CS6, Windows 7, 64bit
I need to replace my older QUADRO FX 3800 graphics card.
I am trying to find a card that is "supported" in CS6 Premiere Pro, After effects and Photoshop. Only "supported" are activated by Adobe to provide the full capability of the applications listed.
When I review the "supported" graphics on the Adobe website I find very few choices common to all three applications.
In most cases the cards of an older design, are no longer being produced and either are not available or have very limited availability in the computer hardware market.
A newer high performance graphics card is the PNY NVDIA QUADRO K4000. I would like Adobe to test and add this card to the list of "supported" cards.
You can help! How can you help? You can take a few seconds and make request for "new features" on the Adobe website. It is fast an easy and if we all do it maybe we will get the use of an up to card for CS6.

Photoshop CS6 / Video Cards Question

I am purchasing a new computer and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on whether nVidia or AMD would be better for use with Photoshop CS6. In my previous computers, I've only ever had an integrated video card and they worked okay enough with Photoshop. But now I have the opportunity to purchase a computer with an nVidia/2 Gig Vram or an AMD Radeon/1 gig VRAM video card.
This is very generalized since I know so much depends on the cpu speed, ram, whether or not you have multiple hard drives, etcetera.
I've got a clear idea of what I want for all the other components of the computer, but I have no working knowledge of video cards.
I use Photoshop for photo editing and I also want to eventually use it for High Definition Photography editing.
FYI, I don't do any gaming.

I usually recommend ATI over nVidia, just because over the past few years as an OpenGL software developer myself I've seen better driver quality from AMD (ATI), but I don't know that past experience is an indication of current performance... Right now today ATI driver quality has slipped a little, while nVidia's has gotten better.
That said, my most recent purchase was a VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 7850 card. A 7750, at about half the price, probably would have done fine, but I figure the 2 GB onboard RAM makes the 7850 a bit more future-proof.
Something important to think about when choosing a video card is this: Watch how much electrical power they need. Video cards, because they have very fast processors, tend to require a lot of wattage and make a lot of heat, and many computers simply don't have the capacity to provide an extra hundred watts of power to a video card, nor exhaust the heat very well, so adding a power-hungry card could destabilize your system or cause heat problems. Something like the Radeon 7750 has a very low power draw. NVidia has some low power models as well, no doubt, but I'm not as familiar with the models.

Premier CS6 Video Cards

I need a list of certified video cards for Premier CS6. I have a GEFORCE 780Ti and it is not recognized by the program. I may need to use a different card. I am thinking of using a GTX Titan. Will it work well with CS 6. Please advise.

Which computer screen and video card are best for editing photo's with CS6?

I'm personally fond of a new Dell Ultrasharp U3014 monitor I got several months ago. I have a video card a couple of years old - an ATI Radeon HD 7850 with 2GB VRAM, and it drives the big 30" monitor as well as my two older 20" monitors turned up sideways perfectly, to make a Photoshop editing station that's potent. All the various Photoshop panels are on the sides, and the entire central monitor is available for the actual editing.
As far as computers go, I've yet to find a machine better for Photoshop work than a Dell Precision Workstation. Others will of course have their own opinions.
It's possible to find off-lease workstations, such as the Precision T5500 system shown above, being sold used on eBay by refurbishers. Depending on who you choose you might even get a Dell warranty (I did). Their newer T5600 line is current, which makes the just off cutting edge systems cheaper. You can score a good deal this way, but you need to educate yourself very well on the options before choosing a model with particular set of features. Another member on here (JJMack) got a good deal on a Precision T5600 refurbed from Dell direct. I hope he chimes in and describes his experience with his T5600.
Some things to think about:
SSD storage is greatly preferable over HDD storage, and is well worth the additional cost. Do not skimp here. Get more than you need. Consider building a RAID array of them.
More RAM is better, and much more is much better.
A good balance between individual core speed and core count is needed. Too much of one and not enough of the other isn't as good.
If you want multiple monitors, a single modern video card that can drive multiple monitors is essential; don't try to run Photoshop with multiple video cards.

CS6 recommended video cards?

Building a Photoshop machine.
Been referencing numerous websites droning on and on about CS6's new performance improvements.
Still hazy on which video cards, or perhaps which features, of video cards, ought to be included on the card to go in the new machine.
Planning to spend 200-$300.
Any advice here?

It seems it's NEVER possible to just say "get this model" because all of them have strengths and weaknesses.
I develop GPU-enhanced software (not Photoshop, but plug-ins for Photoshop). My experience has been that ATI's driver quality is higher than that of nVidia. I have to code more exceptions in my software for both nVidia and Intel than ATI models.
That said, of course "past results are no guarantee of future performance", and ATI seems to have been stumbling lately with their last few driver releases. Catalyst 12.2 (from this past March) seems to be the golden version to get.
If I were put on the spot to recommend a video card right now at the moment, I'd probably suggest the VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 7750 model. I have been using exclusively VisionTek brand cards myself and I've had ZERO problems with them. I don't personally have the model I mentioned (I have a 5670 in my main Photoshop workstation now myself, though I'm tempted by the new 7000 series), but I know someone who does. Keep in mind video cards have different power supply demands; the card I mentioned is a low current-draw model (the 7750 doesn't even require a separate power supply connector), and low current models are quieter and don't make as much heat.

Can you tell me if my video card is adequate for using the 3D feature in CS6 Extended? The 3D tools don't seem to work. I get the message below. Do I need an updated video card or driver? Let me know if you need more information. Thank You.

You need at least 512 MB of video ram to use 3D.
You go to Photoshop's Help Menu and select System Info. I copied and pasted my video card info and as you can see I don't have enough video ram for 3D and it's dimmed out. No driver update will help.

CS6 Premiere Pro video card error message

I do believe my CS6 programs WERE working, but... When I try to load Premiere Pro, I get the error message about not finding a video card. The suggestions and solutions (listed elsewhere on Adobe) have not worked: run as administrator, install latest drivers, etc.. I have a Dell Inspiron 560, Windows 7, and an integrated video of Intel GMA X4500. How can I get my Premiere Pro to load? Do I need to install a video card (if so, what are the recommendations--ATI, Nvidia, etc..). I started with CS5 and upgraded to CS6. Thank you.

Ask in the Premiere forum for specifics. also make sure to run all updates. The 4500 was only supported in one of the point updates.

How does Photoshop CS6 choose the video card for its Graphics Processor?

Running a Intel Mac on 10.74 - CS6
I have two video cards running three Dell Monitors.
The ATI 5770 (runs the 24") is on the 16 lane PCI slot and the older Nvidea 8800 GT (running two Dell 19") is on the 8 lane slot.
But photoshop chooses the slower card on the slower lane.
Any advise welcome to change this.

It's not really Adobe's fault.
The simple fact is that most of the software design that supports display processing is still mired in the days where a computer had one monitor. Making things worse is the fact that the GPU makers don't really have any incentive to make their hardware/software work in a system with other GPU makers' hardware. In a selfish sense, quite the opposite. Who's at fault when your ATI and nVidia cards don't work together?
Macs have just as many problems as PCs - possibly more, since Mac users don't have the luxury of mixing and matching driver versions.
Many modern video cards are made now to support sometimes up to 4 monitors.

Upgrading video card for adobe CS6

Hello I have a Mac pro part number FA356LL/A - it is currently using NVIDIA Geforce 7300GT
I am wondering if this can be upgraded to a more current card the system itself is working great till I installed Adobe CS6.
It still works fine but the redraw tends to stall and give weird artifacting at random times
I have 2 screens 24" EIZO main display for color
15 inc NEC for pallets and extra realestate
Any help on this matter woud be great

I am hoping that the video card is the problem, and I am going to replace this now as It has become completely unusable. I never know when the displays will go into a horizontal line frenzy and the only way out of it is to force the power button. Not cool

AE CS6 doesnt recognize my ATI Radeon HD 6850 video card GPU

As in the title, it keeps me saying GPU is not enabled while OpenGL 4.1 is supported. Any suggestions?

The video driver should be correctly updated, i launched just yesterday a quick AMD app to do that.
I dont get what screenshot you want, i dont have any OpenGL preferences in Video Card settings, but i do have put below the screenshot of AE OpenGL preferences, evenif the first part is in Italian.
