CS6 update on new iMac says it'll take 121 hours
I purchased a new 27" imac w/ a 512 gb SSD and 32 TB RAM running Mavericks. Machine flies!
I installed CS6 and went to download the updates. They took 2 hours to DL but it says it'll take 121 hours tp update. WHAT?
It has been two hours later and says 120 hours, at 4.8%.
Any ideas why on earth they say it'll take 6 days to update? That can't be correct, can it?

If via iTunes, the update is around a gig, so if you have slow internet, it could be taking that long. -
I donwloaded photoshop CS6 to my new iMac. Opened photoshop but cannot openn a photo from iPhoto library - I get a message that says cannot complete our request becausse photoshop does not recognize this type file.

RickYou can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

Why does my new iMac say Migration Assistant on old iMac needs to be upgraded?
New iMac: 2.5 GHz Quad core i5 running Lion 10.7.2
Old iMac: Power PC G4 running Tiger 10.4.11
Migration Assistant app is installed on the G4.
OX software is updated.
Connected via Ethernet cable.
But computers are not seeing each other and the new iMac says "Migration Assistant on the source computer needs to be updated".
Any ideas what is wrong?You need to use the Migration Assistant on the new computer. You have to boot the G4 into Target Disk Mode - Transferring files between two computers using FireWire. Boot the new computer normally, and you should see a Desktop drive icon for the G4. Open Migration Assistant on the new computer in the Utilities folder.

I need to change the home folder name. I just bought this mac today and my cousin put his name in because he had to back up his phone while we were still at the store so he could get a new phone and now my brand new imac says his name in the home folder. This is very frustrating. I would not have let him put his name in there if I didn't think you could change it. Someone please help!
Delete his user account and create your own, using your name.

No, not normal in any sense of the word(unless your connection is that slow). Could be the servers are getting overloaded as you and everyone else in the world try to download this update. Try again later, like tomorrow.

Everytime I try to download a new version of itunes it says it will take 7 hours, then when I come back and check it I have an error that says Ive disconnected. What am I doing wrong?

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps. -

I have a disk with the programm on it ( official version) but that disk is in my other house in France .

I got connected to an English speaking helpdesk than and they speak English so unclear and too fast for foreigners!!

IPhoto PhotoStream not updating since new iMac purchase
I purchased a new iMac and transferred old iMac info. PhotoStream has not updated in iPhoto since the transition. Works on iPhones/iPads, but not iPhoto. Tried turning PhotoStream off/on in both iPhoto and Settings. Did not work. Any help?

and in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
