CSS 11500 - Change name device
Hi,
I need to change the device name (hostname) of my CSS 11500. How I can do that? I'm searching since some hours without result.
to avoid having to retype the name after each reboot, you have to do a save_profile.

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

What devices are you trying to connect to, and are they in pairing mode? Is the phone in pairing mode? The iPhone only connects to audio devices and to computers for tethering. You cannot use BlueTooth on an iPhone for file transfers to other phones or computers.

What is the appropriate product name for CSS 11500 on Bug Toolkit
Today I tried to search DDTs of CSS 11500 on Bug Toolkit (http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/home.pl), however I can not find out appropriate product name corresponding to CSS 11500.
Before I had searched DDTs of CSS 11500 on Bug Toolkit many times, at that time, if my memory correct..
I selected "Cisco CSS 11500 Series Content Services Switches" in the list of "Search for bugs in other Cisco software and hardware products" on Bug Toolkit.
But I can not find this product name today.
Do you know what product name appropriate for CSS 11500 on Bug Toolkit ?

Cannot change name on a MI424WR network device.
I have an Actiontec MI424WR Rev I with the latest update. I can see everything connected to the router (network) and change the names of most items. One device (the printer) will not give me the option to change the device name. Why? Is this fixable?

The Printer is a Brother MFC-8480DN.
So I went into the settings and manually set the printer to DHCP and guess what..... it now lets me change the name on the router.
I guess the default is not actually DHCP so I was making assumptions.....

I can't rename my printer either.
In the case of my printer (and I suspect yours) when installing the printer as a LAN device, the printer is assigned a static IP address during the configuration process. This is different than letting the router assign an IP and then checking the "Static Lease Type" in the router's advanced setup.
I have a couple of other devices, a PC, a WAP, etc., where I've manually assigned them their own IP addresses. I can't rename those devices in the router's setup either.
Bottom line: It seems that if a device has a static IP that is assigned to manually and outside of the Actiontec's setup, that device can't be renamed.
If your printer was actually assigned its IP address by the router's DHCP, I'm stumped. -

Changing Max-Connections in CSS 11500
I have an architecture with two 11500 in active-passive mode and receive 800 connections every 5 minutes.
Could appear secondaries effects if i change the default of max-connections in CSS 11500 for example to 1200?
One of the risks i want to avoid is with this change, the CSS could be crashdown because of the drop of connections..Good morning,
Could you please let me know what is the exact parameter you are talking about?
From what you described, I believe you may be referring to the "max connections" parameter configured under the services. This command just limits the number of concurrent connections that are allowed on a specific real server to ensure that the server itself doesn't get overloaded. Increasing this limt would not have any negative effect on the CSS itself, but, since you are allowing more simultaneous connections on the server, you may experience resource issues on the server itself. -
Changing Bluetooth device name

I'm not that familiar with WTK, and I'm looking for a way to change the device name that is sent as ID over Bluetooth. I think I understand that the getFriendlyName() method returns the device name, but is there a way to change it ?

So a follow up to this (and using the question you asked). Taking the question about can I connect I did connect to the device again and then turned "Handsfree Calling" off in the Device Details. This seems to leave the device present, but unconnected. It is no longer bugging me, which is something. I'd rather not have it present at all of course, but that seems to be hard!
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this as a long term solution?

I've recently upgraded my SDK to allow me encorporate other features such as the Text Layout Framework and such. To avoid issues i've had to make Flash player 10 as required, which is where the problems are occuring in my main project.
We knew the switch would cause some issues, and we now have a lovely batch of 100+ Warnings, that are all along the lines of

all the warnings are on line locations that have no reference to the component they are talking about.. so i'm kinda stumped on what to do. Anybody else run into this issue before?

Services with different IP address subnets over CSS 11500 series
Hi all folks!
I have two CSS 11500 series...
In just a few months i will have ready a DRS (Disaster Recovery Site), where i will have 2 more servers to add to the environment.
But this servers will be in a different subnet from that today i have for the servers who are configured in the current services of my CSS.
So then the doubt i arises is:
Is correct to add two new services with these servers, but using the IP addressing of the DRS site???, and including on the CSS a static route to this network, (of the DRS) in order to reach them?? is it correct, it will work well?

It's possible to change the device address of a NI2503 board
It would be nice to change the device address of a NI 2503 Switch board.
I have several NI 2503 Switch Boards in my PXI 1006 Chassis. After installing the boards and performing a MAX Refresh the device addresses of the boards are listed in a random (?) order. So its troublesome to get the information which device is related to which slot.
I have more than one 1006 Chassis with the same configuration of NI 2503 Boards and I may avoid to have different software versions with different device numbers for the chassis.The short answer is no you can't modify the device numbers for the switches.
The long answer is that device numbers are set by the bios and you can't modify them. In your 1006 chasssis there are 3 buses and in each bus the devices start at some number like 15 or 20. As the slot number increases the device number decreases. The best way to view what device numbers are assigned to which slot you need to open the pxisys.ini file on your computer. The slot number and device numbers are total dependant upon your controller. The best place to verify that you have the correct ini file is to see the following webpage : PXI VXI/VME and PXI Controller Peripherals. The ini file is only an indicator of
the settings in the bios. If you change any of the devices then you will lose functionality of that board.
There is some hope though. One thing that you can do is use the IVI support for the switches. If you download the Class Drivers for switches, then you will be able to create an IVI devices and logical names in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). The IVI devices will hold the address of the module (i.e. PXI0::14::INSTR). Then create a logical name that points to the IVI virtual device. This logical name can then be referenced in LabVIEW instead of the module address. Then when you need to modify the slot number/device number of a device you simply need to modify the IVI device. There is a tutorial that will step you through this process found in the Developer Zone at : Using Measurement & Automation Explorer to Configure Your IVI System

Change Output Device Settings @ Runtime?
This will sound silly, but there is a good reason for it :). Also, I am not much of an ABAPer.
We have a requirement to change output device settings on the fly in a program. For instance, in case A, we would like to use the output device as it was originally configured in SPAD. However, in case B, we would like to override the output device's access method and host dynamically in code.
Is there any function module or technique that can change these output device properties via code at runtime (printtime)?

Portal - Change name on a HTML file

I have been asked to change the name of a HTML file displayed on the portal. I went to 'content admin' - 'km content' - 'documents' right clicked on the content menu for the file and selected rename. I changed the name, but it did not update on the portal. I am assuming I need to change it somewhere else, but I am not sure where. Please advise where to change the name
