CS6 Stroke Issue?

Currently using the CS6 trial. I have issues occasionaly when trying to make the stoke less than 1pt, it either immediatly flicks back to 1pt, or says 0.5pt and hasn't changed on my artboard. Is it a glitch with me or illustrator?

I agreee with Monika it is the align to pixel option and you must have it turned on.
If you are making a web document it is turned on my default
the transform panel reflects this unless you do not have the options of the transform panel opened.
here it shows it
Here it doesn't
Here witht the option I choose .5 pixels in the stroke panel
The result is 1 pixel
This is the only way this situation manifest itself.
On the web you cannot have less than a pixel.
Otherwise you must have something installed on your system that is drastically effecting AI CS 6.
But I am certain that Monika is correct.

  • Stroke Issues with CS6 Illustrator

When using Illustrator cs6, why do some shapes automatically get stroked with a 1 pt. rule and leave it uneditable to anything less than 1 pt?

Under the Transform pallet, select all and uncheck Align to Pixel Grid. Then uncheck Align New Objects to Pixel Grid.

  • CS6 installation issues on my desktop, but not my laptop?

I recently purchased CS6 Production Premium, and am attempting to install it. I've installed Premiere on my laptop, as that and Affter Effects are the only programs I would conceivably need on it; the bulk of the programs are for my desktop computer.
However, upon attempting to install, I get the "Installer failed to initialize" error. I know that there are questions relating to this already, but I feel that the two-computer scenario gives me enough info that the issue should be significantly narrowed down.
If it helps, here are the potentially-relevant differences between the two computers:
    1) The desktop is 2009 and originally ran Vista, but now runs 7. The laptop is newer and runs 7.
    2) The desktop already has Adobe Flash CS3 installed; Flash CS6 is incidentally included in this new package.
I'm kind of expecting that the presence of Flash CS3 is the main impediment to installing, but that's speculation on my part. Any thoughts on the issue? Would uninstalling Flash CS3 resolve this?

I checked my specs, and everything seems to be fine. The only things it doesn't meet are the recommendations for Adobe SpeedGrade, which I don't plan on using.

  • Windows 8 Release Preview/Photoshop CS6 Licensing issue

I bought and installed Photoshop CS6 on Windows Consumer Preview and it worked flawlessly. I then installed Windows 8 Release Preview. This had to be a clean install. I didn't know I had to deactivate Photoshop before doing the clean install. Installed without a problem. Now when I try and run CS6 it says that the license has expired. I have done all the web and Adobe support told me to do but still has the same issue. Other than waht this article says: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-licensing-product-expired-cs4.html Adobe support isn't interested in helping.
    Can anybody help?

I do know there's at least one person on this forum who is using Windows 8 (Kelly is I believe his name) and has gotten Photoshop activated properly.
I've been testing Windows 8 for the past several days (in virtual machines).  Microsoft has actually made it worse to use in the release version.  They've completely removed Aero Glass, for example, so now everything just looks flat and lifeless.  I've written a book that describes how to configure and augment the OS so as to get work done with it.  But I'm not sure people are going to want to upgrade to it wiith it looking this bad!
Have you tried removing Photoshop CS6 and using the Creative Suite Removal Tool to clean remnants of it up, then reinstalling?  I'm sure the telephone support people would have suggested that; I'm just confirming.
Only thing I can imagine is that Windows 8's UAC system is somehow getting in the way of Photoshop retaining its activation data.  It's no longer possible, using the Windows 8 UI, to completely disable UAC, though it is still possible to do it through registry manipulation (something best done by power users and system gurus).  If one does apps will no longer run in the "UI formerly known as Metro" - which suits me fine, but may not be good for most folks.
Have you tried running the installer As Administrator?

  • InDesign CS6 PDF Issue: Unsearchable PDF document

    Hello all,
I have an issue that I've exhausted with days of Google searches. I have a text catalog created with ID CS6. Sections were PDF documents given to me from our engineering department. The book was created, exported and all went well until I found out that when I try to copy and paste the text into Microsoft Word or Note Pad, I get a lot of small boxes in place of the letters. When I try to search the text in Adobe Reader, I can't find words which I can see are there.
This is the first catalog I've created in CS6. Previous catalogs created in the exact same manner in CS4 & CS2 do not have this issue. I thought it could have been the infamous Arial Narrow font issue and researched that to death.
Any ideas would be most helpful. This is a 1300 page catalog that customers cannot search.

    1. LAUNCH Adobe Acrobat
    2. Using the File menu, OPEN the corrupted document. (I don't know what to do if you're not even able to open the file. Sorry!)
    3. (VERIFY that Acrobat can't search the document, in case you haven't done so, just to avoid unnecessary work.)
    4. EXPORT: Once the document is open, use the File menu again, and choose EXPORT / IMAGE / PNG. Your corrupted pdf will be saved as a series of images with the file extension ".png", one for each page of the pdf document. Don't worry, they will be numbered automatically by Acrobat, and they aren't terribly large. My document was 200 pages long, so I got 200 little image files in .png format. The export may take a couple of minutes. You won't get any further signals from Adobe to tell you it's done--just go look in the directory that contains the original and see if it made png files with names like:
    chemistryBook_Page_001.png
    chemistryBook_Page_002.png
    5. COLLECT: Once you have the image files, collect them all by cut and paste into their own directory.
    6. OCR: Under the Document menu, choose OCR TEXT RECOGNITION / RECOGNIZE TEXT IN MULTIPLE FILES USING OCR
    7. ADD FILES: You will be shown a dialog box with the title "Paper Capture Multiple Files" with the subtitle "Run OCR on a set of images. There is a button that says "Add Files". Click this button, choose ADD FOLDERS, and browse to the folder that contains your png files. Highlight that file, click OK. The files will then appear within this dialog box. Make sure that the files are in the proper order, or you will be sad. Click OK.
    8. CHOOSE OUTPUT OPTIONS: Now you will get a dialog box entitled "Output Options". You have several choices to make here:
TARGET FOLDER: Click "Specific Folder", then Browse to your folder full of images, click "Make New Folder", name the folder (something like "CHEMISTRYBOOKIMAGEFILES" so you can find it easily and know what is in it, click OK.
FILE NAMING: Click "Keep Original File Names". This will preserve Acrobat's automatic numbering of your files--you will need that to get the page ordering right! UNcheck "Overwrite existing files" just to avoid a terrible mishap, unless you are very pressed for disc space or unless this is your 5th time attempting to follow these instructions and you've already got 'way too many duplicates of the output files. If you have the disc space, just make new empty folder for your 6th try.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Select "Save File(s) as Adobe PDF. Click OK.
Now wait for Adobe to execute optical character recognition on the image files. Its output will be one little pdf file for each little image file that it OCR's.
    9. COLLATE THE FILES INTO ONE: Under the File menu, select COMBINE / MERGE FILES INTO A SINGLE PDF. This step is optional; maybe you wanted a bunch of little files, or maybe you wanted to divide your enormous original document into 2 or 3 more manageable documents. To divide the file, just make a separate directory for the png files you want in each smaller final document, and repeat steps 6 through 9 for each directory. BE CAREFUL WITH NAMING! Make sure you choose a unique name, because if you got something wrong, you will want to be able to go back to your original corrupted pdf and try again. If your original is named "CHEMISTRY.PDF", please remember to name this new file something like "CHEMISTRY-FIXED.PDF".
If you really despise pdf, you can try using different output formats in Step 8. I do hate pdf, but I chose pdf for two reasons: one is that I had more confidence that that pdf would retain important features like charts and graphs and labeled photos in my document. The other is that I was so so so so SO tired of doing all this pdf crap instead of the chemistry work that I'd gotten the ebook to help me with that I didn't want to do anything fancy with file formats at this point. Let me know if you try output to rtf or ascii and get good results.
    10. TEST: Open the merged document(s) in all of the pdf readers and web browsers you will want to use with it, and try searching with it. Use your file browser and try to search for text in the directory with a word you know the file contains. Searchable? Good job, you're done, cheers!
Not searchable? Oh noes! Check that you opened the correct document (maybe you opened the original by mistake). Try the entire process again. If that doesn't help, try the entire process again, but output to plain text this time. My apologies, but, being a complete newbie myself, I have no further advice on this topic.
NB! My output PDF is of rather low quality. It looks like it was literally scanned from a 10th-iteration paper copy. Don't know how to fix that, after the fact or somewhere in the above process. It's good enough, so I'm just dealing with the shakey blurriness. I seem to remember somewhere that I could choose a high quality output, but, again, I didn't want to do anything fancy with vectors and rostering and layers and other terms that I don't know before I verified that I could do something basic and get back to chemistry asap.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 File Issues

Hello all, I just upgraded to the Creative Cloud on my PC, downloaded PS CS6 - Bridge and Camera Raw.  I'm configuring and working with CR2 files, no problem, however, Bridge will not let me delete, rename or update the metadata of my jpgs.
    Any suggestions?
    Captain

Curt, I'm running Windows 7 with 4 GB RAM - mother board won't support more than that.  I don't think permissions is the problem - same internal drive and the .CR2's work fine.  I can delete bad ones, batch rename and update the metadata no problem, it's just the jpegs.
OK, I have the same setup on another computer - same Bridge version, no problems with the Jpegs.  Issue here is, it's the backup computer and not my digital processing one with all the necessary drives.
Both computers are running Win 7 SP1 with 4 GB RAM 3.0 GHz processors.  Only difference is the digi system has 2 monitors.
Where would I check about "Read Only" for just the jpgs?

  • Photoshop CC 2014 Paths and Stroke Issues

    Hi!
    The first issue:
When i'm copying factor path and paste on a new layer it creates a vector mask instead of just placing vector shape, is there any solution on how to disable it? In 2013 version and older it just worked.
    And the second issue:
I work with very tall documents and when I make any changes to any shape's stroke PS just moves me to the center of the document. It's really annoying. Any solutions?

    factor path
Auto correction can be a tricky thing, huh?
When i'm copying factor path and paste on a new layer it creates a vector mask instead of just placing vector shape,
Do you mean a plain Path?
I suppose you could select/create a Path in the Paths Panel or deselect the Layer in the Layers Panel.

  • PS CS6: stroke color picker preview in real time not working

re: NEW color picker stroke color not updating in real time (previewing).
Is it me or has the stroke color preview been removed in CS6 or is there a setting that needs to be changed to enable it?
The problem: When I create a shape layer, press enter and then chose a stroke color from the color picker, I select a color but it doesnt update the stroke color until I press enter. I'm sure it used to change in real time as you clicked on the color picker panel before accepting it.
Any sugestions or ideas as to whats going on or am I going mad?
Further update: This is when creating a shape but using the new stroke feature in the properties bar at the top (the one which gives you the new fancy options like having a dashed, transparent or gradiented stroke) and not the traditional method of adding it as an effect. This still shows a real time update, but the new method doesnt.

If thats working so the color changes in real time for you, then unfortunatley I've got a problem with my version.
Using Win7 CS6 extended, and following your instructions it works for me.
Border changes withn I click on color pallet with color picker.
Odd, same version/ O.S. here, thanks for that though Curt Y. Are you sure you're not clicking on the preset colours and actually using the color picker dialogue box.
I've been in a bit of a rush here at the office and appologise for not being clearer and posting a screencap earlier.
To clarify, its the Cyan dialogue box not the orange box I'm talking about  (nice choice of colours I know ). The top right icon in the organge box with the colours in is how you get to it.

  • Indesign CS6 Font issue after saving

I have had this issue come up about about 4 times since I have been running CS6.
When I open a customers document everything is fine no errors. I save it the same way I do the rest of the 30 jobs a day. When I re open the fonts will not load. If I open the customers document again it is fine and all fonts work, this cause problems because all of th changes that have been done need to be redone, because the only way I have found to fix this is to save over it with a new copy of the customers files.
I am running CS^ creative suite on a intel 27" iMac OS 10.7.3
The file is being saved to a prinergy job server not sure what version of server software that is running. We have at least 30 jobs sometimes over 45 indesign jobs a day getting processed and it only seems to be a couple. I tried restarting indesign then the computer but no luck. If I have my troubled document open and the find font window open it shows that there are fonts not available, I then open the customers document and everythign is fine. With both documents open at the same time I can toggle between them and see the fonts are there for 1 but not the other.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you working with a Packaged file? If so, the problem is probably that youare moving the file out of the directory that holds the Document Fonts folder that is part of the package, or saving with a new name.

  • InDesign CS6 - Exporting Issues, PDF being sent to Photshop and saving as a psd rather than the requested pdf? Please help!

    Hi
I have an issue in InDesign CS6. It has been happening the last couple of days now.
When i export to pdf. regardless of quality instead of being saved as a pdf it is being sent to Photoshop which then saves the file as a psd...
I have updated InDesign to the latest CS6 update which helped the issue yesterday but today the same problem is back. Help please what could be the problem and how do I fix it?
    Any advice is very appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sam

ExportPDF is a subscription service for exporting PDF files into Word and Excel, from Adobe Reader. I suspect you need the InDesign forum, as InDesign is the product here.

  • Stroke issues - maybe file is corrupt?

    ID CS3
    Mac OSX 10.5.3
    Intel core
    2 GB ram
I am working with a very big file. It is 1 page, 2 feet x 2 feet and contains over 1000 graphic boxes, each with an imported tiff file. I know I'm pushing InDesign to its limits, but up until now, after installing extra ram and keeping the file at "typical" display, InDesign has been performing well.
The problem is that though all the objects have no stroke - i've verified this in the swatches and stroke palette - a light gray line appears around each of the boxes. in some places, the gray line does not continue around the entire box. Frame edges are turned off.
I thought that maybe it was just a preview issue and tried printing the file, but the gray stroke remained.
I've also tried copying and pasting the contents of the file into a new indesign file, but the strokes still remain then too.
So, if anyone has any ideas of how to tackle this, I'd be greatly appreciative!

    >I've also tried copying and pasting the contents of the file into a new indesign file, but the strokes still remain then too.
What happens if instead of copying all of the contents of the original file, you copy only a small number. If that gets rid of the gray strokes, then try increasing the number copied over, until the problem reappears if at all.
If the problem occurs with only one object copied, try closing the original one, saving the new one, closing it, and reopen it. What then?
Also explore placing some of the tifs into a new fresh file. If the problem still shows, then it is nothing to do with the original file, but something in your installation. Try deleting the preferences.

Edit: Does it happen in Tiger? Check that even if you have to take it to another computer.
Edit 2: Also try an inx round trip.

  • Indesign CS6 Printing Issues

Having looked at the forums and found Adobe support less than helpful I am hopping that the comunite will be able to help me out on these frustrating issues.
We are having a number of issues while trying to print from InDesign CS6 to our OKI C830 printer
    Our setup:
    OS: Windows 8 64bit
    InDesign CS6 Version: 8.0.1
    Printer drivers: PS: 1.2.0.0 & PLC: 1.0.7.0/1.1.7
    Printer: Oki C830 /256mb RAM / V1.16
    Issues while printing from InDesign:
Printing multiple pages causes an error - undefined offending command stack error
After printing the first page successfully we get the error above.
I implemented the fix outlined in the following link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2878922#2878922Changed the print option from Binary to ASCII – this helped in so much that we could then print one or two pages as needed.
Booklet printing – When trying to print a booklet it seems that the spread is not understood by the printer Try to print a booklet from ID 6 the pages are printed at random onto a single A4/3 sheet of paper.
As a work around we are fourced to create the document in ID CS6 and then expoort it to ID CS4 for printing.
Also as a side note I have tried printing to our old HP printers and they work fine. Also this issue was present on Windows 7x32 as well.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
    Cheers,
    Matthew

The issues you are having can be caused by driver conflicts on the Operating system. If windows * installed the drivers automatically, it may be the wrong drivers. If they were installed from the disc, they may be outdated for Windows 8.
    Please take the following steps.
    1. If printer is connected by usb, disconnect the usb cable from the computer. If printer is connected on network, turn printer off.
    2. Click start then click "Devices and Printers".
    3. Right click on printer icon and click "Remove Device"
    4. After icon is gone, single left click on Microsoft Document writer and then click Print server Properties at top of page.
    5. Click on the drivers tab at the top of that window. Select anything that says "Oki" and select remove. Then select remove driver and driver package.
The driver package may not remove but it's ok as long as the driver is successfully removed.
    6. Go to okidata.com and click on "Support" at top of page. In the grey area, select download a driver.
    7. Next to select technology, click the dropdown window and select multifunctional product.
    8. Another dropdown window will appear. Select the MC860MFP.
    9. You will see three boxes. The center one will be titled "Find a Driver". Select Windows 7 X64 edition.
    10. Select English MC860nMFP Series 64 Bit PS Driver for Windows (This will be the fifth option down.)
    11. In the Driver Download Info box to the right, click the blu underlined file titled MC860Win7x64PS_ENU130.exe
    12. Follow the installation instructions.

  • Acrobat X Pro CS6 install issues

I installed acrobat x pro as part of the CS6 trial. I previously had Acrobat 9 as part of CS4 and it worked without issue.
I redownloaded just acrobat and did a "repair" of th install, but that didn't work either.
Should I just uninstall? Or is there something as a conflict with CS4?

    I installed CS6 while I still had CS4 loaded.
I am unable to open Acrobat 10.
    So I repaired 10.
    Still didn't work.
Now, I am asking for solutions. Do I need to go back and uninstall all of CS4 and then reinstall to try again?
