CSW: Filtered Google Images still appearing with HTTPS Inspect configured

Hi,
I'm currently testing https Inspect to close a hole in the Google Images search.
I was under the impression that https inspect would not display any images that are in the a blocked category.
I have a CSW created certificate installed on the PC I'm testing on which I see as being accepted.  If I delete the cert from the PC, then I can't get to google (via https) as the cert is not accepted.
However, with the cert running on the PC, images are not being filtered within a Google search.  It's not practical for us to change to a "safesearch on" policy and was under the impression that https inspect would indeed filter the images, but it's not.  I've tested on some images that they are blocked as if I click the "visit site" or "view image" links, then I get the blocked page.
Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks
Craig

Thanks for the answer, but that's crazy, it didn't used to be like that before Google forced https on everyone.
I can't see how safe search can be enforced?  I know it can be done on at DNS, but that doesn't help our field users who connect to their own/public wifi.  Even when they are VPN'd, we use split tunnelling so that won't work either.
Seems a real limitation of CWS that you cannot simply manipulate URLs or make custom suffix's?  Or can you?
Our contract is up later this year and with all the issues we've had lately combined with it not being a very powerful solution, I suspect we'll be looking elsewhere.

  • Toying with https inspection. Do access lists now have to be in decryption policies?

    Hello,
I am toying with https inspection.  I am wondering now with the WCCP redirect from the firewall for https on two of our test IP's (before rolling it in production), if I need to basically duplicate all of my Access Policies on the Decrypt Policies.  Is Access Policies just for http websites and Decrypt Policies just for https websites, or am I wrong?
Lets say you want facebook blocked.  In Access Policies it is blocked by default, unless you fall into an upper category like AD group Management for example.  Well facebook has both an http and an https (now increasingly more common) site.  So could they just circumvent this block by typing in https?  They can do that now (since were not inspecting https), but we want to put a stop to that.
I tested and put drop for social networking but we just get a page cannot be displayed then on our test machine.  We don't even get redirected to our server hosting the "you are blocked" page.

Ok so its fine to have a global decription policy that has everything set to monitor, and just continue to let the access policy do all the work?
At least if you "hit" on an access policy, the WLC forwards us to our customized block page.  In decryption policy if you hit drop, quite understandably so you just get a page cannot be displayed (since it is dropped of course).
When would the "decrypt" option be a good idea?

  • "Removed" images still appear in MobileMe gallery online

    1. Made a MobileMe gallery in Aperture
    2. Published it. Gallery appears OK on MobileMe.
    3. In Aperture, removed two images from album (Right-click->Remove From Album)
    4. Sync from Aperture, expecting images to disappear from MobileMe online
    5. Pictures that were removed appear again in Aperture
    6. Remove pictures again, re-sync, multiple times
    7. Removed pictures finally stay gone in Aperture, but are still on MobilMe
How do I delete them from the online gallery?
    Thanks.

I haven't experienced this, but you can always go delete them on the sever side. e.g., logon to the Mobile Me site and delete them from the gallery there. It does sounds like a temporary syncing glitch as mentioned above.

  • N97: Deleted images still appear as thumnails

I deleted some images and videos from my N97 using the Mass Memory connection via my PC.
They are definitely gone from the phone, however they are still showing up in the photo app on the phone. When I click on the thumbnail of a photo, I even get  a detailed view, but after trying to zoom in the photo app crashes. I can't delete the image, the error message says "general system error".
For videos that show up in the photo app, when I select them it says "Unable to connect to server: File not found".
Also, trying to delete the thumbnail results in the same general error.
    Any solutions?
    Thanks,
    MB
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try this...  Connect your N97 using Mass Storage mode.  If you have Windows, open up the drive associated with the N97 under My Computer.  Before going anywhere, make sure you have your Windows Explorer set to show hidden files as well.  Go to Tools > Folder Options > View.  Somewhere in there you'll see a branch called "Hidden files and folders".  Select "Show hidden files and folders".  Hit Apply and Ok.
Now, you'll see in your mass storage drive a folder called "Private".  Open Private > 101ffc31.  Then delete glxmdstn.  Unplug your phone, and re-open your Photos app.  See if that helps.  (Weird thing is that even if you use Y-browser and have it signed with the full 17-capability certificate, the Y-browser still can't see this Private folder!  So no use trying to find the folder or file in Y-browser.)
Caveat:  There is a slight bug with the N97.  If you have apps installed to the built-in bigger drive, while connected in mass storage mode, all your apps installed there will disappear, as if you lost your apps.  Not to worry, that's because in mass storage mode, the phone OS is prevented from accessing that internal drive.  Once you unplug the USB cable, everything will go back to normal.  This is not a bug, but the bug is this:
If you have your Messaging app set to store messages in this internal drive ("E: mass memory"), then after unplugging the phone, your Messaging app will seem like you have lost all your text messages and mailboxes.  Before you freak out, do not try to rebuild your mailboxes.  The data is still in the internal drive.  Simply go to the Messaging app > Options > Settings > Other and change the "Memory in use" back to "E: Mass memory".  Go back to your Messaging app, and all your SMS and mailboxes and emails will be back there.  The only thing is that if you have the email widget set in your home screen, then you'll have to choose a default Mailbox again.  This is an annoying bug...
If the above solution helps, I wouldn't mind the kudos.  ;-)

  • "Insufficient data for an image" still occurs with Adobe Reader 11.0.02

    Hello,
I have upgraded to Adobe Reader 11.0.02 although I still recieve the "Insufficient data for an image" error when viewing some PDF files.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Steve

This message only comes up when editing.
I've been trying to recreate different scenarios and it seems that it is constantly happening when I delete a page and try to save the PDF.  After deleting a page, when I try to save I get this:
When I try to close out it lets me save but then viewing the PDF I get this:
When this happens, we are missing signatures or chunks of texts above the signatures, or even whole pages of text.
We have never had this issue before and we do edit PDF's all the time.

  • Problem with HTTP inspection.

    Hi,
I would like to find a way to give access to one website ( let say cisco.com ), give access to whatever website that have the word "test" in the URL and block the access to all the other websites for only one server ( let say the_server ).
Here the config I have now :
    regex cisco.com "\.cisco\.com"
    regex test "test"
    regex all ".*"
access-list acl_test extended permit tcp object GLOUBIER any eq www
    class-map inside-test
    match access-list acl_test
    class-map type inspect http match-all http_url_filtering_test
match request header host regex cisco.com
    class-map type inspect http match-all http_url_filtering_test2
    match request uri regex test
    class-map type inspect http match-all http_url_filtering_test3
match request header host regex all
    policy-map type inspect http http_url_inspection_test
    parameters
    class http_url_filtering_test
      log
    class http_url_filtering_test2
      log
    class http_url_filtering_test3
    drop-connection
    policy-map inside-policy
    class inside-test
      inspect http http_url_inspection_test
Those rules aren't working ( everything is blocked ), but if I'm try each class-map individualy, it's working fine.
Is there a way to make the 3 rules ( allow cisco.com, allow word test in URL, block the rest ) work together ?
Thanks for the answers and help.

    Hello,
I would suggest flipping your logic around to drop everything that doesn't match your allowed requests like this:
regex cisco.com "cisco\.com"regex test "test"!access-list acl_test extended permit tcp object GLOUBIER any eq www !class-map inside-test   match access-list acl_test!class-map type inspect http match-all filter-class   match not request header host regex cisco.com   match not request uri regex test!policy-map type inspect http filter-policy   parameters   class filter-class      drop-connectionpolicy-map inside-policy   class inside-test      inspect http filter-policy
That makes the config a bit more manageable and should do what you are looking for.

  • Camera icon does not appear when use Google Image Search

    Hello,
I am working on a much older macbook pro (2006) running OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10.
Just the other day I reinstalled Safari, as some things appeared to not be working properly. However, there was nothing wrong with Google. SInce then, when I try to search by Google Image, the camera icon does not appear in the search bar. I have tried reinstalling Safari twice, but nothing changes. I have checked in Firefox and it shows up as expected.
I have cleared the cache, deleted cookies, and cleared browser history. None of these steps have produced any changes.
Also, I seem to have reverted to some earlier version of Google, since the search tools now appear on the top left, as show below.
Can you please assist me in sorting this out so that Safari and Google perform as expected.
    Thank you very much.
    Val

I posted that work around on the google forums and it actually came from the Apple forums from users 'Society Girl' and refined by 'spiza' from this thread.
    Google Reverted to Old Layout
I called a friend at a tech magazine and he *cough* unofficially* cough* said via contacts it was a very deliberate move by Google... nothing to do with their upgrades or a hack coincidentally not working as a by product with old browsers.
    oh boy...
'Google flushes out users of old browsers by serving up CLUNKY, AGED version of search'
'Ad giant: Yeah, we did that deliberately'
In a separate thread, as spotted by a Reg reader who brought this sorry affair to our attention, user MadFranko008 was able to show that even modern browsers - including the current version of Chrome - were apparently spitting out glitches on Apple Mac computers.
Google then appeared to have resolved the search "bug" spotted in Chrome.
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/08/31/google_search_browser_support/
    and on the BBC website...
Google 'discourages' users of old browsers
Google has started showing old versions of its search page to people using out-of-date versions of some web browsers.
The problem was most pronounced among those using variants of Safari 5.1 and Opera 12.
A Google message posted to the forum said the change was made to "encourage" people to upgrade their browser
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29012038
Google and Apple are not the best of friends...
I expect this will run a little longer

  • I don't have access to Google Images Search since I installed the latest update for https everywhere (today)

I have installed the https everywhere add-on a while ago.
Since I've done this I've never been able to click on images each time I was doing a Google search from their first page of results ("search everything"), but I could still find images by going directly to Google Images search.
Since I installed the latest update for https everywhere this morning, I simply cannot search a single image with Google, which is a problem as I'm a professional art historian.
I get the message"Your search - rembrandt - could not be completed with the requested search options. Reset search tools".
But resetting the search tools don't change anything. I'm working on a Mac, if it helps.

I had the same problem although it was a previous update rather than this one that caused the problem. Just hadn't got round to doing something about it - was using Bing images instead.
I searched for some answers this morning and seemed like most suggestions were a nuisance to try. Couldn't find 'Preferences button of HTTPS-Everywhere' as suggested above. Decided to check if No Script was blocking it. Sure enough. So problem is solved.
Thought I'd put it out there in case it helps someone else. Appreciate that people are so helpful on here.

  • I am using Aperture 3 now and I love it. But I would like to purchase or download perhaps some freeware, easy to use photo imaging/editing software with more filters, perhaps layering etc. My Apple mentor suggests Pixelmator or Gimp ?

I am using Aperture 3 now and I love it. But I would like to purchase or download perhaps some freeware, easy to use photo imaging/editing software with more filters, perhaps layering etc. I don't want something with a very steep learning curve, getting to old for that. My Apple mentor suggests Pixelmator or Gimp ? Are there some others out there? When I was still in the Windows world, I used Photoshop Elements but that is now in my past. Any ideas?

Pixelmator or Gimp are both nice tools for advanced image processing and compositing. I.e. Gimp can do pretty much the same as Phtoshop. You might also have a look at digikam  http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download/binary
Digikam is not just an advanced image processing and compositing program, it is also content management system like Aperture or iPhoto.
I also find GraphicConverter a nice tool, but it is not free.
If you want your image editing tools to integrate well with Aperture, I would look first at the available plug-ins, start with the plug-ins offered in the Aperture pull-down menu
    Aperture -> Aperture Plug-ins...

  • Help with removing images from Google image searches with Dreamweaver

I made a sight in dreamweaver, and need to remove a page from that website with some old images. So I removed the link and moved the webpage from the root folder. And If I go into dreamweaver the page is blank showing the image has been removed.
But the images are still showing up in google image searches even though I removed them in dreamweaver and re-uploaded the sight successfully. How do I remove them form the internet completely so they no longer show up in google images??

Once something is on the Internet, it remains so.  That is why people (mainly children) are always advised not to post anything that they may come to regret in a few years time when you are looking for jobs and your potential employer does a background search on you.

  • My iPhone caller image is still appearing full screen instead of in the right-hand corner, even though I've assigned the images to them on my mac.

I had originally assigned images to my contacts through my iPhone which made them appear full screen when recieving/making a call, but now I want the images to appear in the top-right corner. I've assigned all new photos to override the old photos through my Address Book on my Mac, but they still continue to be full screen. Can anybody please explain to me what's going on? I'm an intermediate-advanced user. Thanks!

You did not try what I provided. There is a difference between syncing and replacing.
As with MobileMe, there should be an option with iCloud to replace info on cloud with what is available in the Address Book - all at once. This may not make any difference in this regard.

    Hi gajanan vasant!
I have a couple of articles for you that should help you troubleshoot your issue with Safari. First, you may want to try a reset on Safari by following the procedure listed in this article:
Safari 5.1 (OS X Lion): Reset Safari
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH5043
If you are still having issues after resetting Safari, you may want to check out this article about third-party add-ons in Safari:

This is a image of the ipod already restore, and everytime looks like that!

If restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod dow not solve the problem you likely have a hardware problem.  In that case either make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare.  If defective, Apple will replace your iPod at no cost.

  • No images appear with Windows 7 x64 Professional with IE9 any solution?

Embedded Flash Player images only appear as brief flashes when using IE9 running under Windows 7 x64 Professional and Flash Player version 13.  Flash Player has full permission to present these images but I only get these brief flashes of individual frames.  Seems to be true of any web-based software than embeds such Flash Player images.

Yes - but that doesn't have anything at all to do with it. If you don't have it working in Soundbooth correctly either, then I'm afraid that you have the same problem as others have related with W7 - it really doesn't work in the way you want it to with some internal sound hardware. So for a lot of people, pretty much useless, unless you use an adequately suoported external audio device. As far as any of us can tell, this has something to do with M$ paranoia about copyright, or some other such nonsense - I have to say that the real reason for all this trouble some people are having is less than clear, but it's certainly not Audition's fault - the software can only deal with what the sound device is prepared to hand over, or accept back.
I think that what it might be related to is an attempt to stop you playing streaming material from one site, and recording it directly onto other software via 'what you hear' inputs - which works excellently with AA1.5 and XP, and is something I do quite legitimately from time to time (think Skype...)
You could try asking Realtek what's going on, I suppose - that might be interesting. If you get any sort of intelligent reply, please report back!
