hi. cs6 master collection serial has worked fine for almost a year but is now "no longer valid". pls help

Kindly reset the host file:
Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OS
Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Please let us know whetehr it worked.

Why doesn’t Adobe have a protected site for this type of support. How am I supposed to know that this is a public forum. Adobe needs to provide a better support system. I am just trying to get the software running for my users.

I upgraded cs5.5 to cs6 because I switched the platform from windows to mac. i downloaded it and not while installing it says that the serial number isn't valid. is it because i first have to deactivate the program me on my windows pc? how am i doing that then? thank you!

So then this is the same as the original posters question then... You must request to swap platforms and you are not allowed to use the same serial number if your are changing from Windows to Mac?

You must give up all licensing rights to your current platform or language version.

After using CS6 for a year, I suddenly get a message that my serial is invalid.

In November 2013 I purchased the Adobe CS6 Master Collection for educational purposes. After using it for a year without any problems I suddenly got the message that my serial is invalid.
I already checked the host file, uninstalled the update manager and tried installing the software on a clean computer with the original DVD. Since I'm unable to contact costumer service by phone (finally hung up after 2 hours of waiting) and since the online chat is unavailable, I'll try it via the forums. Please help me.

I tried what you suggested, but it failed. I first got a massage that deleting was failed, then I tried using the cleaning tool. At first the tool found something, what I deleted, but it came back. I restarted several times, closed all browsers, etc. Now the cleaning tools won't find anything but it still didn't solve the problem.
The only thing I didn't do was:
In a text editor, such as TextEdit, open /Users/[user name]/Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log.
Review the log file entries. If any of the entries indicate failure, contact us.
I tried, but couldn't find the file...

Serial number invalid since this morning

Since this morning my Adobe CS 6 Master Collection serial number is suddenly invalid. So all my Suite programs start up in a trial version...
In "My adobe"> "my products" it does display the serial# under "products in use" but when I enter this it says the # is invalid.
My guess is that the serial# is seen as in use but somehow the Master Suite I have been using for over a year now has forgotten this serial?
Please help! I have tried contacting the Adobe Narender help-bot but without luck...

I was online with support last night from 2:00AM until 6:00AM because of the long wait times, dealing with the same issue. The answer was: your license is good but now it isn't because it expired. It was a permanent license but it is set to expire after about a year. Then, you have to send us proof of purchase (after I already registered it) and the only proof of purchase we'll accept does not include digital sales (like mine) through online shops. So, I get to ask pretty please that the reseller create a form that has nothing to do with the way they normally do business so that I can prove to Adobe I bought the software they acknowledged as purchased when it was first registered last year.

Installer says my serial # is invalid

Using the number on the original CS3 packaging. Serial number has been typed and retyped several times.
The numbers are entered correctly, yet every time it tells me the number is invalid.

You should have mentioned these details in OP , I thought you have installation issue with the CS3 but you are actually installing Cs6 , and there is no details in OP of this.
Now , When you install the upgrade (in your case CS6) then a check happen wherein it authenticate that you acutally own a old version of software and have a bought a genuine upgrade , not fooling Adobe.
This authentication process start after you enter upgrade (cs6) serial number.
In this process , it first check your computer for older version if unable to find then ask for the old version serial number.(cs3)
Sometime , the serial number doesn't get accepted and give you error message 'Serial number is not for Qualifying version" wherein you should follow http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-qualifying-product.html and contact Tech support for Unlocking.

CS6 REDEMPTION CODE INVALID

I'm pulling me hair out! Trying to install Photoshop CS6 (mac). Went to web site www.adobe.com/go/getserial and typed my 24 digit redemption code into the six fields. I was very careful not to mix the zero (0) with the leter O.
When I pressed "enter" there is a dialogue box continually stating the code is invalid!
Purchase was from Amazon about two months ago.
Please, any suggestions?

Curt, thanks. Just completed a live chat with Adobe customer service and resolved the problem. Got my serial number and headed to my account to start downloading.
I appreciate your email and when I read it there was a gasp! Bought it through Amazon.

Check to make sure the program is a Mac version. s/n determines OS. If it is mac OS then call Adobe and ask them to verify s/n, it could be a fake program. Happens all the time on eBay.

CS5 - Serial becomes invalid when applications opened at new location.

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my issue...
I have CS5 installed on my MacBook Pro. When I installed it and entered the serial, it accepted it, and worked perfectly, at home. I then took my laptop to college with me, and connected it to the College's network. After opening CS5 apps whilst on the college network, suddenly the serial was invalid?
Can anyone suggest why this is happening?

Edit: Whilst in College, I have to change the 'Location' of my Mac from Automatic to the College's name due to Proxies that the College implies. Could this be affecting it?

I've not been in college for a few days so haven't been able to reproduce the error message as of yet.
I was thinking however, is a serial likely to link to my IP address?
My IP for my MacBook is different at college than at home... would changing my IP to the same as at home (if possible) solve the issue do you reckon?
Also, could the college's network, with the relevant proxies be what's causing the issue? The college has CS5 Master Collection installed... could this conflict with my version in that the network only accepts the volume licensed serial?

Serial number invalid after installing on second mac

I have an educational licence of CS6 (mac) I bought a year ago. Now I installed it on a second computer (mac) at the place where I work sometime (this Mac is nog registered to me personaly).
Soon after the serial was invalid on both computers. I deleted the software completely, but sadly i didn't deactivate it first. Tried to reinstall to deactivate, but the serial is now invalid.
What to do?

Hi, I have the same problem after replacing my hard drive. I reinstalled CS4 from the DVD and put the serial number but CS said the serial number is invalid.
CS is deactivated on other computer and also on old hard drive.
I need to work... I would greatly appreciate it if this can be solved quickly.
