CSCuc72466 - Spine Control Bus fail in both active and standby - 2

Hello,
we have running Version 5.2.(7) on "Nexus7000 C7010 (10 Slot) Chassis with 2 "Supervisor module-1X" N7K-SUP1
our system is affected by this bug today.
mery cristmas and happy new year!

Spine Control Bus fail in both active and standby
CSCuc72466
-->
Description
Symptom:
SpineControlBus diagnostic test failure on active and/or standby supervisor.
Conditions:
This happens when active and standby supervisors run the Spine test at the same time.
Workaround:
Configure the following for the module in question (only one SUP, even if both have the error):
NOTE: Test 11 is for Sup1, Test 10 is for Sup2
N7K(config)# no diagnostic monitor module 5 test 11
N7K(config)# diagnostic clear result module 5 test 11
N7K(config)# diagnostic monitor interval module 5 test 11 hour 0 min 0 second 31
N7K(config)# diagnostic monitor module 5 test 11
N7K(config)# diagnostic start module 5 test 11
This workaround will decrease the possibility of this condition occurring but does not guarantee that the diagnostic failure will never be encountered. For that the customer needs to upgrade to the proper code with this fix.

  • Sync config between active and standby CSM

    Is there a way to sync config between active and standby CSMs? Just as one that in CSS.
    How about two SSL Service module in two different 6500 chassis?
    Thanks.

    HI,
    there is right now no command to commit redundancy between two CSM-Modules. Maybe in the future there will be one. Okay in regards of sync the only way is to check for redundancy is the show mod csm x ft command. But be aware that some slight differences like a real not being in service are sometimes not recognized.
    In regards of the SSLModule there is no way as far as I know to sync them. This won't be present in the future in my opinion as there are certificates which require a password or something like that and one won't be able to do redundncy without those passwords. So In my opinion no way to sync two SSL-Module because of security issues.
    Kind regards,
    Joerg

  • Goldengate between active and standby database server

    Hi:
    I want to make goldengate connection between active and standby database servers (bidirectional). is it possible?
    if yes what steps is required rather than active-active connection.
    PLease help!!!
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    What do you mean by "standby" server? If you are referring to a Data Guard standby, how would bidirectional work? That's why one is primary, the other is standby.
    If you are doing A-A, your "standby" is just another master in the N-way master architecture, so you already have a bi-di setup, right? Are you looking to replace Streams with GG?

  • Configure active and standby mac address in failover

    Hi guys,
    I just have a doubt that, if I configure the active and standby mac address in failover, does it will cause any downtime?
    As I planning to configure the active and standby mac addresses in failover during production time and not wish that it will bring any downtime to me.
    Besides that, just need some guideline that do I need to put all the interfaces' mac addresses in failover?
    failover mac address GigabitEthernet0/0 0022.90fe.2000 0022.90fe.2001
    failover mac address GigabitEthernet0/1 0022.90fe.3000 0022.90fe.3001
    failover mac address GigabitEthernet0/2 0022.90fe.4000 0022.90fe.4001
    failover mac address GigabitEthernet0/3 0022.90fe.5000 0022.90fe.5001

    Hi Marius,
    Seem like set the failover MAC address was not working for me.
    Last friday I was tested the failover MAC address.
    TEST 1
    1, Power off primary ASA and secondary ASA work as active.
    2, 2821 router able to learn the correct arp entries.
    TEST 2
    1, Power on primary ASA and failover from secondary to primary.
    2, 2821 router able to learn the correct arp entries from ASA.
    3, Set failover MAC address, power off primary ASA and secondary ASA be active.
    4, 2821 router unable to learn the correct arp entries.
    TEST 3
    1, Removed failover MAC address from secondary ASA.
    2, 2821 router still unable to learn the correct arp entries from ASA.
    3, Power up primary ASA and secondary ASA still in active.
    4, 2821 router still unable to learn the correct arp entries from ASA.
    5, Reboot 2821 router and it able to learn the arp entries from ASA.
    I am not sure this issue from router or from the ASA. But I guess I will try to upgrade the router in term of software and hardware.

  • ACE - probes sent from both active & hot standby?

    Hi all
    Can see that for a particular context, probes attached to a serverfarm are being sent from both the active & the standby ACE modules.
    I had the presumption that only the active module would be sending probes.
    Are probes being sent from both modules expected behaviour?

    Hi,
    Yes that is the expected behavior. When the failover happens LB should have the status of the server's under serverfarm for it to forward the traffic so both LB's probe the servers.

  • Trying to install latest iTunes 11.1. It fails on both Chrome and Firefox. I need it as ios7 not compatible with IE. . . . Any ideas how to resolve please.

    I need to install iTunes 11.1 on laptop so my iPad is recognised when connected to it.
    Internet Explorer 8 is no longer an option so I have added both Chrome and Firefox to try to download iTunes. The download is almost complete when I get a message ' the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavoidable'
    Can anyone assist using simple layman' slang usage.
    Prior to ios7 I had no problems at all.
    Thanks, Neil

    Temporarily turn off ALL of your antispyware/antivirus software and try it again.

  • Video playback very slow/failing with both iGPU and dGPU enabled simultaneously

    Until a couple of months ago, my PC was running with an i5 760 and my current Radeon HD 7850 on Premiere Elements 11 just fine - playback was smooth and I could edit my videos just fine.
    However, recently I installed a new CPU and motherboard - an i7 4770K. The key feature here is that it has an integrated GPU (hence referred to as "iGPU") which can run in tandem with my current dGPU (discrete GPU, the HD 7850) by having encoding jobs such as rendering videos and transcoding sent to the iGPU in a feature called Quick Sync. In order to utilise this, I had to bind a virtual monitor to my motherboard's VGA port (as according to this post made by vaesauce on the OBS forums), and for all related applications it worked perfectly (HandBrake transcodes really quickly, and I can stream with OBS with negligible performance overhead). Except one - Premiere Elements 11.
    When I booted up Premiere Elements 11 to edit a short clip yesterday, I was greeted with a screen that informed me I had incompatible drivers. I went and checked my video drivers for both of my GPUs - both up to date - reinstalled them and rebooted. Tried once again, same issue. Going on to try and edit just resulted in audio playback, and a complete failure of video playback. I found the solution was to disable my iGPU in device manager, then it works fine.
    Now, here is my question - how can I have both the dGPU and iGPU enabled and still be able to edit videos with Premiere Elements 11? While it does work in this fashion, the constant going into device manager before and after editing a video is very annoying (also, I'm sure PrEl 11 could itself benefit from the QuickSync!)

    Don't disable the Intel GPU. Causes more problems then it fixes. Here's your solution believe it or not. Go to download.com and find the K-Lite Codec Pack_Full and install. It seems that the new updates have been messing peoples system's ability to read Codecs. This fixed my problem and I've been searching all day every day for over a week now.

  • Since upgrading to ver 12 from 9.01 It takes between 15-30 minutes to startup then anything I click just has the spinning wheel ie wait. Both Ie and Chrome work

    I had no issues with Ver 9.01 but since upgrading to Ver 12 it takes forever to startup but is unusable when it finally comes up. Any ideas why and how do I fix it. IE 9 and Chrome have no issues.

    Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
    A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
    Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
    Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].
    Update all your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): [http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/].
    Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

  • Control iTunes library from both MB and iPhone

    Hi Dears,
    Couldn't find a direct answer to the following question:
    I have a MacBook and an iPhone. Have some music purchased in iTunes Store and some from an external source directly loaded from MB to the phone. Currently manual sync is set up.
    Usually I buy or load full albums and then remove songs I don't like. Usually I do such "cleaning" on the go in the iPhone.
    If I setup automatic sync I can reach the case when I remove songs in iTunes library and they are removed from the synced devices.
    The question is whether vice versa the songs I've removed on my iPhone could be automatically removed from my iTunes library?
    (i.e. I want to reach one library managed from different devices).
    Please advise
    Thanks,
    Anton

    The phone syncs to the computer, not the other way around.  Transferring purchases is a syncing option but does not delete items on the computer if they are not on the phone:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
    You can try doing something with playlists,  making a smart playlist with things that are not in a transferred playlist, then delete everything in the smart playlist, but you're really trying to do it all reverse from the way it is intended to be done:

  • Handoff - Failed to continue activity

    I can access my MacBookPro on either of my iPads through Handoff. When running a webpage, the site appears on whichever device is asking for it. However when I'm in Mail with an open Draft of an email, I get an error message on my iPad when trying to hand it off from my computer. The error message is "Failed to continue activity" and underneath "Connection lost".
    Of course everything is on Bluetooth and both devices are right next to each other with nothing between them. This is identical behavior for the both an iPad Mini and an iPad Air.
    Any thoughts?
    MacBookPro Retina, Mid 2012, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB memory; iPad Air, 64GB; iPad Mini, 64GB

    When the above behavior was observed on my iPads, a Draft email would open under the error message but not load. I was then asked to Save or Cancel when I wanted to close it. If I hit Cancel, it returned to the open draft. The only way to close the window was to hit Save, which I did.
    I had the original email draft open in Mail on my MacBook Pro. At one point I had to close it and hit Save. I just returned to my Draft folder to continue writing that email and what did I find but an blank email. The subject is there but the body of the email is empty. So much to my consternation, when the email was saved on the iPad, it must have blown away the content of the email on my laptop. I can't explain why the Save I did on the laptop did not save the body of the email.
    Yet another Handoff mystery and a potential caution when trying it.

  • Creating physical standby db through grid control 11g fails with "default listener is not running"

    On step 4/6, i am getting error like below
    ErrorExamine and correct the following error(s), then re-try the operation.Default Listener in Grid Infrastructure - The default listener in the grid infrastucture is not running.
    I have the listener running on grid user and grid home, 11.2 in both primary and standby.
    During these steps till 4, its no where asked for grid user password.
    Not sure how it will detect the grid home listener.
    Listener is running with default port 1521 on both the servers primary and standby
    On the step 4 screen the other option for default listener is non-default listener and its pointing to db home and not grid home.
    So i guess oracle is looking for the listener to be up on the db home and not on grid home causing the issues,
    if so how to fix this ?
    I am using role separation, separate user for grid and oracle homes grid and oracle user and all are on 11.2.0.1 db + grid

    Hello again;
    Check the solution in this: ( and note the multiple versions of oracle it covers )

  • The down arrow of the msctls_updown32 control can fail to display under certain conditions using certain Windows Desktop themes

    I have a very odd issue with the msctls_updow32 control. Depending on the type of window or window heirarchy, when I click the up arrow with the autobuddy being an edit control, the down arrow disappears off the down button. I have to move the mouse back
    over the down button to get it to display. At first I figured it was something in my OnCtlColor code. But I found that the updown control is never passed to OnCtlColor. I get the window class of each input and it never shows up. Nor does it's window handle
    get passed in. Turning off OnCtlColor code and going default doesn't help. What I have found that helps is to turn off WIndows 7 Aero desktop and turn on Windows Classic desktop (Windows 7 Basic has the issue too). I also found that applying a skin to my app
    avoids the issue. Using spy I finally found what appears to be a connection to EM_SETSEL. When that message is sent and processed, the arrow has disappeared. I finally gave up and created my own subclass of a CEdit control (MFC) and called SubclassDlgItem.
    Then I implemented WindowProc and trapped the EM_SETSEL. Then I had to call UpdateWindow on the spin control and finally get the rectangle of the edit (buddy) and spin control and use that in a call to the parent (dialog) window's RedrawWindow.
     So there appears to be an issue with the updown control paired with an edit control that shows up depending on what desktop theme I am using. And to top it off, the window heirarchy seems to matter too (or perhaps the styles of the parent make a difference
    as I found the issue doesn't show up on every window that may contain such a configuration). Consider this a heads up regarding the issue! One other note, changing to any of the "High contrast" Windows 7 desktops also avoids the issue. So Aero and
    Basic seem to be the key.

    Fails on Win 8.1 too. As with Win 7, changing the desktop display to one of the high contrast ones avoids the problem. My work-around is below. I have a video showing the problem. It also shows the display being changed to high contrast and how the problem
    goes away. If only I could figure out how to use this web page to upload the zip file containing the video ...
    LRESULT Myedit::WindowProc( UINT message, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam )
    LRESULT lr = CEdit::WindowProc( message, wParam, lParam );
    if( message == EM_SETSEL )
    CDialog* pParent = (CDialog*) GetParent();
    if( pParent )
    CSpinButtonCtrl* pSpin = (CSpinButtonCtrl*)pParent->GetDlgItem(IDC_SMALL_PARTS_SPIN);
    if (pSpin)
    CRect rectSpin;
    pSpin->GetWindowRect( &rectSpin );
    CRect rectEdit;
    GetWindowRect( &rectEdit );
    CRect both;
    both.UnionRect( &rectSpin, &rectEdit );
    pParent->ScreenToClient( &both );
    //pParent->InvalidateRect( &both );
    //pParent->Invalidate();
    //pSpin->Invalidate();
    pSpin->UpdateWindow();// skip this and the problem remains.
    pParent->RedrawWindow(&both);// skip this and the problem remains.
    return lr;

  • Legal Control check failed

    I am trying to create a PR thru Network activity (SAP PS- CJ20N) for short text item without material master with account assignment N, the system is triggering Legal Control check failed error. Any lights on this.
    I am successful in creating PR for material master item for the same Project Network.
