CS6 upgrade problems

Recently our facility upgraded from CS5.5 Axio & MX02 equipped Supermicro systems with Nvidia Quadro 3700 video cards to CS6 Mojito Max equiped Dell T3600's with Nvidia Quadro 600 cards.
We noticed that the older CS5 projects that did not require rendering now presented us with a yellow render line. We initially believed that this was due to the transition from CS5 to CS6, an initial inconvenience but something we were prepared to live with.
Once we began working with new material we noticed that this newly captured material also required rendering. We've created new projects and even created sequences from clips and still a yellow line. And although this would have little to no impact if we were making a file this causes unreliable playback when outputting to tape. We also noticed that no matter what we put in a time line, titles, bars etc generated by Premiere it all needs to be rendered. Were not talking anything complex, this is occurring on single layer events.
The only thing we have noticed a difference in is the player options found in preferences. On the CS5 systems there is an option for the Matrox player and on the CS6 systems where Matrox player is no longer an option. We have enabled the cuda acceleration which has removed the red line renders on 2 layer overlays but still the yellow persists.
We work in 1080i from HDcam sources and capture in mpeg2Iframe. Our CS5 systems wereSupermicro

Any thoughts, suggestions or philosophical insight would be appreciated.

Hi,
If there is no line in the timeline it means that Premiere pro has interpreted the clips and all the settings are ok to give the real time playback. Generally it is with the Clips captured from Premiere pro, but, if there is a slight change in settings or any thing is added in the sequence and Premiere pro has to make any change while interpreting then there may be a yellow line and once the yellow line is added it cannot be removed from the sequence.

CS6 upgrade problems and I can't sign in

I have just bought the CS6 upgrade (windows - disk) for Photoshop CS5 (which works well with my Nikon D800 files using RAW 6.7). 2 big problems: CS6 supplied with RAW 7.0 (7.1 required for D800 file) and though I have down loaded photoshop (and extracted and run) latest update for CS6, it has not upgraded.
So I cannot see my thumbnails in Bridge or open the files.
The second big problem is that CS6 keeps asking me to 'sign in' but doesn't allow me to because 'either my clock is wrong or or there is no connection to the Internet, clearly neither is wrong - now what?

Hi Noel,
Problem solved - I finally got Adobe customer support to sort it - it turned out to be my firewall giving a problem (although it has allowed me to install CS5 and other Adobe downloads in the past -therefore I didn't think of that).

CS6 upgrade problem

My Photoshop CS6 upgrade does not accept an installed Photoshop CS3, despite a message on a yellow bar code sticker on the end of the box saying the following versions are eligible: Photoshop CS3, CS4, CS5 and Photoshop Extended CS3, CS4, CS5. Another, white sticker on the side says I must have a valid serial number for the CS5, CS4, or CS3.x version of this product.The CS3 has not been activated yet, is this the reason or is there another problem? The CS3 box has a blue cover, not a multicoloured one. I can supply serial numbers if necessary. I am using Windows 7. Thanks.

Actualyl you may have done it wrong by installling CS3 without a serial number. The upgrade installer goes looking for a specific set of files that the activation produces. If possible, you might try activating it. Otherwise you might try the opposite - uninstall CS3, run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, remove the caps.db in the caps folder and only install CS6. It should then only ask for the CS3 serial for verification in the second step...

CS3 CS6 upgrade problem

I bought CS6 upgrade from CS3 when I was notified I had until end of 2012 to do this (otherwise after that date I could only upgrade from CS5). I didn't install the upgrade for a couple of months on my min computer as I was so busy but don't remember having any problems doing so, now I need to upgrade my laptop CS3 as I need to work away from home but when I go to add in the additional serial number of my previous version it only gives me the options to upgrade from CS5 etc, not CS3. When I put in my CS3 serial number it only offers to install the trial. Can I somehow get a serial number that will work? Thanks

Exactly what steps have you taken so far and what error messages are you receiving?
Are you upgrading a standalone version of CS5.5 or is it part of a suite? Is CS6 a standalone upgrade?

Install photshop CS6 upgrade problem

When trying to install Photoshop PS6 upgrade it wants me to close Bridge CS5 which is not running. What can I do to get around this snag?

Problems installing Acrobat X as part of CS6 upgrade

After upgrading to CS6 from CS5, my Acrobat Pro 9 stopped working - it would say that there is an error and shut down, each time I tried to open it. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Acrobat 9 and the CS6 upgrade. Latest reinstallation of the CS6, installed everything except Acrobat X, which comes with the package...
Any ideas?

Still not working. I continue to get the error message that “Certain elements of or these products are not able to be installed” (translated from French). In the following error log, it says (amongst other things) :
ERROR: Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory.

When I was uninstalling previous versions of Acrobat and Reader, it had warned that it couldn’t access the file C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf. I did try running the Acrobat Cleaner Tool as you recommended, twice, restarting each time but still no luck.
Any other suggestions?

I have bought the cs6 upgrade but I get these warnings coming up.
Serial number you provided is valid but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.
Why can't it see my CS3 EXTENDED?

I have got in touch with customer support and because I bought my CS3 from a ebay company it’s serial number is invalid. Adobe is kind enough to refund me the cost of the upgrade beware of EBay software products now.

Bridge cs5 camera raw 6.5 to 6.5 and new bridge cs6 preview problem

Hi,
when i actualize camera raw from 6.5 to 6.6 the preview can`t give me right preview after 1 adjustment in camera raw.Image apears like when we open it in camera raw and it last few seconds with the yellow exclamation mark.
Months ago the only solution i found after several instals was to turn back to camera raw 6.5.
Now im trying beta bridge cs6 and problem come back for me again.
I use Nikon D3x with 14 bits ~49MB .nef files in Windows 7 64 bits.
Is any one have same problem?And why only in 6.6 (and new camera raw 7.0) and not in 6.5?

The Canon 6D id NOT supported by ACR 6.7.1. It was supported for the very first time in ACR 7.3 whch requires CS6 to run.
Therefore you will never be able to open raw CR2 files from the 6D directly in CS5.
If you do not plan on upgrading, you can download the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 (always use the latest version, it's not tied to your version of Photoshop at all), install it like any other application and then run it on each batch of CR2 files to convert them to raw DNG files that you can then open in your version of Photoshop and ACR.

Acrobat X Pro won't open not long after CS6 upgrade

I upgraded to CS6 from CS4 just before the new year. I have been having problems with my computer being slow and noticed after installation that the 2 previous versions I had were still installed (silly me thought upgrades would just override these haha). So i googled to see if i could uninstall them without it affecting the CS6 upgrade and it seemed i could. So i did. Everything seems to have been working ok with the exception of my psd and indd files icons no longer show - the files appear corrupted however they open fine.
This morning when i opened Acrobat, it opened the file then suddenly closed without explaination or error. I have not been able to open it since. I have restared 4 times (as this usually helps when a program will not open) as well as stopped the acrotray.exe from running on startup. When i googled this problem it appears I am not the only one who has experienced this difficulty. Does anyone have anything that has worked for them?

The fix for this issue has already been rolled out via AAM update. Please launch Adobe Application Manager on your machine and update it. If you have already tried Solution 3 provided by Deepak and have updated AAM, this issue shouldn't come again. Alternatively, try Solution 2 and get rid of this issue quickly and permanently.
This hotfix was released in late October after we found out that most of our users were re-installing the application using DVD and were'nt able to update it. So we decided to provide it seperately. If you download and install CS6 from Adobe.com, the latest version of AAM is installed and that doesn't show this issue.
I suggest you to try Solution 2 and check if Exit Code 0 appears as a result. Do this on both the machines that you have. After applying the hotfix, if Acrobat is launched properly then you don't have to keep your fingers crossed for 30days.

Photoshop CS6 upgrade won't let me sign in. When it's getting ready to download, after I put in my seriel number it asks me to sign in however when I push the button I get a window that says "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." and makes me close the program.

Try to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Can any one help me with this issue. I earlier installed it from DVD but, i am unable to find DVD. I have a copy of full DVD Dump in network.

It was because i was installing directly from network dump.

Photoshop CS6 upgrade reinstall fail

On a Windows Vista service pack 2 machine.
I successfully installed Photoshop CS6 upgrade on my computer and it was up and running. Two days later I was hit with the FBI moeypack virus and had to do a system restore and then ran Mallwarebytes to get rid of it. The system restore point was just before I installed CS6 and after the restore, CS6 was gone. I tried to reinstall CS6 and now the installer fails. I ran Adobe Support Advisor and it shows no problems. I ran Adobe creative suite cleaner tool chosing CS6 and it didn't help. Photoshop CS5 is still on my computer and it still runs OK. I am at a loss as to what to try next.

Bought CS5.5 through Adobe Education but still no CS6 upgrade

Has anyone else had the following problem:
Bought the student/teacher version of CS5.5 during the complimentary upgrade timeframe (April 13th or 14th) from Adobe.com. I have yet to reveive the CS6 upgrade email (now being June 1st) and there are less then 5 days left on the trial CS6. Numerous support cases and chats have simply responded that I am approved but wait for the email. I have just recently been advised after speaking with someone, that I haven't received the upgrade email because it is being blocked by identit-e despite the fact that the proof of enrolement was provided directly through adobe.com and my profile indicates that the student/teacher eligibility runs until October 2012. I was asked by the live person at Adobe to just email the proof to identit-e and that the upgrade email will then be sent. That was done and I still have not heard anything from identit-e and there is no way to check anything with them without a product code (which I do not have since it was a digital download). This is extremely frustrating and a poor way of doing business. I do not know when or if this will ever be resolved. There was never any intention to buy CS5.5 but for the complimentary offer that was made to get CS6 as well - we really would have just waited and bought CS6 when it was released were it not for the offer. Now nerarly a month after CS6 has shipped our trial version is about to expire and we will no longer be able to use CS6. I don't know what else can be done or whether others have worked through this strange experience?

This is the most bizarre business practice I have ever encountered. So now as of June 1, the free upgrade to CS6 is showing up under "My Orders" in Adobe.com, but there is no serial number and the download link leads to a page that says I have no downloads. I just got off the phone with customer service who said there is a "block" and that he would speak to another department to remove the block. After being on hold for a few minutes, he advised that the other department could not be reached as they were all taking calls so I wiould hear back in 24-48hours (business hours, meaning I will probably not hear back until at least Tuesday) advising me that the block is removed and that it would take a further 7 days before the download link became available. So now there is approximately 4 days left on the trial, I will get an email approx. 5 days from now advising that the block has been removed and then a further 7 days before I can access the serial number. Is this normal for Adobe? I have never encountered anything like this ever, from any organization, large or small. I certainly wish we never ordered CS5.5.

CS6 Upgrade Obtained; Time Limit To Install? Moving To Different PC A Little Later?

I just wanted to ask a few questions about my CS6 "technology guarantee" upgrade for my Student copy of CS5.5 (which I bought in May of this year).
I registered my CS5.5 serial number, but have not installed it. I applied for the CS6 upgrade, and CS6 is showing as availible in my "My Orders" on my account. So if I may ask
1) Has my serial number been fully transferred to CS6? As in, I have the DVD for CS5.5 but now do I effectively own CS6 and can download it now and in the future accordingly? In other words, is CS6 fully mine as if I bought it directly?
2)Is there a time limit for me to download or activate CS6? (There was a time limit if August 5th given to me with my pruchase for the end of claims, but have I now claimed it even if not downlaoding and installing?)
3)I am planning on buying a new computer, but unsure as to when. It may turn out that I will install CS6 on my current PC and end up a few weeks later needing to move it to my new PC. Woudl this cause any problems, given the "upgrade" status and the fact I would have installed for the first time shortly before ? (If that makes sense).

Dear Jeff. Thank you so much for the helpful, and quick, reply. It's great news I can have CS6 on my laptop and future desktop. Could I just clarify something and ask one more question? I would just like to be super clear.
Under my "Recent Orders" in my Adobe account, it says "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard - Upgrade, Windows, English, Download" "Quantity 1" and there is a different serial number (to CS 5.5) as you said. I have the "receipt" too, with "US $275.00" as the price and "US $0" as the "Grand Total".
1) So this therefore means my complimentary upgrade has been accepted, and basically I now own CS6 Standard as if I had bought the boxed version?
2) Also can I just check; I plan to backup the download once it's complete, but judt in case of some drive failure issue in the future, will I be able to redownload CS6 again? I guess I can just download the trial version and use my serial number to unlock it in this case?
