that needs the work in AE, keeps my AE projects very manageable, and lets me work faster and more efficiently. This runway show First Cut had about 15 effects shots, each requiring only about 3 or 4 layers. If I had imported the entire PPro project I would have had about 500 layers to sort out and the comp would have been completely unmanageable.

  • FAQ: How do I color grade a Premiere Pro sequence in Adobe SpeedGrade?

How to color grade a Premiere Pro sequence in Adobe SpeedGrade
You can color grade (color correct) Premiere Pro sequences directly in Adobe SpeedGrade. The workflow differs between SpeedGrade CS6, SpeedGrade CC (7.0.1), and SpeedGrade (7.1, and later) with its Direct Link workflow.
Please refer to the version you are using.

Subject: Premiere Pro CS5 features - PC vs Mac
Is that list of missing features for the Mac version of PPro CS5
still current, or has it been updated in the newer versions?
What is in the Help document should be current. (Sometimes you need to read the comments on a given page to see some updated information.)
    Or are
there any plans for including these features in future upgrades of CS5?
If you want to see something added or changed, http://www.adobe.com/go/wish.
    Do
you have any idea why these features are not included?
Premiere Pro came back to Mac OS only a couple of versions ago. At that time, porting some features over to the new platform was considered to be not quite worth it because the features weren't much used, anyway. In many cases, the effects and features that are on Windows only have alternatives that are available on Mac OS. Much of what didn't come over to Mac OS were obsolete effects; we need to keep them around so that projects created with them can still work in the new version, but in many cases there wasn't much point in reqriting them for a new platform.
    I'd love to
start using the PPro CS5 on Mac, but I am worried about some of the
missing features, that are quite useful, eg. Camera Blur, Ghosting,
    Color Replace etc...
As I said, there are alternatives-usually superior alternatives-that are available on Mac OS. For example, the http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS5C347E48-575E-469b-852C-74494022A4AFa.h tml and http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WSC924856D-FA9A-41c1-A930-966D90CD245Fa.h tml effects are available on both platforms, so the lack of the Color Replace effect shouldn't be much concern.
But, again, if you want to see something added or changed, http://www.adobe.com/go/wish.
