CSM login Steps and Important thing to be observed

I need to Know about some basics of CSM. I am working network security part, i am new to this, as per my team i need to login CSM frequently. But still now i am not able to login. how to login it please provide me with snaps.. Actually i am login from my PC through Remote desktop--> then clicking CSM icon--> Page is opened in internet explorer to enter the credential--> once entered i am receiving error as HTTP 500 status error. Please help me what is the error and also advantages of CSM will be helpful to me..

An expired license would normally only be seen of one was using an evaluation license. the normal CSM product licenses dont expire.

Import server Process consuming maximum time at Parsing and Importing steps

We are using Import server to Import files and most of the time looks like is spent on Impoting and Parsing, the whole load took little more than an hour and these two steps (see the log below) took almost 50 mins.

So I wonder how can we reduce the time taken for these two steps?
Same thing on Import Manager takes 10 mins max to open up and I assume Import manager opening up an XML is equivalent to Importer & Parser thread of Import server ?

It is Queued parallel Processing, you will not see a true parallel processing here, just like a pipelined CPU architecture.
Say Chunk 1 is at stage 1 preparing import records
Then Nothing else happens parallelly
Now is Chunk 1 moved to stage 2 Filter/Merge
Then Chunk 2 can move to stage 1 preparing import records
Now Chunk 1 moves to stage 3 MDS
Then Chunk 2 moves to stage 2 Filter/Merge
And Chunk 3 moves to stage 1 preparing import records
so on ......and so forth......
So if you prepare a Gantt chart with all these tasks in swim lanes then over a period of time you will observe that actually 'n' number of tasks will be running on various chunks and this 'n' is the what you set in No.of Chunks parameter.
try observing, when the stage 1 task started on Chunk 2 , see if it kinda overlaps stage 2 of chunk 1. Try posting all the logs , very interesting observation !
Size of Chunk is like preparing the packet, in any communication protocol, the more records you have in chunk , the less overhead/record but more wait time. The less the no.of records you have in your chunk the more the overhead/record but less the wait time. So yeah this can be tweaked according to your memory.

Export/import login server and user grup security

Hi,
I followed the instructions to export Login server, user group
security using the ssoexp.csh, secexp.csh. Then I imported the
login server, and user group security using the ssoimp.csh,
secimp.csh .
I then logged into Portal and check the users, all the users are
imported properly. However, I didn't see any group that are
supposed to be imported. Do I missing anything?
The syntax to run the secimp is as follows:
secimp.csh -s portal30 -p portal30 -o portal30 -m reuse -d
sec.dmp -c target_database
The import finished w/o error. How can I see the groups in the
new portal instance that I tried to import objects in?
I noticed that the wwsec_group$ in the source area is over 3000,
and in the target the count is only 10, which is the number of
group I have before the import. But during the export, I don't
see the wwsec_group$ table being exported, is that the problem?
P.S. versions are: 9iAS 1.0.2, portal version 3.0.9.8 on solaris.

I'm not clear on what you're saying about your backup. Are you saying that when you connect to iTunes it's asking you to restore from backup even though you already have?

For 10g there exist two ways to do so.
1) Regular exp/imp.
2) Data pump expdp/impdp.
As this is your first export and import activity, relevant concept understanding is mandatory for you.

You dont have to follow any special steps, Export and Import are same on all OS's.

Custom step type Export and Import

I have created custom step types similar IVI for all my HAL drivers.
I need help in sharing it with my team in different locations.
I am looking at exporting and importing of the custome step types similar to templates.
Could anyone help me with this.

Anna,
when creating the step type definition, you have picked a location for it. By default, it is "MyTypes.ini".
You can create your own custom ini-file containing your specific step types in the type editor.
When distributing your step types, you have to pass the ini-file containing the type definition(s) AND all sources connected to that types (substep modules).
On the target machine, you have to include that ini-file in the system for type definitions in the type editor.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

How do you know it's not backing up those things? To check documents, go in the Finder to your documents folder, then go to the Time Machine icon in your menubar and click Enter Time Machine. Scroll back through time and see if previous versions of the documents exist in the backups.
For Mail, same thing. Open the Mail app, go into Time Machine in the same way, and scroll back. Your inbox should change to reflect how it looked when it was backed up.

How do I stop the Key from popping up everytime I log on to a site with login name and password. This pop up is big and annoying and I'm ready to go back to IE than have that thing pop up huge and annoying.

The pop up that asks if I want to save this login name and password everytime I login to a site. It is huge and annoying as hell. I just want to have an option to stop it. I know it's there, I don't need to be reminded everytime and if I wanted it to remember I would use it. Give me a break.
