Cs6 windows are pixelated

Does anyone know how to fix the cs6 program settings that are pixelated? For example, my tool bar icons are pixelated. The vector artwork in illustrator cs6 are have ragged edges. If anyone can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.

Yep, yucky Adobe graphics on Retinas will be a persistent issue till they get their act together and put out a compatible version.
And if you add the double whammy of running VISTA ( ) with as yet inadequate drivers, I'm surprised you're able to use it at all.

Need help for school! Imported images suddenly pixelated (CS6, Windows)

Adobe InDesign CS6 Windows I'm a frequent user of InDesign, but I now suddenly am facing problems. Note: I use InDesign not only for print material, but also for creating PDF. I therefore do not necessarily need 300 dpi. Before: copy + paste from Photoshop or even web images into InDesign used to work. The images looked fine on screen and while printing. Now, when I import or copy + paste, all images look pixelated at 100%, high quality and overprint preview. It looks like InDesign is importing images 25% larger than their original size. If I resize the imported image to 75%, the image looks normal. 100% is always pixelated now! Did I mess up some sort op setting? I never had this problem before. Please help me, need this for school assignment!

First of all, thank you for your reply. I just checked an example image and both are 72 dpi, in InDesign as well as in Photoshop. I even created a document for web in InDesign, using the 'web' & digital publishing option (which is 72 dpi) and placed the same image. At 100% pixelated, when resizing to 75% crisp. I don't know what to do..
The thing is.. I've never had this problem for years.. with importing images. Did I change settings or?

and secondly and I know this from experience, ( but on 32 bit ) is it loaded already as in sat in task manager, but not actually get at able, killing the processes cures it or a reboot of course

My Photoshop CS6 Preferences are frequently gone (lost) [Windows 7]

My Photoshop CS6 preferences are frequently deleted and I have to go thru the entire preferences menu to set them again.
What causes the pereferenes to disappear? I am not doing any particular clean up. Is it possible to save the preferences in a file and relaod so I would not have to go thru the menu options?

You arrange everything the way you like it, and as you go along you change settings, move windows, etc. When you quit Photoshop, it then saves the state of all these things in the preferences file. If you routinely shutdown your computer without quitting Photoshop, it may not get the chance to save the preferences file before everything shuts down. Always quit Photoshop before shutting down. (Really, you should be quitting all software before shutting down.) If it crashes a lot, that may also mean your preferences aren't saved and restored the next time you start Photoshop, but the problem often lies in bad habits. If it's not due to premature shutdowns, or crashes, then my last guess would be permissions issues, which would mean running some maintenance to fix them.

PS CS6 files are now inflated by 1.4 MB

I'm using PS CS6 (13.0.1) 64 bit with Windows 7. I noticed recently that new files created in PS are inflated by almost 1.4 MB. For Example:
I Go to File> New> Width 100 pixels, Height 100 pixels, RGB, 8 bit, Color Profile sRGB
It tells me the 'Image Size' is 29.3 KB. Click OK and save the file as a JPEG or TIFF and the files size is slightly over 1.4 MB. I checked the file for metadata in Bridge, but don't see anything that could account for the additional 1.4 MB. I opened a JPEG image with XnView and saved the file with 'Keep IPTC Data' unchecked and the file size dropped to 12 KB. On examining the metadata in Bridge or EXIF Tool GUI there are no IPTC data entries in the original PS file.
What's interesting is if I Import the same 1.4 MB+ file into Lightroom 4.4 and Export it full-size the file size also drops to 16 KB. This indicates to me that there is 1.4 MB of data being added to 'New Files' created inside PS that is not seen or used by Lightroom 4.4.
I realize I can use 'Save For Web' to reduce the file size by removing metadata, but I'd like to identify what is causing the the additional 1.4 MB.
I'm inserting a 1.4 MB+ 100x100 pixel JPEG file here, but not sure if the orignal metadata or file-size will be retained:

How did you generate it and save it?   Did you just append the .jpg extension to its name?

My 27 inch imac has just started acting weird, the thumbnail images and folder on the desktop have disappeared although the titles are still visible. When I open a programme the programme windows are all black and the drop down menus just show random

When I tried to open the web browser the browser flashed black and white at start up, then all the applications when i open a new window are completely black, I am unable to view the drop down menus as the come out as random pixels. This happens to all new applications i have been able to open. The document window opens as plain white but if you click on it it opens a document even though you cant see any thumb nails. Some of the documents are open as normal images/files. Having been a mac user for 10 years i have never seen anything like this before, any ideas or suggestions

I have started running a virus check.
There are no viruses for OSX. Uninstall the software, repair permissions and restart your computer. Especially if it's Norton's. It's known to cause problems.

Some files and images I open in the Photoshop window look pixelated or choppy, but when I open in Acrobat or viewer they look fine. This just started about two weeks ago. I reset my settings, and all of the the help topics come up for blurry images/re-sizing. I have had this problem with .tiff, jpg, and pdf files.

That black degradation in the background at the top looks like an old ATI driver bug where if for a given pixel the red channel reaches zero all three colors of the pixel would go black. I think that was a couple of years ago we were seeing that.
See if AMD has released newer drivers for your FirePro card.

If you are talking about the serial number, as far as I know serial numbers are entirely numeric so there is no need to enter letters. Maybe you are using the incorrect code.

Icons in X windows are messed up

Hallo alltogether,
I've updated my X.org to 6.8.2 an now I've the problem the my Icons under X windows are messed up. Just an example:
When I'm using Thunderbird and than I try to move a message from the Inbox to an another folder while dragging on the message a small icon appears looking like a small piece of paper. The PROBLEM is that the space AROUND this small Icon, which is normaly transparent, is full of randomly colorized pixels.

I've tried to solve this problem by downgrading to X.org 6.8.1 but it didn't help (It seems that this problem doesn't depend on X.org...). Does anybody has a suggestion how to solve this problem, cause this icons are looking really bad :-(

AE CS6 Windows 8 it's progressively slow in rendering

Hi.
I'm working with AE CS6, Windows 8, intel Core i7-2600, 8Gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (1 GB).
My problem is that I'm rendering a lot of comps in HDTV, the only two effects applied to each clip in are Selective Color and Keylight. When I start the queue, takes about 20 minutes to render one clip, then 1 hour for the second one, then 3 hours for the third one, then EIGHT HOURS for the fourth one. For comps of the same duration and effects (about to 4 minutes each comp).
If I stop the queue and restart my computer, render takes again 20 minutes, 1 hour, and so on.
I've try to clean system cache, copy files to an internal hard disk (before I was working with an USB hardisk), simplify the adresses. But I still don't know what to do.
I have to render close to 50 comps, if them takes about 8 hours, the render will finish never! I'm desperate.

My photos are pixelated when I put them into another new document such as a photo collage. I am trying to put a regular 8x11 image into a 4x6 photo collage of two other images. All come out blurry.

I need help! I am trying to put several photos that are large size 8x11 into a small 4x6 new document photo collage. When I do my images are blurred or pixelated. Even my fonts in the new document are pixelated and my photshop brushes as well. I am a novice so I may be doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the dinosaur PSE2 but the method should be the same in 11.
Image > Resize > Image Size (the path to Image Size might be different in 11). This brings up the window:
The DPI is in the Resolution box. Enter the new value. Check the Constrain Proportions and Resample Image boxes and click OK.

Transfer CS6 Windows license over to a Mac

I have been a happy Adobe customer running CS3 through to CS6 on a window computer. I refuse to be part of the new creative cloud and need to constantly pay monthly fees just to use the latest software. I am quite happy with what CS6 gives me and meets my needs.
The problem however is that my Windows machine is on it's last legs and I don't want to buy another and get stuck with Windows 8. I want to move over to a new iMac 27" unit, but I am a bit stuck with my Adobe CS6 license.
I know that in the past, well documented people cross platform upgrading from a windows version of CSx to the newer version of CSx on the other platform. But there is no new version of CS7 coming out. CS6 is it, and I own it on Windows. Is there any migration path to exchange your license of CS6 windows to CS6 Mac??
I would prefer to run a native copy on the iMac rather than needing to mess around with Bootcamp or some virtural desktop to run windows on the mac just to get my Adobe CS6 to work. Any help on if it's possible and who I should be contacting would be appreciated.

While I do prefer the Mac platform, Windows versions of software have had a better history of working with newer OSs. You can run a Windows virtual machine on the Mac and keep the software running nearly forever on the Windows OS of your choice. If you switch to a Mac version of CS6, there is no guarantee that your CS 6 will work with the next version of the Mac OS.
I run Windows software on my Mac using Parallels. It works quite will as long you don’t need extreme performance. If you do, then I would use Boot Camp. I use Parallels to run the TCS 5 and run the CC software on my Mac simultaneously. If you are a heavy user of Photoshop or AE then Boot Camp is your better bet for speed. For your CS 6 software. Parallels is nice in that you can work with both PC and Mac software simultaneously and even copy and paste as needed.
BTW, the 27” iMac is a very nice machine. I can recommend it highly.

Windows 10: Open Windows Are Resized When The Lid Is Closed

I have just done the free Windows 10 Pro upgrade. Everything seems to be working fine; except for this issue. Every time I simply close and re-open the laptop lid, the open windows are resized. Most windows get restored to where they started, yet they seem to ALL have been resized and then sized to their previous location. You can tell because minimizing / restoring windows does not remember the actual last size that you used. But some windows DO NOT get resized back where I left them. Chrome in partiular becomes crazy. Sometimes the window becomes maximized; and other times it gets sized to a smaller rectangle at the top left of the screen. Minor update: I performed another Windows 10 reset: I reset the operating system, keeping User Files. So the system got re-installed. I ran Windows Update until all updates came down. I also ran the Lenovo System Update and installed all updates. Specifically, at this point, I haven't gone looking for additional drivers, such as the graphics drivers --- and on this dual-graphics, there is no control panel for the high performance NVIDIA GPU ... I don't know if that is making any difference. The bug DOES persist; but behaves marginally different at this point ... at least, the open Chrome window no longer resizes; and the Task Manager doesn't move; but other things still jump around, and the open Control Panel window becomes duplicated. Again, this is just by closing and re-opening the laptop lid. The Lid-Closed behavior is set to "Do Nothing"; and the Intel Graphics is set to High Performacen mode. ... So I don't know if they do, but I would not understand why the graphics would switch when the lid closes: they still might. I have another video that captures the behavior. Again: there is no Lid-Closed action, and just closing and re-opening the lid causes the resolution to switch back and forth. YouTube: https://youtu.be/Qapt3ZyOVE4 ... I would like to see this cured, since it is truly a very annoying bug! Your work becomes disrupted simply from closing the lid.

In iTunes on my windows 7 PC, the Edit/Preferences dropdown window,some of the tab windows are not large enough to see all options that are available. The borders of the window cannot be draged larger. As a result, I can not uncheck or check some box's.

I have lownloaded the latest version of iTunes and this is still an issue. HELP.
