CSS Load reporting to the GSS via KAL-AP

Question 1 :
When load calculation is enabled on the CSS, how does the CSS aggregate individual load values of each real service for transmission to the GSS ?
Question 2:
If we use the use a script on a management server that would gather server load information (typically CPU utilization) and then dynamically set the load value for each service, does the CSS aggregate these load values and transmit the result to the GSS via KAL-AP as well ?
Thank you
Yves

Yves,
this is the 2nd time you post this question and unfortunately I do not think you will get an answer.
It's a tough question because the load subject is not very well-known outside Cisco and even internally very few people now exactly how it works.
If this is really important for you, I would suggest to contact a Sales person at Cisco and ask him to research this information for you.
Regards,
Gilles.

  • CSM to GSS via KAL-AP: How to display vserver transitions ?

    Hi,
    I need to know how much time a CSM sent an Offline status for a VIP (vserver) to the GSS via KAL-AP. In other words, I want to see how match time a specific VIP reported a load = 255 to the GSS, because all real servers in the farm were unavailable or overloaded. With the command "show module csm 1 vserver name <Name>, I don't see this counter :
    PORTAL-PROD, type = SLB, state = OPERATIONAL, v_index = 30
    virtual = 160.213.139.14/32:26000 bidir, TCP, service = NONE, advertise = FALSE
    idle = 3600, replicate csrp = connection, vlan = ALL, pending = 30, layer 7
    max parse len = 4000, persist rebalance = TRUE
    ssl sticky offset = 0, length = 32
    conns = 0, total conns = 87
    Domains:
    PORTAL-PROD
    Is there another way to display this value on the CLI ?
    Thank you
    Yves Haemmerli

    I am reposting this question, because I am investigating why the GSS shows VIP transitions via KAL-AP, while there is no real servers failures...So, I would like to see a VIP (vserver) transitions counter on the CSM, in order to coorelate what the GSS says.
    Thank you for any hints,
    Yves Haemmerli

    What can I do to get back to a point that I can directly purchase Apps from my itouch via wi-fi. I was able to before I purchased an app on my PC and loaded it into the device via the sync cable. My itouch 2G was bought 2nd hand, so when trying to get Apple support I was unable to register my device because I didn't know it's original purchase date. Note: I am still able to download the apps to my computer and load/sync them into the device.

    Why can you not buy from the ipod?
    What happens when you try?
    Error message?
    What does it say?
    Any info?

    See the [Rules of Engagement|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/HOME/Rules%20of%20Engagement]
    What version of Crystal Reports are you using?
    Visual studio version you have?
    Have you applied any servcie pack?
    Is this on your development computer or on a deployed computer?
    If on a deployed system, how was the CR runtime installed to that system?

  • Load report failed: The device is not ready [COMException (0x80004005)]

    Hi,
    In a deployed machine with the lastest Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 runtimes (Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 - Redist Install - Refresh) (it also happens with olders versions) I'm having the following problem:
    <SEE THE POST BELOW>
    This is a simple application that has a form with a button and one Crystal Reports Viewer. Pressing the button loads a report from the disk that uses a .xml datasource.
    What does the "device is not ready" means?
    I've checked the temporary files, the user has administrative rights, the form loads correctly the crystal report viewer.
    The operative system is Windows XP.
    Any clues of what it can be? In others computers it works just fine.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Wrong Load reporting via KAL-AP form CSM to GSS

    When multiple virtual servers are configured on the same VIP (each using another TCP port), the CSM averages all the CAPP load values when reporting the final CAPP load to the GSS.
    Unfortunately, when a redirect vserver is configured on the same VIP (i.e to redirect the user to another TCP port), the CAPP load value sent to the GSS is wrong. This is due to the fact that the redirection vserver has always a load value of 2! Therefore, even if all real servers of the server farm are down, the reported load value to the GSS is (255 + 2) / 2 = 128 instead of 255 (offline).
    Why does the CSM take a redirection server farm into account when reporting the load value to the GSS ? What would be a work-around ?

    Hi Gilles,
    Thank you for your suggestion. I configured KAL-AP by Tag now, but the two VIP answers configured on the GSS remain in offline state. I didn't found any description on how to configure the counterpart tag string in the CSM vserver configuration (I suppose that the same tag must be configured on the GSS and on the CSM ?)
    Can you help me ?

  • Load report Failed, COMExpection: System cannot find the path specified

    Interesting problem:
    I have an application that runs on a web server (currently running it as simple test application to make solving this easier). We use a BO XI report to load data from the DB via a stored proc, then run an ExportToStream to get CSV data to return to the caller.
    It all works well as long as I run the application under the NT Account logged into the Box (W2k3, R2). But when using a different account (it's a domain admin account), it fails with the following error:
    System.Exception: Load report Failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): The system cannot find the path specified.
    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClienDoc.ReportClientDocumentClass.Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options)
    at CyrstalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename, OpenReportMethod openMethod).
    The report is located on a file drive the openMethod is OpenReportByTempCopy. The Temp directory for the user (landes) exists on the box, all things seem to be in place.
    Anybody know that path is specified and how to overcome this?
    Thanks

    Will it be possible to check this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SOFTWARE\Suite 11or11.5\Report Application Server\InprocServer\LocalConnectionMgr and verify if the ConnectionDirectoryPath is set to something like C:\ ?
    If not, set to C:\ and see how it goes after running your app.

  • Error when adding an Object to the server via CMS

    I am trying to upload a new report to the server via CMS.
    I click on Objects > Browse for the report > Click Submit
    After a few seconds, I get the following error:
    There was an error while writing data back to the server: File Repository Server error : File system operation for frs://Input.reportingdb/a_068/047/000/12100/172659d5862b3e2.rpt on File Repository Server failed. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator for event log information.
    I can see that the Input.reportingdb server is running
    I have tried restarting the physical server that CRE XI R2 is running on.
    I have restarted the Tomcat as well as all of the report servers via ccm.sh and enabled all of the report servers via ccm.sh

  • Load Report Failed Error

    LOAD REPORT ERROR
    We are working on the Crystal Reports version 2008 sp3 (12.0) with windows application. When the user tries to open more than 75 reports, this error is occurring. Please give us suggestion to resolve this issue.
    We have tried following Code changes.
    1.In Registry Settings Job Limit i changed to  -1
    2.Released all the report document objects once report generated.
    ReportDocument.Close();
    ReportDocument.Dispose();
    3.GC.Collect();
    GC.Collect();
    GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
    GC.Collect();
    Eventhough still i am getting error like "Load Report Failed"
    "The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached."
    Once Report document objects are reached 75.how to decrese it?(without closing application)
    How can we resolve this issue.Any other suggestion are there for decreasing report document objects in crystal Engine.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks in Advance.

    There are two distinct concepts to consider:
    1) Concurrent Processor License (CPL)
    The CR engine is limited to 3CPL meaning that 3 concurrent reports can be processed by the report engine. Subsequent requests are queued up and processed as a license becomes available (in the event viewer you may see messages along the lines of;  job x submitted, waiting y seconds for available license).  The .close and .dispose methods free up memory taken up processing a report. Not doing so, increases memory used until there is no more memory to be had, leading to issue such as loading of reports, unstable computers and crashes.
    2) Print Job
    A Print Job is defined as almost any job a report is requested to do. E.g.; paging is a Print Job, Zooming, subreport, etc. One report could have 75+ print jobs associated with it simply by putting a subreport into a detail section which contains 75+ records and the subreport runs per each record. I suspect this is where your issue lies. There is a way to increase the number of print jobs, however the engine is optimized for this number and increasing it may lead to unanticipated consequences. See the article [Crystal Reports Maximum Report Processing Jobs Limit|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/f053713e-3e3d-2c10-2a81-f79259e54023]. One note on the above article. I mention that setting the value to 0 essentially removes the limit. While that is true in certain cases, doing so is playing with fire....
    One other article to take note of is [Troubleshooting the error; Load Report Failed|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d02f7cd3-f18b-2d10-55ad-dab2200f68fc]

  • Trying to dynamically load CSS for project at compile time via config XML file to select CSS file.

    I'm using the same code base to compile different versions of a project. Each project has different base fonts. I've created multiple css files that use the same style names. The idea being that in the code I reference the style names, then the loaded CSS determines which font (and size, color, etc) is used for each style name.
    The CSS files are compiling to SWFs, and those SWFs are referenced in config.xml files. Before compiling, I select the config file to use.
    I am loading the CSS SWF files via the StyleManager in the Application.mxml, like so:
      styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations( _contentData.elements( 'cssPath' ).@path )
    The path traces out correctly as:
    assets_embed/styles/project2.swf
    For some reasone I must include an fx:Style line in the Application.mxml file or no fonts are recognized. Example:
      <fx:Style source="assets_embed/styles/project1.css"/>
    If I reference the css for project one (as done above) then most, but not all, styles work. Some styles reference the fonts from the project 1 css, others properly use fonts from project 2 swf. If I point to the CSS for the project I'm compiling in the <fx:Style > tag then all fonts work, but that defeats the goal of using XML rather than code to identify the styles.
    So, why do I need the fx:Style line if the css is being loaded via StyleManager?
    Why is there "cross talk" between style definitions?
    Is there a better way to select styles at compile time?

    I read this quickly so I might have missed a detail.  I think your describing an issue with recent Flex releases that is described in the fine print somewhere.  If you don't have any fonts embedded in the main app and are only bringing in fonts embedded in CSS SWFs, you have to force-link the EmbeddedFontRegistry by adding something like this to the main app's script block.
    import mx.core.EmbeddedFontRegistry; EmbeddedFontRegistry;
    (Yes, "EmbeddedFontRegistry" is in there twice, once to define the fully qualified name, the other to create a class dependency to force the linking).

    Hi Venkat,
    At present, there is no standard functionality available in SAP NetWeaver 2004s BW/BOBJ that offers this integration and automation.But you can do it as given in following link

  • On my MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks.

    On my new MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks. This also happens on a website editor. But, when I am connected to the internet via Wifi, everything load properly. This is my work computer, so I have to be able to connect through the Ethernet cable to access everything. Please help me!

    I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.

  • Viewing HFR reports in the same window via task list url link

    Does anyone know how to render an HFR report inside the Planning application or even in Workspace when referencing the report's url through task list? This is with version 11.1.1.3. It doesn't seem like this version allows the task list to be built to pull up the report within the Planning application window, or even as a separate Workspace tab. I also want to be able to switch from pdf or html preview when viewing the report, but this option isn't allowed when opening the report via task list. A separate pop up appears for the report, which isn't what I want.
    Anyone know of a fix or workaround?

    This sounds like part of your issue :-
    9549216 - Instead of a new tab, a new window displays after you create a Financial Reporting task in Workspace.
    Fixed in patch 11.1.1.3.02
    Cheers
