CSS buttons help

Hello,
I am so new at this but I created a button navigation bar using Dreamweaver CS4 and I created it using Spry.  At first the menu spilled over to a second row and I played around with the CSS settings and finally got it to a single row but it doesn't fill the entire length of the row.  I am also getting a gap between the banner and the body of my pages.  grrr...  How can I do this?

Thank You!

Have a look at this CSS Layout which is pretty close to what you're aiming for.

Note: No tables required.  Tables should be reserved for tabular data presentation such as charts & spreadsheets.

  • Centering CSS-buttons - Help from CSS Guru wanted

    Dear group,
    I created a site for a friend in which I wanted to do all the
    navigation
    with CSS-rollover-buttons. Actually it works fine until I try
    to center the
    buttons. For the buttons, which are located in the
    footer-section, there is
    no problem, they center fine?!
    So I thought to be clever by creating a container with the
    same attributes
    than the footer, in which I place the buttons. But to my
    surprise it didn't
    work. Trying to center the #wrapper didn't bring the wanted
    result. The
    navigation still stings to the left of the page.
    Now I have set the width from the container to 40%. But this
    is no solution
    and looks messy:-(
    Please have a look at:

    thank you for your advice. I changed the CSS as follows:
    #wrapper {
    margin:0 auto;
    width: 100%;
    text-align:center;
    #navfoto1 {
    margin: 5px auto;
    width: 300px;
    and left the html as it was. The result is much better than
    my solution,
    but doesn't center the buttons:-( With a width of 200px, the
    buttons (on
    pages with 3 buttons) are no longer displayed inline:-( On
    the German page
    you can see better, that the buttons will not center (maybe
    because the
    button texts are longer). And on the photoindex-page you see
    it the best.

  • CSS Buttons in Blog Module Template Help

    I am using css buttons for my social icons in my blog side bar. I have included the css stylesheet in the overall blog module template as well as well as the button text. The icons appear when I view the blog in list view, however when I try to view an individual post, the icons do not appear, just the button text.  The buttons work on all other web pages within BC as well. Thanks for any help

    Have you set the paths for your images and css as ... src="/images/" etc?
    In BC CSS, JS, images etc need to start with a forward slash to say "read from root".

    Is there a way to insert a CSS button like one that could be generated from this website into a Muse site that I'm creating?

    Hello,
    In Widget Library section, you have a State Button widget in composition.
    You can  use that button and apply different states/effects to it and  create a hyperlink to it.
    Hope this helps.

  • CSS Button Links in HTML email not working in TB

    Greetings,
    Our company is creating an html email for customers and we are noticing the CSS button links don't work when viewing in Thunderbird 31 and 32 beta.
    Does TB require unique coding to get these to work?
    Any assistance would be appreciated...
    -- Paul

    From the point of view of a user who views received email messages in Thunderbird, it doesn't support scripting. Straight links should work and and you can attach a link to an image.
    Note that Thunderbird does NOT offer active links in the Compose window. So however you create it, you won't see it as the recipient does unless you save it and view it as a draft.

  • How can i had CSS buttons i made with RAGE ButtonDesign to iweb?

    good day to you
    i have the RAGE ButtonDesign software that can make for me nice css buttons
    after i made the button i get 3 files : index.html , rage_style.css and the a png file
    how do i integrated this to my iweb site?

    You need to place html code that is produced into the html snippet on your website and click apply for any code to work on your site. An index.html page is no good to you, to be used in iWeb as iWeb has no import facility.
    Take your html code and place it in an html snippet and see what happens.

  • Custom Design With Squares as Buttons  - Help

    This may be a simple task, the method however is just bypassing me ... can anyone help please?
    I would like to design a page, with five interlocking squares of different sizes. It's not an even tessellation, therefore I am doing this in Illustrator, as I need the proportions to be exact. Then importing to Dreamweaver as one image.
    The thing is, I would like the squares to be buttons - more than just roll over 'hot spots'.  I would like each square to turn red, blue, yellow etc.
    How do I do that ?
    Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Cross browser CSS Buttons with background images

    Hi All,
    I have to make a button for a website in which the labels

    the problem is i need the buttons to work in almost all browsers
    (from version 5 - 7 IE, FF 1.0 -2.0, Opera 7 - 9 Netscape 6- 9,
    safari and Mac IE and FF), The buttons are also designed in a
    specific manner (i.e the button label will be having a break if
    there are two words in it and will be aligned center to the
    container. the edges of the button are curved and has a gradient
    effect.)
    I am not able to get the text centrally aligned also the text
    goes off the container and gets hidden behind the right side image
    in FireFox but in IE it manages to stretch the container but
    doesn't gets aligned to the center, thats because i guess i am
    specifying width to the container.
    Any Help will be highly appreciated.

  • CSS XML Help

    Hi i am trying to build a really simple banner that loads from an XML file. The idea was that the client wanted to be able to change things such as font colour, button colour, image links etc but the client would also like to alter the font or font family. I basically want to have a CSS inside the actionscript so that I can set the font family as a variable and change it via the xml. I think this is the best way to do it, or alternatively the client could just adjust an external CSS themselves. So far I have not got this to work and would greatly appreciate any help n loading in CSS in actionscript 2.0 as I have very little experience with it.
    Below is the actionscript I already have in place .
    1st Frame
    // Load XML
    var xmlItems = new Array();
    langXML = new XML();
    langXML.ignoreWhite = true;
    langXML.load('setup.xml');
    langXML.onLoad = function(sucess) {
            if (sucess) {
                    parseFile(langXML);
                    //trace(menuItems);
    play();
            } else {
    trace("XML problem!");
    function parseFile(xmlDoc_xml) {
            for (var a = 0; a<xmlDoc_xml.firstChild.childNodes.length; a++) {
    // push labels into Array
    xmlItems.push(xmlDoc_xml.firstChild.childNodes[a].firstChild.nodeValue);
    trace(xmlItems);
    Frame where content loads in :
    // init movie
    textTitle.text = xmlItems[0];
    textsubTitle.text = xmlItems[1];
    imageURL = xmlItems[2];
    // Create Varible for RGB colour reference
    titleColour = "0x" + xmlItems[3];
    trace("titleColour:" + titleColour);
    new Color(textTitle).setRGB(titleColour);
    subtitleColour = "0x" + xmlItems[4];
    trace("subtitleColour:" + subtitleColour);
    new Color(textsubTitle).setRGB(subtitleColour);
    clickURL = xmlItems[5];
    buttonColour = "0x"+ xmlItems[6]
    new Color(buttonBG).setRGB(buttonColour);

    to specify a font, you'll need to embed the font.  unless you embed all fonts your client may want to choose, you have a difficult task ahead of you:  dynamically embedding fonts in as2 is no easy task.
    you may have other problems but, that's the key to your issue.

  • Simple button help needed!

    I want to make a simple round button that glows when you
    mouse over it and depresses when you click it.
    Apparently to do this I need to use Filters to make the glow
    and bevels. But Filtersonly work on movie clips, buttons and text.
    So I make a circle and convert it into a button symbol
    (Btn1). Then I make another button symbol (Btn2) and use the first
    button symbol (Btn 1) on the Up Over and Down frames of Btn 2.
    Assorted Filters are applied to Btn 1 on the Up Over and Down
    frames to get the effects I want.
    I test the button (Btn2) using Enable Simple Buttons. It
    works perfectly - glows on mouse over and depresses on click. Then
    I try Test Movie -- and the button doesn't work!!!
    Not does it work when exported as a SWF file!!!
    I watched a tutorial video that came with my Flash Pro 8
    Hands-On-Training (HOT) book and he used pretty much the same
    technique -- except he only tested his button with Enable Simple
    Buttons. I'll bet my house his didn't work with Test Movie either!
    The stupid thing, is I was just able to achieve exactly what
    I wanted very quickly using LiveMotion 2!
    What is wrong here? Why is it so impossible to create a glow
    button in Flash? Why has it been easy in Live Motion for years?
    All help appreciated!
    Thanks
    craig

    I thought the nesting button situation might be the problem
    BUT there is no other way to apply Filters to Up, Down, etc. Also,
    a freaking tutorial book described that as a valid method, but
    obviously it ain't.
    I tried using movieclips as well but basically had the same
    problem.
    I mentioned LiveMotion 2 because that ancient program can do
    easily what Flash Pro 8 seems incapable of.
    What is the logic behind not allowing Filters to be applied
    to simple graphics? It's absurd!
    There's got to be a way...

  • Simple Button Help

    Hi
    I am new to flash and having a bit of trouble. All I would
    like to do is be able to create a button and have that button
    navigate to a frame.
    What I am doing now is:
    Insert - New Symbol - Button and name the button (ex: about)
    Go through the up/over/down/hit steps and return to scene 1
    I then drag the about button onto the stage
    I give the about button the instance name of about_btn
    In the action layer, I enter the following code:
    stop();
    _root.about_btn.onRelease = function(){
    gotoAndStop("about");
    "about" being the keyframe I would like to go to
    When I test the button, I get error 1120: "Access of
    undefined property onrelease".
    I am working on adobe flash cs3 on a pc. I know this is a
    very simple issue and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    what have you done so far? what don't you know how to do?
    where are you stuck at? need way more detail to help any
    further.
