CS6 too small on Surface 3 device

I just purchased a Surface 3.  Very happy with the device, but bought it because it touted being able to run Photoshop.  I installed CS6 and the icons are too small to read!  I noticed that Creative Cloud has a new option in Preferences called "Experimental Feature" where one can chose to "Scale UI 200%", however this is not an option with the CS6 Creative Suite I have purchased.  Is there a solution?

There is none. CS6 does not support high-DPI devices on Windows.

  • New laptop - cs6 too small to use!

I have just bought a new laptop with screen resolution of 2560x1440.
When I installed my cs6 software I found that it was too small to use!
Any help on what to do would be gratefully received - I don't mind if I have to purchase an upgrade if it enables me to use the software.
Would a second screen be any use, with a lower resolution?
    Thanks,  Judith

    Hi judith uk,
    Sorry for the trouble.
Photoshop CS6 does not support Hidpi monitors. We have to change the screen resolution to 1920*1080.
Please follow this Article from Microsoft to change the screen resolution: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-your-screen-resolution

  • Youtube and Playback Display too Small on Surface Pro 3

On my new Surface Pro 3 the display and playback of YouTube, Netflix, and most sites is miniature if not completely too small to use at all. The issue only arises on Firefox and since it is my browser of choice, I am desperate for a solution.

    Here is the image.

  • I've downloaded CS 5.5 on a new Lenovo with Windows 8.1.  The application area is too small to read.  Why?

I want to know why the Adobe Audition CS 5.5 loads on my new Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Windows 8, but the application window fonts are too small to read.

The device is probably equipped with a High DPI display.  The most recent releases of Audition CC (7.1 and above) support High DPI displays, but older editions do not.  You can reduce your resolution or adjust how fonts and text are scaled at your current resolution in the Windows Display Settings control panel to help improve this, but the need for multi-resolution assets and text support did not exist when Audition CS5.5 was released.

  • Type UI in CS6 in Surface Pro 3 is too small.  Adobe needs to isuue a fix for CS6.

I don't need to upgrade CS6 for any photography reason.  Adobe should make CS6 UI readable fro surface pro 3 users.  They have a fix for later versions.  Why not make it available in other earlier versions of photoshop.  This is not a question of adding new features, it is a question of making the UI readable.

However good software companies like Microsoft fixes bugs user report on their Current  Software.  Adobe should fix bugs on current marketed software  like CS6 Adobe chooses not to. Microsoft fixed XP till the middle of 2014 years after windows 7 and win 8 were current.   Bugs go unfixed in Photoshop release after release. Adobe Program support continues to be sub par year after year.

  • Cs6 user interface too small to use

I have just bought a new laptop with a high resolution screen - 2560x1440 - and like many others, I'm finding that the user interface for my cs6 software is too small to use.
I have just found the following advice for HiDPI devices on Adobe Illustrator Help:
For displays with resolution greater than or equal to 2560*1440, Illustrator can be launched at 1.5 times or 2 times scaled-up UI, depending on the OS text size.
I'm not very computer savvy, and I don't know how to do that - can anybody help please?

  • Illustrator CS6 - opens in window too small

Anytime I double-click on an Illustrator file to open it, the Illustrator CS6 window opens up too small to view the file. It comes up with an error message that says "Can't open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window; increase document area and try again."
If I then click on the box to expand the Illustrator window to full-size, then I can open the file. It's just frustrating that everytime I try to open an AI file by double-clicking on it, I get this error message.

Like many I'm experiencing the same problem.  'Can't open the illustration.  There is not enough room for the window; increase document area and try again.'  Running Windows 7 - dual monitors although I don't believe that's the problem.  Tried the suggestion in preferences uncheck 'open documents as tabs' didn't work.  Tried Properties shortcut tab choose 'Maximized' didn't work.  This is what I find, when I right click to open a PDF in Illustrator - I can open the first  illustration (if it was closed using Exit), but I get this error on the second illustration I try to open in the same way.  If I close an illustration using the X than when I try to open the illustration the next time I get the error message.  If I chose Close or Ctrl W - the next time I open the application I get the error - HOWEVER, if I close the application by hitting Exit it will open properly the next time.  Even if the first illustration opens properly I still have a problem with the second one.  Can anyone help as this is a pain.  Been using CS6 for sometime but this just started happening ~ 3 months ago so it didn't start with the upgrade.

  • CS6 Toolbars & Menu Too Small

I have just got a new laptop with Windows 8.1 and a 3200x1800 screen resolution. When I installed CS6, all the toolbars and menus are too small to even use. I have looked through these forums and, surprisingly, it seems like a common issue that has been going on for years. I've seen posts by Adobe employees that the problems would have been fixed by last year yet my interface is still too small to work.
What do I have to do to make Illustrator and Photoshop have icons large enough so that I can use them. There has to be a setting.

What do I have to do to make Illustrator and Photoshop have icons large enough so that I can use them.
You sign up for Creative Cloud. CS6 never supported high-DPI displays on Windows and even Retina support on Mac was limited to PS and AI. This madness really just started back then and nobody was prepared. As John said, nobody will ever do anything with CS6 again, so you have to live with it and use what tools your operating system offers in combination with your hardware like using a lower screen res and then scaling it 200%...

  • Dreamweaver CS6: font size in menus too small on 1920 x 1080 screen. [was: Dreamweaver]

    Hi,
I am using adobe Dreamweaver cs6 and my Laptop screen size 15.5 (39.4 cms) wide (1920 x 1080). My Dreamweaver software top tab menus like File, Edit, View, Insert, Modify, Format etc. these are menus font size too small in my laptop display so i am facing problem in development. I have try to resolve this issue through change to desktop resolution but after change the resolution of window property i have get only little bit change in font size of tab menus but i am not satisfied with this change if you have any other solution for this problem please reply me or email me on [personal information deleted by moderator]
    Thanks

Unfortunately, the only way to change the font size in the Dreamweaver interface is by changing the display settings of your computer. On Windows, you can change the size of text and other items without changing the resolution by selecting Start > Control Panel > Display. I don't think there is an equivalent on a Mac.
If you find the size of the menu items a problem, I suggest that you submit a feature request through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

  • ITS Mobile screen sizes too small on iPhone device

    Hi Everybody,
I am facing the some problems relating to screen sizes on iphone mobile. The ITS service and the templates were working fine at the desktop level..But, in iPhone, screen sizes are too small to view.We need to zoom it and enter.I have tried with screen format 16X20 and 16X20ITS.
Can any body provide the solution to fix the problem?
    Regards,
    Mahesh

You must have a very high resolution screen, also called HiDpi.
If you have Photoshop CC 2014, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Experimental Features and checkmark "Scale UI 200%"
If you have CC, CS6, or below, there is no way to scale the UI as of yet. There may not be. These products are no longer being updated.
At best I can recommend reducing the resolution down to around 1400 px horizontal. That's not the native resolution and defeats the purpose of having a Hidpi screen.
So only thing left aside from returning the laptop, is to work with a large external monitor, or for $10/monthly, join the Photography Plan and you can use CC 2014 and the 200% UI.

  • Cannot install on automounted device: incorrect "too small size" msg

    Hi,
To make a nfs mounted install of StarOffice, I change the directory during setup.
I want to use a directory that is nfs automounted so that everybody will hopefully have access to the install. ( If I ever find out how to do a network install. Can't find the doc on it ?)
When I specify the directory in the setup, a pop-up comes saying there is not enough disk space on it, which is wrong. I do not see why the setup program does not detect automounted partition size and to me this is a bug. It was the same with StarOffice 7 and is still not corrected in 8.0

Well, admittedly I do not know the answer on Windows. However, on a Mac you can change any font, including the system fonts. However, you need a free third party utility to do it. Download this and play around:

I'm having the same problem. I have just purchased
the Macbook Pro and the text display on the screen is
too small from the Menu Bar and drop down windows to
the text on Safari, Firefox etc..
Nothing I can do will make it larger.
I can not find anything on the Apple site to explain
    how to make it larger.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Fonts on CS6 are too small

Any updates to solve the problem?

Attach an external Display that displays more pixels at a lower resolution like a dell ultrasharp 32"  UP3214Q displaye 3840px by 2160px a 16:9 aspect ratio at only 140DPI text should be quite readable.  Before there were displays with high resolution DPI most displays had a resolution around 96DPI so the font used in applications UI were designed for 96DPI displays they should be readable at 140dpi.  I have used 15" 1600x1200 displays for years their 133DPI resolution display fonts slightly smaller and much sharper then 96DPI displays. Your MPB LCD has a resolution of 220DPI at that resolution fonts designed for 96DPI displaye will be less the 1/5 the size they display at 96DPI. At 140DPI they will be 1/2 the size as displayed at 96dpi. 2.5 times the size of text on your 240dpi display. Your MBP supports 3840x2160 via HDMI at 30HZ.
These days Applications and OS need to be updated to support high dpi resolution displays. This will not happen over night.  IBM introduced the 204DPI T221 22.2" 16"10 aspect ratio display that displayed 3840x2400 pixels 9,2MP in 2001 and UI fonts were displayed too small..  Its now 2014 some 13 years later.... • Elements 13 editor screen font, icons too small to read on Surface Pro 3

I thought this product was designed for high resolution screens. The Experimental sttings in regular Photoshop work fine. Am I missing a setting that is too small to read?

    Hi William,
Elements 13.1 provides manual control for settings 200% scaling for HiDPI:
Choose 200% and see if it resolves your issue.
