CSM - Client NAT for routable server subnet
I have clients and servers that are outside of the vlans that are the defined ones for CSM. I am using a client NAT pool that is part of the server side address space and server NAT. I see in a packet capture that the server is replying to pings to one of the NAT pool addresses. The ping does not get back to the client. The CSM is acting like it is not listening to traffic for the client NAT address. I saw an article that talked about "Secure router mode" and doing "IP SLB MODE CSM". I am not in that mode. Do I need to be and what effect will that have on my current load balanced servers?
Thanks. This is now working.
I see that the NAT has to be in the client address space as that is where the default gateway for the CSM is. Made the following changes:
no natpool CLIENTNAT1 10.200.0.230 10.200.0.232 netmask 255.255.255.0
natpool CLIENTNAT1 10.200.250.230 10.200.250.232 netmask 255.255.255.0
Noticed that a previous "show mod csm 5 arp" showed:
10.200.2.100 -->10.200.250.1 0 REAL routed
10.200.2.101 -->10.200.250.1 0 REAL routed
10.200.2.102 -->10.200.250.1 0 REAL routed

Licensing-Can I use 10 client version for Web server?
I have a client that is looking to move their web servers from IIS and Windows to OSX server.
My question is, how does the licensing shceme work? Can we use a 10 user version of OSX Server for a web server, or do we need the Unlimited version?
Not 100% familiar with the server side of Mac things, so treat me gentlyHi
The licensing only applies to connected AFP users, so you can use a 10 Client version without any problems. -
Am I correct that I need to NAT a public address to the private address of
my Windows server in order to have a fully functional Exchange server
in-house?
My ISP tells me I can give them the required information and they will
switch from them providing email to us handling it in-house but I have never
done this before.
TIA for any pointers.

in general, yes.

I tend to be very skeptical about ISP's skills, therefore I'd be careful
about what they say and recommend. It's up to you (since you're the one
who has been dealing with them before) to decide if they're experienced
and trustworthy enough :-)
Said that, there is a configuration that allows you to retrieve your
messages from the ISP regularly, without having your server being
directly accessible through a public IP address (think about a PO box
instead of your standard mailbox in front of your house).
Essentially the ISP stores the incoming messages for you, and your
server will "get them" at regular intervals. Since the connection is
initiated by your server, you don't need to have a public IP address.
(you don't need a public IP address to SEND e-mails, so that's not an
issue).
I've never ran a mail server in this configuration, since it's usually
more typical for very small businesses, but it's possible.

Hello,
The OTN download for Oracle 9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1) 32-bit for Windows Server 2003 is incorrect. This link brings you to the 9.2.0.3 PATCHSET download, and NOT the base release software.

I desparately need to download the 9.2.0.1 32-bit Client. The eDelivery site only has the 9.2.0.1 64-bit release. I contacted Oracle support to have CDs shipped and they arrived today however no 32-bit client was contained inside. The sticker on the back directs you to OTN for download.
Is anyone able to help me?

SteveFound the solution
Steve - you need to install 9.2.0.1 for NT/2000/XP and then apply the 9.2.0.3 patch to bring it to 9.2.0.3 for Windows 2003.
It's in the release notes on that page:

Hope that helps.. -

I called Oracle support and requested a shipment for Oracle9i for Windows Server 2003. I made sure that whatever media pack they were sending me what explicitly for 2003. It was for both 2000 & 2003 however the client/database CDs for 2003 are only for 64-bit.
If 9i 32-bit is the only certified version for AMD processors why isn't it in included the media pack? There's a nice sticker on the back that notifies you that the 32-bit software requires an additional upgrade that is available from OTN.
So, If OTN's link is bad and no one is from OTN is moderating this site then how on Earth is anyone able to aquire this software version? Oracle's Metalink offers no solution outside of posting to this forum.

Oracle for Windows Server 2003 - Download file
Hi,
I download Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) from OTN(file 9203WIN2K3.zip), but it doesn't have any setup file on the extracted files.
I think that file 9203WIN2K3.zip is not complete or is not the appropriate one.
Can anybody please help me ?
Thanks !

Cuiabá - MT - BrasilI am actuallt trying to do the same. What I fond out at one time, was that installing 9i on Windows 2003 is a multiple step process. First, you install the reqular three CD (or DISKS if you download the installation) and then you install the patches. I think what you have downloaded is only the patch. Read the README that comes with the zip file. I am looking for the document that described installing 9i on 2003. If I find id, I will pass it on.

SLDCHECK fails for XI server - SLD on separate system
Dear All,
I have SLD configured on my solution manager system. All systems including XI are updating data in SLD -> Technical Systems.
My problem
When I execute SXMB_IFR, SLD web page opens up fine. But in transaction log is see following:
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code 4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Also, when I try to execute Runtime Workbench, is throws following errors:
5 Message(s) : SLD agent unable to specify domain - Error class com.sap.aii.rwb.exceptions.BuildLandscapeException: Error during communication with System Landscape Directory: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access - Attempt to create JCo connection object failed for domain domain.00.zonexid - Integration Server unable to specify a JCo client - No component names available from Integration Server -
I have checked authorizations for all users, PIRWBUSER, PIAPPLUSER (used in SLDAPICUST) etc, but couldn't solve it.
Post installation, I changed client setting for integration server after client copy and followed "Wizard-based basic configuration" for PI steps.
Can anyone pls point out where I'm failing.
regards, Sean.Hi,
Can you check this way.
in SMSY_SETUP --> Edit --> Expert Setting
Write Data Back into SLD
SLD Host <hostname>
Namespace in SLD sld/active
SLD Server Port 5??00
Passwort SLD <password>
SLD User XIAPPLUSER
And then schedule the data update again.
If you cannot find the Password SLD field follow the OSS note 757204 report YKSLDPW.
Report YKSLDPW.
TABLES SMSY_OPTIONS.
SMSY_OPTIONS-SYS_OPTION = 'SLD_PW'.
SMSY_OPTIONS-VALUE = 'Ihr SLD_PW'.
SMSY_OPTIONS-VISIBLE = 'X'.
SMSY_OPTIONS-EDITABLE = 'X'.
Modify SMSY_OPTIONS.
Report YKSLDPW helped us to set up an automatic data capture.

Incorrect link for "Oracle9i Release 2 for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
Hi. Go to here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html
Then, under "Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1)", try to download "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit). It just gives you a patch. It's not the correct link. Where is the full CD images!
Compare this to the 64-bit version under "Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.2). This does have 2 big CD images.
Can you fix the link? I need the software for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit). Thanks.Yes, it's a little confusing but it's all in the release notes on that page. Basically, you need to install 9.2.0.1 for WinNT/2000 first and then apply the patch to bring it up to v9.2.0.3 for Windows 2003.

Incorrect download file for Oracle 9.2.0.1 for Windows server 2003
Hi,
I am trying to get hold of the Oracle 9.2.0.1 client software for Windows server 2003 from <http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html> the link is in the section "Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1)", titled "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)"
I follow the links through and download the OUI and "9.2.0.1" software, however after downloading and unzipping the package it seems that the download was actually the 9.2.0.3 patch that cannot be installed without 9.2.0.1 installed first. I tried this on Friday and today with the same results.
Could you tell me how I get hold of the 9.2.0.1 client software for Windows Server 2003 please?
Thanks,
Mark WilliamsAs Windows 2003 is officially released this week, I believe Oracle will shortly announce which versions of the database will be supported on Windows 2003. Stay tuned.

Is there a way to NAT a server initiated connection based upon destination similar to what's possible using a souce group in a CSS. What I'd like to do is NAT a server initiated connection to the Virtual IP when the server is connecting to the internet, but bypass NAT when the connection is to an internal network.
make a vserver to catch the internal traffic and use a predictor forward serverfarm with no client nat and no server nat.
Make another vserver with catch all traffic from server vlan and use a predictor forward serverfarm with client nat enable.

Use of client nat pools on the CSM
Hi Guys,
Just a quick questions about the use of NAT POOLS, which the configuration guide is a little scant for information.
If a client NAT pool such as this is used (16 addresses):
natpool POOL1 10.1.5.0 10.1.5.15 netmask 255.255.255.240
I just want to make sure that port address translation (PAT) will be used by the CSM if the number of sessions exceed the number of IP addresses available in the NAT pool?
I hope this makes sense!
thanks
Sheldonthe CSM does PAT by default.

Creating NAT for multiple subnets
Hello I want to create a 1 NAT for 5 sub networks on a windows 2008 machine the sub networks are; 192.168.224.0/27 192.168.224.32/27 192.168.224.64/27 192.168.224.96/27 192.168.224.128/27 I intend to have a server on the 192.168.224.0/27 sub network. After
installing 2 network cards on the server, 1 for the private addressing scheme and 1 for the external network address and installing RRAS I am wondering how nodes on the other sub networks will find their way out to the external network, will RRAS take care
of that? or is it not possible to have only 1 NAT for several sub networks? It is possible, but I would think that you would need six NICs in the server - one for the public connection and one for each private subnet.
It sounds as if you want to implement VLANs. If you do, RRAS does not so that.
Bill -
in csm, we need client nat.
I have a question about client nat.
client nat is pat or nat?
if that is pat, that is operated with rotary type?
if client nat is just nat, we have problem. The PAT for FTP service setting vserver is 1025 - 8192.
For others, the PAT range is 8193-65535.
It start at 8193 and incrementing.
PAT is always on.

Need Help Binding Windows Xp clients to 10.5 server for a beginner
Hi
I've setup 10.5 server as a standard config. Which turns out it is a Open Directory Master and SMB role is Standalone Server.
I have been able to bind my 10.4 clients to the server domian using Directory Access and choosing automatic under LDAPv3/config.
So far the Macs are working well.
But I need to get the PC XP workstations on board. Where in XP do I have to go to enter in the info for the server to bind the clients to it? All this is new to me and still learning. The server is pretty basic. Authenticating users and giving them access to the shares.
Thanks
SteveHi Dave
Thanks for the tips. I was wondering if you could help me out some more? I have never done any binding on the PC. Macs seem quite easy. I'm having trouble taking the info I have on the Mac and applying it to the correct input on the PC's. Bare with me. I think I am almost there.
I did not have the diradmim account set up. But I do now.
Now I have gotten to my computer/properties/system properties/Computer name
I clicked on the Change button near bottom right
Now I am at this new window.
Computer name: I can put anything I want in here?
Member of: I should check Domain and enter the domain of the server?
(currently in my smb settings on the server I have workgroup set to WORKGROUP. Does this need to change?)
Last question I think. You mentioned the diradmin account on 10.5. Where do I enter this info on the PC.
Sorry for all the questions but having this info would help and get me where I need to be.
Thanks
Steve
