CS6 Won't run on my MAC

Could 32 Bit color on my Mac prevent it from running CS6 and if so, what can I do about it?

The message says that CS6 is not supported on this type of Mac.
Is this Hardware overview enough information?

  • AE CS6 won't run after the Mavericks 10.9.3 update

My AE CS6 won't run after the Mavericks 10.9.3 update the other day. I was prompted that the current version of my AE was 11.0, so I searched and found the seemingly most up-to-date here: Adobe - After Effects : For Macintosh : Adobe After Effects CS6 11.0.4 Update : Thank You
My question is this: since I'm new to Mac, should I download the update and install it to my existing instance of AE and it will allow AE CS6 to run as normal? And the way to install the update is simply to double-click the .dmg?
    Thanks!

Instructions for installing the update are on the download page here:

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Your bookmarks would not have been erased, it will use your existing bookmarks when you install 3.6.16
There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • What windows applications won't run on a mac?

I'm about to go from PC to Mac and would like to get an understanding of what common applications won't run on a Mac.  I'm not interested in things like MS Office and such which I know have Apple version, but I'm interested in Adobe Acrobat, Flash Player, Others such as Garmin, eBay Turbo Lister, Nikon View, etc.  Seems to me I've heard that Flash files won't work on Apple Products.  Are there apps that will allow some of these to run?
I don't think I have too many to worry about but I'd appreciate hearing what challenges others have had and what to expect in general.

All Office and Adobe products available on both platforms. Flash works fine on a Mac, just not on iDevices like iPads or iPhones.
Others that you've listed just find out if the developers have a Mac version. Do some research.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't run, problem with Application Manager

I've now got three Adobo Photoshop CS products on my MacBook Pro, the latest is CS6 which won't run.
I own Photoshop CS3, I just happen to install the CS5.x suite today, which runs during the trial period (30 day, today is day #1).
I then see that PSCS6 is out so I install that and get an error dialog.
    Adobe Photoshop CS6
Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.
Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.
I go to that URL, run the new application manager and get that same dialog box when I try to run CS6.
When I did the CS6b install it asked for my Adobe ID/password and I entered that and the install completed. So I'm not sure what's going on.

Hi, Using OSX Lion...was getting the same AAM errors.
I hope my "fix" is of help:
During one installation attempt I noticed that it was using an Adobe Application Manager here:
    ~User/Applications/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
It is version 6.0.236.0 and the installer deletes it after the install. The download page only has version 2.
So during my last install attempt, I grabbed a copy of that OOBE directory -- to catch the support files -- before deletion.
Did not work in user Applications folder, but when I copied it in the location of AAM 2, it works.
The full location is as follows (I renamed the original OOBE folder as a back-up):
    HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
Authorization works, and software update seems to...however, uninstall can't use this method.

  • Audition CS6 won't run anymore

My version of CS6 used to run perfectly until I used Malwarebytes, which removed amtlib.dll
Now it won't run at all, even though I've put amtlib.dll back. I keep on getting the 0xc000007b error, and I can't uninstall the program at all. What do I do to fix this problem? It's extremely frustrating. Nothing I have done has fixed this, and I've tried many times to remove it, such as command prompt, the windows uninstaller (it doesn't show up), and multiple programs such as ccleaner.

If Ryclark's suggestion still doesn't work I would strongly recommend finding and downloading the free version of Revo Uninstaller, from Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall probl… The Pro version can be used for 30 days as a trial; speaking personally I think it's well worth the money!  The Portable version is especially useful to keep on a pen drive; you can then use it on any computer.
I've needed to use it on more than one occasion when faced with similar problems (a program that is now "corrupted" but cannot be uninstalled by any standard method).  If Audition is not listed as installed when you run Revo, use the Forced Uninstall mode and simply point it to the folder where AA currently is.
One word of caution: Revo Pro creates a full back of your registry etc., before beginning the uninstall routine.  I don't think the free version does, so do create a System restore point before running it.

  • Illustrator CS6 won't run. Entry Point Not Found

Cannot get Illustrator CS6 to run. All othe CS6 components are running fine.
Every time I try to start Illustrator I get error message:
    The procedure entry point
?AcquireVarient@ImageInterface@drawbot@dvaui@@QEBA?BV?intrusive_ptr@UImageInterface@drawbo t@dvaui@@@boost@@V?rational@J@5@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library dvaui.dll.
This is on a Window 7 Pro PC. CS5 previously ran fine, but computer was rebuilt after a harddrive crash then loaded with CS6 and this problem began. CS6 installation on laptop works fine, so downloaded files are OK.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall twice, but always the same result.

Windows said I had the latest drivers, but ATI (AMD) website had auto-scan software that loaded a newer version. (Was ver 8.x is now 9.0) However, there was no change. I have a Tech Support case with Adobe being escalated now.
Since it was working before, I am worndering about using older drivers. This PC has a V7800 workstation graphics card, so there are special CAD-certified drivers available. Maybe I need to rollback to one of those versions instead of the latest and greatest.
I also found that the dvaui.dll file in the Illustrator directory is a different size on the laptop compared to the workstation. I could move the file, but touching dll's is scary stuff.

  • PS CS6 Installation won't run on my mac

Adobe Download Assistant will Download PS CS6 Trial but when I go to Install the program will not run. Also Will not show product on My Adobe.

First when you try to install do you receive any error messages?  You stated when you try opening the install folder nothing happens.  Are you just opening a folder or are you double clicking on an installer?
Finally you mentioned not receiving an activation code from Adobe.  Did you purchase the Student and Teacher Edition of the software?  If so have you submitted your proof of eligibility?

  • Trial premiere pro cs6 won't run anymore

Hello, I downloaded a trial for premiere pro cs6 yesterday and it worked great. But today, it wouldn't run anymore. I got the message that the program 'could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again'. I totaly didn't get it, but i restarted my laptop and then it worked. But an hour later, after closing the program, i wanted to open it again and i got the same message. This time, it didn't run after restarting.
Can someone please tell me what to do? How do i 'update my video display drivers'...? And how come i have to do this all of a sudden? I have a brand new laptop and i worked with premiere pro cs5 before.

    >How do i 'update my video display drivers'...?
You go to the vendor web site (nVidia or ATI or ???) and check updates for your brand/model

  • AI CS6 won't run start

I've downloaded and installed AI CS6 on my Windows Vista machine using the App Manager (Cloud). The exe file starts, then closes without opening the software. I don't receive any error messages. Any suggestions?

Adobe doesn't officially supported Vista, but I can run it. I downloaded the 30 day test version of CS6 right after my problem  and that runs fine on my computer. I got an Adobe Cloud membership yesterday and the version downloaded from the Cloud (using Adobe Application Manager)won't open on my computer. I tried again through the Cloud to download a different software, too (InDesign), and it does the same thing: I click on the exe, it shows up in my processes window, then disappears again without having opened anything. I never get any error messages for either software. Has anyone else using the Cloud had similar problems?

  • IMVU Won't Run on my Mac

I recently (yesterday) got a second-hand Mac desktop from my mother. I am pretty lost, considering I’ve been a PC user for years; I haven’t used a Mac since middle school or earlier. I’m also not that tech-savvy to begin with, so please forgive my complete & total ignorance in this.
My biggest issue is that I am an avid IMVU (Instant Messaging Virtual Universe), and so the first thing I did was download it. But when I tried to run it, I got a message reading “You cannot use the application “IMVU” with this version of Mac OS X.” However, according to the IMVU FAQs, the only requirements are, “Individuals must have a personal computer (PC or Mac) and broadband access to use IMVU.” I did find a post on the IMVU forums saying that IMVU had updated their minimum system requirements, though. It says the requirements for Macs as of May 27th, 2011 are:
    2 GB RAM
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    Intel GMA 950 video card
It took me only a bit of Googling to figure out that I needed to click on the Apple logo, then on “About this Mac.” This is what I got:
    Mac OS X
    Version 10.5.2
Processor            2 GH Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory            1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Startup Disk            Macintosh HD
As far I can figure out, that means I have the “Intel Core 2 Duo,” but not the “2 GB RAM,” and I can’t figure out about the video card one way or the other.
I also found a topic that seems similar on here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1425687?start=0&tstart=0
I tried a couple of the suggestions, but it was very slow going, like working through a high school math problem in 5th grade. (As I mentioned, I am basically computer illiterate.) Nothing I tried worked, and before I go spending another 3+ hours trying the rest, I guess I’d just like to know: is it even possible to run IMVU on this computer? Is there anything I can do or anything I can purchase to make it possible?
Also: I found a topic on here with another user trying to run IMVU on a Mac, and the answer given read, “If your absolutely most importat issue is gaming, then you're probably better off with a PC.” And another person complained that they were able to download it, but it lags like mad. Is this true? Should I just stop trying to run IMVU with this computer?
Please help, and thanks in advance for your time!

  • Firefox won't run on my Mac

Firefox suddenly quit working my Mac. I uninstalled it and installed the latest version but still have the same problem. When I open it, a new window pops up but a page never loads and then it locks up. Every time.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Illustrator CS6 won't run without Java SE 6 runtime?

I've seen a few threads relating to this but none seem to solve the issue for me. Having updated my iMac and running Yosemite all my CS6 apps run fine apart from Illustrator, where I'm getting the dreaded install legacy Java SE 6 message. I know I can install Java but I REALLY would rather not install such an outdated piece of software that I don't need and that has more than a few security issues if there is any alternative. I tried removing some files from the file formats folder within plugins which some have suggested gets around the Java requirement but without success. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is not a Yosemite issue at all.... its merely a Illustrator requiring Java to run issue.... that's the case regardless of the version of OS. I would just be interested to know if CC illustrator relies on Java to run as well? The gentle nudge comment refers to the fact that Adobe still sell CS6 as the "owned" software option and as such its still current if you wish to choose that route.... If its possible I would have thought it would be helpful to update illustrator so that it is no longer reliant on such an outdated 3-party bit of software to run? But maybe its not a simple fix or Adobe aren't particularly interested in updating it.
