CS6 won't install

I've downloaded Photoshop CS6 Windows three times and it won't install. I keep getting the error message "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." Downloaded Support Advisor and it finds no problem. Trying to install on Windows 7-64 with 8 GB RAM. Extracted three different downloads three times - same problem each time.

Could not install with Windows XP-Pro and CS3 and CS5 currently installed. Installation went through much of the installation and failed before completion. First time the Support Advisor mentioned lots of stuff about CS3 so I removed CS3 and reinstalled. This failed again and had no idea what the Support Advisor was now telling me. Although bridge.exe was created, photoshop.exe was not. --dan

  • Indesign CS6 won't install on Windows 7 64bit via GPO

    Good afternoon,
I created a installation of Indesign CS6 with application manager enterprise 3 to deploy to computers via the active directory.
It installs correctly without issue to Windows XP x86 machines however won't install to Windows 7 x64 machines.
When the computers starts it trys to install but fails and proceeds to the login screen.  The following information is left in the Windows event log.
Has anyone else had this problem and more importantly know how to solve it?

    Hi Abhijit,
I am able to install InDesign CS6 manually on the machines from the CD/DVD however when trying to install it via GPO or running the msi using the msi exec commands it doesn't install and leaves the above errors in the event log.
The installation was made using the same CD/DVD and the installation works on the Windows XP clients and software other than InDesign CS6 will install to the Win 7 64-bit machines via GPO.
    Cheers,

  • PP CS6 won't install - lost Encore

I'm trying to reinstall Premiere Pro CS6, but I keep hitting a wall.  I had installed it once before in order to get Encore on this system, then uninstalled PP CS6 only at that time.  The other day, I tried to install the CS6 "Functional Content" for Premiere and Encore, such as the title templates and styles, into PP CC 2014.  After downloading the files, the setup wouldn't install the files, I think because PP CS6 was not on this computer, so I tried to install just PP CS6.  That failed, so I thought I would uninstall Encore and just start from scratch with PP CS6.  After uninstalling, I went to the Creative Cloud app, down to the bottom of the list and selected Previous Versions, then Premiere Pro CS6.  The install appeared to go fine until it hit about 47%, then it froze.  It stayed that way a whole day with no change.  So, next I tried going directly to the Adobe site to download the install files.  I got those, ran them per the instructions, and again hit a wall.  This time, it went to about 13% on the install process, and froze up while installing AdobeHelp.  So, I decided to give the CC app another chance, and again I got a freeze at 47%.  This time, I went to the Task Manager, and it said that it was installing the AdobeHelp files when it froze.
So, here's my question.  Are there some files someplace that are keeping me from installing PP CS6?  Is there something I can delete that will allow the install to continue past the AdobeHelp install?  I've already tried a chat with Adobe Support 3 times and no luck.  Maybe someone in the Community has a suggestion...

You don't ever say that you used the cleaner as part of your uninstalls. Do you get uninstall options for any of the programs you tried to install unsuccessfully. If so, uninstall. Run the cleaner and restart at least twice. Sign out of your creative cloud account.
Now see if you have the option to install PR CS6 and give it a try.

  • CS6 won't install on Mac OS 10.9.5, can anyone help?

Hi, I have downloaded CS6 (academic package) and tried to install, but I got this error message:
    "Installer cannot be initialized".
Adobe Support Advisor (which I had to download from another source, as it's been discontinued) failed to identify the problem. I seem to have an intact version of CS6.
I did download Creative Cloud for a month (in the spring), but decided against subscribing, and deleted everything before the end of the trial month. Have tested with Adobe CS Cleaner Tool and checked that my version of Flash is current.
I have just paid for the academic version of CS6, have a serial number and would very much like to be able to use the programs!
    Thanks for your help.

Jeff, there was nothing under logs/Adobe/installers. Instead, I had to scroll through "All reports" and find the log there. Under Adobe, I only found Reader updater and the CC Cleaner protocoll:
The protocoll for the installation attempt looks like this:

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't install my CS6 trial.

My OS is Windows 7. I downloaded Adobe Downloader Assistant, downloaded CS6, and clicked on the 'setup' file, and it gave me an error mesagge saying that there was a prerelease/other version of CS6 interferring, and I had to uninstall it before I could install the package. I manually deleted said version, hoping that it would solve this problem, but no matter what I did, it kept giving me that message.
I even tried to use Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool (And, for some odd reason, it kept asking me to insert a CD), but it still gives me the same message. What did I do wrong?

  • CS6 won't install Installer won't initialize

Brand new Windows 7 professional Toshiba lap top.  Installed fine when I took it out of the box.
Had an error booting up the machine a couple days later and had to restore to a previous back up point.  This made all installed programs, including InCopy CS6, MS Office go away.
Could not re-install any of the programs.  Ran MS Fix It program to delete Office and was able to re-install just fine.  It does not show Adobe CS6 or InCopy as an option to delete using the fix it tool.  After removing Office it says the registry is fine.
But now when I try to install CS6 InCopy I get an error that says the "Installer Failed to Initialize" and to download a diagnostic tool that no longer exists.
where do I go from here?

uninstall all cs6 programs (if there are any),
clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6)
    then reinstall.

  • I manually uninstalled Photoshop CS6 Beta, and now Photoshop CS6 won't install.

Before I read the FAQ on how to properly uninstall the Photoshop CS6 Beta, I uninstalled it manually (by dragging it into the Trash on Mac OS X), and now when installing the CS6 Master Collection, Photoshop appears with an [!] that says "a conflicting or prerelease version of Photoshop CS6 is present on this computer. This must be removed before the installation can continue." I've tried deleting every file I can find with "Photoshop" in it, but to no prevail. What can I do?

    for the other uninstaller.
