CSCuq96905 - Support spaces in Agent Names

Also have to notice that WFO Recording Controls is having the same issue. Calabrio had fixed this for service release 10.5 SR4 ES1.
Expecting to have a fix for this soon on the UCCX platform.

Im experiencing this issue in UCCX 10.6.1. Does Cisco have a release date for this fix?

  • Spaces In Property Names

It is a known restriction that DIAdem, and DataFinder coerce spaces to underscores when searching for property names on TDMS files.  The Excel Add-in does something similar.
But the TDMS file structure and API apparently supports reading and writing properties with spaces in them.  So my question is why does DIAdem and DataFinder not support spaces in the name of properties?  This limitation must exist for a reason since if it were a simple fix it probably would have been taken care of years ago, so I'm not asking for this functionality to change just curious.

If 10 out of 10 experts in any field say something is bad, you should probably take their opinion seriously.

    Hi Brad,
Resurrecting this - it's only a month old, but it's still mild thread necrophilia nonetheless - is there anything in the settings to disable this behaviour if indexing is not of interest to me?
I ask as I've stumbled onto this feature when trying to tweak a saved NaN value in a LV-generated TDMS before uploading it to an SQL database. On saving, I found the behaviour that Hooovahh describes, plus a few additional properties added. Next time I come across this, having been duly burned this first time out, I'll just do it via LV!

  • SYMLINK won't work with space in folder name

Using Terminal commands, I can create a SYMLINK for OS folder if there is no space in folder name, such as -
    sudo rm -rf  ~/Library/Mail/
    ln -s /Volumes/Mr._Mac/Mail/ ~/Library/Mail
But if there is a space in the OS folder name, commands won't work, such as -
    sudo rm -rf  ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
    ln -s /Volumes/Mr._Mac/AddressBook/ ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
Terminal returns the following message -
ln: Support/AddressBook: No such file or directory
Is there some sort of symbol that needs to be used instead of a space so that Terminal reads the folder name as one word?
I've tried % which is used for HTML, but that doesn't work.

Put the entire path in single quotes or put a \ before each space. If you drag a file or folder from the Finder, it'll automatically supply the correct path.

  • UCCX 9/SocialMiner Web Chat Agent Name

    Hi,
We recently implemented SocialMiner in a DMZ to allow for the web chat support feature to integrate with our UCCX 9. I've run successful tests, but I have a question regarding the agent name that displays in the chat window. Currently, the agent name is showing as their Active Directory username, which is a first/middle initial and last name. Is there a way to change that so it only shows the First Name of the agent? We're concerned about privacy for our agents.
    See screenshot below.
    Thanks for your help!
    Kevin

    Hi
so i double checked and masking of "agent name "is not possible as of the moment by any configurable settings on UCCX
    it will always show "
"Agent ID" + "(Customer Rep.)" in chat room"
i hope this clarifies your questions,

  • Restore mailbox when user has a space in their name

    Hi,
I've deleted a few mailboxes accidently. I have been trying to restore them from last night's backup (using the Recover Deleted Account tool in the Admin console).
Any users without spaces in their name recover successfully, but all the ones with spaces (most of them) in the Name field won't - you select them, click ok and no user is selected. FOund TID 3989266 which says users with a space in the Mailbox ID can't be recovered, you need to remove the space first. Any idea how I can do that or another way to restore the mailboxes?
    Cheers,
    Ian

Just wanted to add some more info to my original post and ask a few more questions:
Firstly, my server is GW2014SP1 running on SLES11.3. My backups are done more or less as detailed in a cool solutions post:
    dbcopy <domain path> <backup path>/<domain>
    dbcopy <po path> <backup path>/<po path>
    rsync -avz --delete <agent path> <backup path>/<agent path>
    rsync -avz --delete <webaccess path> <backup path>/<webaccess path>
The backup path is then backed up to tape
The path that the domain dbcopy is done to is setup as the restore point for my system, so the previous night's backup is accessible from there and users can restore deleted mail from the client. That's where I'm trying to restore the mailboxes from in the admin console.
If I can't restore the deleted mailboxes using the restore function in the Admin console because of the space in the name, can I somehow re-create the users in my live system with the old file id (TID 3801441 shows how you do it in GW6.5 but how can you in GW2014?) and then login and restore the email from the restore location?
Failing that, I could setup a new server offline and dbcopy the backup to that system. That would put the deleted mailboxes into that system so they could be exported and then re-imported into the live system (once new users are created). However, I don't know how I could login as those users on the offline system without eDir being present. Since 2014 can host users without them being in eDir or AD, I guess there might be a way to do this?
There are 3 users who will need email access tomorrow morning, even if they don't have the old email. Can I setup a temp account with the old email address for those users to use in the meantime?
If I do that, my plan once I somehow find a way to restore their old mailbox, would be:
    rename the new temp account,
restore the deleted mailbox & emails
export the new mail from the temp account
import that into the restored mailbox
    delete the new temp account
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Ian

  • Mplayer can't play files with spaces in their name

After scratching my head and reinstalling codecs several times without luck, and old memory resurfaced of this occuring before and I managed to solve the problem.
The thing is that if you doubleclick a file in Nautilus, and said files has spaces in its name, mplayer won't be able to play it, and gives a very cryptic error message, ie "cannot play file a%20b.avi" if the name of the file is "a b.avi".
The trick is mentioned in this thread -- you edit /usr/share/applications/mplayer.desktop and change 'Exec=gmplayer %U' to 'Exec=gmplayer %F'.
The bug has been around forever, and hasn't been fixed yet. Perhaps the mplayer devs don't want to fix it. In any case, I would propose that either we fix this in the mplayer Arch package, or that someone more knowledgeable than I get in touch with the devs about it.
Just a suggestion, but I think it's kind of important. It's really confusing to new users.

In my opinion, it it's not arch's job to fix bugs from upstream, no matter if it's mplayer or gnome's fault. Of course there are exceptions, eg if a bug in a critical package hardlocks the whole system, or adds a huge security risk.
I would like to belive that the general arch user is smart enough to find one of the 30 threads about this bug (or the entry on the bugtracker) and fix it themselves. Personaly I would put this in the same category as packages that don't have a .desktop file at all from upstream.
Oh, and as a small sidenote: http://phraktured.net/patching-patching-patching.html

  • IWeb and uploading jpegs with spaces in their names

I have created a site with about 100 jpegs that I wish to load up to a server other than ".Mac". Some jpegs have spaces in their names, so "Fetch" will not upload them. I deleted the spaces from their names and loaded the jpegs back into the site and saved and published to a folder. However, the resulting "Site"folder shows the jpegs still have spaces in their names, even though I removed them from the name of the jpeg. IWeb must be getting the name from some internal tag or something. For example, I had a jpeg called "Billie Holiday.jpg" I changed the name to "BillieH.jpg", but when I publish the site to a folder, the jpeg still shows up as "Billie Holiday.jpg" and therefore I cant upload it using "Fetch". Where is iWeb getting the names of the jpegs from, and how do I remove the spaces? Or, does anybody know of an application that can upload files (ftp) with spaces in their names?
    Thanks,
    Mitch

    However, the resulting
"Site"folder shows the jpegs still have spaces in
their names, even though I removed them from the name
    of the jpeg.
Very strange. You might try renaming the site with Inspector to something else than Site and republishing, to guarantee you have a totally new set of files.
    Or, does
anybody know of an application that can upload files
(ftp) with spaces in their names?
It's not the ftp program. You can't have spaces in file names on most web servers, they won't accept the files.

  • Quicktime 10 "Save For Web", spaces in file names?

Maybe I'm overlooking something here, but:
When using Quicktime 10's "Save for Web" function, it exports movie source files that all have spaces in the filenames (i.e. "Movie - iPhone.m4v" etc)
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but most web servers DO NOT like having spaces in the filenames, and every time I try to upload them to one of our web servers, I'm getting an error message that says it doesn't like the file.
Simply removing the spaces from the filenames causes the Quicktime reference movie to stop working, as you might expect.
Am I missing something here? How would someone possibly get this to work?

Thanks for the reply - actually it was helpful, and was the final nail in the coffin for Yahoo Webhosting for us. We've been using it for years, and even though it ***** terribly (and I mean TERRIBLY, horribly, painfully), we've stuck with it just because it's been easier to use it than to not switch. But you're exactly right... I tried uploading files to Cachefly with spaces in the name, and bingo, works perfectly.
    Thanks.

  • Space appearing in name of just one font family member

Hi, I have a problem with InDesign CS4 adding a space in the name of just one particular style of a font family.
This is happening with a company's custom-produced corporate typeface. It has a Font Suitcase file (named "XY Com") and four corresponding Type-1 PostScript files (named "XYCom", "XYComBol", "XYComIta" and "XYComBolIta") for the Regular, Bold, Italic and BoldItalic styles.
For the Regular version, InDesign CS4 lists the name as "XY Com", but for other styles it lists the family as "XYCom" (i.e. without a space in the name).
So as well as the family is not getting grouped properly in the various menus, ID also gives an error message about the 'missing' font when opening files created in ID2.0 which use the correct (?) name.
The problem just seems to be happening in ID CS4 (and IIRC in ID CS3, which I had installed briefly). In InDesign 2.0, the font family shows up correctly grouped, as likewise in Font Book, Linotype FontExplorer X, the standard OS X font selection dialog, etc.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Stewart.
    ID CS4 v6.0, OS X v10.5.5.

Eric, thanks for the suggestions. I have tried deleting those files and clearing the font caches but the problem persists.
I have noticed that a different font with a Suitcase/PostScript file combination does not have the problem - but this font is different in that it has a Suitcase file for each PostScript font file, rather than one Suitcase file for several PostScript font file.
So, it looks like when there is a font family with a Suitcase file referencing multiple PostScript files, InDesign is using the long font name for one style (always the Normal/Regular style?) and the short font name for the others.
I wonder whether this is just happening on my own system or whether it is a general problem. Does anybody want to check?
Some example fonts that exhibit the problem are the Image Club Graphics fonts on the Adobe Action Pack Graphics CD that came with PageMaker a few years ago, if anybody has that lying around.
    Cheers,

  • No space between phonetic name and department

Has anyone experienced a problem on iPhone running iOS7 when using contacts. I recently added information to one of my contacts: department, phonetic name, company, etc. When I was done, I pushed "Done" and it showed me info without space between phonetic name and department. Words were written together. How can I contact apple to tell them to fix that issue?

    Hi there
I may be wrong in my understanding with this. My own understanding is that when you have expanding text, the space between the expanded text and the next text was removed. For example:
Here is a sentence with expanding text to click on.
And if the user clicked the expanding text, the expansion occurred, but removed the space between the expanded text and the next word. So it looked like this:
Here is a sentence with expanding textexpanded text contentto click on.
So my understanding was that the update would correct things so that they looked like this:
Here is a sentence with expanding textexpanded text content to click on. (Note the space between "content" and "to".)
What you seem to be describing is that the text looks like this when you expand it:
Here is a sentence with expanding textexpanded text content to click on.
But you would prefer it look like this instead:
Here is a sentence with expanding text expanded text content to click on. (Note the added space between "text" and "expanded".)
My thought is that you can work past this by simply inserting a space character to precede the expanded text.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Sql server problem - space in table name

    Hi
I am getting the following error

    when running the sql statement

I don't know for sure if this will work, but MS SQL Server allows you to reference tables with spaces in the names using [] syntax:

  • UCCX Historical Reports Not Accurately Filtered by Agent Name

Hello, we're having an odd problem when running our historical reports.  When we filter a report by Agent Name only a couple of agents have any records.  However when we filter the same report by skill or CSQ name the records for all agents are present, leading me to think that the records are not being tagged properly somewhere in the database.  Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions for resolving this?
For an example, if I run the Agent Call Summary report and filter by all of my agent names, I only get records for 3 people during the reporting period.  If I filter based on CSQ name I get records for all 25 agents.
We are using UCCX version 8.02

I'm also having agents show in the filter list that are no longer in the system, and in at least one case reports filtered by a skill report an agent who is not assigned to that skill anymore.  Are these symptoms a result of configuration in some way?  I'm starting to feel like the reporting is buggy in this release.

  • Agent Logs under agent names shows no information in CSD

I have 1 supervisor and that supervisor needs to see the agent logs under each individual agent name but for some reason there is nothing being reported there. If an agent takes a call or makes a call, inbound or outbound will appear under the agent name with data but logs just will not show anything. Is there a setting somewhere i'm missing?

You may have already checked this and apologize if you did, but have you verified that the supervisor is configured to see the columns under the Logs?
In Supervisor, go to View - Preferences.  In the window that appears, go to Team - Agent - Logs and click on "Configure" on the right side, in the "Columns" field.  Make sure that the columns have a check mark next to them.
If that is ok, have you tried running Supervisor from a different machine to see if that works?
