CS6 - Save Settings for Importoptions

Hallo Zusammen

Thank you for moving it where it goes.Sorry to have put it in the wrong place. The printer that I have to use needs it to be under 250MB. I am trying to find the highest print quality (no downsampling jpeg2000 lossless) with the smallest size (straight pdfx-1a-2001 or pdf x3-2002 that uses bicubic auto jpeg which of course is lossy). I have yet to find the ideal spot. Also I'm not sure if say it is better to use downsampling but keep it jpeg2000 med say over no DS, jpeg high. It has to CMYK, pdfx-1a-2001 or pdf x3-2002 and have all fonts embeded. The photos and fonts can't change.
Thank you for letting me know about the settings not being able to viewed. I had hopes of seeing what I settings I did last year. I've done 11 test with huge differecnes in size and photo preservation by altering the downsampling and compression. I have yet to find the ideal settings.

I have Firefox 3.6 on my Mac OSX 10.6.5 and it will not save settings for igoogle or my password for googlemail or hotmail. Can you help?

    Very weird day in Firefoxland
First on a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 I respond to an invitation to upgrade to Firefox 4 (like a lot of others). Long story short, I wind up losing the browser altogether -- including all bookmarks. Why? Because neither the Firefox homepage (or CNET downloads) makes it clear that 4.0 is for OS 10.5 only! Amazing!
Then I try to register to post a reply in a thread that crits Firefox for not making this System Requirements info upfront clear. But the Register page I’m taken to (https://support.mozilla.com/bs/users/register) is in SERBO-CROATIAN!!
Then I try to log into Chat a couple of times and when it’s not CLOSED its a long line waiting and THEN it closes.
WOW!! Are the wheels off the wagon here or what!?!

Doesn't sound like it.  It sounds like you're being logged-off.
Does your Mac go through the complete Restart cycle -- black screen, gray and/or blue screen momentarily, startup chime, etc?
If you're not sure, do a Restart just to watch the process; the next time the problem occurs, see if it's the same.
You need to know which it is, as these will have very different causes, and different places to look for a solution.

  • Cs6 Save file for Printer company

Question on AI master Parent file, or art brought into another AI file to send to printer?
I've created a flyer (2.83x11)  that I can now add 3 to an 8.5x11 sheet to get 3 flyers per sheet.  When I save the master flyer (the 2.83x11) I've flattened my text to outlines  at 1200 dpi then Rasterized my art to 400 DPi and then saved the file. OK
I then open a new art board 8.625 x 11.13 (for bleed) as I am printing to the edge (border less) I then place my Flyer 3 times  across  my artboard and when I go to save this to send to Printer here in-lies my question(s)
    1. When I save a new artboard with a linked Parent file will that linked info save to the file so that when my (Commercial  Printer) opens that AI file. Do I need to bring the linked Parent file with it too on my USB stick? Or will that artboard save all outlines and rasterized art on that 8.65x11 artboard?
Bringing me to a second question
    2. When I go to save that new flyer artboard of 8.5x11. I am asked or warned of 72 dpi rasterization of the newly placed flyer which should be saved and then placed at the 1200 and 400 dpi's as mentioned above. Yet I think I should go Effect>Rasterization> High or Other (fill in DPI)
Here is the question if I save that placed Parent, or linked file and then rasterize, choosing 1200 as is the text from the first saved file, it errors and tells me not large enough to rasterize that 1200 dpi.  IF I rasterize to say 400 dpi does this NOW affect that sharp text I saved in the linked Parent file of 1200?   In other words how do you save that file as it is saved in the master or parent Flyer when placing on an artboard for a commercial printer?
    CS6 AI not Cloud.

I'm going to take a stab at answering some if not all of your questions...
Question on AI master Parent file, or art brought into another AI file to send to printer?
    -OK, so far.
OK
    - Not OK.  As already mentioned, there is absolutely no reason to rasterize.  Instead, create a file, the 2 x 11 size ( if you want, but not necessary ) and then copy and paste that onto an 8.5x11 and add bleed there.  Leave everything live.
    - If there are bitmapped images that are not embedded, then you'd have to forward those onto the printer. Otherwise, the new artboard will have its own raster resolution setting which, in your case, should be set to High Res ( 300ppi ).
    - The final resolution is what you set your "Exported" raster file to.  But, as previously mentioned, all of this additional effort is for naught.  Your approach is setting up for prepress disaster(s).  Who gave you these file prep parameters?
    CS6 AI not Cloud.
    - Doesn't matter what version you use.  Doesn't make any difference.  I recommend you get Adobe's Print Publishing Guide.  It explains a lot of the information and procedures you will need to know before you proceed any further.  Not sure why you did the project the way you did?  Explain further.

  • PDF save settings for new Firefox reader

I have seen discussions on how to change your own settings in Firefox so PDFs display correctly (Viewing PDF documents in Firefox 19+) however I am looking for a solution on how to save PDFs so they display correctly within the default new Firefox reader. Our PDFs are looking bad and I can't go into each clients browser settings and fix (http://www.cherrybekaertbenefits.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/ACA_Infographic_072114.pdf). Are their any settings within the Acrobat Distiller that will fix this without the viewer having to go into their own settings? My team uses Creative Cloud so any updates or setting solutions would be greatly appreciated! I will report back if I find anything on the Firefox forums but so far I've seen nothing.

I believe I've found a solution. I had inquired on both the Mozilla and Adobe forums hoping someone out there was having a similar issue.
    Kudos to jscher2000 on Mozilla!!
    The Solution--
'Optimize for Fast Web View' appears to be the issue.
Note: When you uncheck this option the PDF becomes significantly larger but no more bad color. I've found if you also uncheck 'Preserve Illustrator Capabilities' and 'Create Acrobat Layers from Top-Level Layers' as well then the file size goes back down quite a bit.
    Optimize checked= 183k
    Optimize unchecked = 923k
Optimize, Preserve and Layers unchecked = 566k

  • How do I save settings for a View?

    Hi
Anyone who can help me, it'll be great...
I have created a view in eclipse. When the user opens the eclipse workspace that view is also opened. The user can use the view to search for code. When the workspace is closed the view is saved because the program calls saveState when the workspace closes.
However, when the user has the view open and does a search and then just closes that view (without exiting the workspace) the search criteria that the user previously enters does not save... so when the user opens the view again all the default search criterias are loaded.
What do I use to save the view state?
    Thanks

This question is really best asked in an eclipse newsgroup, e.g. the RCP group:
    http://www.eclipse.org/newsgroups/index_project.php
All I can tell you (I'm just starting out fiddling with this myself) is that FAQ 204 in The official Eclipse FAQ 3.0 is "How does a view persist its state between sessions". It says that you can use the JFace IDialogSettings facility for persisting view state in the case where your view is closed but not the workspace. Is that something you are familiar with?

  • Save settings for all future sites, albums etc.

I am working on an iWeb website and now put together lots of albums and image galleries. I have found a setting I like for the galleries for instance, such as 4 image-columns, a certain album style, 50 images per page and so on. But I have to set that manually for each and every page I work on. Can that become a general setting or can I simply copy the settings from on site to others.
    Any ideas?
I have around 100 pages to do, so less manual work would be much appreciated!!

thanks, that works on standard pages. But if I use the album template and insert my albums from the media inspector this doesn´t work as that drag-and-dropping creates the new site. Any ideas for that?

  • CS6 Export Settings for Apple Pro Res 422 HQ

My project is 1920 x 1080 (1.0) 23.976 fps, progressive and my special effects guy is asking for the project to be rendered out to Apple Pro Res 422 HQ. I can not find an export setting that offers 23.976 fps and is progressive. I have offered to give him an "XML" file but he is insistant. What can I do?

I believe you will only find this option on a Mac that has ProRes installed from some other application, like QuickTime Pro or Final Cut.

  • Save settings for rainflow-analysis at DIAdem-Script

    I wrote a script with DIAdem-Script. This script does a rainflow-analysis from a signal.
My problem is that I need 64 steps but the standard setting is 8 steps.
I program the rainflow-analysis with 64steps in DIAdem-Script and the script does is till I shut down DIAdem.
If I restart DIAdem and load the script with the 64step-rainflow-analysis, it makes only 8steps (the standard setting at my Diadem).
Now I want to know what I can do to solve these problem.
I want to have a script that makes a rainflow-analysis with 64steps at any time.

    Hi Christian,
We should be able to get this to work as you desire it.  These are the variables behind the class number dialog in the Rainflow calculation:
    CLASSMETH2      = "Automatic"
    CLASSNO         = 10
    CLASSWIDTH      = 0.0389656847322041
    CLASSBEGIN      = 0.50634440282565
    CLASSRANGEWIDTH = 0.389656847322041
    CLASSEND        = 0.896001250147692
What combination of these variables are you using and which values are you assigning them?

  • Unable to save settings in mail app for Mac OS X for iCloud mail?

    Hello
    I have two questions really.
1: I wanted a new email address, was happy to see I could create an iCloud email address - but it seems you need an initial email address to have an iCloud email address. As in, I couldn't use it as my apple ID?
2: I cannot save settings for my iCloud mail because the incoming server is 'greyed out' and the mail app identifies this as the incoming server being blank which it isn't, but I cannot edit it as the 'greyed out' font is locked and unchangeable. Apple state that the incoming server should read as:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
But mine reads this and it won't let me change it. Other wise the email works, but I do need to adjust the settings etc and I can't because the incoming server is apparently blank when it isn't.
    Server name: p09-imap.mail.me.com
I hope this made some sense to someone. I simply wanted a new email address and it's taken up the best part of an afternoon.
    Thank you.

    Problem Solved(ish)
I had to Apple chat, iCloud is set a certain way, and that's it.
They edited my full name FOR ME (I know).
Password is made to match your Apple ID, so that's how to change that.
As for Mailbox behaviours, as I said above - On the left side bar of Mail app, right click or Command Click under Mailboxes iCloud.com and select Get Account Info then> Mailbox Behaviours. Your settings will save then without the whole 'Can't save settings when incoming server is blank.'
I hope Apple will soon make that if they must have an auto-filled Incoming Server, that the Mail app will not recognise it as blank so that we can at least edit Mail preferences when and how we like it.
    Thanks.

  • PSE9 - import / open settings for jpegs - are there any?

    Hi all,
I'm a LR3 user mainly so have very little idea about PSE9 but my Dad's Panasonic Lumix FS10 takes all images at 180dpi and this cannot be altered.
Is there any way of getting Elements 9 to alter the resolution that it immediately displays the images at, as unlike LR3 there doesn't appear to be any 'export' facility where you can batch export loads of images and have individual 'save' settings for each export.
Altering each and every image to 72dpi before saving as jpeg is a complete pain in the whatnots.
I've tried the batch convert option for all open files but it saves a copy of each file which ends up bigger than the original!
    Many thanks in advance.
    Dave.

DPI is an arbitrary number set by the camera manufacturer.  Some cameras show 180, some 240, some none, which  is defaulted to 72.  The file size is not influenced by it.  DPI = dots per inch is only relevant for printing and should be referred to as PPI (pixels per inch).  The really important values are the pixel dimensions of an image.  Of course, the file size is also dependent on the picture quality and compression algorithms.  If you 'converted' from 180 to 72 and afterward had a smaller file size, then a additional compression must have taken place, which would have lessened the images' quality.
    Juergen
    Thanks for this Juergen,
are we now heading to the "eye of the beholder" scenario though?
If the images 95% of the time are going to be used for posting on the internet / viewing on PC monitor use (this being maxed out at 72dpi), and no image quality loss can be seen between the 2 (72dpi & 180dpi) files, the user may as well stick with the 72dpi conversions and have smaller files then?
When the user normally then reduces the image dimensions to 1200px on the longest side, surely the 72dpi verisons will be better for them?
Granted as I mentioned before, the images may get used for printing once in a while, but again, I use my full-sized images at 72dpi and can get pin sharp A4s out of them whenever I want.
    Dave.

  • Pedalboard - no way to save settings

Whenever I try out something new, I always check to see if there's a way to save settings once I've been fiddling around and find something I like.
I have been looking at Pedalboard and read about Import mode, where one can load settings for stompboxes.
But.... (*BIG BUT.....*)...I don't see any way to SAVE settings for individual stompboxes. Sure - you can save and load settings for the entire board, but what if you find a great setting for Heavenly Chorus and want to bring that into an existing Pedalboard setup? No way that I can see....
There also doesn't seem to be a way to even load settings for a specific stompbox. You can only load settings from categories (eg Fuzz/Reverb) which then load a stompbox with that setting.
Please tell me if I'm missing something. If not, this goes straight to Feature Requests...

Okay, I got some great advice from Orren and Per at Logic Users Group:
    +Think of it this way:+
+Everything inside Pedalboard is one plug-in. It's not multiple plug-ins inside one plug-in shell. So what looks like "saving one stompbox" would really be like "saving just the pre-delay parameter" in a chorus.+
+This is where Import mode comes in. You can save settings for the Pedalboard plug-in, and with Import, you can Import the settings for a single plug-in at a time. So if you're playing around with a pedalboard and find a great setting for Heavenly Chorus, save the setting as "Heavenly Chorus" and then you can use Import mode to import just the Heavenly Chorus settings into another Pedalboard.+
    and
+Do a Save As just as with any other Logic plug-in. Your unique Heavenly Chorus stompbox setting will be part of the saved plug-in setting. So from any other Pedalboard preset, that includes Heavenly Chorus, you may import that specific Heavenly Chorus setting.+
    Great advice - problem solved....
