CS6 suite is taking over 4 hours to download on my new MacBook Pro.
I am trying to download the CS6 siute on my brand new MacBook Pro w/ retina display (no other new programs other than the MacBook's standard programs are currently on the computer). I began around 7:15am this morning and it quickly downloaded up to 85% of the program. It is now been at 85% ever since and the "time remaining" has slowly gone from 6 mins to now 40 mins reaminig to download. It is now just after 11 am. Is this normal or is this program not downloading properly?
it's not downloading properly which is dependent on your internet connection, not what programs you have running.
you should probably delete what's been downloaded and start over.

When Purchased - I purchased this Macbook Pro about 4 days ago.Microsoft store will provide a download manager (.exe) using your Product Key, which needs to be run on a PC. This manager will then let you download an ISO image to a USB and/or DVD.

Updates to CS5 are failing to download on my new MacBook Pro
I just recently took delivery on a brand new MacBook Pro 15" with Yosemite. I still own CS5 and I installed the basic software and made all the necessary updates to the OS, but the updates for the entire CS5 will not install.
I open the Adobe Install Manager, select the updates available, I will get the progress of the download all the way to the end but ultimately the downloads fail.
Here's what I get in the Adobe Manager:

I keep trying...by quitting and trying later, still no good. I've tried this five times. My internet is good, I just finished the OS updates and downloads, but the CS5 updates still aren't completing.

How can I get updates for Photoshop CS5 to download to my new Mac book pro where CS5 is already installed from my original disk? I have tried many times over 2 days. I get the same error messages re downloading error. I successfully downloaded the current version of Adobe DNG Converter & it installed perfectly. Help please!
The Adobe auto updater is highly unreliable.
You need to look for and download the update yourself and then manually apply it as per the detailed instructions on the download page:

Can I connect a windows laptop to use its drive? Or can I drag the install onto a flash drive?
Don't think the Windoze PC will let you do that. If the install media is in .ISO format, yes you can drag it onto the Mac's storage device. If you double-click on the .ISO, it will automount without requiring the optical media.

How fast is your internet - sounds as though it's 1Mbps or less?
For HD movies 6Mbps is needed for near instant playback.
AppleTv has to prebuffer much of the movie to allow uninterrupted playback if you have <6Mbps, how long this takes depends on the average connection speed - at 3.5 Mbps currently it takes around 40 mins for mine to buffer HD whereas Sd is near instant to play.
AppleTV2 has limited memory and using it to do other tyhings while a rental is prebuffering can flush any downloaded protion requiring you to start again from scratch - it can be better to rent in iTunes then once it's fully downloaded play on AppleTV under Computers>iTunes library>Rentals column.

3 hour download for update for new MacBook Pro?
My husband just brought home his new MacBook Pro, and is trying to set it up. It is taking 3 hours to download a software update over our broadband connection. Is this normal?
That is your wireless connection speed not the broadband speed. It is tough to see the broadband speed with out doing a speed test at Speedtest.com or going to broadband reports . com and using their tools page and the speed test.
Once the update downloads finish do some speed test to get a reference on how fast or slow your broadband connection is.
If you have more then one computer do the tests on both to see if the new mac has the same speed as your other computer. You can also do them on your phone with a mobile speed test through your wifi connection to your broadband. -
Hi! I work with Photoshop/Premiere Elements 10 on my snow leopard (10.6.8) without problems since years. Now I want to move over to the new MacBook Pro (and lion 10.7.5) but only Photoshop runs on it, every Premiere version (I downloaded Elements 12 and further more) stops installation and shows Installation ERROR: ASU has quit unexpectedly, Media DB Error: 18. I have an old black MacBook (2006) and want to migrate to my new MacBook pro i7. The migration assistant offered me the prospect of migrating via wifi. Stated at 108 hours to transfer about 400 gig. Now revised down to 85 hours. Why is this so so so long?? Is there a faster way? What happens if I cancel now. Is there a way to cancel? As there is no cancel button....
Ay suggestion sighing the next 80 hours very much appreciated.The 2006 MacBook has firewire. Use a cable like this. Boot the '06 with the T key held down until you see the Firewire icon. Connect the 400 port on the '06 to the 800 port on the i7. Run Migration Assistant. 400 GB will still take a long time, but it will be closer to 8 hours I think.
