CS6 sign-in problems on Mac OS
I am having the exact same problem. I have installed CS6 on my iMac. I typically connect via a managed network, however to rule that out as a possible problem I connected via my Sprint MiFi. Same results. Still get the same error message. Cannot connect.

last night I upgraded to cs6 creative suite and web design from cs.5.5. install went fine but will not allow sign in to register product. it says, can not connect to Internet or your clock time is wrong. I spoke with live help last night, they said to uninstall cs.5.5 after you deactivate it. They also, said there is an issue and to speak with tech support. Today, I spoke with them and was working along and just got disconnected, but, I received no call back. This seems to be a too common of an issue. anyway, I have uninstalled cs6 and reloaded cs5.5 and all seems fine. no doubt, there are rollout issues with cs6 creative suite, just from reading the comments, but for such a wonderful company and product, there should be no shame in telling clients I'll investigate the issues and get back with you, or yes, we are seeing some difficulties in some client installs and are working to fix the problem. at any rate, could you let me know what you think the problem might be, because I sure would love to get cs6 up and running. Clock time is correct and I can connect to Internet and I have turned off firewall (bitdefender), antivirus and antispan and tried the sign in but no dice. worked thru some of these issues with Matt,( tech. support) before we got disconnected. thank for any help you can give...... I definitely will be waiting to reinstall cs6 sometime in the future................Adobe Rocks.
Thank you, I've completed all the steps listed and with flying colors all were successful. The problem seems to be elsewhere. I will try to install cs6 again later today and let you know the out come. My question for this reinstall is: do I have to deactivate cs5.5 and uninstall it prior to the new install of cs6? And is there anything else I need to deactivate and uninstall prior to the new install of cs6, like acrobat pro or anything else?

Adobe AIR 3 Performance Issues and Code Signing Certificate Problem
I recently updated to Adobe AIR 3.0 SDK (and runtime) doing HTML/Javascript development using Dreamweaver CS5.5 in a Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
The AIR app I'm developing runs well from within Dreamweaver. But when I create/package the AIR app and install it on my machine:
1. The app literally CRAWLS running it in my Windows 7 12G RAM machine (especially when I use the mouse to mouse over a 19-by-21 set of hyperlinks on a grid) --- IT IS THAT SLOOOOWWWW...
2. The app runs fine in my Mac OS X 10.6.8 with 4G RAM, also using the Adobe AIR 3 runtime.
About the Code Signing Certificate problem:
When I try to package the AIR app with ADT using AIR's temporary certificate feature, I get the error message "Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert: unrecognized_name".
I found some discussions on this problem in an Adobe AIR Google Groups forum, but no one has yet offered any resolution to the issue. Someone said Adobe is using the Geotrust timestamping service --- located at https://timestamp.geotrust.com/tsa --- but going to this page produces a "404 --- Page not found" error.

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy. What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM. But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install. It is like an infinite loop!

I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud. I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application. My AAM version is: 8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work. A window shows up during that install that says:
We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.

My bookmark glasses icon is missing as well as the bookmark icon from preference pane. There is no + sign to add to the reading list. Thawte Personal Email Cert - Problem with Mac Mail
Hi, I have requested a free cert from Thawte and there seems to be a problem with Mac Mail (using 2.0.7).
I am using Entourage to send a signed message from [email protected] to [email protected]
If I check mail for [email protected]
Mac Mail reports "There was a problem reading the digital signature for this message"
If I check the same account with Thunderbird, everything works fine.
Anyone else having or had problems?

Thanks for the responses. I requested another cert and that did not help. Here is the process I used after requesting another cert.
1. Logged into www.thawte.com and requested a new cert.
2. Using Firefox, retrieved the cert.
3. In Firefox, backed up the cert to a pkcs12 file.
4. Opened Keychain and deleted the first cert.
5. Imported the pkcs12 backup file. Imported fine.
6. Open Entourage, under tools, accounts, exchange profile, security, selected the cert Thawte Freemail Member.
7. Checked all 3 options (sign, include cert, clear test signed.
8. Created a test message from Entourage to .mac account address.
9. Checked mail with Mac Mail and signature fails.
10. Check with 1.02 Thunderbird and it comes back with valid digital signature.
Next, I sent a test email to my Exchange account from Entourage and that message verifies fine. It just seems to not work when I check my email with Mac Mail.

That could be the problem. If you actually mean DWCS6 and not DWCC 2014.1.1 when you say "latest" (check out Help > About Dreamweaver for your actual version) it requires the older Java SE 6 to be installed on the Mac. See if reinstalling it helps...

System Problem or .Mac Problem???
Hi everyone
I recently gave my old slot-loading mac which runs Panther to my aunt who was happily getting the hang of all things Mac. We also have a Mac Groups site and we post family info on this. For some reason the photo albums on this site is suddenly not accessible from her Mac. (It had been up til recently). I have signed on as her/me/my sister to no avail. Everything else works perfectly fine. If she signs on on my Mac she has no problem. I set up various user accounts to see if I could solve it on the slot Mac but no dice. She is going crazy because we put up lots of pix from various sources. No other system on the mac seems to be having problems.
I can't think of anythiing else to do (I repaired permissions etc) other than a new install, but it's ages since I used Panther, I'm not sure how many disks should be with it (I've since upgraded myself on my Mac) and if I do actually reinstall from the original panther disks, what happens to the updates that would have been downloaded onto that mac since?
Would appreciate general advice and obviously specific advice re the Groups problem if anyone has any ideas on that.

If you do reinstall, it obviously won't install the Software updates that have been downloaded. But to avoid having to download them all again, you can use this method.
Before the Install, create a Diskimage and copy all the update packages in
/Library/Packages
and also the file
/Library/Logs/Software Update.log
to the DiskImage and burn it to a CD.
After the fresh install, copy the packages from the CD back to their original locations and double click each one to install those packages using date to indicate the order of installation.
At the end of it, your Software Update log will still be empty because it doesn't log this manual procedure, so just to remind you of what has been updated copy the Software Update.log back to its original location, and this log will be correct as it will reflect the status of updates pre-reinstall.

PaoloSomewhere at either Macworld or here I learned that DVDSP 2, DVDSP 3 and now DVDSP 4 "internally" are major re-writes.
Support for HD among a few other items along with QT 7 which comes with Tiger means sincerely that one set of applications/OS is not going to be stable.
Personally I think of all the issues possible its DVDSP vs QT.
Unless you move to DVDSP v4 the alternative is to wipe the disk and go back to Jaguar (10.2) or perhaps Panther but avoid upgrading QT beyond 6. I advocate wiping the disk because I'n not sure an archive and install to down shift to an earlier version of the OS is possible. If it is I'd still worry about mis-matched files in all sorts of locations. -

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

After un-installing, run this program to make sure you got all the pieces.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice. -

In 2012, I bought Photoshop CS6 Extended (education edition) for Mac. Now I want to install it on my new Macbook. I have the correct serial number and product code, but I receive an error message: the software may be a false copy etc....What to do?
