CTI faild to login when using IP Communicator (Softphone)

hi all,
CTI V7.0 faild to login when using IP Communicator (Softphone 0.2.0.6) and get CTR Warning Error:
IPCC Error [12005]login could not be performed...(see attached)
Anyone with any ideas?
Greetings,
Zak

Hope your resolved by now if not some ideas.
try configuring and connecting your device first.
When IP phone is all set with ACD service then try again.
Goodluck.

  • Need to enter password twice to login (when using lightdm)

    Hi!
I need to enter my password twice before I can login (note that I need to enter it correctly both times). After the first time, the screen goes blank for a second and then returns to the login screen.
I'm using the latest versions lightdm 1:1.10.1-2 and lightdm-gtk2-greeter 1:1.8.4-2 (and I'm logging into an Xfce session).
The relevant part of /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log is:
[+11.38s] DEBUG: Session pid=345: Started with service 'lightdm', username 'test'
[+14.95s] DEBUG: Session pid=313: User test authorized
    [+15.03s] DEBUG: Session pid=345: Running command /etc/lightdm/Xsession startxfce4
    [+15.04s] DEBUG: Session pid=345: Logging to .xsession-errors
[+15.29s] DEBUG: Session pid=345: Exited with return value 0
[+15.71s] DEBUG: Seat: Active display server stopped, starting greeter
[+15.71s] DEBUG: Seat: Creating greeter session
This shows that the sessions quits after .26 seconds after running and returns to the greeter. The second time I log in it appears to work fine.
I have already reported this bug to the lightdm development team (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1333538), but I'm thinking that it might be an Arch-specific issue. My ~/.xsession-errors contains many lines stating that xfdesktop is trying to start, but it is already running:

The problem does not occur when using GDM instead of lightdm. I'm grateful for any hints that point me in the right direction to solve this issue - thanks!

This happens on all of my school's Ubuntu 12.04 computers and has for two years.

  • Performance Impact When Using SNC Communication

    Hello,
Does anybody know if and how much performance impact there is if we use SNC for communication between the SAP Server and SAPGUI?
I think there are two areas that may be impacted; Network and server CPU.
For network load, I did find a part in "Front-End Network Requirements for SAP Business Solutions" document saying "overhead of roughly 350 bytes per user interaction step" but it does not specify the type of encryption.  I wonder if there is any other info on this?
For CPU impact, how much overhead should I consider for sapgui access?
I see no field for this in the quicksizer and I can't seem to find any white papers on this subject.
    Thank you in advance.

Let me know, if you need help finding it. My contact information is in my SDN business card.
Just so Kan is clear - It is not legal to use the SAP cryptolib provided by SAP for SNC between SAP GUI and SAP servers, so if x.509 is the desired mechanism you need to purchase additional software from the company which Peter works for to provide SAP GUI SNC-based SSO. I think instead, Kan might be using the free SAP supplied SNC Kerberos library, which is why I asked him to confirm this in my last post. I doubt he is interested to buy any third party software.
    > As to the performance discussion: first of all, yes, there will be a small performance impact if SNC is used (no matter which type or implementation), but from our experience with many actual SNC implementations, I can state that this is practically not relevant. It is not noticeable by users. There were never any performance discussions with customers. See also SAP Note 1043694.
I agree with this - the performance impact is not noticed by users, but the system managers who look after the servers where SAP is installed, and the team responsible for the network need to be aware of any differences (if any) when SNC is turned on and when SNC is turned off. I think this is why Kan is asking these questions, not because he is concerned about users noticing any difference when they logon to SAP.
    > Just a first quick comment on certain statements above: Tim's arguments for proving his overall statement are not conclusive from my perspective. Nor do I think his overall statement itself is correct.
The facts I mentioned are well known facts, e.g. symmetric crypto is far better from performance point of view than asymmetric. I know the examples I have shown which I found when doing a quick google search were not conclusive, but they were shown as initial examples, not necessarily the best examples. This is why I specifically mentioned that if you search in google yourself you will see many more references where comparisons are done between Kerberos (e.g. symmatric) compared with PKI (e.g. asymmetric).
    > First of all, he only selects one aspect of performance - CPU impact of encryption algorithms.
No, I didn't. Some of the examples I referred to also discuss other differences. I also mentioend other differences such as memory and what protection level is used when configuring SNC.
    > But for a true comparison, you'd have to look at all relevant aspects (latency, network overhead, ...).
Yes, I agree. No doubts here.
    >Network performance overhead is usuallly worse with Kerberos than with PKI.
This is not true. When SAP is using SNC, the GSS-API standard is used and so the only network communication involves SAP software sending a standard GSS token from the workstation to the SAP server, and this GSS token is often about the same size, regardless of which mechanism is used, so any network performance differences are not related to the mechanism, but more related to the complexity of the cryptography used on each end (mostly on the server side).
    >Second, you need to look at the specific usage scenario. For example, the first report referenced by Tim is an analysis about different Token Profile mechanism for WS Security, for one specific implementation. This does not allow to draw any conclusion for the SNC use case in general, and for sure not for a specific implemenation. It does not take the overhead for the encryption of the message content into account. Third, Tim associates PKI exclusively with asymmetric encryption. Yes, it is well known that asymmetric algorithms are slower than symmetric ones, but it is also well known that the encryption of the message content (by far the majority of the data) happens with symmetric encryption algorithms in the PKI scenario. With PKI-based SNC, you can even select a symmetric algorithm and use a more performant one that the ones that Kerberos prescribes.
Kerberos works with many different symmetric algorithms as well, so mentioning that the alg is selectable is not relavent to any comparison.
    > To summarize, I will try and collect facts that will support the opposite point of view. From our practical experience, the performance overhead is not relevant, and criteria like consistency with SAPcryptolib, strength of security, ease of administration, choice of authentication and encryption mechanism, etc. are much more important.

  • Facebook app on Iphone wont login when using 3G

I have been having an issue with my Iphone 4 facebook app for a few days. When I try to login to the app or facebook mobile via Safari while using 3G is keeps taking me back to login screen. When I am connected to wi-fi, it works just fine. My username and password are correct and I have tried deleting the app and re-installing as well as restarting the phone and nothing works. I am not sure if its a software issue. Has this happnened to anyone else and if so, any ideas why and how to fix?
    Thanks!

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
A SIM card contains its unique serial number, internationally unique number of the mobile user (IMSI), security authentication and ciphering information, temporary information related to the local network, a list of the services the user has access to including usernames and paswords.
Try this... tap Safari on your iPhone. Navigate to that FB page you referred to. Try logging in that way using your username and password manually.

I have three Macs, let's call them A, B, C, all running Snow Leopard. My main Mac is A. I have screen sharing set up on the other two Macs and until yesterday it worked fine. Now, I can still see B's screen from A as usual. But when I try to see C's screen using Go > Connect to Server and entering its name (C.local or vnc://C.local) or using Go > Home, clicking on C on the sidebar and choosing Share Screen, it does not work. The Screen Sharing app brings up a login dialog for C (which it has not done since I first connected to C long ago) and when I enter the correct login information, after a bit the Screen Sharing app crashes and leaves the login dialog hanging. I have to use Activity Monitor to quit NetAuthAgent to close the dialog.
I can connect to C from B with no problem, and I can connect to C from A if I use C's IP address (vnc://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) but not if I use its name. I can also see C from A using Chicken of the VNC. And I can connect to disks on C.
Of course, I have tried restarting A and C, and I have tried deleting the Screen Sharing prefs file (com.apple.ScreenSharing.plist) from my user Library on A (and restarting). I thought the problem might be with keychains, so I ran Keychain Access, and I noticed that there were vnc keychain entries for B but not for C. So I tried manually adding keychain entries for C. No differece. Then I deleted all keychain entries for C, which did not help.
Something on A that is specific to screen sharing C by name got clobbered, but I am at a loss what it might be or how to fix it.

The only time it fails is in windows 7 and the address used of HTTP://servername. I updated the above post to show it works in XP with ff12.
There is no proxy server involved.
I am logged into the domain.
If I use the fully qualified servername as the address it works. Http://servername.domain.local

  • Machine lockup when using World Community Grid software

I have a T60p with 3 GB of memory.  I have all the latest BIOS and Thinkvantage updates.
I run the World Community Grid software (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/) which uses my laptop for "worthwhile" scientific computing activities while the laptop is otherwise unused.  This software has a setting to limit the CPU usage of this software.  When I permit the World Community Grid to use 90% of the CPU of the laptop, I get occasional machine lockups, meaning that the machine suddenly stops responding to the keyboard and mouse.  The problem does not happen when I set the software to use 50% of the CPU capacity.
I suspect that this has to do with machine overheating.  The air coming out of the vents gets noticeably warm when running this software.  I am careful to keep the machine in a well-ventilated and airconditioned office-type environment.
I complained about this on one of the World Community Grid forums (https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18443) , and another user indicated that he/she has the same problem.
So my question: shouldn't the system BIOS prevent the machine from overheating?  I would think that a lockup like this indicates a bug.

    Hi Rodney,
Firstly, thank you for your time replying to my question.
After looking around for this problem, I do think there is a bug in the new firewall that comes with Leopard, the so called Application Firewall (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1810?viewlocale=en_US). With the old ipfw I had not problem whatsoever, but this new one is giving my a headache...
    After reading this
    http://gp.darkproductions.com/2007/11/summary-of-leopard-firewall-issues.html
I guess I will fuss around with the ipfw using a GUI such as WaterRoof (http://www.hanynet.com/waterroof/).
But getting back to the explanations, my situation was exactly where you still are: using one machine with Leopard and the other with Tiger, things were fine. But after upgrading the laptop to Leopard too, the iMac and the MBPro do not talk to each other anymore. Unless, of course, I set both machines' firewall to "Allow All Incoming Connections" -- which is less than desirable, right?
If one machine is with its firewall set to anything different than "Allow All Incoming Connections", than the other cannot see it. Neither through Finder, neither through Go | Connect to server..., nothing.
When I access the firewall's log, I see that the other machine is trying to connect, but all the incoming traffic gets blocked and the message is always the same:
    *Jun 30 21:13:56 xxx Firewall[71]: Deny AppleFileServer connecting from 192.168.1.xxx:53850 uid = 0 proto=6*
Here is another thread in the forum that shows more people suffering from the same problem:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1464407&start=0&tstart=0
In the meantime, I will have to be transferring my files using an USB drive... :/
    Thanks,
    BZdM

  • Task Scheduler - Bad login when using the correct password

    Greetings,
I have been working an issue with Task Scheduler for a while now. I have done the forum rumble as well and looked at most if not all the posts to no avail. So here is my setup is on Server 2008 R2 SP1:
I have a service accounts, we are looking to automate a basic file compile of data then a file copy. Nothing fancy however it is nothing I can share. I have all unc paths in the file so there is no odd drive latter mapping going on. The BAT file executes
without issue from a cmd prompt without issue nor error.
When I put it into Task Scheduler however things do not go so well. I have checked permissions: the account is a local admin to the system, it has the right to logon as a batch and service as well as create global objects. The account
has rights to the directories explicitly applied as well as in groups it is a part of. I can execute the task when running the console as the account, I can run the task when I relax a policy for Network access: store passwords, to allow the task
to run when the users is logged in or out. However when I run the task and check don't store the password it fails with the error that it is a bad logon user name and password are incorrect.
I swapped the target account to the local Admin GROUP and it works but this is not ideal for tracking and security reasons. I created a new group and gave it rights locally as above and add the account to it but that failed.
At this point having hit just about everything I can find to include path for Start In option, Run as highest privilege, changing to UNC, and explicit permissions I am not finding a light at the end of this tunnel.
I have a feeling there is something simple or maybe it is something I am not aware of. I had read a few places of a possible corrupt store for the password cache for Task Scheduler but I did not see that anything else on it beyond mention.
Any help ANYONE can provide on this would be greatly appreciated.

As you maybe looking for an update I did find a workaround but not a solution.
I went in and disabled the local storage of password block in the local system registry. This allowed the task to store the password for the task and work. We next ran GPUPDATE to reset the change but, DID NOT change the task itself and it worked.
    So what does this mean?
From my perspective, we are seeing an issue or bug where the hand off of the account information to the S4U/system is dropping the account credentials and not storing the information as needed/required to run the task with the Do Not Store setting in
place. This narrows down things tremendously and I am going to proceed back to isolated testing on this issue. Meaning I am going to take the box back to square one and move it up progressively to see if I am missing a setting here or there to allow/disallow
the use of Do not Store Password for scheduled tasks.
I am not sure there is a MSMasters program for Task Scheduler but I think I should be able to apply for it now.
As always if you have an idea for me to try PLEASE POST IT. I will give it a whirl and report back in.

  • Use of communication user in RFC of HCM process types

    Dear All,
I have created an HCM-PA package, and when used a communication user in the RFC it gives me the error that no data exists for your user in the Transfer selection criteria activity (This is not an issue with defining target areas I have confirmed)
I then used my ID ( a dialog user) and it works well. However, now I want other users (about 10) to be able to run their respective packages. Does that mean I have to add each of these 10 users to the RFC? How can I resolve this without having to use their ID in the RFC maintenance?
    Thanks
    Harmeet

    Hi Harmeet,
the easiest thing to do is to define a CPIC user in your receiver system destination and then to use the customising activity "Set technical switches". Here you can set a switch called SND_LOGON to the value 'X'.  When you do this, the person who calls the transfer program with the activity "Transfer Selection Criteria" must explicitly log on using their own sender system user.
This method means that the user must have the correct HCM authorisations and prevents that a dialogue user is defined in the RFC definition (which, of course, anybody could use).
    Hope this helps.
    Gerard.

You have SCADS of extensions and the things running. McAfee, Intego, Orbicule, CleanMyMac, and others I've not ever even heard of. My first recommendation would be to remove all of these and see if things improve.

  • Avoid Database Login prompt when using CrystalReportViewer

Is there a way to keep the Database Login prompt from coming up when using Crystal Reports runtime 2008 SP2? I'm using that plus Visual Studio 2008 to develop a Windows Form application to view reports on a client machine that accesses data on a seperate SQL Server 2005 machine. My customer would like to avoid having users manually enter anything everytime a report is opened with the Crystal Reports viewer.
I've used the following code with ODBC and OLE DB report connections. When I use ODBC, the prompt comes up with Integrated Security checked which must be cleared. When I use OLE DB, the prompt comes up with Database Name blank and greyed out so I cannot manually enter it.
    Am I missing something here?

    Imports CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms

Dim logOnInfos As TableLogOnInfos = CrystalReportViewer1.LogOnInfo
For Each logOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo In logOnInfos
                logOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = myConnectionInfo
            Nex
        End Sub
        Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
Dim myConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
            setDatabaseLogon(myConnectionInfo)
            myConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = "ClearView"
            myConnectionInfo.UserID = "reports"
            myConnectionInfo.Password = "dstreports"

Thanks Jonathan for the tip. I tried it before and after the setDatabaseLogin call yesterday, but got the same results. I'm still going to follow your suggestion because that makes more sense.
Turns out it was the configuration of my ODBC/System DSN that was causing the problem. I reconfigured the System DSN by clearing the check box to provide username/password and now I don't get the Database Login anymore.
I found a different blog post that answered the OLE DB issue I was seeing where the DatabaseName was coming up blank:
    Login Error Database at Runtime
Haven't tried it yet and probably won't because I got the Viewer to work with ODBC the way I like it.
    Thanks for the help!

  • 802.1X PEAP fails when using special characters in login

I am using MS AD & NPS for 802.1X Enterprise authentication with PEAP (no client certificate - MS-CHAPv2 user credentials for login). This works fine for iOS devices on 8.1 (iPhone 5 and iPad mini) and 6.1.6 (iPhone 3GS) when the user has standard "English" ASCII characters in the username and password.
However, when I introduce Unicode special accented characters in the login name or password such as French é/ù or Spanish ñ then after accepting the server cert authentication fails with "Incorrect username or password for <WLAN name>". Windows 7 and CentOS 6.5 laptops have no problem authenticating to the same setup with either "English" credentials or ones with special accented characters. I also tried an old iPod touch on ancient software version and that fails, so its not something recently introduced.
I tried using a different access point (TP-Link instead of Ruckus) and had exactly the same issue, so highly unlikely this is an AP issue.
Then I setup FreeRadius with and see exactly the same issue, so its highly unlikely to be a MS AD/NPS issue.
When comparing a working/failed authentication Wireshark packet capture on the NPS server, I see the failed attempt is missing the last 4 packets in the authentication exchange. The last packet sent is an Access-Challenge from the NPS server and no response from the iOS device, so the NPS server never even sends an Access-Reject. The iOS device appears to have decided it can't resolve the special characters and terminates the authentication attempt.
To me this seems to be an Apple iOS software deficiency when using Unicode special characters in the username or password for 801.2X authentication?
