CSS Properties - Show Set Greyed/Grayed Out

I bought the book from Adobe Dreamweaver CC and am on chapter 3 about CSS. The tutorial advises at one point to click "Show Set" on. However, on my Mac 10.8.x system the check box is greyed out. Can't toggle on or off.
Anyone know where the problem may be?

Hi David,
The show set checkbox is enabled only if a selector is seected .
i.e : When you inspect i.e click a particular element in the Design Surface the CSS Designer panel would display the Computed list of properties. Notice that the Show set box would be grayed out here , because the properties dispalyed are the computed ones and do not belog to a particular selector.
When you click on any selector in the Selectors pane , the Show set checkbox will get enabled. Jsut make sure you are not seeing the computed list of properties to have the Show Set checkbox enabled.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync/delete all podcasts and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Privacy/Photos setting is grayed out

I wish to enable an app to have access to the photos on my iPad 3rd gen IOS6. However, the setting for Privacy/Photos is all grayed out not allowing me to turn any app on for sharing. I'm clueless. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Jim

Thanks for your reply Paul. I have not yet reinstalled FCP. To reiterate the issue, I can't get video to play back properly in Final Cut - not in the viewer or the canvas. It seems to be locked on the dynamic setting, with "High" greyed out. Now I never paid much attention to this in the past, as video - up until a kernel panic I suffered a couple days ago - has always played just fine. But I'm assuming my problem is related to the dynamic vs high setting. Maybe I'm wrong. If this is the case, from what I've been reading, does that mean my computer suddenly feels overloaded and is forcing FCP to play at a lower quality? If so, I'm leery about going to the trouble of removing, then reinstalling FCS. Could it be an issue with my RAM? Hardware testing (w the Apple install disc) found nothing wrong. What is it then???

TS1559 My Iphone 4S with the latest software, wifi setting is grayed out. Could not be resolved even after restore software in Itune.

It sounds like you may have tried all the steps in the article below. If your wi-fi setting is still grayed out after trying the steps, the article suggests contacting Apple support for help with your iPhone hardware:

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.

'Show in Finder' grayed out.

Aperture 3.5.1 is running in Mavericks and using managed libraries. I notice that the option to Show in Finder is grayed out as well as Show in Project
I've rebuilt the library database but that has not solved the problem.

"Locate referenced files " will also only work for referenced files. You are right, it should be graded out for a managed Aperture library.
Iirc, "Locate Referenced Files" is ignorant. It only knows that none of the selected Images has a referenced Original after you run the command. That's why, afaict, the command is available even when the selection contains no Images that have referenced Originals.

CS6 Applications all show update as grayed out

Hello all:
After a major system update of my 2010 Mac Pro 12-core where I have two startup drives (one with Lion and the other Yosemite), I did a complete uninstall of CS6 master collection applications on both drives. Upon doing the reinstall successfully on Lion without problem other than serial number issues (ultimately solved), when I did it on the Yosemite drive, ultimately only Acrobat (which updates alone) could update. All other applications on Yosemite have the 'update" as grayed out. Any ideas anyone?

Hello, it sounds like you have the Desktop selected, not an open Finder Window selected, this is what shows if no Finder Window is highlighted, or if just using the Find "Window", you need a Real Finder Window open or click on icon in sidebar...

"show chat participants" grayed out

Once I have a chat going, "show chat participants" is grayed out, so I can't add anyone. I'm using version 4.0.3 Anyone encountered this? any solutions? (I'm NOT attempting a Bonjour chat. )
BTW, why isn't there an iChat 4 discussion category when there is one fore version 3?

The only way to do that is to Start a Group chat first (in iChat 4)
I seem to remember that in Tiger you could make a chat a group chat by Dragging others to it.
The regular posters in the various iChat discussions have had conversations with the Hosts over this issue.
It seems, so I understand we were told, that it has to do with the older iChat forums being somewhat of an oddity as far as the Layout of all the forums are concerned as it is not hardware or a Pro App.
Another issue appears to be how and where new Categories and the forums associated with them are added. We seem to have been told that a new forum can not be added under the current Discussion Software to an Existing category.
We have suggested that a Category announcement like this one is added
As this appears in iChat 2 & Earlier and iChat 3 above the Topic List as well.

When I downloaded new photos, they showed up as grayed out areas, without any photo there, just the gray spaces shown where a photo should be.

I downloaded a bunch of photos, but instead of them showing in each space, they were all grayed out, NO photos were shown, just blank gray spaces,where each photo should be, this has just started to happen the last month or so.

Click this little triangle and choose Reset Tool from the popout menu:

Switch user greyed / grayed out

I have two accounts on my A665-S5173 laptop, but when I go to Start > Sleep the Switch user option is greyed / grayed (depending on your spelling preference) out. Clearly logging off to switch users is undesirable so I appreciate any help to get this to work.

Remove the .txt extension so that it becomes: Add_All_Switch_User.reg
Double-click the file in Windows Explorer and answer Yes that you wish to modify the registry.

Slide Show "MANUAL" Sorting grayed out???

Why is the Manual option on the SlideShow sorting drop down grayed out?
I want to re-arrange the slides in the show manually but can't. All the other options are available and there's nothing I can find in the manual.
Thank goodness I figured out how to display the SlideShow Editor by pressing "V" until it appeared, or I'd still be hunting that down.

There is no manual option until images have been manually sorted. Grab a thumbnail and move it to a different position to change the order. Then Manual will be selected.
After that if you change to sort by say Date then switch back to Manual, it will remember the manual order you created.

No camera icon on the lock screen, and the setting is grayed out?

I got my S4 a few days ago, and I've been setting it up, finding my comfort zone with widgets and app icons and so forth. I note that I'm supposed to be able to launch the camera app directly from the lock screen, but the option under Setting, My Device, Lock Screen, Lock Screen Widgets for "Favorite apps or Camera" is turned off and grayed out. Is this option only available if I disable secure locking, i.e. allow anyone who picks up the phone to use any function without face recognition, PIN, pattern, or password? Or is it disabled by some other setting I haven't found?

Right, I found that. Unfortunately, I can't readily switch back and forth between "no security" and "face unlock", because all my "improve face recognition" seems to be lost when I set any other security method; the phone returns to not recognizing me every time the light changes or I put on my hat or I wear my safety glasses at work. Given I don't want just anyone who picks up my phone to be able to use all functions (i.e. spend my money on apps, burn up my data plan, etc.), I'll have to settle for being required to unlock before I can take a picture.

HT1386 Cant sync apps between itunes library and computer...apps show up but grayed out

When trying to sync apps from itunes to ipad they appear grayed out and you can't select them. *confused

1. on the pad, settings, general / restrictions. make sure that is not on.
2. if you have multiple devices syncing from the same computer, make sure you have the correct on indicated in the leftside navigation pane of I tunes.

Why is my column browser greyed/grayed out in iTunes 11??

Since upgrading to iTunes 11 I haven't been able to get the column browser back to how I had it previously. I want to have a genre column and an artist column, but the column browser options are greyed out for me.
Any tips?

OK, I'm not ashamed to back down from my initial shock and awe about the new iTunes. I also discovered the simple fix for column browsing that thomaselsted eloquently describes, and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt on the rest, as it has often proved to be true that climbing up the learning curve on a new piece of software or hardware can be rewarding.
However, Apple please note:
To column browse albums, etc. requires extra steps/clicks, because you have to get out of album view, for instance, go to songs view, turn on columns view, and take it from there. Not good.
When playing radio stations. the mini viewer does not show the current song.
Getting in and out of mini viewer is now also a multi-step process.
Those sorts of things need to be fixed, because adding features should subtract needed user involvement, not add to it!
Reserving my final judgement, which I am sure puts Apple into a stark terror mode.
