CS6 + Windows 8 + otf

planning to purchase new pc (windows 8 OS) for use with CS6.  will otf fonts work automatically?  if no, what do i do to make it work?

Yes, OTF fonts are generally supported on any contemporary operating system and in fact used to provide multi-language support within the OSs themselves already.

  • Use illustrator CS6 Windows in a  Mac ? I've got a pc and want to work on an imac, but is there no way to use my softwares adobe windows ?

    Hi.
    All is in the title.
    If anyone could answer me.
I've got a licence illustrator CS6 windows,  and It would sound me incredible, not to be possible use it on mac.
    Thanks a lot.
    Aurélien

    Thanks a lot Mylenium.
Another question, please : I still have a little doubt with terms (I'm french and my english is not perfect). If I request a platform swap for Illustrator CS6, the new platform product still will be a CS6 ? Because switch to the new version CC would be as if I hadn't yet bought a licence (a subscription would mean pay twice...).
    Thank you for your answer.

  • Problem resizing PS CS6 window in Mountain Lion

I recently migrated my data and software from a 27" iMac to a new 13" MacBook Air.  I found that my CS6 window is sized beyond the boundaries of the 13" screen.  I was able to drag the window sideways far enough to pull the right side within the 13" destop, but the bottom of the window is still below the bottom of my desktop and I cannot grab it or grab the corner to pull it up.
I imagine that resetting CS6 to original defaults would fix the problem, but I have lots of saved actions and other settings that I do not want to loose.
    Any ideas?

Clicking the green button in the upper left part of the CS6 app frame and/or doucument window…
Thank you for at least selecting an icon with a plus sign in it.  I'm often baffled by advice referencing just a green, red or amber/yellow button, as I haven't seen one of those obnoxious color candy buttons in years, since I use the Graphite look on my Mac.  I know many other folks do too.
I can't begin to understand how some other users go for the so-called "Blue" appearance that generates the colored buttons. I find them very distracting in Photoshop and feel they interfere with my perception of color in my images.
My point is just to politely and respectfully request that posters helping others refer to the buttons either by position or function rather than color, so one can immediately know which of the three buttons is meant.

When using the prodesign site you need to follow the Note: Very Important Instructions section verbatim in order for the download to work properly.  Those steps essentially set you up as signed in to the Adobe site so that the files can be downloaded.

  • Need help for school! Imported images suddenly pixelated (CS6, Windows)

    Hi guys,
Adobe InDesign CS6 Windows I'm a frequent user of InDesign, but I now suddenly am facing problems. Note: I use InDesign not only for print material, but also for creating PDF. I therefore do not necessarily need 300 dpi. Before: copy + paste from Photoshop or even web images into InDesign used to work. The images looked fine on screen and while printing. Now, when I import or copy + paste, all images look pixelated at 100%, high quality and overprint preview. It looks like InDesign is importing images 25% larger than their original size. If I resize the imported image to 75%, the image looks normal. 100% is always pixelated now! Did I mess up some sort op setting? I never had this problem before. Please help me, need this for school assignment!
    Thanks in advance,
    Justin

First of all, thank you for your reply. I just checked an example image and both are 72 dpi, in InDesign as well as in Photoshop. I even created a document for web in InDesign, using the 'web' & digital publishing option (which is 72 dpi) and placed the same image. At 100% pixelated, when resizing to 75% crisp. I don't know what to do..
The thing is.. I've never had this problem for years.. with importing images. Did I change settings or?
First one is Photoshop, second in InDesign (top left is import at 100%, bottom right is import resized to 75%). In case images are too small to see, full size: http://justinwust.com/photoshop.jpg & http://justinwust.com/indesign.jpg

I have Photoshop CS6, Windows 7, I have no entry at the accesscode. When i will write the code into the nummeric fields. I can write only numbers, but no letters. What can I do?

If you are talking about the serial number, as far as I know serial numbers are entirely numeric so there is no need to enter letters.  Maybe you are using the incorrect code.

  • (Photoshop CS6 Windows)UIが全体的に崩れている

    Photoshop CS6 の Windows 版を利用しています。
    UI が突然崩れて表示されるようになってしまいました。
    直前に行った操作は Windows Update ぐらいしか思い当たることがありません。
    Windows

  • AE CS6 Windows 8 it's progressively slow in rendering

    Hi.
I'm working with AE CS6, Windows 8, intel Core i7-2600, 8Gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (1 GB).
My problem is that I'm rendering a lot of comps in HDTV, the only two effects applied to each clip in are Selective Color and Keylight. When I start the queue, takes about 20 minutes to render one clip, then 1 hour for the second one, then 3 hours for the third one, then EIGHT HOURS for the fourth one. For comps of the same duration and effects (about to 4 minutes each comp).
If I stop the queue and restart my computer, render takes again 20 minutes, 1 hour, and so on.
I've try to clean system cache, copy files to an internal hard disk (before I was working with an USB hardisk), simplify the adresses. But I still don't know what to do.
I have to render close to 50 comps, if them takes about 8 hours, the render will finish never! I'm desperate.
THANKS A LOT, and sorry for my poor english.
Hope you have the answer or the solution...

What are your Memory & Multiprocessing settings?
See this page for information about memory and improving performance in After Effects: http://adobe.ly/dC0MdR
Make sure that you've installed the latest updates ( http://adobe.ly/lsrkmJ ). They fix a lot of problems, including some memory management issues.

  • Where to download a free trial of Photoshop CS6 windows? [was:Download]

Where to download a free trial of Photoshop CS6 windows?

    Try http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
Once you install Adobe software, it will always launch as a 30 day time limited trial version.
Once you enter a valid serial number (after you've purchased the software), the 30 day time limit is removed.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

  • CS6 Windows Installation

How do you install CS6 Windows with this ERROR: DW013: Unable to get root from inChildPath?

That's useless without some proper system info and the rest of the install logs. That aside, on a hunch I'd see you need to look at this and info linked from there:
Error "Exit 6" or "Exit 7"

  • Transfer CS6 Windows license over to a Mac

I have been a happy Adobe customer running CS3 through to CS6 on a window computer.  I refuse to be part of the new creative cloud and need to constantly pay monthly fees just to use the latest software.  I am quite happy with what CS6 gives me and meets my needs.
The problem however is that my Windows machine is on it's last legs and I don't want to buy another and get stuck with Windows 8.  I want to move over to a new iMac 27" unit, but I am a bit stuck with my Adobe CS6 license.
I know that in the past, well documented people cross platform upgrading from a windows version of CSx to the newer version of CSx on the other platform.  But there is no new version of CS7 coming out.  CS6 is it, and I own it on Windows.  Is there any migration path to exchange your license of CS6 windows to CS6 Mac??
I would prefer to run a native copy on the iMac rather than needing to mess around with Bootcamp or some virtural desktop to run windows on the mac just to get my Adobe CS6 to work.   Any help on if it's possible and who I should be contacting would be appreciated.

While I do prefer the Mac platform, Windows versions of software have had a better history of working with newer OSs. You can run a Windows virtual machine on the  Mac and keep the software running nearly forever on the Windows OS of your choice. If you switch to a Mac version of CS6, there is no guarantee that your CS 6 will work with the next version of the Mac OS.
I run Windows software on my Mac using Parallels. It works quite will as long you don’t need extreme performance. If you do, then I would use Boot Camp. I use Parallels to run the TCS 5 and run the CC software on my Mac simultaneously. If you are a heavy user of Photoshop or AE then Boot Camp is your better bet for speed. For your CS 6 software. Parallels is nice in that you can work with both PC and Mac software simultaneously and even copy and paste as needed.
BTW, the 27” iMac is a very nice machine. I can recommend it highly.

  • Illustrator cs6 windows 7 64 bit,

Illustrator cs6 windows 7 64 bit, When trying to move text the arrow automaticaly turns into the text tool and trying to move a vector object the arrow will not gather the object and when I finley get it gathered I have to move it with my arrows on my keyboard. what is going on?

    Nancy,
I take it you have all layers visible at the same time. The rendering was just an (obviously irrelevant) example of what might eat time (if you make a layer visible, things like complicated blends and live effects (Drop Shadows or whatever) may take a bit of time to appear).
With that ruled out, some description of the artwork may (still) be useful.

    Merci de ces liens ;
J’ai pris en compte l’aide en ligne ID, mais depuis mon entreprise, il ne m’a pas été possible de lire la vidéo… ☹
    Problème de pare-feu je suppose.
