Cs6 stopped working - changed to trial version

1 year ago i bought the student/teacher CS6 suite.
Suddenly it asked for a license code and refused to start up. I did'nt change anything. I lost the package of the dvd.
Ik asked my question on the 'live chat' but didn't get an answer in time.
Now Dreamweaver starts again but displays the message that I have a trial version that should be activated within some days.
How to solve this problem? Can I find the old key somewhere on my pc?

sometimes they behave like bulls in a china shop. Hhm, what concerns the community: the most here are users of Adobe's products, not Adobe's employees, ok sometimes someone of Adobe's staff risks a glimpse here at random.
Occasionally there are here in the forum helpful Adobe employees who try to help internally by making them ask to be notified directly. Use the search function here in the forum, so you might go into contact with these people

Normally they don't. You might have some sort of problem on your system, possibly a conflict with other software, or corrupt ID prefs or application. Trashing the prefs is easy, and good place to start: Replace Your Preferences
It will help if you tell us the OS version, whther you've installed the 8.0.1 patch, and how you are trying to access the commands, and what happens when you do. Is this isolated to one file, or does it happen with all files?

Illustrator cs6 stopped working

I have got a subscipriton to creative cloud. I have a laptop and a desktop. both were working fine until a few weeks ago when the desktop version of illustrator CS6 stopped working. all other apps are fine. totally wierd. have unistalled and reinstalled, and also repaired permissions just in case but it still wont work.
basically it boots up OK and then when you go to drop down menus its all greyed out so unusable. even quit is greyed out so i have to force quit to close it.
any ideas?? very irritating and im desparate to get this working asap as got a backlog of work to do.

Folio Builder-Indesign CS6 stopped working

Hey to everybody!! Every time that i want to open Folio Builder it keeps appearing the same thing. Adobe Indesign CS6 stopped working. I don't know why. I tried to reinstall digital publishing suite in case if some of the archives were damaged but i can't find a solution to my problem. Any suggestions?
The rest of the applications of digital publishing suite work just fine.

Thanks for replying! But I already found my solution! After a few weeks of frustration and putting this message online I found out that it was the default printer that caused the error. Normally I use a printer from my university network as my default printer, but this caused the error since the computer is not always connected to that network. Now I put the Microsoft XPS Document Writer as default and everything works fine.

Are you working with Acrobat or Photosohp? (You mention both PDF files and photos, so it's not clear.)
Let us know what software you're thinking about upgrading and we can point you in the right direction.

My system is slowing down after nearly two years, and I am dreading a reinstall - there always seems to be something you have forgotten! What really worries me is what happens to existing raid0 arrays seeing as the mainboard needs drivers. They are backed up, but I just don't trust a single level backup, and will have to add a further 3Tb of drive space to make a straight copy of the raid0 arrays. I also like the idea of Windows 8.1, but dread finding out that the drivers don't work!
The Premiere Pro hardware forum is the perfect place to ask about stuff like that. Harm, Bill, Erik etc. are super clued up on such things, so I shall run my concerns past them before committing.
So I wish you good luck again, and I know you'll make a plan before going ahead with it.

Hard Disks: 2 in RAID (7200RPM)

Can anyone help?. i am new to photoshop elements 10. i get this box come up on screen when i start elements "Adobe media core cs6 stopped working" . It appears elements still works but if i use smart fix for auto levels or colour the photo goes white....this never used to happen.

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. This is because PSE saves your settings each time you close the application. Problems can sometimes occur if you don’t let the program close properly or if you launch another application too quickly whilst closing down Elements. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts. To begin, close Elements.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. After a few seconds release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Alternatively hold down the three keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys for a few seconds; then release. You should get the settings option.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.
If that doesn’t make any difference go to the Apple website and check for updates to your Quicktime player.
Also check your internet security/anti-virus software is not blocking. For example the internet filter NetNanny is known for sometimes blocking the .exe file 'Adobe QT32 Server.exe'. It may be possible to add that file to an exceptions list to prevent blocking.

Can't save changes in trial version CS6

I downloaded the trial version of CS6 -- trying to decide if I want to upgrade now or wait a bit. I started working on a few files in it, saved before closing, only to find that my changes weren't made... or saved.
I thought this was "fully functional." Is this my problem or does it not save documents?

Something wrong on your end. The only difference between trial and licensed copy is the entering of the serial number.

By a system error I got the trial version of Photoshop CS6 in a language I had not requested. How can I change it ?

Trial versions use the system's default language or the one they were downloaded in. You need to download the correct version and install it.

Illustrator CS6 stopped working upon opening

Just over a month ago I had installed the trial version of Illustrator CS6 to try it out. I had also done the same with PS CS6.
I decided to buy and so bought the whole Web and Design collection. After ordering it I decided to remove the old trials to ensure a simpler installation of the whole package. So I uninstalled these the other day using the Program add/delete in the Control Panel and then deleted the folders that contained Adobe products except for my Adobe reader etc.
I had a few issues with Flash player after and a script in Word so I restored my computer to an earlier date and then just removed the bare minimum.
Now I have just installed the new package and everything works fine. Serial number, then logging in with Adobe ID then installing.
The issue is if I open Illustrator it opens but within seconds blanks out and a window pops up saying it has stopped working. I hoped that I could go into the Computer's add/remove to see if I could fix but none of the new programs are even listed.
I need to get some graphics done and really need to be able to open Illustrator ASAP.
If it helps, the exe file is in the support file folder which I did not know it should be in. Is there a way of fixing this easily? Like a fix program that could diagnose the issue?

Please note, all the other programmes open: PS, Fireworks, Dreamweaver. However Bridge also doesn't.
I also tried running as administrator and this doesn't help.

Just an afterthought. Could I uninstall and then reinstall? As it is on the same computer I assume Adobe would know that I wasn't trying to use the serial number a second time on someone else's computer. I just don't know what else to do. The live chat is not available until Monday and I really need to use Illustrator over the weekend to prepare a design for a client.

I ended up taking the trial download of Illustrator out of my recycle bin and reinstalling only that. It opened. However I clicked quickly on file before it had a chance to close as I read somewhere that can break the glitch. Right now I am not going to close it until I finish the work just in case.
I checked the Event Viewer but it did not give a reason.

CS6 stops working

My CS6 has worked OK for months, now after opening an image and then trying to print a MS Widow comes up saying "Windows is checking for a solution" which immediately goes into anothe MS Window saying" A problem caused the programme to stop working......" and it shuts down without any further advice.
I have tried reinstalling CS6 and my printer drivers all to no avail.
I don't have much hair left and it is going fast !
Any Ideas plesae ?

My system is a PC running Vista ; an Epson WF-3520DWF and Epson Photo R2400 printers
I have reloaded the CS 6 software and both printer drivers with no change
CS6 has been working perfectly well for some months on the same set up until yesterday !
I can load images either Jpeg or CS2 or PSD and as soon as I hit the print button I get a Windows pop up which says Windows is checking for a solution then another pop up saying CS6 has stopped working and the program closes.
I have since had an online chat with someone at Adobe who says despite me buying the program against an advert which says it was Vista compatible, Adobe does not support Vista and so no help. He says I should upgrade to Windows 7 !
He also mentioned running it in a different user profile on my computer which I have done and it works OK.
From a similar thread I have found from the support page and an earlier version of Photoshop it seems that it may be something to do with “preference files” which is currently beyond my knowledge/comfort zone !
Any ideas ? as I really don’t want to run another user profile on my computer and of course there is a chance that the second version could similarly stop working sometime in the future if I don’t get to the bottom of it.
