CSS 11501 ssh license key

I have two CSS devices and I am trying to get SSH access set up.
I have the CSS WebNS software which according to the Claim Certificate includes:
Enhanced Feature Set
Secure Management
Proximity Database
I have enabled SSH in the devices but they are rejecting my attempt to access on port 22.
Do I need to get an additional license key for SSH in addition to the license key I put in for the enhanced feature upgrade?

Hi,
Yes actually the output of the "show version" shows that you do not have the Secure Management License, you need to send an e-mail to [email protected] and include the serial number of the unit, they will probably ask for some other details.

Hi,
I have changed the password for the Admin user (which was SuperUser) but when I changed it I forgot to add "SuperUser" at the end, now I don't have SuperUser access to the CSS 11501.
Can anyone shade some light on this problem and explain how can I reset the password for a SuperUser?

Hi Shai,
You need to reboot the CSS. When prompt, hit any key to go into the Offline Diagnostic Menu.
When you get in the menu, you will go to Administrative options and create an additional Admin user. When you do this, DO NOT use "admin", use something totally different.
Get out of the Offline DM and reboot the CSS. When the CSS comes up, login as the new user (which will have Superuser rights) and run the "username" cli to change the password of "admin" and add the superuser part this time.

CSS 11501 StartUp Problem

Hi all,
After i boot up for the first time, the CSS asked for change User/Pass, wich i perform a well known ones.
After that it's always impossible to login.
Is there any way of return to factory default Settings?
or
Is there any password recovery procedure?
or
What are the default User/Pass of the equipment?
I already done a Power Off/On on it with no results.

I perform the password recovery, as it was documented and then its always getting the "CSS 11501 Offline Diagnostic Monitor menu (OffDM)" Menu, even if i dont press the Y key in the bootup question "Would you like to access the Offline Diagnostic Monitor? (Y)"
Any ideias?
How can i test the login i changed before?

CSS 11501 using wildcard certificates

Hello,
I'm about to switch to wildcard certificates in a CSS 11501, however there are some doubts that I would like to clarify:
- When generating the CSR can i use *.mycompany.com for CN ?
- Should the CSR be generated only once or every time i need to create a new content rule i need to generate it?
- If only once can I associate multiple filenames with only one certificate?
ssl associate cert myrsacert1 certificate.pem; ssl associate cert myrsacert2 certificate.pem...

Yes that will take care of any subdomain you need... something that you need to consider is that this wilcard will cover site like cars.mycompany.com or shop.mycompany.com but if you have a site that looks like ftp.shop.mycompany.com then you'll need a wildcard that looks like *.*.mycompany.com.
The CSR is generated only once and from there you send it to your CA to have signed off.
Not sure I fully understood your second question, once you received the cert and key whether in PFX or PEM format from your CA, you'll upload these to your CSS using FTP and then associate the file(s) to a name that is only meaningful to the SSL proxy list within your CSS.

CSS 11501S GSLB DNS

I am in the process of planning for a GSLB failover solution for a web site. I have attached a very basic diagram showing an example of the topology.
The aim is to have two sites. A primary site and a DR site to be used as a failover solution.
The main site has two web servers that will need to be load balanced and the failover DR site will only have 1 web server.
My initial plan was to use 2 Cisco CSS 11501S devices as I believe this would provide the load balancing and GSLB functionality I require.
To achieve this I was going to use the CSS's as the primary and secondary name servers for the domain. This has raised a few question marksâ¦.
Both of our sites are connected to a private WAN (with private IP ranges). See attached diagram. Our internet access is provide through a third party âFirewall Portâ directly off the WAN. We don't manage the firewall that connects to the internet. This third party firewall provides the NAT for our public facing services (web servers, mail servers, ftp servers etc).
So my questions areâ¦
* Because the CSS's and web servers are located on a private network will the CSS's be able to respond to the DNS requests with the PUBLIC IP address (as seeen from the internet) of the servers as apposed to the private IP address of the servers? If the firewall in front of the CSS's was connected to the internet this could be done via DNS doctoring but our firewall is on a private subnet!
* Is it possible to get the CSS's to respond to DNS requests for other domain devices that do not reside behind the CSS - E.g. a MX record for a mail server that resides on another 'private' network?
*Is there a better way to achieve this?
Any assistance would be much appreciated!!

Do you mean that you will only get the public ip address from a DNS query and therefore this won't work locally?
If I have a host file entry providing the private address resolution for my internal hosts will this work?

Why is this no longer supported? Are there a lot of problems with GSLB on the CSS? It is pretty hard to justify the cost of a solution including 2 GSS's for GSLB and 1 CSS for server load balancing when comapred to the price of 2 CSS's with the enhanced license for both GSLB and server load balancing.
I have one client that wants to use their existing CSS's for a solution like this and another that is starting from scratch.

Renew certificate CSS 11501

I have a CSS 11501 running 08.10.1.06. Is there a way to renew the existing SSL certificate on the box or must I create a new one? All the doc I've read basically treats renewing the same as creating a new cert. Thanks for your help.

In the world of SSL certificates the concept of renewing doesn't exist. You always need to create a new certificate and import it to replace the old one.
To generate this new certificate, you can either use the old private key or create a new one. If you use a new one, then, make sure to also import it along with the new certificate.

I am having to reinstall Adobe Pro because of a hard drive failure. I have lost the License Key and need to know how to retrieve it so I can reinstall the product.

How do I retrieve the Adobe Pro License key/# so I can reinstall on my computer. I had to have the hard drive replaced due to failure and don't have the necessary information to reinstall Adobe Pro.

As this was a 1,000 USD + purchase I did registered back in 2008 when I got my copy of "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium". And now I'm in the same situation as you. I did go to manage my account and found my serial number.
My disk crashed completely and I got everything back and running from my Time Machine backup. A few days ago Illustrator said there was a licensing issue. I tried all their gradual solutions up to the very last one: Reinstalling.
I did that and inserted the Serial number; it worked. Now that I'm opening the Adobe Acrobat Pro it requires me to input the serial and it says is invalid!
Anyone has an idea about this?

How do I enter CS6 license key when Adobe Application Manager immediately tries to authenticate against my expired Creative Cloud membership?

I have CS6 Master Suite installed along side my now-expired Creative Cloud apps (I am evaluating whether to renew my subscription at this time). Both CS6 and Creative Cloud are currently unlicensed due to a snafu with my educational license, but I have a new CS6 license that I am trying to register CS6 with. However, upon launching any CS6 program, Adobe Application Manager then launches and tells me that my Creative Cloud membership is now expired. How/where to I enter my CS6 license key? I have already tried entering my new license on my Adobe account profile > “My products and services”, and reinstalled CS6 applications from my original disk image (MasterCollection_CS6_LS16.dmg).

Figured this one out from another thread, after which I was able to sign in again with my Adobe ID and my software was ready to use:
Windows:
Delete these folders
SLStore from C:\ProgramData\Adobe
SLCache from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
OOBE from C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Adobe
Mac:
Delete SLStore and SLCache from /Library/Application Support/Adobe
Delete OOBE from ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

1st the sata drive cannot be listed as a slave drive to the ide master [key word=ide-can be configured as master OR slave, master IF only 1 hd, master and slave IF 2 hds], on the sata controler you can have master and slave, the ide cable has two connectors for the hds, sata has only 1 hd connector.
are you wanting to install the sata as primary master and move the operating sys to that drive, if so you will need an IMAGING software to move an operating system OR you could do a fresh operating system install to the sata drive then install your programs.

ASA 5505 Failure replaced and need to move the license key?

Can someone point me in the right direction? My ASA 5505 died due to a power surge and I swapped it with a spare. I had Security Plus and a 50 user license and need to move the license keys from the failed ASA 5505 to the new one. I kept both my emails with the activation keys, but not sure how I get this transferred? Thanks in advance.

I think this is totally unacceptable. For anyone else who uses a 5505 at home and has bought licenses and the hardware out of their own pocket, the idea here should be that you've already bought the hardware and the license. Seems obvious, right?
Yes I can see the license being device specific if not only because that's the way you've designed your licensing activation schema; but if I've just had your product fail and bought another replacement, there should be an understanding or agreement between Cisco and the user that we can reinstate any licenses we've already bought.
Do you really believe it's fair to make someone buy something from you twice, something that they've already bought from you? Do you actually believe that? I believe that the people in the Cisco Licensing department would agree with my viewpoint and I have a pending case with them for this issue right now. I will post my result here.
Make your products last and perhaps I can give credence to your licensing beliefs, until then your products fail and so does your licensing logic.

SAP license key error: no valid license found: cannot log into SAP GUI

I deleted temp license from slicense on SM box, since I had already installed new digital license from SAP. Well, later I tried to log in again and was locked out. After some research, I found "sap license check failed" in the log files, java will not come up, and the hardware key has changed on me, so the valid license that was active before is not showing up now.
I applied for a new license with new hardware key and attempted to install from cmd prompt, using saplicense -install ifile=c:license.txt, but it gets an error. I put a trace on it and appears it cannot read license file key. I also tried to install another temp license, but that failed since no other previous valid license was found. At this point, I'm thinking I need to manually insert the license key into the database, but not sure what table or exactly how. SAP has not provided a solution yet.
I believe the hardware key changed due to renaming the server (we took out a hyphen in name) and had also reinstalled afterwards.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Yes, I wish it were that simple, but I cannot even bring up the logon screen. SAP GUI returns a message, resource temporarily unavailable. I looked in SAP MMC syslog and found several entries, "SAP-Basis System: No license found for hardware ID DLIC_HWIDKE"
I tried to install temp license from cmd prompt, but it says refuses and says no old or expired license found. I also tried to install the new license I applied for from SAP with new hardware key using saplicense -install ifile=license.txt and that failed as well.
For NW2004s, is it even possible to install a digital license using cmd prompt?

How do I find my old License Key?

I am trying to track down one of our old license keys for Crystal reports desktop designer V8.5.
We are running software which uses crystal reports to print out transmittals.
Due to a change in the company, the logo's on the reports need replacing. The only version of Crystal reports designer which is compatible is V8.5, which I have but the License for it was lost before I started working at this company.
Would there be a database where the keys are kept?

-Try to find from Registry Editor:
Click on Run->Type regedit ->
Expand Software folder->Crystal Decisions-> search for Keycodes
you can also try to log a incident for keycode:
For a new key:
Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials. Using these credentials you can login and click in the "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key.
If your Key code does not work
You need create a customer message https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ.

We are Using BO XI R3.1 SP3 Enterprise Version ,Integration Tool Kit For SAP,Live Office.
The Server is Linux Server.
But while generating reports in Infoview it is giving error like ""_check that you are licensed to access SAP Data Source_".
So we came to know that license Key might Expire for Integraton Tool Kit For SAP in Bo Server.
So can you tell me how to add the license key For BO XI R3.1 SP3 Integration Tool Kit For SAP in Linux Server.
