CS6 uninstall instructions

Hi. This is going to sound like a completely dumb question but as I can't remember what I did last time and couldn't seem to find the answer on google either I decided it might be for the best just to make a discussion here (no matter how short its going to be).
So my issue is that i recently purchased the CC pack, but I also have the older CS6. Now, I know that the CC pack is far superior and all to the CS6 in pretty much every respect, but due to my situation as a student and most of my classmates still using the CS6 I need to keep some of the components from CS6 so that I don't risk compatibility issues when we are working together, which we do alot (I got CC on my own volition as it was small price for me to get it but can't expect my fellow classmates to do the same).
Now, the solution i got for this is that I need to keep some of the older CS6 software despite having the newer CC version of it also (like say PS CC and PS CS6) but the uninstall is rather confusing as it just says uninstall options with no guide as to what is actually removed and what is kept in doing a partial uninstall.
So my question is simple: Is it the selected items that get removed or is it the deselected ones that get removed? Last time I did this, I remember doing it the wrong way but I can't remember what way that was, so I hope someone can help me with this so that I don't have to reinstall CS6 software again as it is a pain to keep going back and forth like that.
In advance, appreciate the help and thanks.

Hi Malcite ,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Under uninstall options, check the applications which you want to uninstall and click on uninstall button.
So, the selected items get uninstalled.
Please reply for any assistance.
Thanks

  • I've started getting pop-under ads every time I launch Firefox, and the uninstall instructions don't make sense, how can I stop these?

In the past couple of weeks, every time I launch Firefox, a full-size pop-under ad is also launched, regardless of what site I'm browsing.
The original ad was for a You Tube survey, and contains a link to coupondropdown.com, where there's a menu option for uninstalling. The uninstall instructions don't make sense, they don't mention what ad-on is controlling the ads, and I can't work out what's responsible for the ads from my very basic range of ad-ons.
The reason I'm writing is that the ads have progressed from annoying but harmless, to dangerous. The ad today was designed as a warning pop-up, text reads, "Threat Detected: Immediate Action Required. Fatal Registry Error ... click "Repair All" to eliminate all possible threats and clean your PC". I have screenshots of all the above.
I'm worried that another user, my son or mother, might take this warning seriously and install malware by accident. What can I do to prevent these ads? I expect this type of malware advertising on dodgy websites, but I'm getting them when I try to access hotmail, the news, etc, so it's not the website that's causing them.

Found the source using Microsoft Safety Scanner on a full scan. The culprit was a Trojan:Win32/Sirefef!cfg

The direct way to uninstall or Clean the CS6 Software is :

    2) Check the Link : http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    3) Follow the Online Instructions - Select /Type "  E   " for English  &    "   Y  "  for Yes

  • CS6 uninstall and reinstall problem

Hi there ! I was using Photoshop and iy was fine. Then, I downloaded the Photoshop CS6 Beta and try to install it, but I got the message that I already has a version of PS CS6. I was dumb and deleted the program without a properly uninstall. Now the CS6 installer thinks I have it installed but I have not, and I'm not able to find it in Programs and features. I don't know how to uninstall something I already deleted.
My question is: where are the peripheric files that says PS CS6 is installed ? I just want to avoid the installer to thinks I had PS CS6 installed. I can use regedit if needed, but I won't do anything without instructions.
Or, is it possible to force a reinstall over a previous installation ?
I know what is the problem, I just need to know where is the files that makes CS6 to think I already have it, cause I dont.
    I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit.

    B2martin_a,
Yes, that would be the correct approach, just as you described.

  • InDesign CS6 uninstall and re-install problems

Okay.  I had a project to work on for a class I'm in and wanted to open Indesign CS6 on my computer but I kept getting crash reports and the program would not open.  So.... I desided to uninstall it and re-install it figuring it is still part of my on-going cloud membership here, but now the program is not listed...so ... how do I get it back???

Hi,  Thanks for this link, but it does not help.  I was a creative cloud
member when the CS6 software first came out and so.that was how I came to
have the CS6 InDesign.  So....I have no serial number.  And yes, I do have
InDesignCC now, but I want to work on my project in a college classroom
that only has CS6 on the computers...and so I want to use it at home to
transport back and forth and without saving to CS4-level.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 uninstalling after restart problem?

Hi im having a problem with Adobe Illustrator CS6
I have installed Adobe Illustrator CS6 which was fine no problems.
The problem occurs when i shut the computer down then restart it, the short cut to the programme does not work.
In Start > All Programmes the software has a blank file next to it, meaning its not there.
This is also the same for extension manager CS6, tool kit CS6, help CS6, bridge CS6and adobe reader XI.
I also have on my laptop Dreamweaver CS5.5 could this have an affect on the newer software, as this too comes with extension manager CS5.5, tool kit CS5.5, but the older versions?
    My Laptop Spec is:-
    Acer Aspire 5742Z
Windows7 Home Premium Service pack 1
    Intel(r) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
    RAM: 4.00GB
    64-bit Operating System
    I have Norton Internet Security.
This is also playing up and can be only accessed on the toolbar right hand corner of the screen. (i dont think norton is the problem with illustrator)
**In safe mode i am able to see the icons in the Start > All Programmes and able to click the files and the software load***
Any help on the matter is appreciated.
If anymore details are needed please ask.
    Thanks
    Eran

We need system information. After you run the cleaner tool, there is no need to uninstall anything, which won't work, anyway. that's the whole point of the tool. You simply reinstall the app.

  • CC2014 app going haywire after CS6 uninstall

I am a Creative Cloud subscriber since the beginning. I was using CS6 apps but decided to upgrade to CC2014. I needed some disk space, so I uninstalled CS6 apps. I started getting a message to restart the applications and run as administrator. So I did. But why is this continuous?
Also, my file extensions won't associate with the applications. The file extensions don't even show up on the default programs window. Using Windows 7

Please refer to How to Move Adobe CC or CS6 Between Computers, or PC to Mac | ProDesignTools
    It has very good information.

  • How to troubleshoot CS6 uninstall problems?

After migrating to a new MacBook Pro (unfortunately without first deactivating source computer Adobe suite), I am now seeking to uninstall Adobe software on new MacBook Pro. Uninstallation repeatedly fails. I used CC cleaner tool, but no CS6 products can be found on my system. Also, this issue began due to licensing problems (Error: 213:5).

The cleaner can find nothing because in the technical sense nothing is there. You screwed yourself with the pointless migration procedure. If you don't want CS6, simply trash it, otherwise you licensing issues may require starting from scratch and reinstalling the whole operating system and installing CS6 the proper way.

  • CS6 Uninstall problem.

Hello, I want to remove the BETA but the cleaner tool has not been updated to CS6, and I cant find it in the control panel to remove it. How do I uninstall?
    Thanks.

If you have not fouled up the uninstall by using delete function just go the to Control panel (Win OS) and find CS6 and uninstall.

  • PS CS6 Download instructions do not contain English

Download_and_Install_Instruction_all.pdf -- downloaded from Adobe when I bought PS CS6.  It opens i Preview on my Mac (10.7.3) and begins in Arabic then many other languages.  Also, when trying to search this doc for an English word, Preview crashes.

The English page starts at page 13 in the pdf download. I had the same problem I couldn't find it the first time around.

  • I am trying to uninstall Bridge CS6, but there is no uninstaller.  Running OSX Mavericks.

I have Photoshop CS6 and Bridge CS6 installed on my MacbookPro, and would like to remove Bridge CS6.  I have followed the uninstall instructions for the other CS6 Suite of products I had, but I am unable to find a Bridge CS6 uninstaller.  How do I remove Bridge CS6?

  • Uninstalling cs6 beta

I am trying to uninstall CS6 photoshop and when i go to control panel and try to uninstall it doesn't do anything
as if the option doesn't exist
trying to uinstall so i can try and fresh install that might work

The pscs6 beta installation and feature notes file gives the following for how to uninstall:
To uninstall the CS6 beta from your system, please follow these steps:
Run the uninstaller from the PS directory.
On Windows, it can be found in the Setup/Remove control panel as “Adobe Photoshop CS6”. Please DO NOT attempt to manually delete the program.
On Mac, the uninstaller is available here: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS6..
Follow the instructions to remove Photoshop CS6. The uninstaller should automatically deactivate your copy of Photoshop CS6.

  • Uninstall CS6 applications

As part of the troubleshooting to install Creative Cloud apps, it was suggested by Adobe staff to uninstall CS6 applications, download CC apps, and re-download the CS6 apps.  Although hesitant, I tried uninstalling a CS6 app I never use (Dreamweaver).  Going to through the Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS6/uninstall Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 path, I started the uninstall.  Adobe Application Manager and then became unresponsive.  What is going on with these Adobe products that I can not install CC apps and now I can not uninstall CS6 apps?  With all of these issues I am having, I am becoming very discouraged.  I love using Adobe products, but this is getting to be a bit ridiculous.  I am so fearful that if I am able to uninstall the CS6 apps, I will not be able to install CC apps or reinstall CS6 apps given the recent history of problems I have had.
Here is a list of things I have tried thus far.  May not be in order since they are from memory and some have been tried multiple times.
    Deleted folders/files in /tmp folder
    Uninstall Adobe CC apps
    Uninstall/Reinstall Adobe Desktop Manager
    Run Cleaner tool
Rename suggested folders to old_OOBE and etc
Tried direct downloads of CC apps
Tried download from website, app downloads through manager, stalls at 42%; setup using 100% CPU
Tried terminating Adobe CEF Helper (all 4 of them) during setup, none will terminate.
Verified and repaired disk using disk utility
Verified and repaired permissions using disk utility
Deleted HEX folder containing Adobe CEF Helper files and tried install again.  (did this on a whim since I tried just about everything else)
    Cleaned up Adobe ID credentials
Tried uninstalling CS6 app (Dreamweaver) to test if I could reinstall CS6 apps.  Failed
I have no idea what else I can do.  Any ideas, suggestions, step-by-step guides, anything that will help me get CC apps on my MacBook Pro will be greatly appreciated.
Just some additional information.  I was able to download/install LightRoom 5 and I did download/install 3 fonts.  Sync works fine.  Just can not install/uninstall any apps.

Bstouff I would recommend reviewing the installation log files to determine the exact error which is preventing the installation from occurring.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret that installation log files at Creative Cloud Help / Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.  The process is the same for both CS6 and CC 2014 Adobe applications.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover.

  • Can FCE 1 Be Uninstalled Using FCE 2 Instructions?

Apple only give uninstall instructions for FCE 2 and HD.
There are none for the original version.
Can I uninstall FCE 1 using the same instructions as FCE 2 or is there some difference I should be aware of?
    Ian.

It's basically the same. Some of the pref file names are different, but the concept of what you have to trash is the same.
